Its a dark stormy night and while everyone has to deal with the storm theres a ton of crashes coming from the backyard and Joyce checks it out thinking its a raccoon only for it to be an adorable little kitten and similarly to how Harry fathered Little Dude temporarily Elsie is gonna mother this kitten until they can find it a home
Stanley: Mom how long is this storm gonna last?
Joyce: The weather channel says it should be over by tomorrow hun
Stanley: Awww that means I cant play with my friends..
Mark: Dont worry kiddo this storm will pass off by tomorrow and you'll have all day to play!
*The power goes off*
Lionel: *Playing his electric guitar but then it stops working* Huh? Hey what gives! I was playing my guitar!
Mark: It seems the power has been knocked out-
Lionel: Oh great now I cant play my music..
Joyce: We can always play a game to pass the time!
Stanley: Ok! What do you guys wanna play?
Joyce: I was thinking we could-
Elsie: MROWWWWWWWWWWWW *Meowing in fear upstairs*
Lionel: What was that-
Stanley: That sounded like Elsie! I'll be right back guys I gotta check on her!
Mark: Awwww poor kitty must be afraid of storms..
*In Stanley's room*
Elsie: *Clinging onto Harry* Please big brother make the storm go away! I dont wanna die! *Crying*
Harry: Hey its not so bad dudette! Its just a little bit of rain!
Elsie: Its not just a little bit of rain! Its a LOT of rain! With big scary noises! Plus its super dark now and I dont know what to do!
Dennis: Please calm down Elsie- I heard Stanley's mom downstairs say it'll all be over by tomorrow you just gotta wait
Elsie: No I cant! I hate waiting! But I hate it even more when storms are involved! *Cuddling Harry even longer* please.. promise you wont let anything happen to me..
Harry: I-I promise Elsie! But I dont know what I can do!
Stanley: Guys whats going on here?
Dennis: Elsie seems to be super terrified of the storm shes clinging onto Harry and yearning for him to protect her
Stanley: Awwww Elsie.. its ok the storm will be over soon.. I hope-
Dennis: Perhaps we can do something to help her ignore the storm! Like a game!
Stanley: Yeah! My family's looking for a game right now! So we can all play! Come on Elsie what do you say?
Elsie: I.. guess that could be fun.. but what if the big scary thunder monster comes after us!
Harry: AHHHHHHH SHES RIGHT! I saw it in one of your comics Stanley dude! We gotta get out of here!
Dennis: Settle down both of you- thats not a real thing! Comic books are make believe they arent real
Elsie: How do you know this one cant be real?
Harry: Yeah besides the great big book of everything has animals come in and out of it! What makes you say that cant come out of it!
Dennis: Well for starters the great big book of everything is a zoology book it teaches us facts about real animals while this comic book is entirely fiction!
Stanley: Fiction? What does that mean?
Dennis: Fiction is a genre of stories thats plots are entirely made up and not grounded in reality while non fiction books are based on true events
Elsie: So like the great big book of everything is non fiction cause it has real animals?..
Dennis: Precisely Elsie! And another thing this book is very special its a magical book while the comic book is.. just a comic book
Lionel: Hey little bro we're about to start our game everyone's waiting for you
Stanley: Oh yeah sorry Lionel I was just trying to calm Elsie down so what game are we playing?
Lionel: You know that show Jeopardy? We're doing that with animal categories
Stanley: Oh boy! I bet im gonna win that one!

Stanley: Ok! Come on guys! *Puts Dennis' tank in a wagon*
Elsie: *Clings onto Harry's back* This could be fun.. I guess..
Harry: OW- Elsie your claws! Get rid of them dudette!
Elsie: No! I need them to defend myself! You cant just get rid of claws!
Dennis: I think he means retract your claws.. not get rid of them entirely

Mark: Welcome back Stanley! Ready to play with us?
Stanley: Yeah! Except.. I dont know how to play "Jeopardy"
Joyce: Oh its easy Stanley you just pick a category for a certain amount of points and I will read out the answer and you have to answer it with the question associated with the answer
Mark: Its a sort of reverse questionnaire where instead of her reading out a question and you saying the answer she says the answer and you have to say the question
Stanley: So if she said an animal who meows and purrs and is a common pet I'd answer "What is a cat?"
