My dearest friends,

As I sit at my desk, pen in hand, the soft glow of the lamp casting shadows across the paper, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey that has unfolded before us. These past few years have been nothing short of miraculous, filled with adventures that many would scarcely believe. And yet, here I am, a witness to it all, chronicling the extraordinary lives of those who have become not just subjects of my writings but dear friends and companions.

This morning, Lord John Roxton, Marguerite Krux and Professor Challenger set off on their journey back to our own world. Watching them leave was bittersweet. They're off to face the hustle and bustle of the 1920s, while Veronica and I have decided to stick around here a bit longer.

But we won't be staying in Avalon forever. We've got plans to catch up with the others. I can't help but wonder how Veronica will take to the big cities, with their cars, their crowds, and their relentless pace. It'll be a world away from the wilds of this lost world.

The future beckons with open arms, a narrative yet to be written, filled with possibilities and the promise of new adventures. As Veronica and I prepare for our own journey to the world outside, I am reminded of the words of Professor Challenger – "There is no adventure too great, no mystery too deep, that the heart and mind cannot explore together."

So here's to the next chapter, to whatever comes our way. Life, as I've learned out here, is an adventure to be lived, and I'm ready for the next part of the ride.

Until then,

Edward T. Malone
