Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters of the books or True Blood. I do not make any money from writing this story.
Author's Note:
- This is not a True Blood/Vampire Diaries Crossover.
- I added an extra ability for Faery Vampire Hybrids; once a vampire or a fairy drinks blood from a Faery Vampire Hybrid, they will be able to possess both vampire and fairy abilities and gain both weaknesses. However, if a human gets a bite from a Faery Vampire Hybrid, that person will turn into a vampire.
- This is the first fanfiction I am working on, I hope everyone will enjoy :)
PS. Eliza's full name is Elizabeth Petrova-Artois. She goes by Elizabeth Artois, her biological vampire father, in the human realm. While, in the faery realm, she goes by Elizabeth Petrova, as her mother is a fairy (faery vampire hybrid).
20 Years Ago in Bon Temps
Eliza visits her descendant relatives in Bon Temps on a cool starry night to check on her, who has the fairy sparks at such a young age. Eliza thought of turning this little girl, whom she got a Maker Call once she stepped her feet on the area. As she reaches the house, the Maker Call becomes stronger as she feels the girl is getting close to the door. Eliza will discuss the situation precisely and directly as much as possible if she wants to influence the girl to become her progeny.
'She is quite appealing to vampires with her delectable scent,' Eliza thought.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the soft, small voice of the girl in front of the door, "Hello ma'am, what may I help you with?" A small voice asked.
'Innocent, but so beautiful and alluring. What a delectable girl,' a thought trailing through Eliza's mind as she looked at the girl in front of her doorway.
"Hello there, little one," Eliza replied with a gentle and sincere smile, "May I come in? I have an important discussion to speak to you and your grandmother, is she here?" Eliza inquired further with a more serious tone.
The girl looked at her confused but replied back with a soft voice, "Yes ma'am, please come in. My grandmother is in her bedroom, I will go and bring her down. Would you like anything to drink?"
"No thank you, dear one," Eliza smiled as she sat down on a couch.
'I wonder who this young lady is. I can't seem to read her mind. She looks like she's in her teenage age, but her void is large. She must be ancient, despite her looks. She also has an otherworldly aura around her. She is also beautiful and charming with her pale, lean, tall, shoulder-length brown hair, and ocean-blue eyes features. Why do I feel a pull towards this lady? There must be a connection between us,' a curious small blond girl wonders as she walks upstairs to call for her grandmother.
"Gran, there is someone downstairs. She said she had something to discuss with us," she said as she opened the door.
"Oh! She's here already! Inform her that I will be down in a few minutes. Sookie, you can trust her," her grandmother replied as she was getting ready.
'Gran knew this lady? But how? Is she related to us? How is it possible that we have an otherworldly creature in our bloodline? Who is this ancient, young-looking girl? A vampire? But vampires are not out of their coffins yet? Unless she's not fully a vampire, she must have gone hiding her whole existence until now. What is she?' Curiosity runs through Sookie's mind as she walks downstairs to meet the lady.
While Eliza walks around the living room, looking through pictures on the walls and tables, Sookie interrupts and greets herself, "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, ma'am. My name is Sookie Stackhouse. It is a pleasure to meet you." Sookie smiles.
"It's nice to meet you too, Sookie. I'm Elizabeth Artois, you may call me Eliza," Eliza replies softly with a small smile.
Sookie smiles back and starts a small conversation over her curiosity, "I'm sorry for my intrusive question Eliza, but may I ask how you know my gran? I don't remember meeting you from the memories in my head."
Eliza gives Sookie a fascinating look, as she never thought of this young girl to be so thoughtful and mature for her age. She smiled at the smart young blond girl and replied genuinely, "Yes Liebe, you may ask me anything and I will do my best to answer what you need to know. I am going to discuss this conversation when your grandmother comes down. I will let both of you know every detail that you need to know, meine liebe." Sookie saw the sincerity in her statement, so she just quietly nodded her head in reply. Eliza couldn't help but smile at the smart young girl.
