TMNT: Worlds Rise
Chapter 1: Prologue
It was a typical day in New York city, but the citizens were unaware of what was happening just underneath their feet.
Deep in the sewers, in a secret lair known by very few people, some activity was happening.
As in, a quartet of humanoid turtles were in the middle of training.
Their names were Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo. Or Leo, Donnie, Raph and Mikey as they are known by their friends.
Their were currently undergoing training from their sensei and adoptive father, Hamato Yoshi, or Splinter as he was currently known, a former ninja master and now a rat mutant.
As stated previously, they were in the middle of training.
"Hajime!..."Was heard.
It was Splinter, who watched as his adoptive sons were still sparing.
It was Leo versus Raph, and Donnie versus Mikey.
"BOOYAKASHA!..." Mikey hollered as he used his nunchucks.
Donnie dodged this and used his bo staff to block his hyperactive brother's attacks.
"Wow, you avoided getting hit for once, Donnie..." Mikey joked as he evades the bo staff.
"Hold still for once..." Donnie said while his brother kept bouncing around with each effortless dodge.
"Maybe swing faster for once..." Mikey said in a showboating way as they continued to spar.
Meanwhile, Raph charged at Leo with his sais at hand while Leo used his sword to evade his strikes.
"You're as sloppy as usual, Raph..." Leo said as the metal of both weapons clashed against each other.
"You're as mouthy as usual, Lame-a-nardo!..."Raph shouted, getting competitive.
Again.
As the two sparred, Splinter watched their progress so far. He noticed that there was not much and he frowned.
"Your adventures in space did little to improve your skills, and did less to improve on your greatest flaws..." Splinter said sternly.
"See! Even he knows you're not a great as your think!..." Raph said with a grin.
"I was referring to you, Raphael..." Splinter chastised.
Raph paused upon hearing that.
"WHAT?! Come again?!..." He shouted, ignoring Leo.
Leo took advantage of Raph's distraction and swept his leg, causing Raph to fall.
Mikey stopped his flipping around to see what happened to Raph.
"Heh... he wasn't paying attention..." He said before Donnie swung his bo staff at Mikey's feet, making him fall.
"Heh, it is funny..." Donnie remarked with a smile.
Mikey had fallen on Raph, who pushed him off in a fit of anger.
"Get lost, Mikey!..." Raph shouted as he got up and become confrontational.
"Ouch, ease up!..." Mikey complained as he got up and rubbed his arm.
Raph ignored him and turned his attention towards Leo.
"Looks like someone needs to brush up on his form. Among other things..." Leo criticized, getting under his brother's skin.
"Oh yeah? You think you're so great! Being the guy who thinks he can look down on me for not being that great!..." Ralph said in a sour tone.
"All I'm doing is pointing out flaws in your fighting..." Leo said.
"Flaws?! You think after all we went through with the Triceratons that I'm flawed?!..." Raph shouted.
"All I am saying is that you could benefit from a little more training..." Leo tried.
"Fine, how's this for training?!..." Raph snapped as he charged at him with his fists ready.
The two brothers kept trading punches and insults as they "sparred".
"You always think you know everything and can just talk down to me, huh?!..." Raph went in anger.
"You know that isn't what this is! Geez! For once, I'd wish you would try and see things from my point of view, Raph..." Leo argued.
"Oh, you mean being Splinter Junior? Yeah, it must be hard seeing things when you're on a pedestal as high as Mount Everest..." Raph said sarcastically.
This aggravated Leo as he used his sword to swing at his brother, the metal of his sword clashing against his sais.
"You forget, I know how you fight!..." Leo went before pushing Raph back.
"Then you should know I'm not someone who you can look down on!" Raph snapped at him.
"I'm the team's leader and I would appreciate if you at least ACT like you're listening once in a while!..." Leo criticized.
"And I'd appreciate you learning to keep your opinions to yourself!..." Raph argued.
Mikey and Donnie, who were taking a break, saw this and groaned while rolling their eyes.
"Not again, this makes it like what? How many times have they had this same argument?..." Mikey asked.
"This month? 103..." Donnie snarked, both paying no further attention as their older siblings kept squabbling.
"I am sick and tired of you always nagging me and saying something's wrong with me!..." Raph yelled.
"Maybe if you actually listen to me for once, I wouldn't NEED to nag you so much..." Leo argued.
"Maybe you should mind your own business!..." Raph snapped.
"Enough!..." Splinter said, his loud voice echoing the lair.
All four of them straightened quickly, stopping what they were doing as they slowly turned to face their stern father looking at them disapprovingly.
"Clearly, 6 months without supervision had done much damage to your growth, including your maturity..." Splinter said.
"Sensei, with all do respect... you weren't there. You hadn't seen anything of what happened to us..." Raphael pointed out.
"Oh, do you believe what you experienced was important enough to prove me wrong?..." Splinter asked with sarcasm.
"Maybe?..." Mikey asks as he started listing events off.
"Well... we ticked off an evil bug alien, Raph got a girl salamander alien as a girlfriend, we were on the Triceraton homeworld, fought in a gladiator battle, I got aliens to invade my brain and-..." He noticed Splinter's disapproving scowl at him.
"Oh... that was sarcasm..." Mikey went with a nervous chuckle before hiding behind an unamused Donnie.
Splinter sighed.
"It seems you four have six months worth of re-education. Be prepared, for tomorrow, we will do some basic training..." Splinter said as he walked away.
"UGH!..." All four of them went in irritation.
"AND CLEAN YOUR ROOMS!..." Splinter added as he was outside their dojo.
"Sometimes I wonder what Splinter would be like if he was more chillax, like us..." Mikey said.
