Mareah woke up to the bright sun shining down on their navy blue room, she remembered what experience she had last night, and she quickly sat up on the bed, seeing the hickey and marks that had covered her shoulders, she was just glad Ginevra didn't go overboard and get higher, though she was surprised after getting pinned by her, in the end, Ginevra managed to be the one dominating her instead, she looked around her before picking up her pocky, as soon as she pulled one out she sees a note fell out of it, the note which wrote 'take care' with a smirk she quickly got out of bed and get ready for the day though as soon as she set foot to the floor a familiar voice whispered in her head.
"were the things you do with her truly genuine ?" the voice whispered in her head as she simply replied "Anything to break this family curse, anything to get myself free from the pact" She soon heard the whisper very close and a cold breath of air blow through her exposed neck as she heard "hmph, how confident, as always among the Nera family" but she remained calmed and just to be sure she quickly asked "you still remember the exchange I made, do you ?" with the voice simple replied "yes, an exchange for half of my powers...if you can break the pact" Mareah simply sigh before replied with a simple "good" with the voice disappeared as Mareah look to the note and wandered
meanwhile
arriving at the bustling airport Ginevra looked around her, seeing the sign up saying welcome to Vale, though it was clear that the experience would be a bit different from hers, she pulled up her phone, luckily though Mareah had sent a description of the person nickname 'Red', though on the other hand, she wonder why she can't just send the pic instead, though looking at the description couldn't tell much since she look around she can see people with different version of red hair, some dark, some bright, some wine and some even mixed.
she could simply sigh as she stood there making sure to check the description and analyze the area, yet with how bustling the area was, it was hard to find which one was the right person "Excuse me." she heard someone call as she turned around. she saw a girl with crimson red hair, and red eyes, she was wearing what seemed to be a simple jacket with a black t-shirt underneath, with some trousers with her hand holding a case, Ginevra quickly looked at the description to be sure before the girl said "there's no need to check, I have a picture of you as proof" she said as she shows Ginevra picture in front of her, with the sender being from 'black wave'
"so, how should I call you ?" Ginevra asked thinking it best to start with an introduction "Sorry for not introducing myself, my name's Kanik, and I assume you must be Ginevra that she mentioned" she apologetic as Ginevra simply replied "Yes" though Kanik quickly hinted at her follow her with the two quickly find a place to think of the plan "so, we're going to forever fall ? or are we getting something to do first ?"
"Considering the time that cargo will be set was around, I think it's best we take some time to be prepared." Kanik explained as she simply brought Ginevra to the nearby restaurant that was in the airport "First time in Vale?" Kanik looked back at Ginevra as she looked around the airport trying to make sure if she had been here before or not "You can call it that way" Looking back she saw Kanik had her hands on the tablet menu "Need anything ?" she asked kindly with her hand already finish picking up what she will be eating "I'll have what you had" Ginevra quickly replied since it is her first time here, might as well try what Kanik having plus she didn't have the confidence to guess this place food being well or not yet
with a tap of the screen, the food was now in order, they got the receipt and a small device, written the number '22' with Kanik quickly grabbed the two things "So where would you like to sit?" as Ginevra looked around the place before finding an empty two person table that was also beside the glass fence, allow them to look at the underground mall in the airport, Kanik simply followed where it was, putting her case beside her as she is now sat face to face with Ginevra.
"so, tell me more about our mission" Ginevra suggested with her hand leaning on the table "Well, from my experience there, you'll be needing this." she said pulling out a bottle of insect repellent as Ginevra took a closer look at the bottle "so...what do I have to be aware of ?" with Kanik quickly replied "the usual, grimms, and some dangerous insect, especially rapier wasp, but from what I find, it seems that we weren't alone on this mission"
"tell me more about it." Ginevra began to get curious wondering if someone was leaking the info or if was it a coincidence "Well, from my investigation, it seems that on the opposite side of the forest from where I was, there seems to be some smoke coming out." Kanik explained remembered trying to find the source but she had to keep in position "Do you have any idea who they might be ?" Ginevra wonders
"Sadly no info on that, as for their goal, I think your guess is as good as mine" Kanik replied just as the food arrived it was a bowl of chicken thighs with wings that were deep fried and then covered with hot sauce, and a net bowl filled with garlic bread with a cup of fizzy drink to add to the mix "so, did you tell her about it ?" Ginevra asked Kanik grabbed the chicken and replied "I do, though she replied with a simple continue, that's all" before chowing down on the food "Is that so..."
