Hello Everyone, its definitely been a while since I've been here but honestly, it feels good to be back. If this is is your first time here, My name is Jalwtoo2 and I'm here on this to work on my writing skills and because I've read just about every decent Naruto OC story and I want to give it a shot (for the second time). Please feel to comment with any questions, concerns, criticisms and anything. I appreciate it all and thank you for restarting this journey with me.

The one thing that is consistent in every person's life is death. Most people's actions, goals, hopes and dreams all revolve around doing something with their lives before they lose it. And at some point in their life, they begin to ponder and contemplate what'll happen. Heck, wars have been fought over it, but no one will know for sure 'till it's their turn.

Growing up, I've been told that there's some grand achievement in dying, the race finally finished and I get to rest or whatever Shakespeare said. My experience has been a little different though. I've been staring into this black abyss for what feels like an eternity, reliving each memory as to how I got here in the first place. It started out as a typical night, but obviously something happened or we wouldn't be here right now.

It was my little brother Avery's birthday, and my mother and I took him out to dinner like we do for every birthday. It was a huge deal for us because it was hard enough to make ends meet, but we always found a way to have the money to go out to dinner for our birthdays. It wasn't always like this, but everything changed when dad died.

From what I remember, he was fine till the day he got hospitalized with terminal lung cancer then it was just counting the days he had left. I always looked up to my dad. He was a strong yet caring man and I remember he would always find the time to do activities with us even though he was busy. I still can't believe it's been 10 years since he died.

Well anyway after he died it was almost as if mom left too. She went into a major depression and would rarely talk to us because we reminded her of him too much. She gained a serious alcohol addiction and basically left me with taking care of my little brother for the most part. She even left us for 5 months after a drunken haze slapped my little brother. I had to drop out and get a job to make ends meet for us. Ever since she came back she's been trying, but it's hard for both of us to forgive.

Anyways I've been saving up for the past few months to take Avery out and I really wanted to make this night a special one for him. Unfortunately I could only really afford to take him to Denny's that night. His favorite show was Power Rangers, so I bought him a Red Ranger onesie and a helmet from the show that I thought he would love. I was right and he didn't take it off for one second. As we left the restaurant, we walked past an alley where we saw a group of people jumping an old man. I saw Avery looking so i turned to him,

"Avery, don't stare, just keep your head down and your eyes forward. We're almost home" I whispered to him.

"But.. what they're doing isn't nice. We have to help him!" He replied, attempting to walk over to them. As I went to grab him, Avery suddenly yelled and the group.

"Hey leave him alone you meanies, that's not nice!" he said with all the volume he could muster in his 8 year old body. Panicked, I tried to pull him away, but the group already noticed us and started walking over to us.

"Hey kid, get out of here before you get hurt" one of the group said. He was wearing black pants, a black jacket and a ski mask covering his entire face except his eyes and mouth.

"He's sorry he's just a kid" I chimed in, trying to drag my brother away from this situation. "we're leaving right now-" I tried to say before I got cut off by one of the other thugs.

"Too late now, the kid didn't mind his business so now someone gotta pay" He said as two of the other guys grabbed my arms holding me so i couldn't move.

Another one of the guys walked up to me and punched me in the stomach. The air immediately escaped from my lungs as I collapsed. The others came over me and started kicking me.

"Leave him alone now" my little brother screamed rushing to me. As he went to grab me one of the guys pulled out a gun and pointed it at my brother.

"Back up kid, before I blast you!" the guy warned but Avery kept coming closer, tightly clutching the toy sword i had just given him.

" As the red ranger... it's my duty to defeat you right now!" Avery yelled as he charged towards the guys kicking me.

'BANG'

Time seemed to go in slow motion after that, I watched my little brother dash towards me stop as a growing red stain on his onesie grew bigger and bigger.

As he fell, each moment seemed to drag on forever as I was helpless to do anything. And when he fell, all sounds seemed to disappear as my throat grew hoarser from what I assume were my screams.

