Hydro Dragon Reawakened

Chapter 1

It's been a month since Fontaine's waters rose and receded. The Traveler must be on his way to Natlan by now. Neuvillette sat at his desk, looking over some papers. Ever since that day he saved Miss Navia from dissolving inside the Primordial Sea, he felt off lately. Maybe he should go see Sigewinne to look him over.

Yes, that is a good idea. He rose up from his desk and walked towards the entrance of the Palais Mermonia. When he reached the Opera Epiclese, a pounding headache appeared. He placed his hand pressed against his head. He just had to wait it out on his way to the Fortress of Meropide.

When he arrived, most people were once again surprised to see him. They began whispering about him.

"Is that Monsieur Neuvillette?" said a worker.

"I wonder why he's here?" whispered another worker.

"He doesn't look too good." whispered another.

He heard the whispers. He must be failing at keeping his composure. He finally made it to Sigewinne's medical room.

"Sigewinne--" Suddenly a sharp pain in his head appeared. He right away placed his hand against his head, grunting in pain.

Sigewinne turned around from healing a patient. She was shocked and surprised to see Neuvillette. And he was in pain!?

"Monsieur Neuvillette? Are you okay?" she asked him.

"Sigewinne, please, could you check if I am alright?" Neuvillette asked. His head was pounding so hard he could barley speak.

"Of course! Here," Sigewinne grabbed onto Neuvillette and led him to an empty bed. He sat down, his hand still on his head.

Sigewinne took a step back and looked at Neuvillette. She hummed as she evaluated him. But then a worker came in, interrupting her.

"Sigewinne! Someone fell off from one of the pipes during pipe cleaning! He's broken a leg!"

"Oh! Yes, I'll be right there!" Sigewinne called. She turned back to Neuvillette.

"Monsieur Neuvillette?"

"Go." Neuvillette said. "I can withstand it while you're away."

"Are you sure?" Sigewinne said.

"Yes." Neuvillette said, managing a small smile.

"Okay. Just stay there. Don't move." Sigewinne said as she hurriedly walked away.

Neuvillette sat there and closed his eyes. He breathed in and out, hoping Sigewinne would return soon.
