Time can be a difficult thing. Sometimes, what only takes a few minutes can feel like several hours. And what takes a few years can feel like an entire lifetime. Such was the case for everyone's favorite pair of twins, Dipper and Mabel Pines.

Ever since their first thrilling (and traumatic) summer in Gravity Falls, Dipper and Mabel had made it their annual tradition to return to the small lumber town every summer. Sometimes even during spring and winter breaks. It was the perfect way for them to stay close with the many friends and family that they had grown so close to since they first arrived. Not to mention that Gravity Falls never had any shortage of adventures around every corner, whether supernatural or more mundane.

But the best thing to come out of their yearly returns was the relationship that had formed between Dipper Pines and the formerly rich stuck up heiress Pacifica Northwest. During his and Mabel's second summer in town, Dipper and Pacifica had started hanging out together more often. The more they hung out, the closer their relationship became and the more Dipper had started to see her in a whole new light. Pretty soon, she became the one that he started fantasizing about as he lie awake in bed at night.

At first, this caused some dread on his part as he feared that his newly formed crush on Pacifica was doomed to lead to disaster just like his previous crush on Wendy. Until, one day, Pacifica worked up the courage to tell Dipper the truth: that ever since that previous summer, she had long developed feelings for him. Feelings that had only persisted throughout the entire school year he'd been away and now finally begged to be let out. Upon hearing her confession, Dipper's heart skipped a beat, but then he found it in him to tell her about his own feelings for her as well. From that day on, the two had been in a close, committed long-distance relationship. It was difficult, but with the support of their friends and families, they had managed to make it work for several years.

Pacifica's life had gone through many other drastic changes over the years. After losing their mansion and their family fortune, she and her parents had been forced to downsize and move into a studio apartment with Pacifica even taking a job as a waitress at Greasy's Diner. It was not a pleasant life for her, but it got even worse when her parents got arrested for embezzling money in a desperate attempt to get rich again. They were both sent to prison and Pacifica was placed into the foster care system.

Thankfully, as it turned out, she had a guardian angel looking out for her as it was not long at all before she was adopted by a very kind and loving couple who treated her with much more respect and compassion than her real parents ever had. It did take some getting used to, but eventually, she came to love them very much and she was very happy living with them.

Today, however, was a very exciting day. A day that almost everybody in Gravity Falls had been looking forward to for years. This was the first day of summer vacation, but it was no ordinary one. Dipper and Mabel had just graduated high school and now, they were finally moving to Gravity Falls permanently. When they first stepped off the bus into town, they were surprised that there was no one at the bus stop to greet them. Usually, whenever they arrived, there was at least one or two people, but not this time.

"Huh. That's weird. Where is everybody?" Mabel wondered out loud as they arrived at the bus stop with Waddles in tow.

"No idea. I would've thought everybody would wanna meet us hear since we're staying for good this time," Dipper agreed.

"I know, right? I mean, what are we? Chopped liver? Because that would be gross."

"Let's get to the Mystery Shack and put our stuff down. Maybe we can meet up with everyone later."

And so, the two teens made their way towards the oddity-filled tourist trap formerly owned by their great uncle, where they had continued to stay every time they came to town and were now planning to live permanently. As they walked, Dipper couldn't help but feel disappointed that not even his girlfriend had been waiting for him at the bus stop. But as soon as they opened the front door, all of their questions and worries disappeared.

"SURPRISE!" The twins were suddenly greeted very loudly by every one of their loved ones at the same time. They were all gathered inside the shack as part of a big surprise party in honor of them officially moving into town. Everybody was there. Stan, Ford, Soos, Melody, Candy, Grenda, Wendy and her friends and of course, Pacifica. The twins were overjoyed by the surprise gesture and quickly went around greeting and hugging all the people that they had missed all these months.

Dipper and Mabel spent the whole party catching up with all their friends and family members. Stan and Ford had recently taken an expedition deep into the Amazon jungle. Stan had hoped to meet some sexy 10-foot Amazon women, but while they didn't find any of those, they had found an ancient temple guarded by a giant anaconda whose breath had nearly turned them into solid gold. After they'd defeated it, Stan had wanted to take home the petrified golden body of one of the snake's victims, but Ford had said no.

Mabel was delighted to hear that Grenda and Marius were still going strong and that Candy had recently started dating a boy that she had met in her Korean Culture Club at school. Soos and Melody, who had officially been married for over a year now, informed the twins that they were now expecting a baby, which they were both completely over the moon to hear.

While Dipper and Mabel were busy congratulating the current Mr. and Mrs. Mystery on their growing family, Pacifica stood by and waited patiently for her turn to speak with her boyfriend face to face. Wendy came up next to her to keep her company until then. "So, when are you gonna tell him the big news?" she asked.