"Oh shit, you actually shot him?!" one of the goons shouted.

"Dude, he was a little kid" Another replied,

"Shut up, let me think!" the thug with the gun said. "We can just get rid of the body ourselves before the cops come," he said. The ease he said it infuriated me more than I could ever imagine it would.

"You guys are all gonna rot under the prisons. I'll make sure of it myself!" I yelled at the thugs.

"What are we gonna do about this guy?" someone questioned " It's not as if we can just let him go."

Without saying another word, the one with the gun turned towards me, pointed it at my head. Next thing was black and here we are now. I died and now I guess this is my eternity, blackness. I've been here rethinking my life, all the mistakes I've made and everything I wish I could've done differently. Well it's too late for me to do anything about it anyway.

Suddenly the every going blackness suddenly shifted to a room and I was suddenly sitting on a very comfortable couch. The room looked like a typical office room with a desk with a computer on it. A giant stack of papers on the side of it taking up half of the desk. The book shelves filled with books and on the side of the room was a very cozy fireplace.

At the desk in a brown cushioned rolling chair sat a being that I couldn't quite tell what exactly it was. It was humanoid in shape and its skin was luminescent with no facial features at all. The being was dressed in a black suit and tie diligently typing something not even acknowledging my presence in the room.

"Umm... hello?" I asked, still very confused as to what was going on. The being turned towards me to respond. I still couldn't make out any facial features on this person, but for some reason I could tell it had a confused expression on its face as well.

"What are you doing here, you shouldn't be here." The being responded in a deep baritone masculine sounding voice. Each syllable reverberated throughout my entire body.

" I was hoping you would know" I responded unsurely. "What is this place?" I questioned.

"Forgive me for my rudeness, I forgot to introduce myself, very well. My name is Mael and this is my office in the multiversal outreach station of the Omniverse." He smoothly responded.

"The what?" I asked, Mael shook his head and responded before I could finish.

"Nothing that you need to worry yourself with. Just that this isn't where should you be right now"

" And where am I supposed to be?" I asked

"Purgatory, you didn't qualify to make it to heaven, but for some reason you got shipped here instead" He replied calmly.

If I couldn't make it to heaven then what about my little brother? I began to freak out but Mael interrupted me before i could say anything,

"Well since you're here and I'm a good mood, let me offer you another option than purgatory"

"Option? Is there a way you send me to heaven?" I asked hopefully. Maybe then, I would be able to see my little brother again.

"No, I don't have the clearance to do that for you." He said shattering my hope and I could feel my mind starting to spiral. "Hear me out first, you may like my idea" He said.

"What's this proposal that you were thinking about?" I asked

"How would you like to be reborn in a different world with another chance at life?" He asked

"Well it's not like I have any other plans" I said dejectedly "I did die after all"

Perfect!" Mael chirped excitedly "I'll handle all the bureaucratic stuff for you and get you on your way. You're really doing huge favor"

" Wait! quick question... what kind of world would it be?" I questioned.

"Where's the fun in that?" He laughed and snapped his finger. Suddenly everything went black and I lost all feeling.

When I came to, I found myself on the bottom of a bunk bed in what looked like a shared living space as the room had two bunk beds in it and 4 chests with what looked like clothes. On one side of the room was an Adult sized mirror and what I saw in it completely shocked me.

Gone were my black hair and brown eyes replaced with medium length purple hair and obsidian colored eyes. My skin was also a caramel color a couple shades lighter than what it was before. The biggest change that I noticed was gone was my 22 year old body and now I looked to be the ripe old age of 8. The exact age of my brother, I look to be about his height too now that i think about it.

Pulling me out of my spiraling thoughts was a shrill shrieking coming from down stairs outside of the room I was in.

