TMNT: Worlds Rise

Chapter 8: Back Home

It was the next morning on the Mad Dog's home universe.

It was also Saturday and a certain girl named April O'Neil was on her way to visit her friends.

"I hope that the guys in the mood for ice cream today..As if they never are..." She thought as she used the secret entrance.

She soon entered the lair, ready to have some fun with her mutant buddies.

"Yo guys!..." April went, entering the lair. "Anyone up... for..."She paused.

She then saw for herself that Splinter was on the floor, rocking back and forth in fetal position, with a despairing look on his face.

"My boys... my boys..." He repeated like a mantra.

"What in the heck?!..." April went as she ran to him.

"Splints? What's wrong?..." She asked.

Splinter sat up, seeing April there. He gasped in relief.

"April?! Oh, thank goodness! Please tell me you know where the boys are?!..." Splinter said as he shook her by the shoulders.

"Whoa! First off..." April said as she pushed Splinter back. "I know you live in a sewer, but showers are a thing..." She said, due to the rat mutant's unpleasant odor.

"Second... I thought they were home..."She said.

The ninja master/rat mutant shook his head furiously.

"No, they are not. They've been gone all night!..." Splinter went.

"They have?..." April asked.

"They left me a note saying they went out to get some pizza, but they never came home. I called Run of the Mill Pizza, but Hueso said they never showed up..." Splinter said looking agitated.

"For real?!..." April asked, looking concerned.

The rat man nodded quickly.

"April! You know all the places they like to visit behind my back! Take me to them now, because I hope for their sakes that they've been taken against their wills!..." Splinter went, still panicking.

"Uh... okay... I know some spots..." She said.

"Good. I will get the tank ready. Come on!..." Splinter said as they rushed to the vehicle.

Later

April and Splinter began to search the Turtles usual spots.

Just like Hueso said, they were not at the mutant pizza place, nor where they anywhere in the Hidden city.

Splinter paced back and forth until April approached him, having been on the phone.

"Okay, I just talked to Sunita. She hasn't seen the guys at all..." April said.

"Then we have to keep looking. Buckle up..." Splinter said as he floored it.

They had a few more places to try.

At Cuddle Cakes Puppy Rescue

Splinter and April arrived at Todd's and asked the Capybara mutant if he had seen the Mad Dogs.

Unfortunately, the friendly mutant shook his head.

"Sorry, Splinter. Sorry, April. But I haven't seen the guys at all..." Todd said, while his puppies looked sad.

"I was hoping at least Mikey and Raph were here..." April said.

"If I see them, I'll let you know...in the mean time, is there any way I can help?..." Todd offered.

"Not unless you can make them reappear with a snap of your finger..." Splinter said.

"Okie dokie..." Todd said, snapping his fingers joyfully, despite knowing that'd do nothing.

Splinter and April went back to the turtle tank and continued their search, wondering if in fact the boys were with a villain.

Later

At the Junk Yard

They soon arrived to the junk yard and were now confronting Repo Mantis.

The shady mutant was scowling at their presence as she took out an engine from a car.

"Where are my sons?!..." Splinter demanded.

"Do I looks like a turtle nanny? I haven't seen those chumps since they ruined my try to reposes a baby crib last week. Now either buy something or get lost...unless you wanna be a snack for my kitty?..." Repo said as his cat monster mutant appeared, eyeing Splinter with hunger.

But Splinter was not afraid.

"Kitchen's closed!..." Splinter said as he used his ninja skills to evade the cat monster and knock it out with a swing of his tail to its face.

The end result was the cat mutant being knocked out...and landing on top of Repo Mantis.

"Ahh! Get off! And how dare you hit my baby!..." Repo shouted but couldn't get out, being trapped under the large monster.

Splinter and April ignored his yells, and turned to each other.

"Well, this was a bust..." April said.

"Let us keep looking. Someone must have seen them..." Splinter said, desperate to find his boys.

They soon left the junk yard, while Repo Mantis remained trapped underneath his unconscious pet.

"Anyone out there?! Save me and I'll charge you 10% off your next purchase!..." Repo shouted, but no one came for him.

Later

The two arrived to the park and found Hypno pottamus up to his usual antics of using his "magic tricks" to terrorize citizens.

Splinter managed to defeat him and was now interrogating him.

"Where are my sons?!..." He demanded.

"I keep telling you that I haven't seen those turtles anywhere. Not since they ruined my last magic act, which would've been a lucrative success, if not for those meddlesome pests!..." Hypno insisted.

His last act involved making rain fall backwards and carrying people's expansive valuables, but failed due to the turtles interference.

Splinter was not convinced, arms crossed, when someone landed in front of him.

"Beware!..." Warren Stone shouted as he appeared.

"Yeah, it's me! Warren Stone, the biggest, baddest foe of the Teenage Mutant Loser turtles and-..." He was cut off when Splinter grabbed him and practically squeezed him in his fists.

"So, you know where the boys are?! Spill the Beans! Right now!..." He demanded.

"Uh...well..not really..no...but I-..."He didn't get to finish as Splinter carelessly dropped him.