Joyce: Yep you got it! So you ready to play now?
Stanley: Sure!
Lionel: I'll go first! Hmmmm.. I will take jungle animals for 300 mom
Joyce: Ok the answer is.. this animal runs very fast but runs out of energy quickly
Lionel: Thats a good one.. what is a puma?
Joyce: Nope! Close though! Mark?
Mark: What is a cheetah
Joyce: Correct!
Mark: Yes! Score one for dad!
Stanley: Dont you mean score 300?
Mark: Hehe yes that too ok my turn.. I'll take-
*Crashing noises outside*
Lionel: Now what noise is that-
Joyce: It sounded like it came from the backyard
*Harry and Elsie trembling in fear*
Harry: The monster! Its here!
Dennis: Get a grip you guys- its no monster! But I do wonder what all that noise is myself.. dont you?
Joyce: Im gonna check what that noise was maybe it was a raccoon going through the garbage
Mark: Ok be careful out there honey
*She goes outside and sees that it wasnt a raccoon its a lost little kitten*
Joyce: Awww you arent a raccoon at all you're just a poor little kitten
Kitten: *Hisses and tries to hide*
Joyce: Dont worry I wont hurt you I just wanna get you inside.. *Tries to call her over* its ok!
Kitten: *Trembling and shivering* Mew..
Joyce: *Picks her up* Poor thing you must be freezing.. come on I'll take you inside and I'll give you some food! I hope Elsie doesnt mind having another cat around.. *Goes inside with the kitten*
Lionel: So what was outside mom?
Joyce: This little kitten! It looks so scared and hungry..
Stanley: Awwww can we keep it! Im sure Elsie would love to have another cat around!
Joyce: Stanley we already have enough mouths to food we cant afford another we're gonna keep it until we find its owner
Lionel: And if it doesnt have an owner?
Stanley: Then we can keep it!
Joyce: No if it doesnt have a home then we'll put it up for adoption at the pet store
Stanley: Ok.. you mind if I take it upstairs?
Joyce: Once its fed then yes just make sure Elsie is ok with having another cat around
Stanley: Its ok mom im sure she'll love having another cat!
Mark: I wouldnt be too sure about that Stanley- cats can be very territorial animals
Joyce: Remember how long it took for her to get along with Harry?
Stanley: Yeah but Harry's a dog! Cats and dogs are known to not like each other! This is another cat she'll get along with it better
Mark: Remember to take it slowly and let it adapt to its surroundings before introducing it to Elsie
Stanley: Alright! Can I introduce it to Dennis?
Joyce: I dont see why not!
Stanley: Cool!
*Once the kitten is fed he takes her upstairs and brings Dennis*
Stanley: Look at this kitten Dennis! Isnt it cute!
Dennis: Yes very cute indeed! Hey little fella where'd you come from?
Stanley: My mom found it in the backyard!
Dennis: Lets hope Elsie will be able to get along with it- cats are pretty territorial
Stanley: Yeah thats what dad said-
Harry: Hey dudes! Whats going on?
Dennis: Stanley's mom found a helpless kitten outside
Harry: Awwwww look at how adorable it is! Hey little buddy! My name's Harry!
Kitten: *Hides behind Stanley*
Stanley: Harry dont scare it like that!
Harry: Its ok dude I wont hurt you! Im a nice dog!
Elsie: Whats all the noise up here..
Harry: Stanley found a new kitten in the backyard!
Elsie: A new cat?
Stanley: We're not keeping it we are just gonna take care of it till we find it a home like we did for Little Dude
Elsie: *Sniffs it* Hmmm.. not as purrrrrfect as me..
Dennis: Thats cause its still wet from the storm Elsie
Elsie: Well just keep it away from me I dont need another cat stealing my turf
Harry: But its a cat just like you! Dont you wanna name it?
