Chapter 22: Time running out and last shot at victory. As the three Y wings begin their assault, the Gold leader prepares his computer device before he speaks. Gold leader: Switching to target computer. Gold two: Computers locked getting a signal. He said as the Y wings continued to travel to the assigned target but as they did they noticed that the lasers that were firing at them before suddenly stopped much to the group's surprise. Gold two: The guns they stopped! Gold five: Stabilize your rear deflectors. Watch for enemy fighters. Gold leader then notices that three enemy ships were closing to their position fast. Gold leader: They've come in! Three marks at two ten. He warned his fellow gold members. Scrooge was listening into their audio before he spoke. Scrooge: Curse me kilts. Ya lads are running into a trap! Get out of there. Now! He tried to warn them but they continued to approach the target. Donald: I don't think they can Uncle Scrooge because we don't have any more time to wait! Luke: He's right. Time is now not our best friend and we have to start acting now. Luke said in agreement. In one of the approaching imperial ships, Darth Vader was in the center ship as they managed to trap and follow the Y wings. Vader: I'll take care of them. Cover me. He told his fellow pilots as they did just that as he started to take aim at Gold twos ship before he could have a chance to act, Vader managed to shoot Gold twos ship causing it to explode. Both Gold leader and Gold five noticed this which caused Gold leader to panic as Vader slowly started to aim at his ship. Gold leader: I can't maneuver! Gold five: Stay on target. Gold: We're too close. Gold five Stay on target! Gold leader: Loosen up! Vader then has a perfect aim at Gold leadership and fires, causing his ship to explode as well. As Gold five notices this, he then reaches out to Red leader before he speaks as the three Imperial ships chase him down. Gold five: Gold five to Red Leader... Lost Tiree, lost Dutch. He reported. Red Leader: I copy, Gold Five. Gold five: They came from behind... He said as Vader aimed at his ship and shot it down before Gold five had a chance to finish. Beakley: Well that's great so much for that plan working out. Della: It seems like these imperials are always one step ahead of us. Daisy: Well we need to come up with a new plan quickly because the station is almost reaching the base's location. Red Leader: Red Group, this is Red Leader. Rendezvous at mark six point one. Wedge: This is red Two. Flying toward you. Biggs: Red three, standing by. They informed the Red Leader until he heard Dodonna's voice speaking to him. Dodonna: Red Leader, this is Base One. Keep half your group out of range for the next run. She informed him before the Red Leader responded. Red Leader: Copy, Base One. Luke, take Red Two and Three. Red Twelve, Thirteen, and Fourteen you follow behind them as well. Hold up here and wait for my signal.. to start your run. Donald: Got it. Della: Copy that. The six X wings then follow Red Leader's ship to begin their next move. The Red Leader then takes a moment to look around for any imperial fighters before he speaks. Red Leader: This is it! The Red leader said as he drove down the Death Stars trench as Red Ten's ships and another X wing pilot were right behind him as lasers began to fire at the rebel fleet once again. As they flew, Red Ten checked to see if any imperial fighters were following them before he spoke. Red Ten: We should be able to see it by now. Red Leader: Keep your eyes open for those fighters. He said as laser cannons continued to fire at them. Red Ten: There's too much interference! Red Ten: Red Five, can your group see them from where you are? He asked him. Luke: No sign of any... wait! Luke said as he noticed the same imperial fighters approaching the Red Leaders group. Luke: Coming in point five. Red Leader: I see them. Donald: It looks like they are coming on your guy's position really fast. Scrooge: So whatever you lads do be careful. Red Leader: Got it. We're moving fast as well. Red Leader said as he pulled out his target device. Red Leader: I'm in range. He said as the three X wings start to quickly close in on the target with Vaders group catching up to them. Red Leader: Targets coming up! Just hold them off for a few seconds. Red Leader said as Vaderlooks into his target on the X wings with his group closing in behind them. Vader: Close up formation. Vader told his fellow two pilots as he aimed at the third X wing which didn't take long for him to get a clear shot before firing the ship down before putting his focus on Red Ten who noticed that he was being targeted next as he tried to avoid being fired at. Red Leader: Almost there! The Red leader said as they almost reached the target as Red Ten started to get overwhelmed. Red Ten: I can't hold them! He said as Vader managed to lock his target on Red Ten's ship before shooting his ship down as well. However, Red Ten's distraction was good enough for REd Leader to reach the target and make his shot before making his escape. Red Leader: It's away! He said as the Red Leader flew up. Back in the Massassi war room everyone looks at the results of Red Leader's shot but notice that his fire did not have too much impact they hoped it would cause. Red Nine: It's a hit! Red Leader: Negative. Red Leader said as he looked at the damage his shot caused before he continued. However as he did Vader