"This is getting us nowhere!..."Splinter shouted.

"Hey, you can't treat my buddy that way!..." Hypno said as he picked Warren up.

Splinter just sent them both a harsh glare and made the larger mutant back away out of fear from the angry rodent ninja master.

Splinter then turned to April.

"Let's go…" He said.

"Y'all ain't even worth using finishing moves on..." April said as she tried to look tough while following Splinter back to the turtle tank.

As Splinter and April left, Warren and Hypno shared a look.

"What's with the moody rat man in the bath robe?..." Warren asked.

"Someone clearly woke up on the wrong side of the cage this morning..." Hypno said.

Warren said nothing but smiled at his comment.

"Nailed it..." He said as they did a fist bump.

"Yeah, it was a great verbal burn I just threw down..." Hypno said ad the two mutants decided to head for home.

Afterwards

Splinter and April soon arrived to the Stock and Shop grocery store. They also spotted who they were looking for.

Baxter Stockboy.

However, since it was still day time, they couldn't risk Splinter entering the store where he could be spotted.

Splinter had the idea to dress himself up to look human, but April decided to take the lead on this one.

"Okay...I'll go inside myself and make that little twerp tell us where the guys are..." April said.

"He may be a child, but he is still dangerous. I cannot let you go in alone..." Splinter said.

"But that place is crowded, you can't go-..." April was cut off when she spotted Splinter's current and sudden wardrobe change.

He was wearing his Randall disguise again as April groaned.

"This again?!..." She asked.

"This disguise works...now let's go..." Splinter insisted.

"Ugh! Fine..." She said as the two entered the Stock and Shop.

They looked around and soon found Baxter outside, at the back of the store.

He was currently desperately trying to raise his viewer and followers count by using some out of date trends like the ice bucket challenge, unboxing videos, the flossing dance, auto tuning his volume and currently doing a cat video with a stray cat. Which failed and left him with a lot of scratches.

Now, he was searching new topics. Or, he was until April grabbed him by the collar and lofted him up.

"Uh… what do you want?..." He questioned.

"Okay, Poindexter. You got 3 seconds to tell is where Leo, Mikey, Raph and Donnie are! Starting now!..." April demanded, glaring at him.

Baxter glared at her.

"I haven't spotted those freaks anywhere. I've been too busy with my latest and greatest scientific invention that is guaranteed to make me the richest video blogger of all time..." Baxter said as he readied a large robot resembling his microbots.

"And that is?..." April asked.

"A larger variant of my microbots. I call it… the Mouser. I'm gonna use it follow me as I do a music video in one take..." Baxter declared dramatically.

"So...my sons are not here?!..." Splinter asked, sounding upset that this was another dead end.

"No...and you two won't be able to stop me as I-..."To his surprise, April and Splinter turned their back on him and began away.

"Hey, where are you guys going?..."Baxter demanded.

"Duh, to find the guys. They ain't here, so we don't need to be either..."April said.

"So...you guys...aren't gonna stop me from dominating the internet social media hiarchy?..." He asked, sounding unsure.

"I care even less than I did before! Besides, all you do is chase trends without doing a unique take on it..." Splinter said, more concerned about his sons than some publicity stunt.

"And I have better things to do that waste my time on some brat, who's desperate for attention. See ya kid..." April said, throwing a peace sign as she and the mutant rodent man left.

Hey, what kind of wannabe heroes just walks away from a super genius villain like it's some regular Tuesday?! Especially after he revealed his plot to rule the world through fame!..." Baxter said in an insulted tone, but was ignored.

"The same ones that don't feel like babysitting an antagonistic elementary schooler when we have much bigger concerns to deal with. Laters..." April responded while entering the turtle tank after Splinter.

As they left, Baxter was confused and felt under appreciated as a villain.

"Some heroes they are..." He muttered but decided to go back to his scheme.

However, his mother then noticed the absence of the electronic kitchen equipment and got mad.

"BAXTER?! WHERE ARE THE NEW JUICER AND BLENDER WE JUST HAD IN STOCK?!..." She demanded.

"Uh oh..." Baxter said as he tried to hide his invention and the rest of the leftover pieces of evidence that he use kitchen equipment to build his machine with.

He was too late.

"What… is that?!..." His mother questioned angrily.

Later

Splinter and April arrived at Chateau Prétenche, where Meat Sweats was in the middle of cooking mutant silverfish that he caught.

The pig mutant spotted them and tried to attack Splinter, but the rat mutant managed to dodge him and knock the mutant pig man off his feet and lock Meat Sweats' arms in place to prevent him from escaping.

"Release me and I promise the meal I make from you will be with fresh ingredients!..." Meat Sweats shouted, but was ignored.

"I have very little patience to waste on Pig Sweats. Now tell me where are my sons?! Did you captured them?!..." Splinter demanded.

"I haven't seen those turtles anyplace, TGI Parmesan. If I did, they'd have been in my stomach by now!..." Meat Sweats, letting out a snort.