Elsie: No-
Kitten: *Goes up to Elsie and she ignores it at first but after a while she gets visibly annoyed*
Elsie: Get away from me! *Pushes her away* this is my house! Im the only cat that gets to be around here!
Harry: Thats just mean Elsie she just wants to play! Its ok kitty I wont let that meanie hurt you..
Elsie: Its all up in my space! This is my house! Im not sharing food or anything!
Dennis: Its just a kitten Elsie you oughta be nicer to her..
Elsie: No I want it gone! *Hisses slightly*
Kitten: *Hiding under the bed*
Harry: Thats not very nice ya know!
Stanley: Yeah cant you try to get along with the kitten? She wont be here forever and shes not gonna replace you!
Elsie: It may be a kitten but I dont want it in my territory! Just leave me alone- I need some alone time after that kitten kept bothering me..
Stanley: I dont get it Dennis how come Elsie doesnt like the kitten I thought they'd get along..
Dennis: Its not as simple as when humans like you meet new people cats are very territorial and end up fighting over it in some cases
Harry: Ok Dennis thats just rude to cats
Dennis: Uh come again?
Harry: Cats may be mean with others but that doesnt mean you get to call all cats terrible!
Dennis: I didnt say terrible I said territorial-
Harry: I dont know what that means but I think you need to apologize to Elsie and that little kitten dude
Dennis: Territorial means to claim something as your own so when Elsie rubs her head against the doorframe shes marking her territory with her scent she doesnt like that the kitten is in what she calls her territory which is the house
Harry: Oh- I still think that sounds mean!
Dennis: Uh huh.. maybe we need to learn more about cats and territory by looking into a.. book that we own
Stanley: Which one? I have a ton of books ya know
Dennis: You know.. its big and it can tell us all about cats..
Stanley: Oh I know! The great big book of everything!
Dennis: Well yes- but- ugh here we go again..

Dennis: Its bad enough we're in a very strong storm I dont wanna spend my time locked inside listening to your terrible singing!
Harry and Elsie: Storms to kittens are like a mouse so lets welcome it to the houseeeeeeeee!
Dennis: They seem to be running out of rhymes for this song dont you think?
Harry: Hey I think the little kitten dude liked the song!
Kitten: *Mewing to the tune of it*
Elsie: Hmmm.. I guess she did.. *Starting to feel bad for how she treated her but wont admit it*
Stanley: I think you're starting to like her Elsie
Elsie: Huh- no im not! Shes just a kitten! I remember when I was her age and I was much cuter then!
Stanley: *Opens the book to the cat page* Cat starts with C!
Harry: Uhhhh those arent cats Stanley those are a bunch of big looking animals
Dennis: Actually they are in the feline family! What you see there are lions, tigers, pumas and panthers who are all cousins of the cat!
Elsie: Dont expect a family reunion though.. I dont know any of those cats
Stanley: Oh theres the page of the regular house cat!
Harry: Hey! Why is the momma kitten holding her kitten like that by the neck! That seems painful!
Dennis: Thats how a mother cat picks up her kittens so they dont get into any trouble she picks it up to redirect it back to a safe place
Kitten: *Walks off*
Elsie: Wait no get back here! *Picks her up the same way the mom cat in the book did and places her on the bed* dont wander off like that you'll get hurt!
Dennis: Seems like a certain someone has picked up on that trait hehehe
Elsie: Why are you laughing? Millie could have gotten attacked!
Stanley: Whos Millie?
Elsie: The kitten obviously
Dennis: Do I sense you getting attached to the kitten?
Elsie: No! I just.. something in me sort of awakened..
Dennis: Thats your motherly instincts kicking in! You realize that the kitten was lost in the storm and since you're afraid of storms like her and know how she feels you wanna protect her from any danger that comes from it like how Harry was doing for you
Millie: *Kneading on her chest and suckling on her fur*
Elsie: I guess thats true.. but what is she doing?
Dennis: Kittens and even grown up cats will knead on someone if they trust them enough and suckle on them to simulate drinking their mom's milk she considers you her mom
Stanley: Kinda like how Little Dude considered Harry his mom!
Harry: Ah I remember that like it was yesterday..
