Danny Phantom Teacher!AU was based on a filler comic that I drew. It was then expanded on this fic. You can find my comic on Webtoon titled "Amity Thereafter".

Danny wasn't prepared to be late to class. As a student, he used to be constantly late at Casper High, but as a teacher, he couldn't afford to risk his career. This was his first job at a new school and he was nervous.

He knew the first impression could either make or break the purview of young perceptive kids in his class. He made sure he had his tie ready. Shirt and pants ironed smoothly, but he had forgotten to put on his belt this morning. His pants drooped a bit down to his waist. He managed to pull and tuck his shirt in to make it less obvious.

His eyes surveyed for the plate number on every door as he hurried down the corridor towards his class. One hand clutching a batch of photocopied papers and a folder containing the new teaching materials that he had prepared a few days ago. Finally, he spotted the room number.

You can do this, Danny! He assured himself as he gripped and twisted the doorknob.

One full swing of the door, sounds of clamor flooded the classroom. The moment he stepped in, every eye transfixed on him. Soon after, all the kids quieted and went back to their seats.

"Good morning, class. Sorry for being late.", he walked towards the teacher's desk with an awkward grin and placed all the materials on top. He then picked up a marker and wrote his name a bit shakily on the board in all caps - MR. FENTON. "My name's Danny Fenton, you can call me Mr. Fenton. I'll be teaching you all about ectology. As you all know, ghost attacks can happen to anyone or any place that the ghosts choose to haunt. Therefore, the school has mandated all students to learn the basics about ectology. Before we begin our lesson, any questions?"

A girl raised her hand.

"Yes? The student who raised your hand. What's your name?"

"Lisa, " answered the girl. "What's ectology?"

"Ah, good question. Ectology is the science of ghosts. Ectology covers a huge expanse of fields including ectobiology, ectophysics, ectotechnology, ghost hunting, public safety, and so on. As for this class, we'll only cover the basics."

Another kid raised his hand.

"Yes, the student over there?" Pointing his finger at the kid.

"Elmer, " answered the chubby kid. "So, are we seriously gonna learn about ghosts as one of our subjects?"

"Yes."

"That's dumb, " Elmer rolled his eyes. "Everyone knows ghosts aren't real."

Surprised by the response, Danny asked, "None of you kids have ever seen a ghost before?"

"We've seen videos about it but we've never seen one up close," another kid said.

Danny pondered a bit and realized that this young generation of kids here had never encountered a ghost before. Ghost attacks had been getting scarce compared to 7 years ago, since the establishment of the truce between the ghost zone and the world of the living. Nowadays, the rate of hauntings varied from one state to another. And the town that he's currently in had the lowest rate of hauntings in the country. So, it's no surprise that these children had never seen one. Even if they had, they were probably too young to recall.

"Well, believe it or not, ghosts are real and that is why I'm here to teach you on this subject matter, " he declared and picked up the stack of photocopied materials to distribute to every student. "So, let's begin our first lesson."

Elmer groaned but Danny ignored him and continued distributing.

It's recess time. Elmer was having lunch at the school cafeteria with his group of friends - Jimmy, Lisa, and Denver.

"Hey, guys, you know that new teacher who came to our class?" Jimmy asked as he adjusted his glasses on his face.

"Yeah, Mr. Fenton," said Elmer. "He teaches dumb subjects about ghosts. What about him?"

"I heard he used to work at FentonWorks in Amity Park before he comes to this town."

"FentonWorks?"

"It's an infamous workshop run by a family of mad scientists who invented lots of crazy ghost hunting weapons. They believed in ghosts and they're practically a family of nutcases who would get excited over the spooks and stuff. There were times they even tried to convinced the whole world of their conspiracy."

Denver, the tall boy sitting across Elmer, raised his brow, "A family of nutcases? Well, that explains why he's here to teach us about ectology, but this is ridiculous. Why does the school allow him to come?"

"Beats me. All I know is that he's one of the few accredited teachers to teach this subject because of his background."

"No shit, " Elmer scooped a big spoonful of mashed potato into his mouth. "So, what kind of freaky things he wants us to learn exactly? So that we'll become like him?"

Lisa, who had been sitting next to Elmer spoke, "You know what? We should get him kicked out. He gives me the creeps."

Elmer almost choked. "Whaaat, are you serious?!"

"Didn't you guys notice the scar and bruises on his pale-looking hands? I don't know how he got it but they're disturbing to look at."

"Now that you mention it... Yeah, it looks like a Lichtenberg scar," said Jimmy.

"A what?" Elmer had a puzzled look on his face.

"A Lichtenberg. It's like a scar caused by lightning or electric shock," explained Jimmy.

"Ouch. I bet he's a certified mad scientist experimenting on himself or torturing some lab animals. How else would he have gotten the scar?" said Elmer, nodding himself as he imagined his teacher being a villain like one in comic books.

"Whatever, " said Lisa while stirring her orange juice with a straw before taking a sip. "I don't like him here."

"Hey guys, I have an idea, " said Denver with a smirk. "What if we make him quit teaching?"

"How are we supposed to do that?" Elmer asked before stuffing himself another mouthful of mashed potato.

"We'll have to get him in trouble or make him hate teaching us. And here's what we should do."

They all huddled together and cooked up a sinister plan to get rid of their teacher. It didn't take them long to start circulating rumors about Danny in the school through social media.

It's late evening after class. Danny was relieved that his first day at school went smoothly. He packed his bag and was ready to go home. It's been a while since his last fight with a ghost. Back in Amity Park, he would meet one or two every month, but right here in this town, it seemed so peaceful. It's so peaceful that news about ghosts was almost non-existent. He wondered why this town hardly ever had any ghosts lurking. Was it because there were hardly any natural ghost portals appearing here? Or was it because this town was blessed with a natural ghost shield? Whatever the case be, it felt like living in the past when nobody knew him. A time when the Phantom was never heard of.

He walked out of the teachers' room and turned off the lights. Everyone had already left and gone home. "Well, time to head back to my apartment, " he said to himself. "I'm going ghost!"
