I can't believe I'm doing this but I am. This idea has been in my head for a while so I decided to give it a crack! Heads up, I 100% took inspiration from Marvel: Game Maker System and Game Developer System, so make sure to check those out!

I don't own any of the media in this story, please support all official releases.

Abraham's POV

"You gotta be kidding me." I said to myself as I stared up at the ceiling, the fan blowing cool air down and hitting my face.

"They really weren't lying." I continued as I got up from the bed and looked around my room.

It wasn't much, just what you would expect in a bedroom. A chest, nightstand, mirror, closet, the bed, and the computer directly to beds right.

My eyes remained focused on the computer as I remembered the conversation I had with the ROB not even a moment ago. I just continued staring at the computer until it finally hit me. I actually died.

That thought felt like a splash of cold water hitting my face, ironic, considering the way I died.

I wasn't all that special, I just worked the graveyard shift as a security guard at my local mall in the state of West Virginia. I had a small home on those tree laden hills, just big enough for me and a small family whenever I got around to that.

All was going well until it was revealed that a meteor was apparently careening towards Earth.

Yeah, a meteor of all things.

Not just a small one, I mean the big one, enough to wipe out all life on Earth big.

To say everyone was freaking out was a vast understatement, the whole world fell into anarchy.

Riots broke out, people tried their best to get underground to even have a sliver of a chance to survive… It was chaos.

I am not prideful enough to admit that I didn't freak out either, I mean, who wouldn't? The end of the world was here after all!

But unlike most people, I came to accept that I was going to die and I made peace with myself. What more could I do? It wasn't like I was going to survive, might as well not stress out over it.

However, unlike those few people who made peace with themselves, I decided to take it a bit further. I was going to stare the meteor down as it impacted Earth. If I was going to die, I wanted to stare down the thing that was going to kill me.

The reason I was even able to do this was because, funnily enough, it was supposed to impact not that far from me, just about fifty miles from where I lived.

So, with a plan in mind, I packed some things and hopped on my ATV and hit the mountains one last time as I rode to my death.

I timed it to where I would have only minutes before it made contact with the ground, so no matter what, I would see it as it hit.

Thing is, it was already too bright to stare at when I arrived, but I came prepared.

I had one of the strongest welders masks you could by just laying around in my house. Why I bought it, I had no idea, but it came in handy then. It was one of those where you could even stare at the sun, so I hoped it worked there.

It did. As soon as I put the mask on, I stared straight up and watched as the meteor got closer and closer.

I remembered as it broke the atmosphere, the clouds parted like a stone splashing in water.

I watched as the truly gargantuan piece of space rock came shooting down towards me, I remember my heart beating out of my chest and tears running down my eyes.

Most of all though, I remember raising my gun from my security position, a M1911 that I brought myself, and unloaded the entire magazine at it, roaring in defiance all the while. As soon as the last round left the chamber, the space rock hit and I knew no more. It was a safe bet to say that I was the first one to die.

The next thing I knew I woke up in front of a being made up of what appeared to be nothing and everything at the same time. It was honestly quite mesmerizing to witness.

After I picked up my jaw from the floor, the entity spoke and told me what was going on and what was going to happen.

Apparently the meteor was a mistake on its end, it was supposed to pass on by us but a fatal calculation sentenced us all to death. It didn't think much of it until it looked closer at just where it was going to hit, and funnily enough, it spotted me, shooting a 9mm at a hunk of space dust, screaming in defiance at my inevitable doom.

It was apparently so moved by my actions that it decided I deserved a second chance at life. Why it decided that, I had no idea, but I honestly didn't care. All that interested me was my apparent second life.

It didn't let me decide what kind of life I was going to get or even what powers I would have, it instead decided to leave that all up to chance.

Quite literally as a massive wheel manifested with a smorgasbord of potential powers I could have. Whatever my powers were decided what world I would reincarnate in. Quite annoying that I didn't have a choice but in the end it doesn't really matter.

The wheel started spinning at ludicrous speeds, going over millions upon millions of potential powers. What seemed like hours passed by until finally it started to slow down.

Watching, I saw it go over something like a random quirk or a zenkai boost, until it finally stopped.

The Game Creator System

That was what I got, and even though I couldn't prove it, I think the ROB played a hand in me getting it.

Before I could even ask what it was about, the ROB informed me that it would be explained when I woke up. All I had to do was just go to the computer that would be in the room.

After explaining that, he then told me about the world that I would be summoned to.

Thinking of it now, I got up from my bed and headed towards the computer. Powering it on, I saw two icons on my desktop, one labeled internet and the other labeled Game Creation.

Skipping over the ladder for now, I clicked on the internet option and it popped up immediately, something I was surprised about. Then again, when your state had the worst internet connection in the country, anything else would be fast.

Putting the thoughts to the side I typed in "monster encounters" and surely enough, millions of articles popped up.

Turns out, the world I was sent too has a little bit of a monster/alien invasion problem. From things as small as a mouse to things the size of literal mountains, this was facing it down.

Thankfully they were able to be controlled by bottlenecks because these things come out of clearly distinguished portals that all but tell you when an invasion was going to happen.

To combat these threats, people simply labeled "Monster Hunters" came about to be humanity's sword and shield. And there were a lot of them, considering everyone gained magic or "mana" as the people called it when these portals first appeared. The problem? The way they get their powers.

