Chapter Twelve: The Truth Revealed
The maids were clearing up the dining hall, while Jules, Aleena, Tails, Knuckles, Cream and Tikal were still there talking to one another.
"Cream, and Tikal, I am very sorry that you had to see that." Aleena said.
"Sonic never usually acts this way." Jules added.
"No need to apologise, Your Highness. I completely understand why Sonic reacted like that." Cream insisted.
"I mean, I know he never would, but if Knuckles had done that to me, while we were engaged, I would have reacted the exact same way." Tikal explained.
"Well, you don't need to worry about that. We're married now." Knuckles kissed Tikal lovingly.
"And I'm engaged, so I got no excuse." Tails added.
"Yes, you are." Cream winked.
Suddenly, the doors open, and in came Sonic and Amy. Amy was holding onto Sonic's arm.
"Sonic? And Amy?" Knuckles wondered.
"Also, what happened to your hand, Sonic?" Tails wondered.
"It's just a little scratch, it's fine, don't worry about it. But first of all, Mom, Dad, Tails, Knuckles, Cream, and Tikal, I want to apologise for my behaviour earlier." Sonic apologised.
"Don't worry about a thing, Son. They're gone now. I sent them packing." Jules told him.
"Not a problem, Sweetheart." Aleena smiled.
"Also, I have a confession to say as well. And this may be hard to believe, so this is gonna be hard to explain, or hard for you to believe." Sonic started.
"Alright?" Jules curiously wondered.
"What do you want to tell us, Sonic?" Aleena wondered.
"Well, I am actually in love with Amy. I know that my heart tells me that, she's my true love, and I want to marry her." Sonic told everyone.
Everyone gasped at what Sonic just said.
"With Amy?" Aleena thought in surprise.
"But, Sonic! You know the rules about being a Prince, you HAVE to marry a Princess!" Jules stated in shock.
"But Dad, that's the thing, she IS a Princess!" Sonic confessed.
"She's a princess?!" Tails exclaimed in shock.
"But, that's impossible! We've never seen her before!" Knuckles added.
"I know every single Princess!" Cream mentioned.
"But we have never seen, or met her!" Tikal added.
"What game are you playing at here, Sonic?" Jules asked.
"It's not a game, I swear!" Sonic pleaded.
"I really am a Princess!" Amy added.
"Maybe I can help explain it all?" a voice said in the room.
Everyone looked around, wondering where the voice was coming from. There was nobody to be seen. Suddenly, there was a dark magical water aura that entered the room, and a figure emerged from it.
"Scourge?!" Amy shrieked.
"Who's Scourge?" Sonic asked quietly.
"He is my fiance back in my Kingdom." Amy explained.
"I demand to know what's going on here! Who are you, and how did you enter my Palace?!" Jules asked in anger.
"You're Magesty, I mean no harm. My name is Prince Scourge. KING of the Merhogs!" Scourge introduced.
Everyone gasped when they all heard him say 'Merhog'.
"Merhog?!" Aleena shrieked.
"How is that even possible?! Those are an urban legend! They're not real, those are creatures my mother dreamed of!" Jules stated.
"Well, believe it or not, we are real!" Scourge stated, as he revealed his tailfins.
"My God!" Knuckles exclaimed.
"The legend is real!" Tails stated.
"And also, to finish your story, Sonic." Scourge laughed.
"How did you know my name?!" Sonic exclaimed in shock.
"I know many things. And to finish your story, the reason you've never seen her before, because not only is she a Princess..." Scourge started.
Scourge then shoots a beam out from his trident, and it got Amy. Amy shrieked in fear.
"AMY!" Sonic exclaimed with worry.
A few seconds later, Amy was no longer in her dress. Her original glittery pink tailfins was back too, and her red seashell bra. Everyone gasped in surprise.
"...but she is also a Merhog, too. Her father changed her into a Mobian, because she was curious what up here was like. And you want to know something else? Sonic knew this whole time." Scourge finished.
"She's a Merhog too?!" Aleena exclaimed in shock.
"You knew this whole time, Sonic?!" Jules turned to Sonic.
"I've known since last night. I wanted to tell you about this sooner, but I was scared what you would all think of me, or what could happen to them, if I got their secret out. I'm sorry!" Sonic explained, sadly.
"She was also my fiance, but I got what I wanted, but you're free to become my queen, when I take over not only the ocean, but the whole of the world up here too!" Scourge chuckles.
"I will NEVER rule with you, you monster!" Amy snarled.
"Well, you don't really have much of a choice, my dear!" Scourge chuckles evilly.
Scourge then raises the trident into the air, and the entire palace caught fire. Everyone shrieked in fear.
"Tails, Knuckles, help get my Mom, Dad, Tikal and Cream out of here, now!" Sonic snarled.
"Yes, Sonic!" Tails replied.
"Right away, Sonic!" Knuckles added.
The whole palace was burning down to the ground, and Tails grabbed Cream, and Aleena, and Knuckles grabbed Tikal and Jules. They all went to the nearest exit to the outside. Sonic however remained in the palace, glaring at Scourge angrily. Scourge laughs evilly.

I've tried find a way to make some sense of what was happening
I've been hoping that this time

Holding on to an antidote to free me from this pantomime

Sonic tried charging towards Scourge to tackle him, but Scourge teleported out of the way, and Sonic fell to the ground, and grunted in pain. Scourge looks on, and his quills began to point upwards.
"SONIC!" Amy shrieked.

I'm won't take this anymore
I'll will now break down the door
And stepped right into the light, as I'll be
.
Scourge's scleras in his eyes turned black, and his pupils turned blood red. He has Amy held hostage next to him. She was scared for Sonic.

"Did you seriously think you're any match for me, Sonic?! I'm the most powerful creature in the world! Now I have Amy's father's trident in my hand, I have the power to do anything I wish!" Scourge laughs evilly.

A bright purple aura was flashing around Scourge, and now his fur turned into a dark shiny purple colour. Sonic looked on in shock.

Back in the ocean, the army were still locking up the fish.
"Nearly done, men! Scourge should be back soon!" Fang laughed.

Back with Scourge, he still has Amy hostage, while Sonic was trying to throw punches, and kicks towards Scourge, but no matter how hard he tried, Scourge kept dodging each of them with ease.

After that, Scourge punched Sonic in the face, and Sonic fell to the ground.
"SONIC!" Amy shrieked in fear.
"I think I'm done wasting time here. Now, I gotta return to my palace! Farewell, Blue Hedgehog!" Scourge laughs evilly.
"SONIC, HELP ME!" Amy called.
Sonic regained conscious, and he saw Scourge leaving with Amy hostage, and flew towards the ocean. Sonic ran towards the only exit that was around him, which was the same window Scourge exit from.
"Amy!" Sonic yelled.
Sonic ran as fast as he could, but it was no use. Scourge was too far into the ocean for Sonic to catch up to. Sonic felt tears flowing in his eyes.
"AAAAAAAAMYYYYYYYYYY!" Sonic yelled, in sorrow.
What will become of the world, now Scourge has become unstoppable?
