Volume 7:
Chapter 34: Peace Is The Way
1 year later….
We see Sam training with the sword.
He was practicing various sword fighting techniques.
But then when pointing the sword at some boxes, a magic beam shot out of it!
Sam went wide-eyed.
Sam asked, "did I just do that?!"
Revan appeared and said, "yup."
Sam jumped in surprise.
Revan chuckled and said, "sorry."
Sam said, "it's okay Grandpa, but what I just did, does it mean what I think it means?"
Revan said, "the sword emitting that blast means that you've formed a strong bond with the blade."
Sam looked at the sword in his hands.
He said, "woah."
Sam then turned to look at Revan and asked, "does this mean I can finally do what I wanted to do with the sword?"
Revan said, "I believe so."
"Then I think it's time to undo the damage the Empire has done to various planets", Sam said.
Revan nodded.
He asked "which planet do you think would be the best place to start?"
After a moment of thinking, Sam said, "Geonosis. That'll improve relations with the Geonosians."
Revan smiled and pats Sam's head.
Sam smiled at his ancestor.
"I'll go tell the others", Sam said.
Revan nodded as he vanished.
Sam then begins to head to the command center.
….
We then see the StarRunner exit hyperspace as it is now above the planet of Geonosis.
Sam said, "here we are. Geonosis."
One battle droid, who had a missing eye, said, "Sir. We're preparing our landing sequence once we find a place to land."
Sam said, "very good, Blinky."
Blinky said, "thanks sir."
Each droid seemed to have a name now. Sam saw them as people. Not machines.
And that was a shock to the droids, as they were so used to being treated as machines.
But Sam had given them a chance at a free life.
And the droids were grateful.
The StarRunner soon found a place to land.
After the ship landed, Sam made his way towards the ramp.
He stood with his beloved's, Leia, Luke, Padme and Eda
Sam held the sword in his hands.
The ramp lowered as they saw the war torn landscape of Geonosis.
Sam held the sword tighter in his hands as he hoped what he would do next would work.
He walked out of the ship and stood among the barren sand of the planet.
Sam then lifted the sword. He stabbed it into the ground.
At first nothing seemed to happen…. But then…. The sword began to glow!
Then it began to glow brighter as there was a big flash of light…. The damage the Empire and Republic had caused to Geonosis began to vanish.
Plant life began to appear.
Not a lot, but enough to sustain life.
Everyone watched in awe.
A waterfall began to spring from a cliffside into a small lake.
Sam then lifted the sword from the ground.
He sheathed it as he looked around.
"It worked", Sam said in awe.
The others all smiled.
"This will help all the planets who have suffered under the empire, with my magic I can restore them to their glory", Sam said.
Padme said, "I'm so proud of you, Sam."
Sam smiled and hugged his mother.
The others smiled at this.
Luke asked, "which planets are next?"
Sam said, "I have a few in mind. Lothal, Kashyyk, and if I can track down some other Mandalorians, Mandalore one day."
"I think Ahsoka is still in contact with Bo Katan", Leia said.
Sam said, "I'll have to speak with her then."
Verosika asked, "so shall we continue on restoring more planets?"
Sam nodded.
….
The group continued on their journey.
They went from planet to planet, restoring them.
All the planets' inhabitants were grateful.
They agreed to join the Rebellion in their fight against the Empire.
Now the Rebel army was growing even more.
They stood a better chance against the Empire.
Speaking of which, several of the restored planets offered to help the rebels build Star Destroyers.
Using the blueprints One-One had procured, this would allow the Rebel's to build modified Star Destroyers. A mix of the original Republic cruisers and the StarRunner.
Even the Mandalorians offered to help.
The ones they could find, anyway.
Sam felt that the war would soon come to an end.
There were only a few loose ends to tie up….
One, the Emperor.
Two, the last of the Imperial forces.
And three…. Han.
Sam hoped they could find Han soon, as he saw Leia really missed him.
She had told Sam she loved Han.
Sam felt so happy for his big sister, and he promised her they would find Han.
Leia was beyond grateful.
Another thing that was on Sam's mind that he was determined to do…. Was to free his father.
He was confident that Anakin Skywalker was under the suit of armor Vader wore.
And the only thing holding him in there was Malakis.
Sam vowed to defeat the Emperor.
He vowed to save his father.
Sam would make sure this would happen. He swore it.
Sam stared at the japor snippet he held in his hand. He gave a bittersweet smile. He really missed his dad and he couldn't stop worrying about him. Especially since he was still under Malakis' boot.
Sam utterly hated that monster.
He was pure scum. He was a being who did not deserve to exist. His evil needed to be stopped.
"Malakis…. You will face justice for the crimes you have committed", Sam said.
Sam held the snippet close.
"Sam?"
Sam turned to see it was Luke.
Sam said, "hey bro."
"I've been wanting to talk to you about something", Luke said.
Sam could sense it and said, "it's about the fight on Cloud City…. Isn't it?"
Luke nods his head.
Sam sat down and gestured for Luke to sit.
Luke then sat down.
Sam asked ,"so you now know the truth?"
Luke nodded once again.
Sam sighed and said, "I wanted to find the right time to tell you the truth…."
Luke asked, "so you knew all this time?"
"Yes…. I have known the truth since I was ten years old", Sam said.