Splinter looked disappointed with that answer and saw no reason to stay here any longer. The rat mutant then let the pig mutant chef's arms go and walked away.

"Waste of time..." Splinter said, about to leave.

However, the gluttonous mutant chef had other plans.

"You aren't going anyplace, you still owe me a meal after that whole tank fiasco..." Meat Sweats said as he tried to attack again.

However, Splinter managed to evade these attacks and preformed a perfect roundhouse kick right in Meat Sweats' face.

"You picked the WRONG day to pick a fight with me..." Splinter said as he kicked him off his feet.

Outside

Meanwhile April was waiting on the turtle tank both listening to music and listening off any other remaining places they haven't checked yet.

"Let's see… that could work. That too…" She listed off, as Splinter arrived to the tank.

With Meat Sweats down and unconscious, Splinter let out a groan.

"Oh, my back is acting up again... knew I shouldn't have skipped out on my routine home exercises..." Splinter said as he made some conga moves to pop his spine back in place.

"Okay...our friends haven't seen them and these creeps haven't seen them either...this is starting to seem real bad that even I'm starting to get worry for the guys. What do we do now Splinter?..." April said.

"We keep looking. If they are anywhere in New York, we will find them..." Splinter said, determined to find his sons.

Later

April and Splinter spent the next few hours looking and interrogating more enemies and contacting more of their allies.

Piebald hasn't seen them, they weren't anywhere near the old Lou Jitsu schools, nor were they at the Mystic library or their other favorite pizza places and their other friends and allies haven't seen them either. Bullhop was clueless as well. Loose Lips Malinowski knew nothing on whereabouts the turtles. Even Draxum claimed not to have seen them either, and he was the only other person who would have known given he was technically their second father.

They also interrogated more enemies too.

The Purple Dragons were still under house arrest and haven't seen them, Ghost Bear was far more concerned about his record being broken by another and was knocked unconscious after he, in an act of pettiness, tried to prevent them from continuing their search.

The Sandos brothers were harassing tourists, but were stopped by Splinter, but they hadn't seen the boys either.

Marcus Moncrief hasn't seen them and fortunately doesn't seem to be kidnapping people anymore, so they left the old man reenacting his classic space adventures from his acting career. That and avoiding a trip to the loony bin.

Now, they were facing the next enemy on their list.

The Foot clan.

They arrived to the Foot Shack and came across its members.

"You will NEVER STOP US FROM RULING THE WORLD WITH AN IRON FIST-I mean FOOT! Even without the Shredder, we will destroy you!..." The foot recruit shouted in an intense way as she and her leaders face palmed themselves at her verbal slip-up.

"You really need to let us do the talking, even with our most hated enemies..." The lieutenant said.

"But seriously though, why are you here? Aren't you making a big risk coming here?..." The Foot Brute asked.

"Who cares about some petty grudge from before any of us were born from you Kung fu clowns?! Where are my sons?!..." Splinter demanded.

"Do we look like band of evil mutant freak recruiters to you?..." The foot lieutenant said.

"As if the Foot Clan Would ever associated itself with the likes of such grotesque looking monsters like mutants..." The foot brute said.

"Didn't stop you guys from working with Draxum..."April reminded.

"Oh please...he was just a power source for the Dark Armor. He's not even worth recruiting for cleaning the bathrooms now..." Foot Brute said, crossing his arms.

"Recruit, deal with these interlopers while we figure out how to plan our vacation..." The lieutenant said.

"With extreme pleasure..." The recruit said with zeal.

"FOOT CLAN!..." The foot recruit as she charged at them.

Splinter anticipated this and reacted accordingly.

Within two seconds, the recruit and the other ninjas were on the floor, unable to get back up thanks to Splinter managing to knock them all down with ease.

"What a waste of time..." Splinter said as they left the foot shack, but he and April were running out of ideas.

The glasses wearing girl was showing signs of deep concern for her turtle friends.

"Okay, this is scary. Particularly everyone we know hasn't seen them, the flameheads are silent, Meat Sweats doesn't have them in a boiling pot..." April listed off the places they've visited.

"Even Draxum hasn't heard from them..." Splinter went, pulling some of his hair in frustration. "My sons...where are you?..." He said in worry.

The mutated rodent ninja master looked up into the sky as night was nearly upon the city of New York.

"We can't give up, Splints..." April said.

"I know... but there is so few places we could find them now..." Splinter said.

"Okay then, now what?..." April asked.

Splinter thought of another alternative and gulped.

"I was hoping it wouldn't come to this but...we might...have...one more place to look..." Splinter said, looking nervous now.

"Where?..." April asked, but soon realized what he meant.

"You mean?..." She asked.

Splinter nodded.

"We gotta go check...on Big Mama..." He said, dread filling his tone.

"Well, I guess we don't have any other options left...but this just got a whole lot more serious than before..." April said, realizing just how desperate the situation really is to her and Splinter.

"Let me handle this. If I don't make it out in an hour... assume something happened to me..." Splinter said as he took a deep and mentally prepared for what he had to do.

Entering the home of his violent, villainous spider yokai ex.