Apparently, the person who designed their magic system was a jackass. Why you may ask? Quite simple, really.

While the world has magic to combat the monsters, the only way to even gain any powers from it came from another group of people, the "Game Devs" they were called. Their one and only power is to make games for everyone else, true VRs at that. The players, upon completing a specific goal or by their own mana, are able to "summon" a power from the game to combat the monsters. Whether that be something such as a fireball or a lightning infused dog.

Now what's so bad about that? The "Game Devs" have the social and intellectual aptitude of a rock. Something about their mana firing their own brain. To put it bluntly, they don't know how to make a game at all.

That fireball and lightning infused dog? Took literal years of guidance to even be able to get them. In the life of a Game Dev, they would be lucky to put out three games before they die of old age. So, like I said, their magic system was made by a jackass. I'm here to fix that though.

Looking up a few things, I'm surprised to see that there are 8 billion people living at the current moment, what with the literal mountains of death sometimes roaming around I would've assumed there would be a lot less people around. Color me surprised I guess.

There's also an equivalent of streaming platforms and steam, though there's barely ten thousand games listed, and from what I can tell it has been around for a long time.

Why there's streaming platforms is actually quite surprising. Not wanting to be a complete asshole I guess when whoever was designing this magic system, they added in a little feature that is actually pretty useful.

When people watch someone play one of the games online, both gain a small boost to their mana. It's more helpful for the streamer than the viewer because they gain more mana from more people, making them able to use more spells and summon more things.

Why everyone isn't a streamer then is an easy answer. Because if you stream, then you are EXPECTED to fight. More than enough people have lost everything for just sitting back and keeping their power to themselves and not fighting on the front lines. So it was surprisingly a very stressful job.

To make it more complex, if the streamer wanted even more mana they had to make it exciting for their viewers. How that's calculated is beyond me, but that's how it worked. Happy viewers equals more power.

It's nice, but the problem is that these games are BORING. Like snore inducing boring. Guess that's what you get when you have literal nearly brain dead people make a game. That's not even me bashing on the game, it's the reviews on them that literally say it.

The general consensus? If it didn't help prevent their extinction then one would play them. That's what I was working with, and what a complete mess it was.

Clicking off the internet, I went to the only other icon on my desktop and clicked on it.

Immediately my vision went black and I woke up in a world of white void.

"Hello, and welcome to the Game Creator System! Allow me to explain the general idea of your powers."

The AI voice came so fast that it nearly gave me whiplash, but I quickly recovered in time for the AI to continue explaining.

"To start, you have something cal "Creation Points" or CP for short. What these points are used for are simple, the creation of games!"

At that, a label appeared in front of me.

"As you can see, you only have 100 CP at the moment, but fret not! I will explain to you how to get more.

One way to gain more CP is to have others buy your game. The equivalent in this world would be the exchange of mana to buy the game."

I did remember seeing that there was a price included next to each game, all labeled the same price at that.

"Calculating the exchange rate equals out to 20 mana equaling 1 CP.

After buying the game, every four hours of play from someone gives you 1 CP, meaning if someone played for a day straight, you'll get 4 CP. These are the only two ways to attain CP, so I suggest you make good games!"

Well no duh AI voice, thanks for the tip.

"Moving on to the exciting part now, the actual creation of your game!"

Any stray thoughts that I had were immediately put to curb and I paid immense attention, not wanting to miss a single thing the AI said.

"To start, you have multiple genres of games to choose from. From your classic shooters to your strategy games, the options are almost endless.

After choosing the type of game you wish to make, next you have to choose the size of the game. Ranging from small to AAA in size, this along with the type of game determines how much CP it takes to make a game.

For example, a small strategy game costs 50 CP while a AAA one costs 10,000,000,000 CP."

My eyes visibly bulged at the cost of that, just what kind of game would that create!

"Of course, there are other things that determine the price, such as multi genre games or help designing the game, but those can be accounted for when you get to that point.

Last, but not least, you have a store that you can buy powers or other things using your CP, though be warned, considering this is a Game Creating System, any powers for you alone have been significantly upped."

Looking at the shopping cart icon in the top right of my vision, I mentally clicked on it and immediately winced at the price of everything there. Seems I won't have crazy eye powers anytime soon.

"But, that's all you need to worry about right now. If you need any help, just ask and I shall respond."

With that, I was left alone in the void all to myself to think on what I was going to make.

I sat in concentration for a while, thinking of just what exactly I wanted to make until it hit me.

Clicking the "Create New Game" in the upper left hand corner, I used the example the AI gave me. Clicking it, I was given a prompt.

"What would you like to call your game?"

"Pokémon."

Here you go, I hope you enjoyed it!

So, yeah, a new story, nothing really much to say.

This one has been itching at my mind for a while and it's such a good prompt I just had to do it.

Just to give a heads up, the MC more than likely won't be doing the badass stuff, that will be left to the people who play his games and use the powers and stuff they get from them. He will be sitting back and create more games to ensure the survival of Humanity. This story does however plan to branch to different worlds so maybe he'll get to do something there? Who knows! That's for future me to figure out!

If you have any suggestions let me know, reading your alls comments is half the fun of all this, so don't be afraid to speak!

But, that's all I got for you today, I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving and have an great day!