Luke asked, "and you kept it a secret all this time?"
Sam said, "learning that Vader was our father nearly broke me as a kid…. I didn't want you to feel that pain…. But I always meant to tell you the truth some day…."
Luke could see it in Sam's eyes, he meant everything he said. Sam then held the snippet.
"Dad has truly changed, Luke…. He protected me during the time I was at his fortress", Sam said.
Luke said, "so I've heard."
"Luke, I'm sorry I kept this a secret from you", Sam said.
But then Luke hugged Sam. Sam was a little shocked by this.
"I can't be mad at you little brother…. You were just trying to protect me from the pain you felt when you learned the truth…. It's understandable", Luke said.
Sam hugged his brother and said, "I'm so sorry."
"I forgive you little bro", Luke said.
Sam smiled tearfully.
Luke began to wipe Sam's tears away.
Sam smiled at his big brother.
"I promise I will help you in saving our father", Luke said.
Sam's smile grew.
He hugged his big brother closer and said, "thank you Luke."
Luke said, "you're welcome, Sam."
The two brothers kept hugging each other..
….
Meanwhile….
Vader found himself standing in an endless darkness.
He began to look around and then he saw something.
He saw a more twisted looking version of Malakis.
Vader then saw Malakis holding…. Sam!
Vader yelled, "Sam!"
Sam struggled in Malakis' grip as he tried to get free.
Vader yelled, "let him go!"
Malakis cackled.
Sam shouted, "Dad! Help me!"
Vader ran towards the two. Then Malakis stabbed Sam with his lightsaber!
Vader yelled, "NOOOOOO-!"
….
Vader woke up, screaming, "-OOOOOOOO!"
Vader looked around and he realized it was a dream.
He was soaked in sweat as his breathing was shaky.
The dream felt so real.
It was like when he was having nightmares of his wife's death.
But he knew he couldn't act too quickly. Doing so is what caused Padme's death and his fall to the darkside.
He wouldn't allow the same thing to happen to his son.
He'd rather die than lose his sons.
Vader placed his hands on his head.
He gave a solemn sigh.
"Sam", Vader said quietly
He looked out the nearby window.
Vader promised that he would not let any harm come to his sons or daughter.
He'd do whatever it took.
Vader looked at the cloth bracelet Sam made for him.
It was so dear to him.
"I promise we will see each other again soon…. My son", Vader whispered.
Vader didn't get much else sleep that night.
He was worried about the future.
Namely the fate of his children.
Vader sighed.
He just wondered how he was gonna do it.
Vader then slowly fell asleep. Thankfully, he didn't have any more nightmares that night.
….
Back with the Rebels….
We see the group planning Han's rescue.
Thanks to Lando and Chewie, they'd tracked him down to Jabba's palace.
Now they needed a plan on how to sneak in.
Eda suggested she and Padme sneak in as dancers.
That way they can find a way for the others to sneak in.
Sam had some reservations about his mom and step mom dressing up in skimpy outfits.
He was worried Jabba or anyone else in his palace would take advantage of his mom and his step mom.
Eda reassured him that she could use Nightsister magic to protect herself and Padme.
That eased Sam's nerves.
So step one was to have Eda and Padme sneak in as dancers.
While they were in there, they would map out every part of the palace.
This would allow the others to figure out the best ways to get in.
It seemed they now had everything set.
They just had to find the best time to act.
But one thing for sure…. They will succeed in rescuing Han. Whatever it took.
Now the group began to map out how their plan would work and make sure there were no mistakes….
And their success would depend somewhat on Jabba's say in things.
And if anything were to go wrong…. Sam's husbands and wife would be the back-up plan.
Either way, the group had to think of every little thing that could go wrong or right.
This took them the whole day to plan everything…. Literally the whole day.
….
We then see Sam with his mom and step mom.
He said, "you guys will be going in with Lando. He's gonna be disguised as a guard."
Eda said, "I tried to convince Lilith to come in with us as a dancer, but she's a…. What's the word?"
Padme said, "prude?"
Eda nodded and said, "that's the word."
Sam rolled his eyes.
"Please be careful", Sam said.
Padme said, "we will. We promise."
Sam hugged his mom and step mom.
They hugged back.
"Mommies?"
The three turned to see Kane in Luke's arms.
Padme smiled at her other two sons, and Eda smiled at them as well.
Kane reached his arm towards his moms.
Eda picked her son up.
Kane hugs his mom. Eda smiled down at Kane. Kane giggled. Padme patted his head. Kane giggled even more.
Luke and Sam smiled at their half brother.
He was so adorable. Something he shared with Sam. They must've gotten it from Padme.
Kane babbled as he hugged Padme. Padme kissed her baby boy's forehead. Kane squealed in joy. Eda and Padme chuckled.
Sam and Luke smiled at the sight. It was so cute.
Kane yawned as he reached his arms towards Sam.
Sam picked his brother up and said, "looks like someone's ready for bed."
Kane snuggled against Sam as he kept yawning.
Sam and the others took Kane to his room.
Sam kept rocking Kane in his arms the whole way.
Once they got to Kane's room, they tucked the little guy into his bed.
Sam kissed his little brother on the head.
Kane smiled as he fell asleep.
Sam and the others smiled.
This was a perfect way to end their day….