Elsie: Im gonna take her downstairs so I can give her some water she looks thirsty
Stanley: Ok lets go!
*They all go downstairs but the book was left open so a panther gets out of it*
Stanley: Hey mom! Elsie seems to really be getting along with Millie!
Joyce: Huh? Whos Millie?
Stanley: The kitten!
Joyce: Thats such a nice name for her! I havent gotten back from anyone about a lost kitten so she'll be here for a while it seems
Stanley: Cool! I wish we could keep her!
Joyce: I wish we could too but we cant afford to feed 2 cats I'll keep checking to see if anyone lost their kitten
Stanley: Ok mom!
Dennis: You know Stanley I just remembered something
Stanley: What is it Dennis?
Dennis: Didnt Lester say he wanted a pet?
*Flashback to a few days ago*
Stanley: I love your bunny Marci and Mimi!
Lester: Yeah hes so cute!
Marci: Thanks guys! Im so glad our parents let us adopt Jackie!
Mimi: Hes the best bunny rabbit ever!
Lester: I wish I had a pet..
Stanley: You'll get one someday Lester! What type of animal do you want?
Lester: Well.. I've always wanted a gorilla!
Marci: That sounds cool! I want a gorilla too!
Dennis: Im afraid gorillas dont make very good pets Lester they arent domesticated so they need to be out in the wild in their natural habitat
Lester: Oh.. right.. I always liked dogs too! But I think my mom's allergic to them..
Harry: Allergic? Whats she got against dogs?
Dennis: That just means his mom constantly sneezes around them she doesnt decide what shes allergic to
Lester: I can always ask about a cat!
Elsie: Good choice.. cats are just purrrrfect
Harry: Hey whatever's best for you dude!
*Back to the present*
Stanley: Oh yeah! He said he would ask his parents about a cat! When the storm clears up tomorrow we should give Millie to him!
Elsie: Give Millie away?..
Stanley: Yeah! Lester will be so happy to have a pet like me Marci and Mimi!
Elsie: Yeah im sure he would..
Harry: You love that little dudette dont you?
Elsie: Ok maybe I do but- Millie? Millie where'd you go!
Dennis: I think I saw her go upstairs- *Growling from up there* and it doesnt sound too good!
Elsie: MILLIE! *Runs up the stairs*
Stanley: Wait Elsie! *Runs after her*
*A panther is growling at Millie and shes scared*
Elsie: Millie! Get away from her you big mean panther! *Hissing*
Harry: Oh hey another cat! And hes a big one too!
Dennis: Stanley quick get the book!
Stanley: Ok! *Gets the book and the panther goes in but so does Millie*
Elsie: NO! Millie! Im coming for you my baby! *Jumps in the book*
Dennis: Im surprised she changed her tone on the kitten that fast- usually it takes a few days or even weeks for a cat to warm up to a kitten
Harry: Even calling her "my baby" she doesnt even call me that!
Dennis: Because you arent her kid..
Stanley: Guys theres not much time! Lets get Elsie and Millie back! *Goes into the book and through various pages*
Harry: *In a page about regular cats* Elsie? Is that you? *Goes up to a mother cat and she scratches Harry* OW!
Dennis: Thats not Elsie Harry- and its not a good idea to approach a mother cat like that while shes with her newborn kittens
Stanley: Awwwww they look so cute!
Harry: But why are their eyes closed? Are they sleepwalking?
Dennis: Nope thats just how they are born! Kittens are born blind their eyes dont open until 8 days after they were born because they have a protective barrier over their eyes for the first week of their life before their eyes are strong enough to open and then another 2 or 3 days to fully open and even then they are still blind for the first 2 weeks of their lives
Stanley: So then how do they know where to go? Where their mom is?
Harry: Their sense of hearing of course!
Dennis: Actually Harry kittens are born deaf too they cant hear anything until 2 weeks after they're born
Harry: Then how do they know where the momma is?
