Class 1-A, Day…

Thirteen days before the Sports Festival was to take place, Class 1-A was brought back to the USJ where they would participate in their rescue training. This was a makeup class considering their last training was interrupted by the League of Villian's attack.

Even though she suffered the worst of that day, Thirteen was back to do her job. "Well, that happened, but class is still class."

"Can you really move Thirteen?" Uraraka asked concerned.

"My back does hurt, but I am certainly capable of giving you this lesson." Thirteen retorted.

"We're wasting time talking." Aizawa voiced. "Let's just get this class started since we're ready."

"Um, Mr. Aizawa?" Izuku spoke up. "Isn't All Might supposed to be here as well? Where is he?"

"I don't know." Aizawa replied. "Just forget about him today."

"This is looking an awful lot like the USJ incident." Rex thought as he gazed down at the central plaza, though no void appeared. "Hm, maybe I'm just being paranoid."

Rockslide Zone

The group was over at the rockslide zone, ready to go.

"Alright, let's start the exercise." Thirteen announced. "Three students will be at the bottom of this chasm. One with a broken leg, another unconscious, and the last one panicking."

Kirishima and Kaminari noticed how large the chasm was.

"That's a big drop!" Eijiro shouted.

"How're we supposed to even get down!?" Denki asked.

"What kind of reassurance is that!?" Tenya embraced the role of Hero and ran to the edge. "Do not worry citizens, for the Heroes have arrived!"

"Jeez, he's quick to get into character." Kirishima commented.

"Every time too." Kaminari added.

"All right!" Uraraka cheered. "Let's do our best and save the people in trouble Deku!"

"Right." Izuku declared, determined to succeed here.

"The three injured will be Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida." Thirteen announced.

The three 'injured' got ready before the rescuers were decided.

"Salazar, Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, and Bakugo, you four will be the Heroes." Aizawa pointed to some gear that would be useful for getting the 'injured' up here. "Use those to your benefit."

"Why the hell do I got to save Deku of all people!?" Katsuki yelled out.

"Is that going to be your response in an actual situation?" Salazar asked, drawing his attention. "As a Hero, will you deny help to someone who needs it merely because you don't like them?"

"Why you…" Bakugo ground out.

"He's right Bakugo." Momo informed. "As Heroes, we can't pick and choose, nor have any reservations about, the people we save."

Bakugo merely growled at that before a cry for help was heard putting the 'Heroes' into action.

"Alright, let's go." Shoto stated. "Who's dropping?"

Bakugo ignited his palm. "I'll destroy the mountain to create slope."

"That's a terrible plan." Rex shook his head. "You'll make a rock slide and kill them.

"That's Bakugo for you." Tsu commented. "He acts by instinct rather than thinking."

"The injured are going to be in trouble if the other three don't act." Denki added.

"Yaoyorozu, make a pulley with your Quirk." Todoroki started. "Salazar, you're dropping, and we'll send the pulley down. Use it as you see fit."

"Stop deciding what I get to do, bastard!" Katsuki yelled out, grabbing Shoto by the collar.

"Calm down Bakugo!" Momo tried.

"All we're doing is wasting time." Rex walked to the chasm. "All four of us are standing around talking while people are in danger. How do you think that would make actual civilians feel? I'm going down, now. You three sort this out and get moving on your end of the rescue."

He then built his Boogie Pack and put his goggles on before descending.

"Don't worry!" Momo called out to the bottom. "Help is on the way!"

"Please hurry!" Tenya screamed, clearly the one who was panicking.

"We're finally saved." Izuku stated quietly, portraying the guy with a broken leg.

Ochaco was on the ground, trying not to laugh from this sheer comedy gold.

"I know, from what you've managed to see, you likely don't have much faith in my compatriots and I to save you." Rex had landed. "For that, you have my sincerest apologies, but I promise we're here to ensure your safety."

He bent down and gently picked Uraraka up. "Right now, to get you all out, I'll need you to be a Hero with me sir." He was looking at Iida. "I know this situation is terrifying but be strong for your injured friend."

"Yes sir!" Iida declared, still pretending to panic a bit.

"Don't worry." Rex gave him a smile and a nod. "You're safe now."

"Right." Tenya replied.

He moved to carefully pick up Izuku while doing his best to avoid putting pressure on his 'broken' leg.

"Alright, the situation is all good down here!" Rex shouted out. "We'll wait for you to send the pulley down!"

"Thank you, Hero!" Iida spoke in a grateful manner. "You've saved us in our time of need."

Rex flashed him a smile. "I'm just doing my job, sir."

