The "McLean" Mountain, owned and named after playboy and famous actor Tristan McLean

The McLean mountain was cold and unforgiving. Darkness sprawled over the creatures they primitively realized it was a sign of danger. The silence in the woods was deathly, with mysterious screeches filling it every now and then. At the heart of the mountain, stood a cabin lodge that contrasted the whole mountain. Full of life and bright lights, teenagers inside partying and celebrating the holidays. Just outside, a man stood watching, stalking them, seizing every moment and every movement they made. He let the fresh blood of a fresh kill spill onto the snow, which crackled in return.

"This is literally prank gold" Affirmed Leo with a wide grin. Frank nodded.

"I got to admit Leo, it's gonna be pretty funny" Smiled Frank.

"Leo don't you think you're taking this... 'prank war' with Thalia too seriously? I mean come on" Percy clearly disapproved.

"Don't be such a bore Percy, she started it and if she's smart enough, at the end of our war she's gonna beg me for mercy and peace" Leo responded. He wanted everything to be perfect like the self-title he had, "The Prank Master" with jokes and pranks to die from laughing. No prank was too big, no prank was too strong. Leo took pranks seriously. He had successfully convinced Hazel, Piper and even Frank to participate in his prank, and now the next one would be Percy. Percy made a face to Leo

"Hey man trust me. Don't act as if Thalia has never messed with you Percy"

"Don't act as if you've never messed with me Leo"

"I'm just saying man, it's just a harmless prank. All you gotta do is ring the doorbell and me and Frank will take care of the rest" Leo finished. Percy looked reluctant, but caved in under peer pressure

"I guess... I can ring the doorbell. But I'm not doing anything else" Percy agreed. Leo's face contorted into a wide grin

"Awesome! Now everybody knows what to do, right? Piper you go upstairs distract Annabeth and Jason to make sure they don't open the door, Hazel you prepare our props, Frank you're with me, when I give the signal, It's go time. While Percy being a pussy-"

"Hey!" Percy interjected

"Will only ring the doorbell. Are we all clear?" Everyone nodded and giggled like a bunch of preschoolers Piper went upstairs to the room Annabeth and Jason were in. The rest went outside. Meanwhile Thalia was in the kitchen, getting herself a drink. She stared at Luke, her passed out boyfriend, who even unconsciously still maintained a grip on the bottle of scotch. Thalia carefully grabbed it from his hands, to find it was empty.

"Jeez Luke" Said Thalia, very impressed with his performance "Once again, you've outdone us all" Thalia's remark was cut off by the loud doorbell ring. Thalia waited until she realized no one was getting the door

"All right fine, don't move your asses, I'm coming" She shouted at no one in particular. She walked to the living room and grabbed the handle, which was freezing cold, turned it and opened the door. To her surprise nobody was there.

"Hello?" Thalia said, a bit creeped out "Anyone there?" She asked again just in case. The sounds of the wind and the forest were the only ones that replied. Then she saw it. The fog didn't make it clear to see but Thalia was sure that was an axe. Reluctantly, she got closer.

"You have to be fucking kidding me" she muttered to herself. Her steps in the snow became heavy and loud she got closer and noticed a bright color that contrasted with the scenery. Blood. Thalia had a mental debate wether not to grab the thing or not. She decided it wasn't a nuclear bomb. She slowly grabbed the handle. She felt the rough wood and got splinters from it. Nothing else happened. She tried pulling it. The sharp click of machinery filled her ears and Thalia was grabbed from behind. Thalia panicked and shaked around, the hands touching her and not letting go. In a split second, Thalia grabbed the axe with a hard grunt and swung it full force. The unknown figure was pushed back into the snow, his head rolling around the floor. Thalia turned around to find she had decapitated... a mannequin. Too late she realized. Freezing water came down in her and in the next moment, a liquid that was bright red which looked too much like blood. In a moment of euphoria, Thalia shrieked, believing the blood was hers for a split second before hearing her friends' laughter.

"What the-" She said, still disorientated. Percy, Leo, Frank and Hazel came out of their hiding places and Piper, Annabeth and Jason came outside

"What the hell happened? We heard a noise like a-" Annabeth was cut short by Leo's growing laughter.

"OH HA! I got you sooo good! Told you, don't mess with Leo, 'cause you gonna get DUNKED!" Leo said in a loud voice.

"Are you okay Thalia?" Asked Jason sweetly.

"No Jason, she's not okay, she just got pranked by the prank master himself. Are you ready to give up this silly war before you get seriously hurt" Said Leo in a mocking voice, taunting her by pouting to simulate an annoyed face. Thalia took a shaky breath, and with rage in her tone she declared

"Fuck. You. Leo" She sharply put up her middle finger and ran off to the woods.

"Thalia where are you going" Shouted Jason.

"Thalia it was just a prank" Said Leo, but Thalia was already gone.

"What did you guys do" Said Annabeth in a hateful tone. Percy put up his hands.

"It was..." His voice died "Just a stupid prank" He said quietly.

