Chapter Eighteen: Destined For One Each Other
Sonic walked towards Amy, and he then lifts up Amy into his arms, and held her head closely, crying uncontrollably.
"Amy, I'm so sorry! This was all my fault! If only I hadn't have met you, or gotten gotten this close to you, this would never have happened." Sonic sobbed.
"You are not to blame, young Sonic. Nobody could have predicted that this would have happened. No grudges." Alfred also sobbed.
"You only followed what your heart believed In, Sonic. I should have seen it sooner." Jules stated, with sadness.
"Even though a Merhog, she's the most beautiful Princess I have ever seen." Aleena added, she eyes filled with tears.
"She really is. She takes after her mother." Alfed added.
"Alfred." Angelica sadly said, as she hugged Alfred, eyes filled with tears.
"I don't even want to imagine the pain Sonic is going through." Knuckles sadly stated, with tears in his eyes.
"Oh, totally. I mean, I'd be the same as Sonic, if anything happened to Cream." Tails agreed, sadly, also with tears in his eyes.
Cream was crying onto Tails's chest, and Tikal was crilying onto Knuckles's chest. Amanda had her arm around Diana, and they both also cried, with tears flowing in their eyes.
"All I wanted was for Mobians and Merhogs to live in peace. Not separate lives, or to shy away from one another. Me and Amy have both proven that we Mobians, and Merhogs are one in the same. We have feelings, we have so much in common, we speak the same language, and we can fall in love. Is this seriously what my destiny is meant to be? Finally experiencing true love, with the woman I know is the one just for her to slip away from my grasp?!" Sonic yelled, with sadness.
Sonic squatted down, and he then lifts Amy up in bridal style, and more tears were flowing from his eyes. He placed his forehead against hers.
"Why did you have to take her away from me so soon?! Where is she, damn it?! Where is my true love?!" Sonic asked, with angry, yet sad tears at the same time.
Sonic didn't notice, but he has a gold aura glowing around him. Everyone else noticed, and gasped in surprise.
"I don't want to say goodbye! I don't want to let go of her! I can't let her away from my life! If I can't have her, then I don't want anybody else! Please, Lord! I would do anything to take back what's happened to her. Even if it means I could trade lives with her, and you can take me instead. I can't live like this. I need her. Not only do I need her, but I love her. "Sonic pleaded.
Sonic continued to cry, and he still has no idea about the gold aura surrounding him.

(Sonic singing)
Look at me now
Is it really time

Sonic finally noticed the gold aura surrounding him. He gently released his grip on Amy, and Amy's body was levitating into the air. Everyone looked on in shock. Even Sonic wasn't sure what was going on.

(Sonic singing)
It's time for us to just let this go

Sonic walked towards Amy's body floating in the air. He still has tears flowing in his eyes, and he reached his hand out.

(Sonic singing)
Make me feel your love

Sonic gently touched Amy's hand, and the gold aura now surrounds Amy's body. Everyone could not believe what they were seeing. Neither could Sonic.

(Sonic singing)
Don't you see it?
After all this time,
My heart remain burning for you
As you're my holy grail
.
Sonic's eyes then began to glow crimson red.

(Sonic singing)
Ooh ooh
.
Now Sonic's quills began to point upwards. He slowly floated upwards, and he was staring at Amy's face, eyes filled with tears.

(Sonic singing)
Here I am now
Because of you, I'll stand with pride

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Sonic grabs both of Amy's hands.

(Sonic singing)

I'll remain right here

Sonic then shines bright, and his fur turns into a bright gold colour. Everyone looked on in surprise about how Sonic was still able to possess this power, even after Scourge was defeated.

Sonic wrapped his arms around Amy's shoulders, and held her close for an embrace. Sad tears still flowing from his eyes. Sonic never wanted to let her go.

(Sonic singing)
I could never do this without you
I will never say goodbye
I fell such a lost fool
Time will not erase what we've had
.
Sonic for a while there just floats there, holding Amy in his arms, never wanting to get go of her.
"What is going on here?!" Aleena exclaimed in surprise.
"I honestly have no idea. This is something completely new to what I remember in the ancient history of Merhogs." Alfred explained.

(Sonic singing)
You're still here
I'll always be here

Sonic drops another sad tear from his eyes, and he placed his forehead against Amy's. He was gentle with her, as to not do her any harm.

(Sonic singing)

Sonic and Amy floated downwards, and Sonic's feet touched the ground, but Amy's tailfins still floated. Yet Sonic still held her close, with his forehead against hers.

(Sonic singing)
My heart still burns for you

Sonic sheds another sad tear from his eye, and it falls onto Amy's cheek.

(Sonic singing)
I always will love you, girl

I'm coming back for you
.
Sonic placed both his hands on Amy's face, and looked directly at her face, eyes still filled with tears.

(Sonic singing)
It would make me feel your love

And without a care in the world, Sonic slowly placed his lips on Amy's, giving her a loving kiss. Sonic didn't care whether her lips were ice cold. However, Amy's aura was glowing brighter, and everyone looked on in shock.
And Sonic then noticed a warm feeling against his nose. It feels like warm air. And he also noticed that Amy's lips were going from cold, to warm. Amy's eyes opened slowly, and she looked on in shock. But she sank into the kiss, and she wrapped her arms around Sonic's head.
Everyone gasped in surprise to see that Amy was alive. They didn't know how she was alive, but they didn't care. They were all glad she was alive, they all started cheering.
