This is an AU mostly because it's the next generation to Stephanie Plum. Ranger and Stephanie have twin sons. Joe Morelli had his own son the mother had died giving birth. So he raised the son. However after kindergarten, the boys become good friends and grow up together stuck to each other. Their other friend was Tanks son Theo Ballamy

Gage and Jace had finished their eight years in the military. They had both been in the Navy and done six years in the Navy Seals. They had been lucky in their last four years to be working in the same team. Sage had become an Army Ranger and had signed up for the full twenty years. Gage thought about how father hadn't happened that Sage had done more than eight years. He remembered what his father had said. "Boys you can do the first eight years and if you want to sign on for more." Their father didn't say much just that it can be hard and you will do things that will damage your karma.
Gage thought it was like his brother thought. If he did something he was always doing it all the way. He thinks his brother would be fine even though he knows that his father had been right Karma was damaged by the things they did on their missions. Though he knew there were reasons why they did what they did. They stood there at their mother's grave. Stephanie Manoso he breathed out as Sage spoke up. "She is proud of us." She would and he missed his mother more than anything.
About four years ago, one of their mother's enemies had shot their mother dead. Then he disappeared though both of them knew that his father had ended the man's life. His father never said it but was something they knew. They knew their father and how much he loved their mother. Jace father had also been knocked down when she had been killed. The boys knew about Joe and their mother. They had heard about all the adventures their mother was on and how she had been with Morelli but in the end, had chosen their father. Gage spoke up. "Bro, I think the only time mom was disappointed with us was when we did stupid shit in school and got in trouble. Oh well and when I stole that car." He had done that at sixteen hanging with the wrong people one night and got himself arrested and was amazed he didn't get stuck in Juvie.
Sage laughed as they laid the flowers they brought to their mother. They had also laid down some on Jace's mother. A woman nun has them met. It had been a woman who was dating Morelli who got pregnant. She had been an orphan, so she had no family but in the end, she died giving birth. She was still the reason Jace was here, and he always thanked her for that. They walked to the truck as he started to drive to Newark to get his brother on the plane he had to get back to the army base.
They stopped to pick up Jace they spent that time joking around and talking about old times when they were in high school. They had fun and they had given their mother stress. Their father they swore would see a smile even if it was for a second. Mom always got on to him smiling at their antics. The three of them had been called "The Three Musketeers." by a lot of people. It was always in town if you saw one you saw all three. Unless they were on a date or doing a chore for their parents.
On their way back to Trenton. Jace had slumped and was sleeping. They had just come back from their last mission, and it had been a hard one. They were back to being civilians. Jace and he had decided to become bounty hunters. Their fathers were letting them choose their own path. He looked at Jace as he waited for the light to change. He had a crush on him but had never done anything about it. They had been best friends since they were five. They had gone through everything together and he didn't want to screw that up.
His family and friends knew that he was bisexual. Jace was too, but he was more quiet about it. He seemed to date girls more or mostly they just had one-night stands. They didn't want to get into a romance with anyone while they were in the military. Then he thought about the irony of the fact that both their fathers were romantic with his mother. Though he just couldn't stop feeling what he felt. It would be easier if they could choose who they wanted to be in love with than if it just happened.
They had not really been sure what to do after the Navy. Gage thought about it, maybe it was time he spent less time with Jace maybe that crush would fade away. He had decided to join the PD after Jace had decided to work for Vinnie as a bounty hunter. Jace was shocked but accepted Gage's choice. Vinnie Plum was still the main person who ran the band office. Aunt Connie was still the woman you see when you enter. They knew what Vinnie was all about and how much a pervert he was. It was amazing that his son had come out so normal.
Theo was about one year younger than them. There was also Theo who was Uncle Tank and Aunt Lula's son. The two had become friends which had been interesting to see. When they had graduated high school, both had become cops. Throughout school, the two of them hung out with his twin and Jace. So all but Sage the group probably would be hanging out again. Playing some poker and watching some games.
Thought tomorrow he had to go to the PD. He was starting as a patrol officer so that worked for him. It was going to be very little like being a Navy Seal. He knew that adjusting was going to be strange. His father had told him and Jace if they wanted advice they could always come ask. Jace was living with his dad for now. Gage was taking an apartment at Rangerman that worked for him. He didn't need anything fancy, just a place to sleep. Jace said he was going to get his own place at some point. Though for now, they probably are watching games at Theo's house. He had married his high school first love after graduating they had two kids, one was six and one was five. Both are just as wild and crazy as their grandmother Lula.
