A/N: Eb is tired, but needs to get back in the process of creating crap. So, here's this thing.

Also, the majority of this is probably going to be related to the Age of Calamity based dnd campaign I'm playing in, cause that's where my head is at these days. So get ready for a lot of Tyll. And no, I will provide no context. Shush and enjoy it

Isek opened his eyes, looking up blearily. Above him, a black-feathered, blue-eyed Rito peered down at him. The corners of his beak were turned down in a decidedly unpleasant frown. A stark contrast to the warmth and relief of the healing magic coursing through him.

With a groan, he sat up, causing the Rito to retreat behind a nearby rock. Confused, he looked around, spotting another figure with bright orange hair diving into a nearby copse of trees and out of sight. What he noticed next was the corpses of Bokoblins strewn about. Some were riddled with arrows, burned, bruised, and one had even been split down the middle. However, Isek didn't really have time to consider any of this as an unmasked Yiga and a Goron caught his attention.

"You alright?" The Yiga asked with an easy smile.

"Yes," Isek answered as the day's events finally started coming back to him. He'd been traveling on the road when a group of Bokoblins had happened across him. He'd been drawing his weapons to defend himself when he'd felt a sharp pain in his head and everything had gone dark. "Thank you! I thought I was done for."

"No problem." Had the Yiga and his Goron friend just taken a step back?

"I live nearby." Yes, they had definitely taken a step back this time. "I don't have much, but I'm willing to compensate you if you -"

"That's okay, we'll be on our way now," the Yiga replied as he and the Goron no longer tried to hide it as they hurried away.

Isek stared in shock for a moment, swearing he saw the pale, orange-haired figure following after them. He stared for a moment before remembering the Rito who had healed him. Turning back toward the rock, he was just in time to see the Rito leaping off it and taking flight.

"Ugh… Thanks again!" Isek called to the retreating figures. Rubbing his head, he tried to make sense of what had just happened. He was no stranger to peculiar individuals, but he'd never met any quite so strange as them, and never so many at once. What had to happen to a person to make them so good at killing monsters but so afraid of conversation.

Isek climbed to his feet and dusted himself off. Surveying his surroundings once again, he found himself impressed by their handiwork. He wasn't experienced in the art of combat himself, only having received minimal training with a sword and shield. Even so, he could tell that it hadn't been much of a battle. Whether they had taken the monsters by surprise or simply rushed them, the adventurers had dealt with them swiftly. And, from what he had seen, there'd been barely a scratch on any of them.

As he studied one of the bodies, something struck him, but he couldn't quite put a finger on it. Finally, after a few seconds, it finally struck him. There was the shadow of a large figure dominating the space. Following it to its source, he found a Zora standing on a cliff overhead, hands on her hips as she stared at him with a mix of concern and interest.

He eyed her in confusion before slowly pointing toward where the adventurers had disappeared, an unasked question in his expression.

She looked down the road for a moment before returning her gaze to him. The Zora shrugged before walking in the direction they had disappeared.

"... Thanks?" Isek said weakly as she too disappeared.

A/N: Yes, this was something that happened in a session.