"Hikaru for the last time come downstairs before you're late for your first day!" I followed the noise to get more information of my surroundings. Walking out of the room, I entered what looked to be a dining room with a large table with 15 chairs around it. On the side of the room was a kitchen which looked to be the culprit of the screaming. IT was a middle aged lady who looked to be in her mid 30s. She was wearing a white apron over a purple skirt and white blouse. She had her hair in a tight black but and and an exasperated look on her face.

"Hikaru, what took you so long, you missed breakfast." I looked around and as we were the only two people I assumed she was talking to me and my name was Hikaru now. While not what I would've picked, I saw some potential in it.

"Don't just stare at me, hurry up and get ready. You're going to be late for your first day at the academy!" She croaked. Not wanting to get yelled at again, I rushed out a "sorry" and hurriedly went back to the room to put some clothes on.

When I went back to the room, I went to the chest closest to the bed I woke up on. Opening it up I took out the first shirt and pants I found in the chest and went to the mirror to put them on. What I ended up with was a pair of black trousers and a light blue short sleeved shirt. After confirming I looked decent I headed outside to figure out what and where this academy that lady was talking about.

When I stepped out of the building, I noticed that this place looked nothing like where I used to live before I died. The yellow dirt road was lined with multiple buildings with different color tops and signs written in a language that looked very similar to Japanese. The buildings that weren't small stores and street vendors looked like residential buildings. In the skyline was a mountain with 4 distinct faces.

It almost looked like a Japanese mount Rushmore when it hit me. Those faces looked very familiar, but I knew that this wasn't a place where I was from. I took a closer look at the people around me and noticed the different attires they had. They were wearing open toed sandals and some could be seen wearing green vests and silver headbands.

I couldn't believe it. There was no way Mael sent me to Naruto, there's so many things wrong with that. First could he even do that because Naruto is an anime in my world as in not real. and even if he could, out of all the forms of media on earth, he had to send me to one as dangerous as Naruto? Where if you aren't one of the main characters you're basically fodder for any of the various op people on this show. This couldn't be happening.

I felt my breath start to shorten and I began to hyperventilate. How am I supposed to survive here, I don't wanna die again. After 5 minutes of freaking out it hit me. The fact that I know this place, I need to use this to my advantage. I need to know where in the story I am and then figure out how I'm gonna get stronger so I'll never go through what happened to me again. I'll do more than survive here, I'm gonna thrive. But to do that I need to get stronger and so I ran off searching for the Academy.

Konoha village is a lot bigger than what they show in the anime and manga. I ended up getting lost and needed a very nice chunin to point out the right direction for me. I was just in time too, barely making it on time as the last person in the room.

"You weren't late but please don't make a habit out of this ok?" the Instructor said.

"I'm sorry it won't happen again as I sat down at an open chair. As I walked to my seat I made a mental note of the people in the class. Most of the kids, I didn't recognize but there was one kid in particular that stood out for me. A boy in a white, short-sleeved kimono-shirt with a martial arts belt and dark pants he had long hair in a braid, but his eyebrows were too bushy to fool anyone. It had to be Rock Lee, which meant that I'm still early in the timeline and a year older than the Konoha 9.

That also meant that both Neji and Tenten were both in this class too, but I would find them later because the instructor began to talk.

"Good Morning, Everyone! My name is Daikoko Funeno. I'm a chunin and I will be your sensei for the next couple of years, but you can call me Daikoko-sensei" he said. Daikoko was a fairly large man with brown hair and a goatee. He had on the standard uniform of a Konoha chunin with a green flak jacket and a forehead protector that he wore like a bandanna. " I hope everyone is as excited to start the school year as I am!" he cheered.

He then went on to start our very first lesson which was about chakra and what exactly it was. I was very grateful for this as I could use this to clear up some major questions I had about chakra.

How Daikoko-sensei explained it was that

Chakra is the combination of two different typed of energies, physical and spiritual energy. Physical energy is collected from each of the body's cells and can be increased through training, your body. Spiritual energy is derived from the mind's consciousness and can be increased through studying, meditation, and experience.