Dennis: With their sense of smell and feeling! Kittens may not be able to hear or see things at birth but they get around with the scent of their mother and her body heat
Harry: And what are they doing now? *Kittens drinking their mom's milk*
Dennis: They're drinking their mom's milk Harry a mother cat's breasts have milk inside them that helps keep her kittens nice and healthy! Dogs and humans do the same thing with their kids!
Stanley: They do? I dont remember my mom doing that with me..
Dennis: Well you were too young to remember it Stanley but not all human mothers can give their babies milk from their breasts which is why some mothers go to formula in a bottle!
Harry: Oh yeah I remember my mom! She was super cool!
Dennis: And like I said dog moms also have milk in their breasts they give to their puppies! Dog moms also dont like it when you get too near her puppies its a protective thing! When you get down to it dogs and cats can be quite similar
Harry: So thats what Millie was doing with Elsie?
Dennis: Yep! She was simulating what it feels like to drink her mom's milk because she saw Elsie as a mother figure and trusted her!
Stanley: And speaking of cats lets get back to looking for Elsie and Millie!
*They look in more pages but they cant find them and Harry seems hes about to give up*
Harry: Its no use! They're gone! Game over dudes! *Crying and howling* my cat sister is gone!
Dennis: Come on dont give up so soon Harry.. shes gotta be around here somewhere we've only gone through 12 pages this book has thousands of pages! Shes bound to be in one of them
Harry: But we've looked everywhere!
Dennis: Eh not really.. only 12 out of about 3,164 pages isnt really "everywhere"
Stanley: Theres THAT many pages in here?
Dennis: Yes its quite a lot
Elsie: Stanley! Harry! Dennis!
Stanley: Look there she is coming towards us!
Elsie: There you guys are! I found Millie she almost got hurt by a lion but I saved her just in time!
Harry: Its almost like I can still hear my sister's voice!
Elsie: Why is he crying?
Stanley: He was worried you'd be gone forever so he started crying..
Elsie: Awwww Harry.. *Gently licks him* ew- got a tear in my mouth
Harry: *Gasp* I know that lick!
Elsie: Only a gentle cat like me would give a kiss like that..
Harry: ELSIE! *Hugs her very tightly* you're alive!
Elsie: Of course I am- now please loosen your hug..
Harry: Dont ever scare me like that again dudette! *Wagging tail like crazy and hugging her even tighter*
Dennis: Woah Harry I know you're happy but loosen your grip before you choke her-
Harry: Oh sorry- *Lets go*
Elsie: *Cough cough* Thanks Harry.. now lets get out of this book before something else comes after us-
Stanley: Hear ya loud and clear Elsie lets go guys!
*They jump out of the book*
Dennis: Well after that long journey I think its best if we all go to sleep now..
Stanley: Yeah that adventure made me tired..
Millie: *Nuzzling Harry and Elsie* Mama.. daddy..
Elsie: Awwww she called me her mom..
Harry: And she called me- wait huh?! Millie I hate to break it to you dudette but I cant be your dad! Im a dog and you know dogs dont make cats!
Millie: Daddy.. *Nuzzling him*
Dennis: It may not be possible for you to be a cat's biological dad but you can always take care of one as if it was your own Harry!
Harry: Well I do love this little dudette..
Stanley: Too bad we cant keep her.. but at least Lester will love her if he can keep her!
Joyce: *Comes in* Everything alright Stanley?
Stanley: Yep! I had an idea on what we can do for Millie!
Joyce: Whats that?
Stanley: If you cant find anyone by tomorrow to adopt her then we can give her to Lester! Hes always wanted a pet like me and Marci and Mimi!
Joyce: If its ok with Lester's parents then thats a great idea! *Kisses him good night* good night Stanley
Stanley: Night mom!
Elsie: *Jumps on the bed with Harry and Millie* You hear that Millie you're gonna get a new home!
Stanley: And she'll be with Lester if his parents are ok with it! So she'll be right nearby and you can visit her when we go to his house!
Harry: Cool! Uhhhh where does he live again?
Stanley: You'll see tomorrow when we go over there..
Dennis: We learned a lot about cats as mothers havent we?
Harry: Yeah like how they cant see or hear anything when they're born!
