The next day something was different, something was wrong, she thought. So she went to the infirmary there was this weird mark on her arm and it wouldn't watch off. The magic wouldn't erase it either. When she got there, Bill Weasley was there as well. She saw the mark on his arm as well. Madam Pomfrey and Head Master Dumbledore were there. She was confused as to why the Head Master was there. Then she saw the marking on Bill's arm and Bill seemed to be looking at her as well.
Dumbledore spoke up. "Well, it seems we know who is your soul bond Bill." He had a huge smile as Rowan approached when she looked at Bill confused. Dumbledore touched her shoulders and smiled. "Set and I will explain to you." She was still confused and she set down right next to Bill looked at him for a second then back to Dumbledore. He spoke again to them. "It is very rare that this happens. It seems to happen maybe three times a decade. What has happened is that the fates or something out there choose two people to bond together. It's basically imprinting."
Rowan knew that world it was when two people were meant to be together for the rest of their lives. The only way to break an imprint is when one of them dies. Dumbledore smiled at them patting both their shoulders. "This is a good thing. I am going to take you two to my office. Ember is up there befriending Fawkes they are getting along. I need to send notes to Bill's parents and then Rowan I need to send it to your grandparents."
After they got up to his office. She smiled when she saw Ember and Fawkes nudging each other and becoming friends. She walked over rubbed Ember's beak and held her hand out for Fawks who nudged his beak into her hand. She smiled as she heard Dumbledore speak again. "The main thing we need to be careful about which while you two are at school things should be fine. You can't go more than a week without seeing each other. You start to go crazy and by the second week your heart is sick."
Bill had come over to pet the two beaks of the phoenix. He looked at her and smiled almost like he accepted this. She wasn't sure she could. Dumbledore continued. "The small issue will be when you are on holiday or after graduation before you come back for your next year. I am sure your family can figure out how you too can see yourself when you are not in school. " Rowan heard what he said and wondered again how laid back Bill seemed.
Dumbledore went to do something as Bill looked at her and squeezed her hand. They had been sitting down as Ember came to sit on her knee. He spoke. "This is shocking but I have heard of this. I have heard it's a rare gift that is a good thing. I am still processing it all through. " Rowan grunted as she laughed some. "Yeah, about the same processing this that will take a while to understand," Dumbledore told her that it only happened to people fourteen and up. She had just turned fourteen about two weeks before coming to school.
Rowan looked at him. She had thought he was handsome last night when she had set down at the Gryffindor table when she had been placed in the house. Must have been when he touched her shoulder welcoming her. She liked the red hair and those eyes were kind but relaxed. Like life was just passing him by. She had heard that he was smart, he was top of the class in his year. He was a prefect so that said something as well. She had heard that he had his own adventure last year and had helped save Hogwarts from something. She needs to find out more about it.
Rowan had never thought about romance or getting a boyfriend. This seemed a little forced, but the magic was something that was always surprising. This was surprising for sure. She was told that the man she was going to marry and create a family with was chosen for her before she ever met the man. There was nothing she could do about it. They were sitting there talking about simple things getting to somewhat know each other.
When her grandparents got there first. They were so proud that she had been honored. She was unsure if this was an honor maybe as she gets older it will see that way. She was still shocked. Then as she stood petting Ember. Bill's parents came. When Dumbledore told them what had happened. Mrs. Weasley had squashed her into a hug welcoming her to the family. Mr. Weasley was patting her son's back. Then Bill's father shook her hand welcoming her as well to the family.
It seemed her grandfather was friends with Mr. Weasley they both worked for the Ministry of Magic. She found out that Bill's mother was a stay at home. She also found out that three Weasley children were here at school. Then there were three other brothers and the baby of the family was a sister. She looked at Bill and spit it out. "I am not giving you eight children if you think I will your crazy."
Dumbledore laughed and then the conversation went to handling the two of them when they were not in school. Dumbledor gasped and spoke up. "You two hurry go get your books your first classes will start soon so head out." The first two weeks it was like she and Bill were friends. The school knew that they were a couple that was brought together by the Soul Bound. Though with her own year, she had tried not to make friends. Thought Charlie Weasley made sure that didn't happen. They both talked about magical creatures his favorite was dragons. She also joined the Quidditch team she made it as a Beater. She had been one for a year at the Ilvermony School in her second year.
