Once he was aboard the Altimah, Alexander contacted Jon.

"We have to time this, Jon. When I give the word, you drop the shield and I'll engage the tractor. I'm reading an island a little more then fifty miles from here. It won't take long to get there. If I had transporters, I could try searching for survivors, but I don't. I contacted Jack, he's launching the Prometheus, everyone has subcutaneous trackers, they may find someone. Alive I mean. What's that expression? You're not dead until you're warm and dead."

"I've heard it."

"Drop the shield now." Alexander ordered. He read the shield dropping. "Engaging tractor, should just take a little while. The outpost doesn't weigh nearly as much as the Naquada asteroid did. More then the Stargate, though. Approaching island. Setting the outpost down and disengaging tractor, now. I'm reading the Prometheus inbound. I'm returning to the outpost."

Once he was back at the outpost, Alexander secured the Altimah and headed back inside. His first stop was to check on the arrangements for Dr. McKay.

"Sheppard, where are you?" He asked over the communicator.

"Outside the storeroom I secured McKay in. I've got two guards assigned to him, but I'm waiting for him to wake up. Beckett wants to know so he can make sure he's okay. That was quite a punch."

"He pissed me off for the last time. Twelve people are dead because of him. I warned him what would happen if he didn't follow the rules laid out for him. Now he's going to face the consequences. Involuntary manslaughter, twelve counts, at the very least."

Once he'd satisfied himself that McKay was secure, he headed to the infirmary.

"How many injured, Doc?" He asked Dr. Beckett.

"Several dozen, but most are just bruises. We have a couple with broken bones and a few with concussions. Nothing worse then that, thank goodness."

"I'll see about healing them, Doc."

"That would be most appreciated, thank you."

It took about half an hour to see to it that everyone was healed and then he headed to Jon's office. A man he didn't recognize was talking to Jon.

"Alexander, this is Colonel Pendergast, commanding officer of the Prometheus. Colonel, this is Captain Alexander of the Altimah. Captain, like naval rank Captain, which makes you equal in rank."

"Except I have time in rank."

"How much time?" The Colonel asked curiously. "I know you're an Alteran."

"I've held the rank since I was 42, I'm currently 509. The Congeria, my former ship, was an explorer vessel before we were retrofitted as a warship. I never wanted anything more then to command a ship."

"I can understand that. I think I have the best job. Most of the time."

"Did you find any survivors?"

"We found twelve dead."

"I'll arrange a memorial service." Jon said. "McKay?"

"Safely locked up. Beckett wanted to check him since I punched him out and make sure he's alright."

"And Dr. Beckett? I understand he launched the drone." Colonel Pendergast said.

"Accidentally, he should never have been in that chair. Which McKay knew, because I told everyone that room was off limits. Especially, McKay. I told him he could not work on projects he was not assigned to. He lied to Beckett and said he had permission. Beckett is naive, trusting. McKay took advantage of that."

"Why wasn't the room secured?"

"Since only four people can use it and three know better and Beckett never ventures out of the medbay, I had hoped it wasn't necessary. McKay is the only troublemaker on the outpost, but I underestimated his stubborn arrogance."

"We'll take him into custody and transport him to the SGC. He'll stand trial." Colonel Pendergast said.

"If he isn't convicted, there'll be alot of people baying for his blood." Jon said.

"I have no doubt, you are correct." Alexander said softly and led Colonel Pendergast to the room they had McKay secured in. He was awake and banging on the door.

"Let me out of here! You can't keep me locked up! Who the Hell do you think you are?!"

Alexander drew his pulse pistol, he'd grabbed it before existing the Altimah. "Don't worry, it's not even powered right now. If it was, I'd be tempted to shoot him. But he doesn't know that. Open the door, Major."

"Yes, sir." Major Sheppard responded. McKay nearly fell through, when the door was opened. As soon as he saw Alexander, he began yelling.

"I want him arrested! He hit me!"

"You're the one being arrested, Doctor." Colonel Pendergast said

"Why? Beckett fired the drone, it's his fault, not mine!"

"It is your fault, because you lied to him. You did not have permission to be in that room or to study the chair. You were told the room was off limits. You were told that you could only work on assigned projects. You were told what the consequences would be if you broke the conditions under which you could work here. You are being charged with twelve counts of involuntary manslaughter. Possibly other charges as well." Alexander said.

"You can't be serious! It wasn't my fault! It was an accident!"

"An accident that would never have happened if you'd followed the rules." Alexander responded. "No more chances, McKay. This is the end of the line for you."

McKay just stared as Colonel Pendergast secured his hands behind his back and then requested that the two of them be beamed up to the Prometheus.

"I really hope I never see him again." Alexander said.

"Jack's been hoping that since the first time he met him." Jon answered. "Excuse me, I have to go plan a memorial service."