Strengthening these two energies will in turn make the created chakra more powerful. Therefore, practicing a technique multiple times will increase one's spiritual energy, allowing for more chakra to be created. As a result, the ninja is able to do that same technique with more power. This also applies for physical energy, except the ninja needs to increase their endurance instead.

Every ninja also has a maximum amount of chakra that they can form and use before it runs out and they need to rest to replenish it. With practice this maximum can be increased, but there are still hard limits to the amount of chakra that you can use based on biological factors.

With my first day done I headed home still thinking of the lesson and how I could apply it into my situation. Well I'm obviously not gonna be a chakra powerhouse like Naruto and I don't have a broken dojutsu like Sasuke does so what should I specialize in.

There were a lot of different types of jutsus in naruto, ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutstu, fuinjutsu, and weapon arts. Each had their own benefits and downsides so figuring out where to focus my efforts was stumping me. It was like I was starting a video game and needed to figure out what my starting class would be. Then I started thinking about what I needed.

The Naruto world was a very dangerous and unfair world where you could randomly be put up against the upper echelon of the verse on a random Tuesday. I needed to be able to control the fights and equal out the playing field for me. The first thing to pop in my head was fuinjutsu or seals, but those were very dangerous and hard for me to master now so while I practiced seals on the side, I would focus on genjutstu to manipulate my opponents. Obviously as I got stronger most wouldn't work, but hopefully by then my seals would be up to snuff. As I thought about it, I figured I would also need some type of melee weapon for when people got up close so I started looking for some weapon shops.

After about 20 minutes of walking, I stumbled upon a weapons shop named Hamura Blades, and decided to look at what they had.

In the store was a vast array of swords, kunai, explosive tags, and literally any other weapon you could think of. As I surveyed the store looking at potential weapon choices, I heard a voice from behind me.

"You look a bit young to be in a weapon shop" a voice squeaked. I turned around and in front of me was one of the girls in the class, she had brown hair, brown eyes and was wearing a red Chinese style kimono with a yellow trim on it.

"you look younger than me..." I deadpanned, naturally that didn't go well with her as her face turned red.

"I just started the academy and I'm gonna be a ninja as strong as Tsunade soon, so I'm almost an adult" She responded. I decided to take a closer look at her and I recall that she was in the class too.

'So this must be Tenten then because who else is going to a weapons shop at 8 years old'

"You're Tenten right?" I questioned.

"I guess you've already heard of me then" She snootily responded

"No, I'm in your class too." I stated. " My Name is Hikaru, nice to meet you" I replied.

"Ohh" She replied embarrassed. Her cheeks began to turn red. "Nice to meet you too" she blurted before running out of the store making me chuckle.

After a couple more minutes of window shopping, I started to return back to the orphanage to get some sleep for tomorrow. As I walked into my room, there was someone else in my room that made me stop in shock.

The boy had bright yellow hair to go with his pale skin and striking blue eyes. He had on an orange jumpsuit with the iconic red swirl on it. Each cheek was adorned with three small whiskers and on his head was a pair of green goggles. The boy looked me up and down before talking.

"What are you looking at ttebayo?" he said. "Do I got ramen on my face or something?"

No sorry for staring, I was just shocked" I replied, " My name is Hikaru it's nice to meet you"

"My name is Naruto Uzumaki and I'm gonna be the Hokage one day!" He screamed with a giant grin on his face. He also had his thumb up as he struck a pose. For a glimpse of a second he looked exactly like my little brother.

After about 3 years I'm a bit rusty but I'm really excited with what this story can become. The creative juices are really flowing and I'm seeing this world start to come to life in my head. As always feel free to reply or pm me and when i see it I'll try my best to respond. I said this on the other account, but I'm gonna push for 1-2 updates to this story a month and piece by piece put this world together. I hope you guys enjoy!
