Setting a cloaked ship down near the White House was not an easy task, fortunately the President had already arranged a cleared area for the Altimah to land and oh boy was that a heady thought. Alexander had never met any member of the Council of Atlantis, nor known anyone who knew a member of the Council. The over all leader of their military had, but that hadn't been Alexander. He checked to make sure the uniform Jack had arranged for him was in order. It wouldn't do to make a bad impression on the most powerful man on the planet. A man who'd stared down a hologram of Anubis. That alone was a good reason to respect him.

"Mr. President, it's an honor to meet you."

"You as well, Captain. You've done a great deal to help Earth and it is very much appreciated."

"It's been our home too, sir. We just want to help keep people safe."

"A goal we have as well. Now, tell me how things are going at the outpost."

"Dr. Weir is very unhappy at being relieved of her position. I think she actually believed she was doing a good job. That only a few people share that opinion has come as a big shock to her."

"Naming her the leader was convenient, I must admit. She was already there and did a good job with the negotiations, so it was believed that would carry over. Unfortunately, it didn't. And Dr. McKay?"

"I'm pretty sure his attitude stems from a belief that everyone is jealous of him. I'm also certain, he won't abide by the rules laid out for him. His arrogance and sense of superiority mean he'll feel a need to prove he's the better choice. People may get hurt when he does that."

"I hope you're wrong about that, but given the complaints about him, I can't help wondering myself. Still, he has studied alot of Alteran technology, that he's never gotten any of it to work, is beside the point, since no one outside your company has. And now we know why. Genetics."

"Yes, but there's more to it then that. Dr. Beckett is planning to try to provide a gene therapy that gives the gene to others. That's not a good idea, sir."

"Why not? We need people who can use the technology."

"When we seeded Earth, we made sure you couldn't evolve the gene on your own. You could have wiped yourselves out before you reached a level of development where you could understand the technology. Our other choice was to destroy it, but you could eventually learn from it, so it was decided to let you. At best, the gene therapy would only be effective in a small potion of the population. But there's a bigger problem. The technology was developed to interface with Alteran minds, not Earth human minds. It took centuries to develop the technology. Those of Alteran descent are closer to us then you are and can utilize at least some of the middle and maybe even highest level of tech, but no one given the therapy will be able to utilize the control chair, for instance. Their brains will never be compatible enough. Your best bet is to reverse engineer the technology and either build it without the mental component, like the Altimah Project has been, or develop your own interface technology specific to how your brains function. Not to mention, Dr. McKay could not be trusted if the therapy took in him."

"Hmm, that's disappointing, there seem to be very few that we've found so far. At the outpost, there are just the two you discovered, Major Sheppard and Dr. Beckett, neither have sat in the chair yet. At the SGC, just one, a Major Even Lorne. And one civilian, Joe the barber. We're running tests on everyone currently involved in the Program and at all of the Academies. We hope to find more eventually."

"There is another civilian that has the gene, sir. In fact I want to recruit him. He would be the perfect person to lead the expedition. He has training, experience and the gene. And the clearance to know about the expedition."

"Who?"

"Jon O'Neill, Jack O'Neill's clone."

"Physically, he's 16."

"Something I can fix. We know a way we can age someone a couple of decades. it's not something I'd recommend for everyone, but it can be done."

You're sure about this?"

"I am. He's a civilian, with extensive military knowledge. He has a good idea about science as well. Sending him back to High School just because he looks 16, is cruel. He remembers the stars, sir. Keeping him from them, just because he's not the original, isn't right. Give him a purpose, everyone deserves one."

"Very well, if he agrees and you can indeed age him a couple of decades, then he can be named the leader of the expedition."

"Thank you, sir. I have one more thing I need to discuss with you and it's about the other side of Homeworld Security's purview. Vampires, demons and aliens aren't the only thing out of myth and legend living on Earth."

"What else?" Hayes asked cautiously.

"Werewolves."

"Werewolves?"

"Werewolves. They're not demons, they don't come from the other dimension. Shape shifters occur naturally out in the galaxy. The ones here on Earth are the result of a virus. I suspect, though I have no proof, alien shape shifters came to Earth at some point, possibly to hide from the Gou'ald, as others have. One of them may have had a virus, said virus interacts with an Earth virus, resulting in something new. The virus is spread through a bite. It's injected by the incisors. It is also inherited. The vast majority of werewolves work very hard to not be problem. Humans are of more danger to them, then they are to humans. The NID has already tried to experiment with demons, if they find out about werewolves - ."

"They could cause alot of problems for people just trying to live their lives, like the non violent ones and the aliens."

"Yes."

"Alright, I'll have them added to Homeworld's purview. We'll look out for them."

"Thank you, sir."