a while later
Ginevra was quickly brought by Kanik to the place Forever Falls, the place where it is always in fall, with grass as red as blood, and a tree that had red leaves with a path covered in them, soon Kanik quickly put her case under a tree as she began to took off her outer jacket, she quickly opened the case revealing a few things to Ginevra, inside there is a suppressor, a two types of magazine that was fully loaded with different version of ammunition, and a sub-machine gun resembles the vector, painted in black, on the top side there is a place to put some clothes in it, as quickly Kanik began to assemble the weapon, putting the suppressor to the barrel before she put on a red and black jacket as a camouflage to the surrounding area, now she is ready as she close the case "let's go"
kanik brought Ginevra to the train track, seeing Kanik quickly transform her machine gun into a sniper rifle with an iron sight attached to it, to prevent reflections, as she got in position to the nearby tree, quickly changing her ammunition to ones that fit the sniper rifle, while Ginevra stand beside Kanik as the two began their wait, Kanik kept her cool and use her training as she was barely moving throughout her position, while Ginevra kept an eye on the track before look at the time, seeing the time the train technically should be here any second before Kanik had her gun ready, soon they heard the sounds of a train coming, as they see a black train arrived with the front passing them by pretty quickly, with Kanik quickly aim for the wheel, with her finger ready on the trigger, she prepared to shoot
but suddenly the train stopped "Huh?" Kanik wondered as both figures found it weird before Ginevra thought she should see what was going on "I'll go and check" Before she got up only to be stopped by Kanik said "Wait, wear this" She gave Ginevra what seemed to be a communication device, with Ginevra hear Kanik saying "tell me in case something happens, okay ?" with Ginevra simply nodded, as she ran toward the moving train with Kanik stand by keeping her eyes peeled on the train.
Ginevra looked around the train and soon she saw that the roof of the train had its hatch open wide, After a quick climb on the ladder she got close to see the hatch seemed to be cut open, with some blade marks made a clean cut to the hatch "impressive" she thought to herself before she hops down the hatch, though what in front of her was far from what she expecting, as she sees robots chopped to pieces with some electricity leaking out of its wires, a gruesome scene for sure.
"Ginevra ?, Ginevra, can you hear me ?" her communication device called as Kanik's voice could be heard clearly from the device "Yes, I can, Kanik" Ginevra replied Kanik quickly asked "So how's your surrounding so far ?" with Ginevra look her surrounding before replied simply "a mess, a bunch of what seems to be 130s all scattered and butchered."
"hmm, be careful, Ginevra, consider how early the train stopped, the intruder must still be on the train," Kanik said as Ginevra nodded before she quickly walked passed the dead 130s, going through the door to see an open area, with a bunch of cargo on the side though in the middle she see a standing figure wore all black with a rose emblem on the back of its jacket, red spiky hair, Ginevra look down seeing he was armed as she quickly hide behind the doorside.
she kept an eye on the figure, sensing a menacing aura out of him before he screamed, as the sounds could be heard clearly, she could sense fury in its scream, whatever it was she had to get ready with her hand on the pommel of the sword, as one of the 130s began to sense an intruder around the area as it called out "INTRUDER, IDENTIFY YOURSELF!" as she heard this she sensed something approached behind her at full speed, as she quickly ran but when she turned around she sees a masked figure dash toward her his hand ready to pull his sword, she quickly pulled one of her swords try to block the attack but she was surprised to see the slash suddenly unleash a red beam which pushed her back a few feet
she quickly landed on her feet with her other hand and quickly grabbed her other sword, while the figure began its attack once again, the attacker began to unleash a volley of slashes sometimes it appeared to have two or more people doing the attack at the same time, leaving her little room for errors, before one over slash which Ginevra quickly blocked only to received a kicked, pushing her back further.
the figure had his sword ready as he is ready to stab Ginevra, but Ginevra quickly looked behind him, as soon as she saw he was ready to stab, she pushed it aside with her sword before she quickly ran to the opening when she turned around she saw him unleashing another slash pushing her out of the train, and getting herself to a much open area, seeing the she quickly made her slashes throwing out all of her boomerang as she yelled "Red, red alert!" to the communication device before she engage in combat.