"And by us, you mean you..." Donnie snarked.
"I don't think that'd be a great idea..." Leo said.
"Oh, there's a big shocker, Leo doesn't like an idea that's not his..." Raph complained loudly.
Leo's fists shook in anger before taking a deep breath, not wanting to get in further trouble with Splinter.
"You don't like that idea, Raph? Here's another. How about... you get your shell back to your room so I don't have to look at your face a second longer?..." Leo ordered.
Raph scoffed at him.
"Finally, a plan of your that I can live with listening to..." Raph stated.
As Raph went to his room to brood, Leo sighed.
"He's always so stubborn..."He mumbled.
He watched as Donnie went to his on some new invention and Mikey went to watch Krognard with Ice Cream Kitty.
It was clear they had no intentions of cleaning their rooms right now.
Leo frowned, but he couldn't help but feel some slight envy for his more carefree siblings.
"It must be nice not having to deal with the responsibilities as leader..." Leo thought, sighing bitterly.
He knew his duty and role in this team and he took got seriously, but he would be lying if he said he hasn't thought before what it would be like to NOT be in charge, have someone else worry about the things he has to and he would have more time to goof around like his brothers do.
However, as the oldest son and per Splinter's request, he was the team's leader and he has to act like it. Even if his brothers make it difficult for him.
"Who needs them? I can practice on my own..." He said as he decided to go back to training and then clean his room to avoid angering Splinter again.
He was also unaware that soon, he'd learn just how different he and his brothers could be.
Meanwhile
In Another Dimension
It was a typical day in ANOTHER version of New York city. And once again, the citizens were unaware of what was happening just underneath their feet.
Deep in ANOTHER sewer, in ANOTHER secret lair known by very few people, some activity was happening.
There ANOTHER quartet of humanoid turtles were there. Their names were ALSO Leo, Donnie, Raph and Mikey, and they were in the middle of training.
Or at least THEIR version of training.
"COWABUNGA!..."
"HOT SOUP!..."
"ODACHI!"
"ARCHIMEDES!..."
All these were heard as they...were watching a Lou Jitsu movie and mimicking some stunts on the screen.
Their father had just eaten cake and was now sleeping, which gave his sons the chance to use his TV for a change.
"HOT SOUP!..."Lou Jitsu said on the screen after defeating the bad guy and saving the damsel in distress.
"HOT SOUP!..." The turtles all shouted as they copied the film star's moves.
"Man, this movie always get me pumped before hero time..." Raph, the largest and oldest turtle, said with a grin.
"Hero time? I didn't pick anything on recent news about crimes..." Donnie said.
"I know but I think a quick patrol of the city would do us good..." Raph explained.
"Or...we can put on "Jupiter Jim's Last Trip to the Moon" and milk the uninterrupted TV time before Dad wakes up..." Leo said.
Ralph frowned, only to see his other brothers were nodding.
"I love JJ's last trip to the moon!..." Mikey said excitedly.
"Agreed. Granted, you can't really call it a last trip when it spawned over 60 direct to video sequels..." Donnie said, not caring much for said sequels.
Ralph grumbled loudly.
"Come on guys, we gotta take this seriously. Just because Big Mama took care of Shredder for us, not that I trust her, doesn't mean the city ain't safe, just safer..."He reminded.
His younger brothers groaned loudly at this.
"Come on Raph, we have been going out every night this week and found nothing. For all we know, the Foot skipped town after their monster boss tried to eat them or whatever he was gonna do..." Leo complained.
"That doesn't change the fact that mutants like Meat Sweats or Hypno-potamus are probably causing trouble..." Raph pointed out.
"Not that I want to side with Leo, but the fact that the most terrifying crime known to have been committed this week alone was... guy steals apple. Considering this is New York, what a town, that's kind of a new low..."Donnie pointed out.
"We must be getting better at this..." Mikey reasoned.
"Better or not, we can't stay down here all night..." Raph said while motioning his arms out as he accidentally dropped a carton of milk on the floor.
Not that any of the Turtles noticed.
"Are we getting better? I mean, you'll notice that no one ever calls us "Mad Dogs"... I don't see anyone we bust or even those purse snatchers we caught last night saying that anything but "giant turtles" caught them..." Leo pointed out.
"First off, we are NOT changing the name!..." Raph went defensively. "Second, as the oldest, I say we go!..."He said, being bossy.
"Ugh, fine but can we get something to eat first. I'm starving..." Leo said dramatically.
Just then, the others stomachs started rumbling, including a sheepish Raph's.
"Fine. We can stop by Run of The Mill pizza for a bite but then patrol..." Raph said, something his brothers agreed to.
"Aww yeah, baby. Super Creepy Supreme, here I come!..." Mikey said, eager to eat.
"Agreed. The only place in town we can dine-in... despite the odds of coming across yokai who hate us being high..." Donnie said as he typed on his wrist computer.
"Go get the Turtle Tank ready, Don. I wanna get there ASAP..." Raph said.
However, Leo had his own ideas.
"There is no way I am waiting a second longer for Donnie to get us there after he almost got us late to that Yokai chili cookoff last month. Plus, I got a short cut..." Leo said as he pulled out his sword.
His brothers panicked as he raised his Odachi.
"Leo, no. Last time we got separated and you sent us to Tahiti..." Raph said.
"And you COULDN'T send us back there, even when we asked..." Donnie complained.
"Come on guys, I have been practicing. Just watch..." Leo said as he took a stance.
He began to use his usual moves to summon a portal...but he also didn't notice the discarded milk carton near his feet...the same one he was about to unknowingly step on.
If he did, perhaps certain events that were about to transpire could have been avoided. But alas, things were about to come to a collision.