Eliza began to give a quick inquisitive look at Sookie when the girl was not looking, she couldn't help but feel impressed with the little girl.
'With the amount of thoughtful mind, she'll make an excellent vampire. But I will need to discuss this with her and her grandmother first before I can take action to turn her. I know she will be mine,' Eliza thought, giving no expression on her face as she felt excited inside with a steady heartbeat.
As Sookie's grandmother comes down from upstairs, she gives Eliza a small, knowing smile, "Hello Eliza, we haven't kept in touch since the incident."
"Oh yes, my dear, Adele, I remember that incident lividly. I missed you greatly, meine Enkelin. How have you been all these years? You have a lovely, humble home you reside here," Eliza replies in a soft tone.
Sookie quietly sat down on the couch next to Eliza and listened to the two conversing conversations with each other attentively. Then a moment later, an idea came, 'Eliza is my ancestor! Oh my god! But how can that be? If Eliza is a vampire, then how can she have human relatives? I thought vampires couldn't produce sperm. Is Eliza not a vampire? She has to be, or why else I can't read her mind? Is she a witch? No, she can't be a witch. She doesn't feel any kind of mortality. In fact, she feels immortality. Who is this woman? What the heck is she? What is she doing here?' Just like Eliza can read her mind, she gives Sookie a soft smile.
Not realizing a quiet expression between Sookie and Eliza, Adele answered, "I have been doing well. You know I like a luxury lifestyle, so I asked my husband to buy this humble but comfortable home to live in."
Eliza sighs, "I know."
Adele has always been headstrong since a young age, but she has been a very strong and independent woman for so long as she lives, and Eliza admires that about her. Eliza smiles and gives Adele a knowing look.
"I am here to discuss something involving Sookie, your granddaughter, Adele. I would like to ask for your and Sookie's permission before I take action to do this. Do you understand the situation that I am going about this, Adele?" Eliza gets to the point.
"Yes, I understand Eliza. But this is not about me, this is about my granddaughter. If she is willing, then I have no right to go against her decision. Before you do this, I like to ask you to fill in your story for Sookie to know the relationship between you, me, and her. She was just a newborn when she met you, so she should probably be unable to picture your face at the time of her memories when she first encountered you. I would also ask you to tell her your intention of coming here for her if that is okay with you," Adele said in a calm voice. Adele knew Eliza would come for Sookie with the intention of turning her as she was informed by the King of France the night before Eliza arrived, but like she just informed Eliza, it is not her decision to make so she would not claim anything according to Sookie's involvement.
While Sookie is in her pensive thoughts, Eliza comments, "Yes, I understand Adele. I am here to inform her and let her know my intention. I appreciate your cooperation, Adele. Sookie, before you are reluctant of what I will ask of you. I would like to assure you that I would not do anything that would go against your right of being. I will not force you to take anything against your contentment. Before I tell you what I am going to inform you about, I would like to ask for your permission for this entailment first. Would you be willing to become my companion for eternity, Sookie? I won't let any harm come to you nor I will pull a maker's commander to you unless it is necessary to in some circumstances. Would you be willing to walk the earth with me through our journey together?" Eliza looks at the girl, who seems to look reluctant and still in thought.
A few moments later, Sookie inquires softly, "If I am willing to take your offer, is there anything I need to sacrifice? I mean, I love the sun and it would be regretful to give up on one thing I love to do all my life, that is to sunbathe. I love sunbathing in the warm breeze air." Sookie figured out quickly that Eliza must be a vampire after her statement about walking with her through eternity, but she also realized that Eliza was not only a vampire but something else, so her curiosity got ahead of her, she asked, "I'm sorry Eliza before I take any offer from you. There is one thing that I am curious about. I figured that you were a vampire when you asked me to be your eternal companion, but I realized that since you can walk in daylight as well."
An impression is an understatement for this little girl, Eliza is highly proud and excited to raise this young intelligent girl as her daughter, her progeny, now than ever. Eliza smiles, then looks at Sookie with warmth in her eyes, "Yes little one, I am indeed not only a vampire. I am also a fairy, which you may call me, a faery-vampire hybrid."