receiving this Kanik quickly changed her gun to a submachine gun as she ran to the train, changing her ammunition as quickly as she could, as she tried to find the location, but she could hear the sounds of steel clashing, now she just had to be quick, meanwhile, Ginevra was exchanging slashes with the figure, as the boomerang she threw had a hard time hitting him, with his speed on every attack, he easily block and parry the attack with ease, Ginevra decided that she had to be faster as she began to catch up her pace leaving little room for the attacker
as more and more attacks were exchanged she saw the figure suddenly sheathed his sword, as Ginevra saw the chance she quickly made an attack, with her sword inching every second toward the opponent, she suddenly saw a smile as the surrounding area turned blood red and the opponent covered in a void, with the sword unsheathing she realizes it is a trap, she quickly tried to use her other sword to block the incoming attack, but as soon as the opponent fully drew his sword, she was suddenly pushed to the air, with a huge beam of death hitting her sword, she used all her strength to block, seeing it was no used she quickly pushes the sword, pushing herself away from the attack, with the last of her strength she pushed it, evading herself from the deathly attack, but as she falls she began to lose consciousness, the grip of her sword loosen as she fell to the floor.
the figure got close sheathing his red sword, from what he had seen he realized the girl in front of her could be used for the white fang, as he quickly carried Ginevra like a piece of metal, just in time for people of the white fang came through the call through the mask "adam, what's the commotion ?" with a click on the mask adam replied "nothing much, just some random trespasser, although, I think this one can be useful to us, also, change of plan, hijack this train for the people underground" with the voice over the mask quickly replied "understood" as he walks away while carrying GInevra unconscious body.
Kanik, managed to get to the train with her gun pointing at her surroundings making sure it was safe before she continued moving on "Ginevra, can you hear me ?" no response, the silence worried her as she ran forward remembering the place Ginevra mentioned, before soon she sees the opened hatch, assuming this must be where she'd had entered, she quickly ran to the front with her guns ready, soon she quickly pointing the open area seeing no ones there, yet she sees Ginevra weapons scattered, she climb up and began her investigation, seeing slashes around the floor, with some boomerang stuck to the ground with ease, she soon see Ginevra sword, quickly picking them up, seeing the button she presses it, a sudden whoosh coming behind her as the boomerang that stuck to the ground had return back to the sword in an instant.
she was just glad she ducked quickly or things get ugly, quickly she picked up the other sword doing the same this time with more safety in her mind, with a press of a button the other two boomerangs suddenly returned to the sword in a second, she look to the two sword, whatever had happened here, she have to report it back to to Mareah "QUICK!!" she heard a voice of someone orders, she can hear some foot stepping and snapping some branches and leafs, realizing there are more people than she can handle, she quickly make a quick run, running back to the forest, yet when she jumped, she accidentally stepped on a bended sheet of steel, causing a noise that can be heard from some distance "WHO'S THERE !?" she heard one of them called as she continue her run, soon she heard some footstep behind her back
with a quick check of her surroundings, she quickly found a tree to hide, she quickly looked at her gun wondering what should she do before she took hold of her breath, and kept herself still, yet she heard some rustling footsteps approaching her, judging from the footstep, it's time for her to estimated the distance and the number of people, she quickly closed her eyes, and with a used of her semblance she see the surrounding in cold blue while the target in red, she sensed it, it was around 5-6 people, armed with melee weapons, and the distance one of the people from her was around 10-9 feet away, thinking it is enough of a distance to let her use it to her advantage.
with a quick release of her breath, she opened her eyes, and began to walk out a bit before turning around to keep her gun on the enemy "DON'T MOVE!" she said keeping her guns ready toward them as they had their weapon at hand though what surprised her was the mask they are wearing, yet not believe if it was true or not she decided "put down your weapons! or else..." she said to them hinting at the consequences for not following what she said, with them all slowly and carefully putting their weapon down she demanded they turn around, for her to confirm who she is against "GO NOW!" she shoos them away to see them all began to run away from her
she sighed in relief, before she walked away from the place, walking back to where she put her bag, she pulled out her phone and told mareah the news of what happened, now she could only hope Mareah could handle this sudden news as she quickly walked back to her bag.
meanwhile
Mareah read the news, unable to explain how she felt at the moment, she didn't know how to react to it, she now had to help herself find a way to bring back GInevra without messing up against the white Fang, she put herself in her arms, trying to find a solution, yet the thought of Ginevra in danger...worries her as tears began to fell out of her eyes, before the whisper came to her once again, this time it didn't come out of her mind but rather, it came from somewhere else
