Brave Heart.
She had always prided herself on a life well lived. Now back in London she knew there was no way she was going to meet her Doctor again but she couldn't help but hope that maybe he thought of her occasionally and maybe just maybe he was a little bit proud of her and the life she had created. Sighing she pulled her jacket on and headed out of the house, knowing her friend would be waiting for her.
"You ok?" The younger woman asked as she got in the car.
"Yes. You?"
"Always." Her companion smiled.
"Ace, do you ever? No, ignore me. I'm being silly." She sighed as Ace pulled the car out into the London traffic.
"No, go on. Do I ever what? Think of the Doctor? Course I do." She sighed. "Why do you think I jumped at the chance to work with Kate Stewart? UNIT. Its a link isn't it?"
"Whatever Doctor is out there. It won't be our Doctor. Not now." Tegan sighed as she looked out the window. Ace nodded. She knew her friend was right but she still hoped that somehow, whatever the Doctor was doing they had friends, that they were having adventures in time and space. Just as it should be.
"You never know." Ace smiled to herself.. "Kate may have been in contact."
"Yeah." Tegan agreed before closing her eyes for a moment as she remembered that she was about to start work for one of the most secret agencies on the planet. She whispered to herself, "Brave heart, Tegan. Brave Heart."