Elsie: Yeah I've been told before that cats are born that way.. but I dont remember that at all
Dennis: Of course you dont since you were just a newborn when you couldnt see or hear! They also drink from their mom's milk to stay nice and healthy!
Elsie: Now that I do remember.. no wonder Millie's been suckling on my fur
Dennis: Yep as I said before she thinks you're her mom and thats how you know she trusts you!
Stanley: And not just cats dogs and humans also feed their babies with their milk!
Dennis: Indeed they do and if a human mom cant produce it she goes for formula in a bottle!
Stanley: Being a mom seems like a lot of hard work..
Dennis: It certainly is..
Elsie: Well good night guys im getting sleepy and so is Millie.. *Sleeping*

Stanley: Did they say they wanna adopt Millie?
Joyce: They sure did! I sent them an email of her pictures and they loved her! They want us to surprise Lester when he wakes up
Stanley: Yippee! Lester is gonna be so happy!
Joyce: Im sure he will be! Now lets walk over to his house and give her to him
Stanley: Ok!
*They walk over to Lester's house*
Joyce: *Rings doorbell*
Nancy: Oh hello Joyce! And hello to you too Stanley!
Stanley: Hi Mrs Goldberg! We have Millie right here!
Nancy: Oh wonderful! Shes so cute! Lester is gonna be very excited! Come on in guys!
Wallace: Is this that kitten you were telling me about?
Nancy: Yep! Isnt she the sweetest thing?
Wallace: She certainly is cute! Where did you find her?
Joyce: During the storm yesterday I heard some noises coming from the backyard so I went to shoo it away thinking it was a raccoon but then I see this cute little kitten shivering and all wet from the rain so I took her in and got her fed and Elsie seems to have taken her in as her daughter
Stanley: Yeah! She was sad when we told her we couldnt keep her but then she lit up when I told her she'd be living here with you and Lester!
Wallace: *Pets Elsie* You're quite the foster mom arent you? Well honey lets go wake up Lester!
Nancy: Hes gonna be so excited! *Goes upstairs with Joyce*
Elsie: I'll miss having her around.. but at least she'll be in a good home!
Dennis: Shes certainly in good hands with Lester!
Stanley: Yeah! Lets see if Lester's awake yet *They go upstairs*

Lester: Hmm? Oh hey Stanley! I didnt know you'd be coming over!
Joyce: We wanted to bring you a surprise!

Wallace: Well son Mrs Griff found a kitten in the backyard during the storm last night and she couldnt find a home for it
Nancy: Until now! Say hello to your new kitten Millie!
Millie: Mew! *Purring near Lester*
Lester: Oh boy a kitten! Thanks mom and dad! And thank you Mrs Griff for saving her!
Stanley: You can also thank Elsie she mothered Millie all day yesterday!
Joyce: Yeah she was being such a good girl about the kitten! It caught me by surprise
Stanley: Well she was territorial with her at first but she eventually warmed up to her!
Lester: This is the best gift ever! Thanks everyone!
Stanley: You're welcome Lester!
Joyce: Since the storm is over how about Lester comes over to our house so he and Stanley can play!
Lester: Oh mom dad can we please!
Wallace: If its ok with Mrs Griff its fine by us!
Lester: Yay! Come on Stanley lets head over to your house!
Stanley: Alright! Maybe we can teach Millie some tricks!
Lester: And maybe teach her about animals!
Stanley: Today's gonna be so much fun! We gotta show Marci and Mimi too!

Dennis: Something wrong Elsie?
Elsie: Its just.. I know Millie's gonna be in a good home but im really gonna miss her..
Harry: I know how you feel! It was hard having to give up Little Dude but im happy as long as hes in a good home with his real mother! Or when I have to give away a toy! I really miss the toys I have given away..
Dennis: Giving away a toy isnt exactly the same as losing someone you loved Harry
Harry: I know I just wanted to show respect to the toys I have lost!
Dennis: Yes.. but he is right about one thing Elsie even if you are attached to something you eventually have to let it go.. thats just how life works nothing lasts forever im afraid
Elsie: I know..
Harry: Its ok Elsie you still have us!
