Champter Eight: The Gang Together Again
After half an hour, Sonic and Amy finally make it back to the palace. The carriage stops, and Sonic gets off first. Then he turns, and he takes Amy's hand to help her off the carriage.
"Thank you for the wonderful day out, Sonic. I've really enjoyed it." Amy smiled.
"You're most welcome, Amy. I'll make sure to have plenty of ice cream ordered later." Sonic chuckled.
Amy couldn't help but chuckle back. After that, they both made their way inside the palace. As soon as they got inside the palace, Sonic and Amy saw Sally standing near the staircase, talking to this mysterious figure.
This figure was a male brown monkey with sky blue eyes, dark brown hair on top of his head, and he also wore a gold crown which sits around the crown of his head, and it has a ruby on the front middle.
"Uh, hello, Sally. May I ask who this is?" Sonic wondered.
"Oh, Sonic! You came back!" Sally exclaimed excitedly.
She then glared at Amy, and frowned at her.
"And lovely to see you back too." Sally stated with disgust.
Amy knew she wasn't very trusting towards her, but she didn't want to argue, so she nods her head.
"Nice seeing you, too." Amy lied.
"Again, Sally, who is this you're speaking to." Sonic again asked.
The monkey stood in front of Sonic, and extended his hand towards Sonic.
"Khan. Monkey Khan. PRINCE, Monkey Khan. A friend of Sally. Finally, it's a pleasure to meet you, Prince Sonic the Hedgehog. Sally spoke a lot about you." he replied.
Sonic glared at him for a few seconds. Then he shook his hand.
"Pleasure is all mine, good Sir. Not often has my fiancé mentioned, or invited any friends around." Sonic replied.
"Well, now that we're introduced, I should go and get ready. Because dinner time will be ready soon, and wouldn't want to be rude not to join in." Khan stated.
After that, he left to get himself prepared for dinner.
"I will do the same thing. Need to keep my beauty up. But be warned, Sonic. We are to be married soon, so I'll be keeping an eye on you. And ESPECIALLY you!" Sally stated, sternly.
After that, Sally made her way to her bed chambers to prepare herself for dinner.
"Seriously, what is her problem? I don't understand why she hates me so much." Amy wondered.
"I wish I knew, Amy. And that's why I know in my heart she's not the one for me. She clearly doesn't trust me, and I don't even know why." Sonic replied.
"She's right about one thing, getting prepped for dinner. I'll do the same thing, and I'll catch you in a moment." Amy smiled.
"OK, take your time, Ames." Sonic told her.
Amy stopped in her tracks, and turned to face Sonic. She smiled at him warmly.
"Ames. I love that nickname." Amy commented.
After that, she turned and walked to her bed chambers. Sonic smiled warmly back. One of Sonic's guards arrived next to him.
"Pardon the interruption, Sire. I came but only to warn you that your men, Tails and Knuckles have entered the palace to see you." the guard told him.
"You're excused. Thank you for letting me know." Sonic smiled.
And a few seconds later, an orange fox with blue eyes, and a red echidna with purple eyes have entered the room. Sonic approached the two of them, and shook the fox's hand, and pulled him into a brotherly embrace.
" Tail, my buddy! What's up, man!" Sonic exclaimed happily.
"All is well, my friend. Long time no see." Tails replied.
"And Knuckles, my man!" Sonic said.
Sonic gave him a high five, and hugged him also.
"Great seeing you too, Sonic." Knuckles smiled.
"It's great seeing you guys! I didn't even know you guys were coming!" Sonic stated.
"Well, you know us. We just wanted to surprise you." Tails explained.
"Especially when you're engaged right now." Knuckles added.
"Yeah, about that. My fiance isn't exactly who I thought she was gonna be." Sonic sadly mentioned.
"What do you mean?" Knuckles wondered.
"Well, something about her doesn't connect with me. The way she acts just makes me feel like I'm an item, not her Prince." Sonic explained.
"Oh, really?" Knuckles thought, worriedly.
"Well, regardless, Sonic, me and Knuckles have got your back. We always have, and always will." Tails smiled.
"I'm glad to have friends like you two. You've never let me down." Sonic smiled back.
"Always, man! And one day, us guys need to go out on adventures again. We explored places all the time. Definitely need to again." Knuckles stated.
"I would love that. Definitely." Sonic mentioned.
"Definitely brings us back memories." Tails thought.
He nodded his head out the front door. And the three walked outside to watch the sunset. They were all thinking about the memories of their adventures they all had together.

Tails placed a hand on Sonic's shoulder, and Sonic just looked at him.

It's been ages since we've gone out the town

When you're ready, we can go over right now

Tails then placed his other hand on Knuckles's shoulder as well, so that all three were in the same area.

(Tails singing)
You call the girls, I call the boys we'll pack stuff up and drive
Anywhere you want to go we'll be there tonight
We're fitful in the backseat, the cops come we'll hide

Tails took his hand off their shoulders, and he turned to face the wall which had a beautiful sea view. The sun shining in the water, and it looked like glitter sparkling.

Knuckles approached Tails, and stood next to him, also facing the beautiful sea view.

(Knuckles singing)
We'll hit the river, yeah
Skinny-dipping, while jumping off rocks
Out in the ocean, yeah
Putting blankets down under this boardwalk and kick it

Knuckles turned to face Sonic, and nodded his head towards the sea view, hinting for him to come over and have a look. And with no hesitation, Sonic walked towards the wall, and also looked at the sea view.

We'll live this up and throw that down with all of our best friends
We'll drop the top, and hit this spot where summers never ends
Because the great times and the peace of mind and only round the bend

Knuckles then hoped up, and stood on top of the wall, so he got a better view of the sea.

Tails also hoped up onto the wall with Knuckles to get a good view of the sea. They both looked back at Sonic.
"The view is great here, Sonic!" Tails stated.
"Hop up here, and have a look!" Knuckles advised.
Sonic could only smile at them.

And while the sun goes up
And it felt like this is the end
We could do it all over, over again

Sonic then jumped up on the wall with Tails and Knuckles. He took a look, and awed at the sighed of the view.

The three then jumped off the wall, and the three of them were grinding on a water spout, that lead towards the sea.

At the last split second, the three jumped off the side of the spout, just before where the water was.

The three then walked around the beach, exploring the area. This was the same area where Sonic first met Amy. Sonic smiled when he looked at the rock where she was sitting, the first time he met her.

(Tails and Knuckles singing, Sonic improvising)

Knuckles picked up a rock, and looked towards the ocean.

(Knuckles exclaims)
Here we go, baby

Knuckles then threw the stone towards the ocean, and the stone did at least six skips.

(Tails singing, Sonic improvising)

I will rack these backpacks and pass them to you

After that, all three of them chuckled.
"You're right, guys. After my wedding, and honeymoon, we should arrange another adventure together. This brought back great memories." Sonic stated happily.
"Knew you'd see it our way!" Knuckles happily responded.
"I'll have our vehicle ready for that day." Tails stated.
They all nodded in agreement. And after that, all three of them proceeded to return to the palace, as dinner was to be ready fairly soon.