Surprised, Sookie exclaimed, "Fairy? You are a fairy? I thought fairies were only in fairytales. Wow!" Eliza chuckled at the girl's exasperation.
"Yes, kleiner. I am a fairy and a vampire. Yes, fairies exist but we have gone hiding in another dimension after the war between fairies and vampires millennia ago," Eliza smiles at Sookie.
'Wow! Eliza is a fairy! What a fairytale is that?! Never in my 17 years, I would have ever thought I would meet a fairy! Wait. She is not a human at all. How is she related to us?' Sookie wonders.
Eliza sees a confusion circling Sookie's face, she asks, "Is there anything else you would like to know, little one?"
"I'm sorry. I just thought you were related to any of my family, I realized you are not human at all. Are you somehow my ascendant in any way? If so, how are you related to humans like us?" Sookie implied.
"You are a very smart girl, meine Liebe. I am indeed your ascendant. Your great-grandfather, Niall Brigant, is my maternal relative," Eliza replied warmly.
"My great-grandfather? Niall Brigant? Who is he? My gran never mentioned anything about him to me. How is he related? Gran, do you know anything about him?"
Adele sighed, knowing this situation would come forth, "Yes Sookie, dear. Niall Brigant is your great-grandfather, he is the father of your grandfather, Fintan Brigant. He was also my lover. Fintan and I fell in love with each other, but Fintan was unable to have children, so we decided to find someone in the Human Realm for me. That was how I met your grandfather, Earl Stackhouse, who is a human/faery hybrid. Earl inherited a telepathic ability like you. Fintan came to the human realm frequently to check on me, and Niall seemed to Fintan and respect his wishes not to contact his human relatives."
Sookie was surprised, hearing all these facts that she had never known nor been mentioned before by her grandmother. But she respects her grandmother's personal reasons, in fact, she is intrigued by all the new information she is receiving. She wonders if her grandfather, Fintan is still living or not. If he is, could he recognize her as her granddaughter? Would he expect something out of her?
Eliza observes Sookie quietly, she can feel the surprise and interest coming from the girl, then it gets replaced by sadness and wonders, "Are you okay, little one?" Eliza asked softly.
"Huh? Oh, yes, I'm fine. I just wonder if Fintan would recognize me and expect something from me. I never would have thought that I would have a magical species as my relatives," Sookie says in a quiet voice, still in her wonders.
"Your grandfather would be impressed to meet you, Sookie. You are a wonderful and smart girl. He would be proud, to share what he knows in his knowledge. His good friend, Desmond, a half-demon, has been looking after you through your years of maturing. He felt your sparks, so he looked out for you to keep other fairies from searching for you," Eliza said.
"What is a spark?" Sookie asked.
"A spark is a magical power that fairies hybrid inherit, it contains an essence coming from the senses. However, not all halflings have a spark. You have had a spark since your birth and it grew stronger as you grow. You will possess more powers once you are in a maturity process. However, your power is limited since you are only 1/8 fairy, once you use all your powers at once, they will dissipate and you will just become a full human," Eliza informs.
Sookie looks apprehensive, Eliza soothes her, saying, "Don't worry, meine Lieber. If you don't want to lose your sparks, you may use them carefully without using them in full force. Your gifts are yours to decipher, no one can take that away from you. If you become my child, my progeny, I will have my fairy godmother to train you with your fairy powers. Is that quite convenient for you?"
Finally, Sookie feels relief as she wouldn't want to trade her gifts to become a full human. Her powers have lived with her since she was a newborn, she wouldn't know what to do if it's gone. 'Oh! What a long time has passed. I haven't got one of my questions answered yet!' So she asks, "I'm sorry Eliza, I realized my previous question wasn't answered yet. Is there anything I need to sacrifice if I take your offer?"
