This story answers some questions left unanswered by CIC, and plays around with the characters from 24. You might also notice I use elements from my previous 24 stories. It also goes into certain recent events, like the evacuation from Afghanistan and the war between Russia and Ukraine.

113. Chapter 113

10:27 pm Kabul

President Daoud finishes his call with president Keaton. It is too early to be able to verify this intel, but Daoud feels he has looked the other way with G'ulom for too long. And now this, the last thing Daoud wants is to give the Americans a reason to stay in Afghanistan any longer. Daoud calls his people and gives them the green light, and to do what must be done.

Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida drive towards the signal. They don't know which specific bomber this will lead to, but they have every reason to think they are armed and not afraid to die. This will have to be done carefully to prevent them from blowing themselves up and taking innocent people down with them.

President Keaton is speaking with president Suvarov of Russia.

.

Keaton: It seems mr president that Dimitry Utkin was behind the assasination of your president, and the attempted assasination of my president.

Suvarov: Yes, my people are going over the intel now. I will take appropriate measures against Wagner.

Keaton: If possible, I want them taken alive. We can work together on their prosecution and appropriate punishment.

Suvarov: Yes, if it is possible we will take them alive.

Keaton: Their purpose was to drag our countries into endless wars. My military will be out of Afghanistan within the next 90 minutes. Are you willing to end hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.

Suvarov: If Zelensky and his government are willing to agree to certain condition, such as amnesty for collaborators, and elections so that the people of Donetsk and Luhansk can decide for themselves who to ally with.

As they were talking Gardner hands president Keaton a note. The note says "6th bombers killed, no civilian deaths." President Keaton gives Gardner a thumbs up and smiles, all while speaking with president Suvarov.

Keaton: The exact specifics can be negotiated at Camp David. Are you willing to agree to a ceasefire while negotiations begin?

Suvarov: Yes, if Zelensky agrees to the same.

Keaton: I believe he can accomodate that. Thank you.

Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida continue moving towards the signal. They then receive a call from George Mason.

Mason: Our field agents just stopped the bombers in Chicago. The bombers were both killed, but before they died they sent out a text.

Jack: To who?

Mason: Whoever it was destroyed their cellphone immediately after. And it seems that the recipient was in Baltimore.

Tony: Which is where we are right now.

Mason: There are two bombers in your area. They still don't know the exact location, could be your bomber or the other one. But assume that your bomber knows you're on to them and be careful.