continued to follow his tracks. Red Leader: Negative! It didn't go in. It just impacted on the surface. Red Leader said as he started to fly back towards his group. Della: It only caused damage on its surface! You've got to be joking right now! Penumbra: It almost seems like we can never even catch a break in this battle at all. Launchpad: At least it caused damage. So then maybe the next fire can do much more harm. Beakley: How does that make it a better LP? We are running out of time and we might only have one last chance to destroy this station. Luke then noticed that Vader was following the Red Leader and attempted to come to his rescue. Luke: oh-five; we'll cover for you. Luke said as he desperately tried to come to the Red Leaders rescue. Red Leader: Stay there... Red Leader ordered Luke in order to not put him in any danger as he started losing control of his engines. Red Leader: I just lost my starboard engine. Get set for the attack run. Red Leader said to Luke as he tried to maintain control of his ship as Vader managed to get a good aim on his ship before firing his ship as it started to fall. All the REd Leader could do was scream in agony as Luke, Scrooge, Della, Donald, and the rest of the remaining crew noticed the Red Leader's ship crashed and exploded on the space station's surface. Back in the Massassi war room everyone was silent to witness the Red Leader's death but also in a state of panic as the Death Star was only one minute away from reaching its destination. Leia was seen walking back and forth panicking heavily as she knew that they were almost out of time. Scrooge: It seems like we only have one more chance at winning this one lads. Donald: Let's make this one count because it's now or never. Luke: Let's do this then! Biggs, Wedge, Scrooge, Della, Donald, let's close it up. We're going in. We're going in full throttle. Wedge: Right with you, boss. Della: Alright, we are right behind you, Luke. Full throttle engaged. The six X wings quickly flew down towards the surface towards the Death Star and started to quickly fly back towards the target as fast as they could possibly go with time winding down. Beakley: You have to be careful. Looks like the rest of us will take care of the rest. Daisy: Wish you guys the best luck and hope we do not miss this one. Launchpad: Seems like this is gonna be it. This is our final chance to put an end to this. Penumbra: Hopefully they will make the most of it. While we try to fight off the remaining imperial fighters. The six X wings continue to fly quickly towards the target as they do their best at beating out the time before the Death Star reaches its destination. Biggs: Luke, at the speed will you be able to pull out in time? He asked, feeling concerned. Della: Well we don't really have much of a choice since time is not our best friend right now. Luke: Yeah Biggs we don't really have an option at this point but I think I can. It'll just be like Beggar's Canyon at home. Biggs: We'll stay back far enough to cover you. Scrooge: And make sure those blasted Imperials don't hold much of an easy chance against us. Luke: Ok, that sounds great you guys. Wedge: My scope shows the tower, but I can't see the exhaust port! Are you sure the computer can hit it? He asked, concerned. Donald: Well let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that it would. Luke checks for a moment to see if any Imperial tie fighters were coming onto their position before getting out his target device before he spoke. Luke: Watch yourself! Increase speed at full throttle! He said as the six X wings continued to pick up more speed as they kept closing in onto the target. Wedge: What about the tower? He asked as he looked for any Imperials approaching them. Luke: You worry about those fighters! I'll worry about the tower. Donald: Are you sure about that Luke? He asked him. Luke: Yes Donald, I'm absolutely sure I could take care of the tower. He said as the Death Star Lasers started to fire at them once again. As they flew past the lasers, one shot struck one of Luke's wings close to his engine causing Luke to start stressing out. Della: Luke your hit! Scrooge: It seems like it's close to your engine. You need to think of something quickly! Luke: Don't worry I'm getting it all under control. R2.. that, that stabilizers broke loose again! See if you can't lock it down! He instructed R2 as the droid started to work on the ship's damages. As the group continued they noticed several cannon fires started coming close to them. Wedge then turns and to his horror he notices that six Tie fighters started to approach them. Wedge: Guy's it looks like we have company! Biggs: How many do we have. Wedge: We have six imperials coming in. He informed the group much to their horror. As the group turned they saw Vader and Lunaris piloting the same Lead Tie fighters while leading four other original Tie fighters close to them. Lunaris: Haha, We have you trapped rebel scum! As well as you Della Duck and your two pathetic Uncles. You don't have anywhere to run now! Della: Crap! LUnaris is with them as well. This is not good at all. Wedge: Who's Lunaris? Donald: Does he know that we are with you guys? They asked in confusion. Scrooge: Now is not the time to answer questions. We need to think of something quickly. Della: Let's just try to stick with the plan and end this thing. Biggs: Are you guys sure about this? He asked, concerned. Luke: We should be