"Wait, why don't you just fly us out of here one by one?" Midoriya asked.

"In a situation where all can be saved in one trip, I believe it is the duty of a Hero to do as such." Rex responded. "After all, to leave behind anyone when you can save them sooner would be a terrible mistake on my part."

"Truly inspiring words!" Tenya complimented. "I would applaud you if I wasn't carrying an injured friend."

The pulley came down, so Rex ensured the male pair were on safely before tugging the rope. This signaled to the others that they should pull up, and when they did, Rex flew right alongside them still holding Uraraka's body.

"The ability to rescue people without using your Quirk is how most modern Heroes shine now, but when your Quirk is compatible with the job, it makes things much easier." Thirteen informed the group. "Though, not everyone will have a compatible Quirk.

Some might not be able to help as much as they want. That's why having a group is important, especially for rescue. Why, take Bakugo for example. He knew his Quirk wasn't compatible, and did what he could to help, which was a good call."

"That's not what I noticed." Denki commented. "He was only stopped from using his Quirk by the others talking him down."

"Shut up, bastard!" Bakugo yelled.

"Even with what you said, Bakugo does not stop." Thirteen declared. "Like I said, sometimes your Quirk isn't compatible with the task at hand. Most of the time, this would see Heroes abandon it. We at UA want to teach that you shouldn't do that."

As Rex set Ochaco down, he looked at Bakugo and acknowledged what Thirteen said. Despite this positive to the explosive student, it wouldn't suddenly make them buddies.

Later…

Eventually, the groups switched enough to the point Momo was the 'unconscious' one, Rex had the 'broken leg', and Itsuka was the 'panicking' person. They got saved by Tokoyami, Mezo, Tsuyu, and Sero. Rex was lifted by Dark Shadow, Momo was cocooned in Mezo's arms, and Itsuka was wrapped in tape to cover herself before being strapped to Asui's back.

"Great job for your first time, students." Thirteen complimented. "Now, we move onto another scenario because there is much left to do."

Collapse Zone

"This version of rescue will hopefully give you a more realistic experience since you can't find everyone in plain sight." Thirteen announced, as the class was now in a zone with a destroyed city. "Four of you will be searching for the other sixteen who will be hiding in this zone; however, eight of the hidden cannot speak."

"So, we're playing hide and seek?" Ashido excitedly asked.

"That is a way to look at it; however, this is actually search and rescue." Thirteen responded, as she then pointed out four members of the class. "Midoriya, Salazar, Bakugo, and Kendo are our 'Heroes'."

"Not only do I have to work with Deku now, but I also got to put up with tin can again!?" Katsuki yelled out.

"Just as you aren't allowed to deny rescue to someone you don't like, it's impossible to note you may need to work with other Heroes you don't like." Rex commented. "I'm certain we went over that lesson back on our second day. At this rate, you won't even make it out of year one."

"You really want to have a go today, tin can!" Bakugo growled out.

"Whoa, take it easy Kacchan." Midoriya attempted to diffuse the situation.

"This is one volatile grouping." Itsuka thought.

After Everyone Hid…

Two minutes went by before Thirteen addressed the 'Heroes'. "Let the training, begin!"

"There are sixteen confirmed civilians, so the best course of action would be to split up in an effort to cover more ground." Itsuka reasoned.

"No need!" Bakugo was attempting to take charge. "Follow me, garbage!"

He then used his explosions to propel himself off into the collapsed city.

"Even if you looked solely at how he acted today, following him would be the last thing we should do in a rescue situation." Rex sighed. "Welp, I'm heading the opposite direction. Look first for the ones who can't speak and help those who do as you near them."

Itsuka and Izuku looked at one another before nodding as they took off to the left and right, respectively.

Abandoned Building

Itsuka decided to check inside an abandoned building. It was dark, but she could see just fine. When she managed to reach the top floor, Kendo saw Shoto. He was looking very bitter and resentful at what seemed to be a broken treadmill.

"I will not become who you want me to be." Shoto thought to himself.

"I don't believe that to be the face of a Hero!" A voice spoke out, startling Todoroki and Kendo.

"Who is here!?" Shoto declared, standing up ready for a fight.

The ground nearby burst before a muscular figure came out the hole.

"I will admit that Shoto didn't exactly look the most heroic, but that is no excuse to attack him!" Itsuka declared as she charged forward, enlarging her hands.

The big guy managed to see through this and effortlessly pushed her back towards Todoroki.

Shoto stopped the girl from hitting the wall with his ice "Warn the others!" The big guy grabbed his left arm and hefted the guy into the air. "Hurry!"

