Chloe Brown was scuttling down the hill as her head was full of thoughts. She was running away from her mother's lecture about 'taking care of younger sister'. Well, to refute, there was her own way of taking care of her sister. It's giving the lesson - that Lavender might need to know throughout her life like not stealing someone else's belongings - although it wasn't sure Lavender wanted it.

But treating Lavender the way Mrs.Brown wanted? Chloe cynically laughed. She and her sister never had such a relationship. NEVER. Even until the end of 'first life'.

First life… Rolling the word inside her mouth, Chloe threw a monotonous gaze to the far away hill. She reached out her hand and pretended to hold the hill in her hand. Of course, all she captured was air. Then, letting go of the grip, she lightly sighed. This was a sight she had missed for a long, long time.

Long time doesn't mean the days she spent in Hogwarts. A few months don't put a memory into a retrospection.

This is a long story to tell, but when short it, it could be said that she had once become an adult already. She had once graduated from Hogwarts. She remembers the party where they celebrated their graduation in the Three Broomsticks. She also remembers the hot feeling of firewhiskey as it went down the throat when she celebrated or commemorated the gone… But here she was, once again at the age of 16. To put this in more simple words, she has regressed.

Suddenly, in the middle of her ordinary life, she happened to encounter her sixteenth summer again.

First, she was confused, next, she doubted that this was some kind of trick on her, and then, at last, she admitted… that this was real. She was living in a 'magic' world. What could be impossible at all?It was easy to get rid of her sister who had worn her cherished sweater, which she was planning to wear on her first date. First date with…

She suddenly felt a strange feeling.

Well, before she regressed - in her first life, among this time… She was in love.

She was in love with a man, not a boy, a man… Yes, it was like that. It means in the 'first life', of course. Not now.But she has realized something. Now, he is here. She will meet him when she goes back to Hogwarts. He is still… alive.

Will she love him again? Well… 'Not this time,' she thought. She has already experienced a lot and knew about men, and it wasn't like when she was actually this age. When he was the only man in her life. Also, she knew that he would die. What's the use of loving a man who will die? It's like loving a corpse. She finished up right there and started to think about another thing in her mind.

'Mother would have calmed down by now.'

As she leisurely started back home, the sunset filled the sky.

"Chloe! Lavender! It's time to go now!"

"Wait a second, mom! Do you know where my white dress is? I bought it last time when we went to Malkin's!"

"I don't know. You know where you put your belongings."

"But I can't find it! Chloe! Did you take it?"Chloe, who was already done with packing up, or almost done because she put the trunk open yet, was looking down at her fingernail when she heard this absurd accusation.

"Dear sister, I am not a person who pays back with the same action."

And she added in a very low voice that only she could hear.

"I don't want to be at the same level."

"What did you just say?"

"Nothing."

Lavender turned her head with a doubt that she had heard some words like 'same' or something.

Then she said, "Mom, Chloe packed all her luggage. Make her look for my dress!"

It was another attempt. Lavender always tried to win over her sister whenever she could. But she had to know that Chloe is not only smarter than her, but this time even experienced all the troubles Lavender brings.

Chloe raised one side of her lips, drawing an unbalanced smile and said. "I am still packing, mom," giving a glimpse into her wide-opening trunk. That was why she was not closing the trunk yet.

"Can't you girls please stop bickering on the day of leaving home?"

Mrs.Brown made a sigh under the stairs.

"Of course, mom. Sis? We have no time to quarrel right now."

Chloe smirked and added, "Why don't you just ask mom to send your dress with an owl?"

Before Lavender started complaining with "But…" Mrs.Brown, who was tired of all this, broke into the conversation.

"That's a good idea! Now let's Apparate. Come down right now, two of you."

Lavender wanted to complain, but she couldn't start a word because Chloe, who zipped her trunk in a flash, came by and said, "Here, I give you a hand," and closed Lavender's trunk and zipped it up.

"We are done, mom! No need for thanks, Lavender."Lavender, who heard of such nonsense that she couldn't say a word, was dragged by Chloe's hand downstairs."I'll go bring the trunks, now."And Chloe did as she said. They held the hand of Mrs.Brown, the other hand holding the trunks, and Apparated to King's Cross.

King's Cross station was crowded with students going to Hogwarts and families seeing them. Possibly, Chloe and Lavender were the last passengers to the train. The long hand of the clock at the King's Cross was running towards 12.After they hurriedly ride on the train, Hogwarts Express started to move slowly.

On the train, Chloe turned around to Lavender.

"Let's split up here. I will go find my friends, you go find yours."

Before Lavender made any reply, someone walked up to them from behind Chloe.

"Brown, what are you doing here? The prefects are waiting for you in the front compartment."

As Chloe heard his voice, she blinked and headed towards him. It was Graham Montague standing there.

"Montague. I was just telling my sister to go to her friends. Mother instructed me to take care of her."

Lavender disliked the way Chloe talked just like she was a 'caring sister'. She was never interested in Lavender other than when kicking butt of Lavender.

"Oh, there were you. Hi, little Brown."As if he just noticed Lavender, Graham greeted her.

And this was why Lavender ended up hating Chloe. All her friends - only if possible they could be called friends, instead of courtiers - treated Lavender as air or something unless Chloe announced Lavender's existence. They were such jerks.

This Graham Montegue was a highly capable one among them. He was fair looking, not bad at all at studying, and due to be Slytherin's Quidditch Captain after Marcus Flint graduated. He was rude to others but not to Chloe. His emotions toward Chloe were so transparent that anyone could tell what he wanted.Even Lavender sometimes wondered why Chloe didn't become Montegue's girlfriend.

"If you said hello, let's move on. I'll check on you later, Lavender, so go straight to your friends. Understood?"

Lavender nodded.

"Alright. Let's go, Montague."
