Chapter Thirteen: Holding Onto Hope
Scourge enters the palace, with Amy with him, and he puts her down in the bed chambers.
"Why are you doing this, Scourge?! My parents trusted you!" Amy shrieked.
"Power, my dear. That's all it's been about, is power. Marrying you would have been the easy way of doing it, but because you left, and wanted to join what was up above us, that left me and my maids, army, and Fang the advantage. And your father, fell asleep at the wrong time. Now I possess the power of his trident, now I rule the ocean. And not just the ocean, but I rule all of up there too. "Scourge explained.
"What have you done with my parents, and my sisters?!" Amy snarled.
"Don't you worry about a thing, my dear. They're safe. For now." Scourge warned.
"What do you mean for now?" Amy snarled again.
"Well, that depends on you, my dear, Amelia. If you want them to live, you'll have to agree to finish what we started, and marry me. It's that simple." Scourge smiles evilly.
"I will NEVER marry you!" Amy snarled.
"As you wish. But you have twelve hours, Amelia, to change your mind, otherwise you will never see your Mommy, Daddy, or your sisters again, unless you rule the world with me." Scourge warned.
He chuckles evilly, and he leaves the room. Amy floated to the ground in sorrow.
"I can't marry him! I don't love him! But if I don't, he'll harm my family." Amy sadly stated.
Amy tried so hard to cry, but knowing she's no longer a Mobian, and she's back to a Merhog underwater, she can't produce tears.
"Well will remain together, no matter what, Amy!" that was the voice of Sonic in Amy's head.
Amy snapped out of her sorrow, and looked around.
"Sonic?!" Amy called out.
"We love one another, Amy. No matter what we are, or where we came from, the one thing that is true in our hearts, is that we love each other, no matter what happens. I will always be there to protect you, no matter what." the voice of Sonic said.
"But how? Like, Sonic isn't here, but it's as if he's still here with me. A possibility like this isn't usually something that should happen, whether we love one another, or not, could it?" Amy thought.
Amy then swam towards the mirror in her room.
"Or can it?" Amy wondered.
Amy looks at her reflection in the mirror, and saw herself. And then in her head, it formed into her Mobian form, with Sonic standing behind her. He took a hold of Amy's hand, and Amy felt a warm feeling in her hand, like Sonic was actually holding it.
She even felt her heart beating faster. The more she thought about it, the more she really understood the situation. She smiles warmly.
"Perhaps you are here with me after all. It is possible to still be together, without actually being together. That's the sign of true love. That is something that nobody, and not even Scourge could take away from us. The feelings that we have for one another is not on a map, and it's not locked away by us being a different race, or being in a royal family." Amy happily stated.
She then swam towards the window, and looked outside, and up towards the surface. She smiled warmly.
"How very wonderful for us. I know Sonic has the same feelings for me, and he would stop at nothing to save me. That is the hope that I will forever hold onto, as this is my very soul reason that I know Sonic will defeat Scourge, once and for all. I love you so much, Sonic the Hedgehog." Amy stated.

Amy then swam towards the door. She knew that it was locked, but she stared at it, knowing she is keeping the faith, and thinking positive that she'll be rescued.

Amy then swam towards the mirror again, and looks at her reflection. She then closed her eyes and thinks about her in the same room as Sonic once again. She was also in her Mobian form as well.

Sonic in her daydream then reached his hand out, asking for a dance. And without hesitation, Amy took his hand, and she placed the other hand on his shoulder, and Sonic placed his other hand around her waist.

Then shortly after that, Sonic and Amy began a slow dance in the grand hall of Sonic's palace.

Amy and Sonic stop their slow dance, and Amy attempted to reach her head towards him for a kiss, but her daydream ended. But this didn't bother Amy too much.

And with that, Amy swam towards the window, and looked outside. She once again looked up towards the surface. She was hoping and praying that Sonic would somehow come and rescue her. But even if he does, how would he be able to stop Scourge, knowing he's unleashed so much power, since he's harnessed the full potential of the trident?
