Chapter Fourteen: It's Her, Or Not At All
Back at the palace, everyone made it out of the burning palace. It started to rain heavily. Luckily, nobody was hurt, but Jules was not happy with Sonic.
"Sonic, are you seriously telling me that you knew Amy was a Merhog this whole time?!" Jules yelled.
"Well, how was I supposed to tell you, without having you, or anyone thinking I'm crazy?! Merhogs were a myth, and creatures Grandma saw in her dreams! If I had told you, 'Oh Dad, Amy who I found in the sea is really a Merhog Princess', would you have believed me?!" Sonic asked, sternly.
"Whether it sounds crazy or not, you didn't tell us!" Jules snarled back.
"Oh, right! Because I knew her fiance back home was gonna become some evil, possessed Merhog, didn't it?!" Sonic snapped.
"You dare talk to your father like that?! Because of you, our palace is burned down to the ground, all be cause of your Merhog friend! If you hadnt have met her, this would never happened, and you'd be happy with Sally, now look what's happened!" Jules stated with rage.
"Jules, please, calm down! He didn't know this was going to happen! "Aleena pleaded.
Jules placed his hand up.
Aleena, you stay out of this. You will NOT defend him!" Jules warned her.
"I'm not defending him." Aleena pleaded again.
"You ARE defending him! As for you, Sonic! I don't care how long this process, takes, I will call Nigel back, and rearrange this wedding with Sally again, and explain that you've made a mistake, and it was out of anger. You're a smart boy, Sonic. You really are. But I am just trying to do what's best for you." Jules told him.
Sonic glares at Jules angrily. Tears are now flowing from his eyes in anger.
"And what's best for me, Dad?! Me, living the rest of my life, not being happy, being married to someone who not only do I not love, but someone who clearly doesn't love me?! You think just because I'm a Prince, and she's a Princess, we have to be married just because it's what YOU want?! That's your problem Dad, you think you know what's best for me, but you don't! You don't care about what I want, you never even so much as stopped, and asked me what I wanted, it's always been about you, and what you want! This whole time, it's never been about me! You married my Mom, and you were in love with her, why can't you give me the same thing?" Sonic told him, angrily.
"Oh, come on, Sonic! Don't twist my words, and make me look like the bad guy here! How dare you!" Jules started.
"How dare I? How dare I?! HOW DARE YOU!" Sonic snapped, as he pointed directly at Jules's face in anger.
Everyone looked on in shock. Never in their life did they ever think they'd see Sonic and Jules like this.
"I have to leave! I have got not only a Princess to save, but the world. This time I'm following what my heart wants, not what YOU want! " Sonic snarled.
"Sonic, you need to let go! She couldn't fit in our world! She's a Merhog!" Jules pleaded.
"I don't care! It's either her, or not at all! And if you can't accept that, then you're not my Father anymore!" Sonic snapped.
After that, Sonic ran away, and he was running towards the beach, and towards a ship.
"SONIC, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?! SONIC!" Jules called out, with a worried tone this time.
"SONIC!" Aleena pleaded.
Knuckles kissed Tikal's cheek, he was and started running after Sonic.
"Sorry Tikal, but I can't let Sonic do this on his own!" Knuckles stated.
Tails then kissed Cream's cheek, then he ran after Sonic.
"Neither can I!" Tails added.
"Stay safe, Tails!" Cream called.
"Good luck, Knuckles!" Tikal added.
"What have I done?" Jules stated.
He has sad tears flowing in his eyes. Aleena noticed, and she couldn't help but shed tears in her eyes too. She then wrapped her arms around his waist in comfort, and Jules wrapped his arms around her head.
Back with Sonic, he made it to the pier of the beach, and he went on board the ship, and he pulled the wheel to hoist the anchor. He then ran towards the steering wheel to prepare steering the ship. The ship then slowly but surely began to sail away from the pier.
"I will save you, Amy! My heart only beats for you, and my blood boils, ready to send Scourge to hell!" Sonic stated, with determination.
Even with tears in his eyes, the ship was now further out into the sea. Thunder roars, and lighting strikes, as Sonic sails into the dark, heavy rain. But no matter what, Sonic was determined to save Amy.

(Sonic singing)
I'll bring him fire
I'll give her love
I won't fly higher or rise above
It's left me helpless
Doesn't give me hope
It's made me restless
Now my heart's gone so cold
.
Thunder roars again, and lightning strikes in the heavy rain. Sonic with tears in his eyes remains to stay focused, no matter how distracting this was.

(Sonic singing)
Now you've see me
I can't take any more
You've always left me and keep hanging on
I must lose you
.
Sonic looks at the clouds, and sees it form into the shape of Amy. The thought of Amy makes his heart beat faster. But it then takes into the shape of Scourge. The thought of him makes his blood boil with anger.

(Sonic singing)
Have a look at me now, am I lonely?
Am I a stranger somehow?
Did you really know me?
Are you losing me?
Losing me?

The waves were getting bigger as he went further into the sea. But that was not going stop Sonic by a long shot.

Take me to heaven
Bring me for more
I am now stronger than you can see
Let our sunshine now feel devine
I'll raise my mission and fuel my desire
.
The waves collide with Sonic's ship, but not bad to cause any damage. Sonic also made sure he didn't hit any rocks on the way.

(Sonic singing)
Now you've see me
I can't take any more
You've always left me and keep hanging on
I must lose you

Sonic almost hit a giant rock, but he managed to make a sharp turn around it, and dodged it.

Have a look at me now, am I lonely?
Am I a stranger somehow?

Sonic looked around, but he wasn't exactly sure where he was supposed to go.
"What am I doing? I'm looking for Amy, but I have no idea where her palace even is!" Sonic thought.
Sonic thought long and hard, but then suddenly, something jogged his memory.
"Wait a second, what was it Amy told me before?!" Sonic wondered.
(Flashback)
"It's beautiful. It's a tall, silver palace. It's so shiny that if the moon shines on it just right, you could see it in the dark, and even from above the surface." Amy stated.
(End of flashback)
Remembering that, Sonic looked in the water long and hard, looking for the silver palace, and hoping he gets the moonlight to hit the spot just right.

(Sonic singing)
Now you see me
I can't take no more
You always left me and keep hanging on
I must lose you
.
Sonic then takes a turn, and low and behold, Sonic saw something shining in the water. It was a giant silver palace. And Sonic chuckles in relelief, because he was glad that he found it. Without hesitation, he steered the ship towards it.

Sonic then anchored the ship above where the palace is. He looked into the ocean, and saw the palace in there.
"Sonic!" a voice called.
Sonic turned around, and to his surprise, it was Tails and Knuckles.
"Tails! Knuckles! What are you guys doing here?!" Sonic exclaimed in shock.
"Well, like Tails said, we've..." Knuckles was cut off.
Sonic just grabbed Knuckles for a friendly enbrace,and Knuckles was caught by surprise.
Ooh!... we've got your back, always. We're your best friends." Knuckles finished.
"Hey!" Tails called.
Sonic then turns to face Tails. Tails held his arms open. And Sonic came in for a brotherly embrace.
"You guys came for me!" Sonic stated happily.
"Of course we did. What friends would we be, if we let you go off by yourself?" Tails smiled.
"As crazy as this sounds, we'll fight with you, until the end." Knuckles added.
"Too right! Now this is it guys! This is the Palace that Amy lives in, and Scourge took over. You spoke earlier about a wild adventure to go on, here we are. This is our moment to not only have an adventure, but to save the world!" Sonic stated.
Everybody stood in position, preparing for the fight of their lives.