Eliza just realized she skipped a question, she was so entranced by Adele's story that she forgot about that, "My apologies, little one. And don't worry, you won't have much to sacrifice as you can still be in the sunlight and eat mortal food. However, I suggest you keep away lemons or limes because it is poisonous to faery vampires. You also have to limit yourself from sugar and salt, or else, you won't be able to stop. Lastly, cream is what we love but it is also intoxicating for us, it is like alcohol."
Sookie keeps the new information to herself. She is interested in these new details, she would like to know more before she can consider the offer. She, then, asked, "Are there any strengths and weaknesses to being a faery vampire?"
Eliza sits straight after hearing this question, in a serious tone, she replies, "There are a number of weaknesses and strengths to being a faery vampire, mein petit. Like vampires, our weaknesses are invitations to private homes, we get burned by silvers, religious iconography, and holy grounds, as well as irons as it is a fairy's one of the weaknesses. Stakes, magic, decapitation, dismemberment, dawn breakers, heart extraction, and angels all result in death for faery vampires. The strengths of vampires are superhuman strength, speed, duration, stamina, agility, reflexes, senses, and stealth. Vampires and fairies both have the ability to heal wounds, so when we get injured, it enhances the healing in our systems. Vampires can heal wounds of any living thing with their saliva, while fairies can cure broken or withered plants; wounds, broken bones, low vitality, and even diseases and restore the emotions and spirits of others. We also have the ability of conversion, which means a human can turn into a vampire with just our bite. There is a rare ability that some vampires possess, which is a flight ability, my bloodline and family, including myself, can fly. We are able to hypnotize people into doing our bidding. Faery vampires can shapeshift into animals like bats, mists, a single bat, and a wolf, as for fairies, they are able to disguise themselves as beautiful humans. Immortality is a Faery Vampire ability, we live in centuries. As for your fairy side, you have the ability to photokinesis, heal wounds, shapeshift, and mesmerize humans by eye contact in order to seize their minds with a simple phrase or a change of voice, we can use Chlorokinesis to manipulate vegetation, use Umbrakinese to manipulate the absent of light meaning we can manipulate darkness to mentally generate and manipulate darkness. Both vampires and fairies have the ability to glamourize any beings to follow what we want. Lastly, fairies have the ability of Oneirikinesis, the ability to enter a person's dream and converse with that person when fairies go into a slumber. Last, but not least, when fairies make an oath to a person, that person must touch fingers and photokinesis light will come through the person's arm. The oath is to be broken when the one who promises dies."
Sookie listens intently and is fascinated with all the details given to her, Eliza added, "There are a couple more things that you need to know. We are able to speak any language that we desire to speak or learn and are able to understand as others converse in conversations. You will also receive an empathic ability from me, which means that not only will you hear people's thoughts but you will also be able to feel emotions coming from other people, and you can detect their lies and truth from their heartbeats. You will also learn how to control those abilities from my fairy godmother soon after you turn. And this ability that will be given to you is my special personal ability, once you take my blood, as you already have a fairy heritage, you can transfer both of your fairy and vampire abilities to those that drink your blood. However, it can only be possible for vampires or fairies only. Humans will only turn into a vampire when you bite them, they will not receive that ability. I suggest you not give your blood to anyone, especially those whom you do not trust. Blood is sacred. Do you understand, little one?"
Sookie was shocked by Eliza's voice of authority, "Yes Eliza," she said quickly.
"Great. Are there any more questions you need to ask?"
"No, Eliza. I will accept your offer," Sookie said softly, bowing her head low to Eliza.
Now Eliza is surprised, "Really? Little one, you have to be sure of your decision. Are you sure, dear one?"
"Yes, I am sure. I feel a connection with you as the pull calling me to you. I feel that you can be trusted and you seem to be honorable in your duty and words. I respect that about you. I feel safe and warmth around you, you give me a sense of comfort that I have never felt before. I know you will be a good maker with the aura that I feel from you," Sookie said confidently.
Eliza smiles warmly and sends Sookie pride in her words, "Then it will be an honor for me. Thank you, meine Schatz," she warmly says and caresses Sookie's cheeks softly.
