Halloween 1981

It had been storming all night. Very fitting for halloween. James was downstairs with Harry and his friend, Katie. James and Lily had known the girls parents since going to Hogwarts. Both families had also joined the Order of the Phoenix and met up fairly often.

'Lily!' James shouted

'Yes dear?' She replied

'It's time' He said

The Order of the Phoenix had known Voldemort was planning to attack today. James had gone and let Harry say bye to Katie. As he took Katie home, Voldemort struck. He immediately apparated back home, without Katie. Katie and her parents were worried. Her dad was a muggle but was still an important member of the Order of the Phoenix.

He had given them information about the British government. Who he was apart of. Katie, whilst only being a year old, she had somewhat of an idea of what was happening. She was worried for Harry.

Harry didn't know all of it, but a fair bit, Everyone had tried to act normal around him as to not scare him. Members of the Order had been stationed in and around the Potter household to hold off Voldemort.

Voldemort had taken down the Aurors and Order members. He had gotten into the house. But with the combined effort of Lily and James with love. They drove out Voldemort, thus, Harry had never been turned into a Horcrux.

He was still the boy-who-lived as Voldemort attempted to send a killing curse towards Harry but it didn't affect him.

Voldemort fled, not wanting to lose his power. He had lost a lot of followers however, as the first war had ended that night.

Everyone knew Voldemort would return. Including the ministry. The ministry had placed Aurors around the Potter house 24/7 after that day.

September 1st, 1991

Harry was ready to go to Hogwarts, his mum had to go and work in Wales so couldn't come with them. He said goodbye to her and went with his dad to King's Cross. James hadn't been here in forever. But he still knew how to get into the platform. On the way, they ran into the Weasley family. Molly and Arthur had been in the Order of the Phoenix. So they knew James well. Harry and Ron took a liking to each other and became friends that day.

On the platform, Harry couldn't wait to find Katie. He hadn't seen her in a few months and had missed her. Katie was a little older than him but they had been friends for ages.

Harry said goodbye to his father and entered the train, he eventually found Ron in a compartment by himself and decided to join him.

'How are you mate?' Ron asked Harry

'Good, how about you?' Harry replied

'Amazing, I can't believe we finally get to go to Hogwarts' Ron said

'It does feel pretty good' Harry said.

In the train journey, a girl had came in asking if anyone had seen a toad as a boy named Neville had lost one. She introduced herself as Hermione Granger. Harry could tell that Ron didn't like her.

'She was strange' Ron commented

Towards the end of the journey Katie had came past and saw Harry.

'Harry!' Katie said excitedly as he got up and hugged her.

'How are you doing Katie?' He asked her.

'I'm doing amazing, thank you' She replied

Katie was around his height. She had black hair and green eyes. Harry thought she had changed a bit. Given as he hadn't seen her for a while. They chatted for a bit and Katie eventually left to go find her friends. Harry sat down and Ron stared at him.

'You know her?' Ron asked curiously

'Yeah, she was an old family friend and I haven't seen her for a few months.' Harry replied.

'Was her family apart of the Order?' Ron said

'Yeah, her mum is a witch and her dad works for the British government and they were apart of the Order.' Harry said

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizard

As the train stopped in Hogsmeade station. Hagrid called all first years towards him. The boy called Neville had eventually found his toad with help from Hermione.

As they approached the school. Harry wondered what this year had in store for him.

The first years had entered the great hall. Harry was intimidated. He could her whispers all around him. They approached the sorting hat and it sang its song.

After the applause, first years were called up.

'Bones, Susan' Professor McGonagall called.

As the sorting hat was placed down on her head, it shouted 'Hufflepuff'.

'Malfoy, Draco' Professor McGonagall shouted.

Immediately as it touched Malfoy's head he was sent to 'Slytherin'

Harry and Ron had taken a disliking towards Malfoy. Malfoy had shown his selfishness and arrogance to them as they entered Hogwarts.

'Ten more' McGonagall said under her breath

'Bell, Katie' she called.

It took a while for her to be sorted but eventually she was put into Gryffindor. She hoped that Harry and Ron were put into Gryffindor.

'Weasley, Ron' McGonagall called.

He was also eventually put into Gryffindor as to join his brothers. Now it was his turn.

'Potter, Harry' McGonagall called.

The sorting hat had taken a while whilst it spoke to him.

'Gryffindor' it shouted as a great applause came from the Gryffindor table. Harry went to sit between Katie and Ron. Everyone was excited to shake the famous Harry Potter's hand. He could hear the Weasley twins shouting 'We got Potter'.

The feast was great. Harry talked with Katie and Ron and his family. He had a great time. Now it was time for the Prefects to take the first years to their common rooms. Percy stood up for Gryffindor, he was one of Ron's older brothers. He beckoned for the Gryffindor first years to follow him, as they reached the portrait of the Fat Lady, she greeted them.

'Caput Dracis' he said and the portrait swung open. The common room was big. It had two stair cases at the back. One to the boy's dormitory and one to the girl's dormitory. There was a fireplace to the right side of the common room and portraits on the wall of the left side.

A/N - That's it for this chapter. More characters will be introduced in the future. But right now, I'm done. Yes. This will be a Harry/Katie fanfic. However I may make Harry date more than two girls.
