Gage was on his lunch that afternoon. He had grabbed a sub sandwich and a soda. He sat between his mother's grave and his great-grandmother's Edna's grave. He took a bite as he thought about some of the things he heard about his great-grandmother Edna thinking she would have been a blast to hang out with. His mother had been gone for four years, and he missed her. There were times that he went to her for advice.

Right now he would love to hear that advice. Though he knew that what his mother would say if she wasn't here. She would say go to his father. "I guess I could go to Dad for advice Mom." He laid back on the ground as he stretched his body out for a second. "I think Jace is getting annoyed with me for avoiding him. To be honest I think your advice would be straight up telling me to confess my feelings to Jace and then go from there."

He sighed set up and finished his food. When he saw his father coming up the hill and laughed out softly. Sending dad to me are you mom? That was probably exactly what happened. She sent a thought to him wherever she was. His father crouched down and touched his mom's grave. Then set down the flowers cleaning the dead ones into a small plastic bag. "Gage, I swear you visit your mom more than I do. I was her husband. I think you're trying to show off kid.:" Gage laughed.

Mom told him once that his father didn't talk a lot. He still didn't talk as much. Though his mother said he talked less. She said it had to deal with raising twins who always wanted to get their father to play with them. He laughed and smirked. "No, Dad we are never gonna outdo you when it comes to how much you love Mom." He took the bag with the dead flowers adding to his own trash. "I like to come and talk to her. I always feel closer to her here, not sure why."

Ranger set down on the ground in his usual workout fit. "Your mother was always good at giving advice. She was always someone I went to as well when I needed help or sometimes just wanted to hear what she had to say." Gage nodded to his mother and breathed out. "I miss her but I know she would tell me to come to you when I needed the advice." He breathed out. "I know you probably already know how I feel about Jace. I've been avoiding him because I swear every time I think I am just gonna tell him."

His father had accepted his son that he liked girls. Then Ranger spoke up. "Son, I have always told you and Sage to follow your gut. If your gut is pressing you to tell Jace, then do it. It's gonna go one way or the other. You're not gonna lose a friend this is what Jace was talking about. I know if he said no you respect his answer. " Ranger stood up as he looked at Gage. "Come on, let's head out. He looked down at his great-grandmother Enda's grave. " Remind me to get some flowers up here for Edna." He nodded to his father.

He followed his father their trucks were next to each other. Gage thought he was twenty-seven years old. He had fought for his country. He had done missions that needed to be done. He was a grown man, but he still needed his father. He figured he would always need his father. He did a complicated handshake with his father as he got into his truck. After work, he takes Jace up on playing a basketball game and then maybe talks to him. Gage's gut was tugging on him so hard to the point he wasn't sleeping well. Shite was gonna half to confess to his best friend.

Gage stood on the basketball court. There was no one out here at the moment. Then he felt something grab the back of his neck. Jace spoke up. "It's been hard as hell to get some time to hang out. What the hell is up with you? I know you're not working every day or like twelve hours a day man. " That was when Gage turned around. Grabbed the back of Jace's neck and kissed him. The next thing was Jace kissing him back as he moved his face back blushing as he mumbled something no one could understand. He stepped back as he rubbed his face.

Gage rubbed his face and breathed out. "I freaking like you and not just as my best friend. I've been holding off telling you cause that wasn't something we needed to deal with when we were soldiers. Then in school, I was unsure about myself. I have always had a crush on you since our freshman year of high school." He had said it really fast.

Jace walked over to him and looked at him. "Can't say I have a crush on you. Though I can say that it never comes to mind what it is like to kiss you." Jace smirked at him. "So I say we can give it a shot. We know each other and trust each other. We can test it out, and if it works it does. If not, then we go back to just being straight friends. " Jace shoved a basketball into Gage's chest as he walked to a spot on the court. "Come on Masoso let's get going I want to kick your ass." Gage snorted and said. "Like you could." Then the game started.