"You know what I think? You guys are a bunch of jerks" Said Jain in an unusual angry tone. Leo looked apologetic.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know she was gonna react like that. Thalia's always took my pranks like a champ" Said Leo with a sarcastic tone at the end.

"Well clearly we scared her off. What should we do?" Piper asked looking at the group. No one volunteered to go after her nor said anything. Those who participated in the prank were looking at the ground.

"Maybe we should just let her cool off" Offered Percy "We all know how Thalia is. When she's mad she kills anyone who's within a 50 mile radius"

"Percy's right. She doesn't calm down easily. The only person that can calm her down is Luke and he's... out for the count" Annabeth agreed. Everyone nodded softly, except Leo.

"Should I go after her?" Said Leo. Jason raised his eyebrow.

"I think you're kinda the last person she wants to see" Affirmed Jason. Leo decided not to fight it and along with all his friends, he went inside the cabin, waiting for Thalia.

Mountain path

23:16

I was running and running. I didn't even look back. Nothing could save me from the humiliation I just felt. I dodged long branches from trees and jumped to avoid the roots. A rocky path laid out not exactly perfect for running. I fell hard, tripped by a stupid rock. It made the cold ten times worse. I slowed down until I completely stopped, catching my breath in the process. All the feelings that running had avoided for me came crashing to me like a car with no brakes. I was soaking wet, with pure red whatever Leo had used to replicate blood and bruises from falling and being splintered by that stupid axe. How could I have been so gullible? The setting didn't help. There was fog and falling snow that made it unclear to see, and the darkness of the woods made it feel like a whole other world outside of the lodge. So creepy, so easy to believe you're being stalked. I had let my clearly wild imagination took control in that situation.

"Fuck. Not falling for that ever again" I muttered to myself. I also came into sense. I should get back to the lodge. I coughed once because of the cold and started walking in the opposite direction I came. The snow crunched under my feet. I took a good look for the first time of the forest. It was dark and generally creepy. The occasional deer passed by, a mere shadow swishing back and forth seemingly starting to follow me. Distant screeches of whatever animal was there could be heard, like a shriek of hunger. Suddenly, fire erupted out of nowhere. Thankfully, that was far above me so I just noticed the change in temperature, but this was getting creepy. I started to speed up a bit, trying to shake off the feeling that I wasn't alone in these woods. Along the way I saw blood on the snow. Real blood, not the kind Leo had put on me. It led to a trail that ended in a tree.

"What the Fuck?" And well, at this point as you can see I had enough. I was getting chills from this place. Then, I heard a very loud thump near the tree where the trail ended. I took a deep breath and slowly started walk towards there. I pushed some bushes out of the way and crouched down to see what it was. Just sitting there was a squirrel. A dead squirrel. It was covered in a pool of blood. Not only that, I found something else near it.

Totem Found

Death Totem

That was it. I got out of there as fast as I could, piercing through the fog and avoiding obstacles. The mysterious screeches were more frequent until suddenly, they got louder. I stopped in my tracks. The screeches were closer now. The fog made it unclear to see but I could have sworn in the fog I distinguished a human figure. I started running backwards. I turned around running full sprint while looking backwards and making strangled noises. I fell down again hard. My chin was scratched and hot and soaked red, either with false blood or real blood. It was right behind me. I clumsily stood up, throwing snow all around and started running again until reaching a cliff. A dead end. I turned around to face the fog while slowly walking backwards. I couldn't see anything, just snow falling like raindrops. A tall human figure emerged from the fog. It started to take a clearer form with more detail, but before I could describe it, I realized my big mistake. I was still walking backwards. I was fresh out of terrain and my left leg slipped on the edge, making me do a violent split before my whole body slipped and I started falling. By pure instinct, my hands started moving wildly looking to grab onto whatever. For a second I fell... only for my right arm to grab an overgrown tree root at the edge. My legs were like a chandelier, hanging on with my legs in midair, gravity pulling me down. I tried to get a better grip by also holding the root with my left hand, but as soon as I moved an inch, the root snapped. For a moment I thought I was gonna fall but the root held on. I felt a sudden change of temperature in the air and a sound like a screech. It was freezing cold and I only had my sweater on which in this weather wasn't nearly enough, but the temperature was rising not falling. I felt hot. Probably my body systems working overtime, to keep me warm or something. When I looked up, I realized it wasn't my body. Actual flames were erupting up there, singing off my eyebrows. The screeches became more like a howl of pain. Then, it went deathly silent. I tried to move my head to see anything else. Suddenly, a man appeared out of nowhere near my face.

"Oh shit!" I screamed. A man's face completely covered up appeared, and it became clear he was reaching out and asking me to take his hand. My thoughts were meddled up, wondering if he was a psycopath or if he was genuinely trying to help me. My choices were letting go or grabbing this man's hand. And as murderous as he looked, I decided I had no choice. I reached out to grab his hand, only for the root to really snap. It gave in, and within seconds, my brain registered me falling to my death.