"I'll get to it as soon as we have a chance to catch up," the blonde girl answered. "Thanks again for all your help setting it up, Wendy."

"Hey, no problem, Paz. It was my pleasure. You and Dipper make an awesome couple. And he's gonna go nuts when you lay the big surprise on him."

"Thanks. I sure hope so."

Pacifica and Wendy had become really close friends over the years. They were like the sisters that neither of them had ever had. Wendy was always there to help Pacifica when she really needed it. When she told Wendy about her crush on Dipper, she was the one who encouraged her to tell him. When Pacifica's parents went to prison, it was Wendy who had helped her get through it and learn to love her new foster parents. There was nothing that Wendy wouldn't do for her little buddy Paz, including helping her put together a little graduation present for her boyfriend.

Finally, it was Pacifica's turn to be greeted by Dipper and Mabel with the latter quickly wrapping her up in one of her famous bear hugs, much to her joy. After she let go, Dipper threw his own arms around her and pulled their lips together for a deep, loving kiss.

"Oh man," Dipper sighed happily. "You have no idea how much I've missed your sweet kisses."

"Well don't worry. I've been saving them up all year just for you," Pacifica said sweetly before planting another one on him.

"Awww! You guys are so adorable together!" Mabel fawned.

"Yo, Mabel! You just gonna leave me hanging over here?" Wendy called out, getting the excitable girl's attention. Mabel quickly hugged and began catching up with her, thus effectively tearing her away from the young couple so that they could have some privacy.

Dipper and Pacifica hugged each other closely, happy to be reunited once more. "I've missed you so much, Dipper. I'm so glad you're staying for good this time," said Pacifica.

"I've missed you, too, Pacifica," Dipper replied as he rubbed her back and ran his hands through her blonde hair. "I don't ever wanna be away from you again."

"Me neither." The two just stood there swaying back and forth for a couple of minutes, each melting into the warmth of the other's embrace.

Eventually, Pacifica decided that it was time to tell Dipper her big news. "Which is why I've got my own little surprise for you," she told him.

"Really? What is it?" he asked.

"Wendy's been helping me put together a little graduation present for both of us. Now, I know you and Mabel have been planning to live here in the shack for a while, but I figured that with you now living in Gravity Falls permanently, it would be the perfect opportunity for you and I to finally move in together. So, I saved up some money and commissioned Wendy and her family to build us our own cottage."

"Wait, what?! For real?!" Dipper exclaimed.

"Yeah. I even talked my dad into giving her a discount," said Wendy, who had overheard. "Now you guys have your own little love nest waiting for you down by the lake. Fully furnished and everything."

"Wow! That's... that's incredible!" said Dipper excitedly, until something occurred to him. "But... what about Mabel?" Dipper wondered how his sister would feel about him choosing not to live with her in the shack.

"Don't worry about me, Dipper," said Mabel, who had also been listening to them talk. "We've been roomies our lives. You've totally earned the right to move in with someone who won't keep you up all night with loud sleepovers."

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"Dipper, I'm a high school graduate now. I think I can handle sleeping in a room alone. For once, this is one great opportunity that you don't have to give up just to make me happy. I'll be happy knowing that you get to live with the woman you love."

Dipper smiled and hugged his sister. "Thanks, Mabel."

"Don't mention it, bro-bro," she said, returning the hug.

Later that night, Pacifica drove Dipper to their new lakeside cabin. When she opened the door, he was very charmed by the cozy rustic interior. From the living room to the kitchen to the dining room to even the bathroom, every room in the house was beautifully designed and decorated in a way that just made him feel right at home. There was even a patio out back with a hot tub out back, which Dipper knew would be perfect for getting cozy in. The final stop on the tour was the bedroom, where the bed was all made up and covered in rose petals and heart-shaped pillows.

"So what do you think?" asked Pacifica.

Dipper gazed deeply into his girlfriend's eyes and smiled. "It's perfect. I just know we're gonna be very happy here."

The happy young couple hugged each other. Pacifica was very grateful that Dipper loved her present to him and Dipper was grateful to have such a loving and thoughtful girl in his life.

When the hug ended, Pacifica gave Dipper a seductive smirk. "What do you say we celebrate our new life together by christening our new bedroom?" she suggested, unbuttoning the top of her purple polo. Seeing as how Pacifica had just made him an offer he couldn't refuse, Dipper started removing his own shirt and climbed into bed with her. There, she proceeded to give him the second part of his graduation gift.

After so many long years of waiting patiently, now that these two lovebirds were finally able to stay together forever, neither of them held back in releasing all of their pent up love for each other in one glorious, beautiful evening. Patience can hard sometimes, but as Dipper and Pacifica learned that night, it can be very, VERY rewarding.