getting close to you guys. Let's just keep moving forward. As the six X wings continued to get close to the target. The six Tie fighters continued to close in on the Rebels as Vader fired on Wedge's ship not enough to get it destroyed but critically damaged. Wedge: I'm hit! I can't stay with you guys. He panicked. Luke: Get clear Wedge. You can't do any more good back there! Scrooge: Save yourself while you still can, lad. We got it from here. Wedge: I'm sorry you guys! Good luck! Wedge said as he pulled his ship away from the battle. Lunaris: One down. Five to go. What should we do with him, my lord? He asked Lord Vader. Vader: Let him go! Stay on the leader! Lunaris: Yes sir. Lunaris said as he fired on Donald's ship also damaging it. Donald: Ahhh! I just got hit as well. Della: Crap. Get out of here Donald. Save yourself while you can. Donald: I can't just leave you guys here. Scrooge: Just get out of here, Nephew. You did your part. Donald: Alright. Just stay alive while you can. Donald said as he also quickly flew to safety. Lunaris: Two down. Four to go. There goes your pathetic brother, Della. Lunaris said as he fired at Scrooge damaging it too. Scrooge: Aw blast it. Lunaris got me too. I can't keep up as well. Della: We should be close, Uncle Scrooge. Get out of here. Scrooge: Alright. You guys go beat Lunaris and the empire. Scrooge said as he also flew off. Lunaris: Three down. Three to go. Goodbye to your so-called rich great Uncle Della he is not there to protect you this time. Della: Luke, there's only three of us left now. Biggs: We got to hurry, they're coming in much faster this time. We can't hold them. Luke: R2, try to increase the power! He said as the tiny droid struggled to do just that as the six tie fighters closed in on them. Luke then checks his computer to see how close they are getting to the target. Biggs: Hurry up, Luke! He said in panic. Della: Keep it together Biggs, we should almost be there. She said as Vader started to aim at Biggs' ship. Biggs: Wait! Biggs tries to tell Luke before Vader fires at his ship causing it to explode stunning both Luke and Della who quickly turn to anger as they focus to complete the mission. Della: They are going to pay for this. Della said as she got her computer out as well. Luke: Della, what are you doing? He asked her. Della: When we reach the target. I'm gonna fire alongside you to blow this darn thing up! Luke: Let's finish this then! He said as Vader starts to get an aim on Luke's ship. Vader: I'm the leader. He said as Lunairis got an aim on Dellas ship. Lunaris: And I got you, Della Duck! The two remaining x Wings are almost closing in on the targets while using their computers before Luke heard a familiar voice. Ben: Use the force Luke. He told Luke who quickly recognized his voice. Ben: Let go, Luke. He said as Luke was not sure if that would work or not. Vader: The force is strong with this one! Vader said he could start feeling the force as well. Back inside Lukes ship he was still not sure if the force could work. Ben: Luke, trust me. He encourages Luke as he decides to turn off his computer which surprises Della, the remaining pilots, and everyone else in the Massassi war room. Base voice: His computers off. Luke, you switched off your targeting computer. What's wrong? He asked, concerned. Luke: Nothing, I'm all right. Della: You sure you know what you're doing? Luke: Trust me Della, I do. He said as Vader fired at Luke's ship which hit R2 causing the small droid to spark out of control. Luke: I've lost R2! He said in panic as he looked for the exhaust port. The Death Star has now managed to reach Yavin's forth moon as the station slowly prepares to explode it into bites as everyone inside the Massassi war room starts to panic and start reaching for the escape pods as the Duck kids were guided by Duckworth and some other rebel officials but some including Leia and 3PO continue to watch the computers screen. Vader and Lunaris then both got a lock on Luke and Della's ship. Vader: I have you know. Lunaris: Good bye for real this time Della Duck. However before they could fire two of their Tie fighters were suddenly shot down. Vader: What? Lunaris: What just happened? They both asked in shock. Luke and Della looked up and noticed the Falcon had made its return with Han and Chewie at control. Han: Yahoo! Solo said as he fired again causing the other two fighters to try and move away but exploded towards Vaders and Lunaris ships causing them to lose control. Han: You're all clear, guys! Han said as he spoke on their audio. Della: I can't believe it. He actually came back for us. Han: Now let's blow this thing and go home! Han said as both Luke and Della noticed the exhaust port as they fired their laser torpedoes inside before they flew off with Han, Donald, Scrooge, Beakley, Daisy, Launchpad, Penumbra, and all of the remaining Rebel fleets. Inside the Death Star the Empire almost begins to fire their weapon on Yavins forth moon while the Imperial commanders including Tarkin watch in anticipation of the Rebel bases Destruction but before they would fire the weapon the whole entire Death Star explodes killing everyone on board as the Rebel Fleet survivors along with Han and Chewie fly back to the Rebel base. Vader and Lunaris can only watch helplessly as the whole Death Star is gone and they struggle to control their own Tie fighter ships. Lunaris: NOOOOO! PHOOIE! Lunaris said in complete dismay.
