Chapter 1: A Recurring Terror
The chapter where his story originally ended, but where our story begins.
A.N: Since I've seen there are very few Scary Damien fanfictions, I decided to do my own. The first chapter may disappoint some people for the absence of many characters, but for the sake of the story, and also cause for some of them I have no ideas on what to do with them, some fan favorites may be lacking presence here.
I would also talk about the fact that, yes I have seen the leaks and I know the teams for the next season.
I do not like what I saw, but still, I'm gonna try to make this fic fit into the canon of both season 1 and whatever will happen in season 2. As a result, some things might look forced but I'm going to make the best effort I can to make the events of this fanfiction to be more fluent.
I also would like to clarify that English is not my first language, so I might make some grammatical errors here and there, sorry :(
Abandoned summer camp in Muskoka (Canada)
09:58 PM
"Damien! You've been voted off!" Chris announced giving Ripper the last marshmallow, leaving Damien empty handed.
"You saved our lives, so I convinced everyone to vote for you!" said Priya approaching a confused Damien.
"We know it's what you wanted. It's our way to say thank you!" Millie added.
"Aww, it's a happy ending! I don't care for that. Damien! Follow me to the Dock Of Shame, please." Chris said while leading the way to the place mentioned.
The boy sadly followed the host, being mad at himself for what just happened.
"When I wanted to be voted off, no one would do it. Then, I change my mind about wanting to leave and… ugh, irony is a cruel, cruel-" Damien couldn't finish his sentence due to the Drone of Despair grabbing him by the head.
"AH! THIS IS NOT SAFE!" he shouted while flying away from the island.
He continued screaming in terror for his life, fearing that the drone might lose the grip and let him fall from miles into the ocean full of sharks.
Playa Des Losers
10:20 PM
Fortunately for the boy, the drone didn't let him go. At least, not in the water.
He was dropped on a little island, that seemed to be way better than the camp he was coming from. He looked around, trying to figure out where he ended up.
The boy kept walking in what seemed to be a resort at full effect. He walked around for a minute or two, but that for him felt like an hour of complete disorientation and fear caused by all the emotions that he went through that day, and by the anxiety that he might have ended up in a place where he was not supposed to be.
His fears disappeared immediately when a familiar voice called him from the door that led to the hallway of the resort.
"Hey Damien! Over here!" A female voice shouted in a passive aggressive manner.
Damien recognized that voice, it was Axel's.
The boy turned his head to where he heard the voice coming from, just to be greeted with Axel's usual face, that showed no emotions and that was always able to make everyone feel intimidated.
"Axel? Why are you here? Why am I here?! What is this place?!" Damien had so many questions, but Axel didn't care enough to give too many complex explanations.
"This is where us losers must stay. Down to the left there's your room. Here." Axel said coldly while giving Damien the keys for his new room.
"Oh... uhm, thanks?" Damien didn't want to sound rude, but the way that Axel often treated others wasn't exactly the best. Sure, they were on the same team while on the island of tortures, but they didn't have much time to talk since the survivalist was booted off very early.
As soon as he received his keys, Damien saw Axel turning around where she came from and enter her room, slamming the door aggressively.
The boy followed the instructions Axel gave him and walked to his room.
He was still thinking about what happened just half an hour ago on the island…
"Stupid, stupid, stupid! Why didn't you tell them?! Of course, they booted you off! That's what you asked them to do for 3 days!" He thought to himself while opening the door to his room.
He entered, and what he saw was the room of anyone's dreams.
Super comfy, big bed, candle lights, a nice view from the window that faced to the pool of the resort. There was even a player with a CD full of relaxing music.
"You know, in retrospect, being eliminated might not be as bad as I thought" Damien said to himself before jumping on the bed, happy to finally be able to sleep on something that wasn't putting at risk his spine.
"Man, this bed is so good! Now I kinda feel bad for my teammates still on the island… kinda" he said stretching himself.
"Y'know, now that I think about it… oh no." he held on that thought, realizing something terrifying.
"If Axel is here, and I'm here… does that mean that… she's here too?" He said to himself with a weak voice, perfectly knowing the answer.
As soon as he finished that sentence, he heard some giggles from the hallway. He rushed immediately to close the door shut.
He perfectly knew who those laughs belonged to.
Ever since he arrived on the dock of the island, Damien could tell that he would have shared the same place with some… interesting people to say the least. But still, he didn't think too much about them, since he didn't even speak to anyone, aside from Chris.
However, immediately after he arrived, almost like a living curse, a girl stepped on the dock making quite an entrance. That girl in question would have been his worst nightmare for 4 days, and now it seems like she came back to haunt him.
That girl was Lauren. Or, how he and everyone else referred to her, Scary Girl.
There was a reason of why that name was given to her by the boy. The girl didn't even reach the dock and she was already making clear that she would have been everyone's biggest fear.
The intern that was driving her to the island had a terrified look on his face, and when the girl was finally on the island, she was able to make the host creep out almost immediately.
Fortunately for Damien, he didn't have to share the same cabin with her, but that wasn't the biggest problem. The problem was when they were part taking in challenges.
Question for a million dollars: what could ever happen if you leave a psycho that enjoys seeing people getting hurt, be also a contestant in a show with almost deadly challenges? Well, the answer is pretty clear, and Damien experienced it in first person.
The last day the girl was on the island, before being booted off, instead of helping with the challenge, she was chasing Damien with a jackhammer.
And the fact that the person that almost killed him was on the same island as him again, sure wasn't a pleasant discovery.
The giggles from the hallway stopped, some steps could be heard, very close to Damien's door…
"Oh God, oh God, oh God!" Damien started praying silently
"Please, if you let me live, I'll help every single person with science work! Even someone like Ripper! But please don't let her find meeee!"
…
The steps stopped. A door could be heard being slammed and locked with the key.
Damien let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank you so much!"
He was safe for now, but he knew it wouldn't have lasted long before Scary Girl eventually found him.
He slowly approached his bed, just to fall on it, out of exhaustion. What could he do now? What would have happened the next morning? How was he going to live on the same place as hers, without risking his life.
The boy tried to ignore those intrusive thoughts and putted his head between the two pillows of the bed, hoping to get some sleep. Even if he was still shaking from everything that happened just that day, he was also very tired.
His eyes slowly closed, and against all odds, he fell asleep.