Rather than listen, Kendo charged the man again and attempted to strike him again, with both fist this time. The big guy lunged back, so Itsuka thought fast before grasping some of the debris which she threw with all her might.

Kendo almost managed to hit him, but he dodged before then using his other hand to grab Shoto's left leg. He held him out like a meat shield, so Itsuka rushed in, attempting various feints as she drew closer, with the intent of pivoting around him to get in a good shot.

The big guy tracked her before ultimately throwing Shoto into Kendo and sending both into the ground. As they attempted to recover, the Villian was overtop the pair and thrust his hands down towards them.

Collapse Zone

"Hey!" Ojiro called out from a hole. "Help!"

"Don't worry, I'll have you out in just a moment." Rex approached the hole while building his Punk Busters. "Please, step back citizen, for I would not want to hurt you."

Ojiro stepped back as Rex jumped down to retrieve him. Izuku ended up finding Kyoka under a car, so he utilized Full Cowling 5% allowing him to push the vehicle over.

Kyoka stood up, rubbing the back of her head. "I was certain you wouldn't find me."

"Midoriya! Jiro!" Iida yelled, panicked as he ran towards them.

"Wasn't he one of the injured?" Kyoka asked confused.

At that moment, the big guy who attacked Todoroki and Itsuka tossed the latter's unconscious body right into Tenya's back. This pushed the speedster into his fellow classmates sending them all tumbling to the ground while he approached with Todoroki's body still in his grasp.

"It's a Villain!" Tenya spoke up, as they recovered.

"Huh!?" Jiro noticed Kendo on the ground. "Isuka?" Then, she looked over and saw Shoto being dragged by the vest. "Todoroki too? He got two of us?"

"That's why we need to hurry and get the teachers." Iida declared.

"I haven't seen them since we started this training." Izuku informed. "It's likely he might have gotten them if neither have shown up."

At this point, Rex and Mashirao arrived.

"A Villian!" Rex shouted firmly.

"It can't be!" Ojiro yelled.

It wasn't long before the rest of the class arrived prompting the Villian to act. "Now that you are here, you won't escape!"

He stomped his foot sending out a massive shockwave that devastated the zone, and it was more than enough to send every student flying. For the most part, they were trapped…excluding Quirks which could get them out. Though those with them couldn't transport everyone at once.

"He's so strong!" Denki exclaimed.

Everyone was just stunned at the situation they found themselves in.

"Alright, the terrain is clear." The big guy declared.

Rex lept a bit into the air, built his Smack Hands, and slammed them hard on the ground to the point his body began moving in the direction of the Villian. By then letting the Smack Hands fall apart, angling his legs, and creating the Punk Busters, he went soaring, feet first, at the villain.

"Release my classmate!" Rex roared.

As the same time, Bakugo came blasting in from the opposite direction aiming for the Villain. He firmed up his stance, taking a Punk Buster enhanced kick to the back and only stumbling. This still left enough of a stance to block an explosion, from Bakugo, with his free hand. Both students back ending up in front of and behind the big guy, respectively.

"Run with the rest of them, tin can!" Bakugo declared. "I will defeat him!"

"Yeah right." Rex scoffed. "Unless your explosions can level a city, pretty sure you'd have done that in the basic training back at the start of the year, I am sticking around. Besides, my attack moved him, unlike yours."

"You two have guts attacking me like this this." The Villian declared.

Since Rex knew Katsuki wouldn't truly work with him, he decided to work around the explosive student by putting his people reading to the test. As Katsuki moved, he moved in ways the Villian couldn't utilize their lack of experience to their detriment.

In essence, Salazar worked to make sure both were hitting the Villian without impeding one another. He was also keeping track of Shoto and attempting to find an opening to rescue him. This at least meant the big guy had to divide his attention between two persistent opponents.

"It's over!" The Villian declared.

He found an opening and swept his arm in a wide circle aiming to take both students down.

"Watch out!" Tenya warned.

Bakugo blasted himself over the arm and Villian while Rex lept above thank to his Punk Busters. Both students just missed slamming in to each other by mere inches. Bakugo, while in mid air blasted himself at the Villian while Rex landed on the ground.

Katsuki laid a hand on the Villian's back while Salazar saw this as his opportunity and lunged forward. The former let off a massive blast right into the Villian's back making him stumble and loosen his grip on Shoto. This is what Rex had been aiming/hoping for.

He was right on target to wrap Todoroki's body in his arms, and with the momentum from his leap, he managed to secure his classmate. Salazar disassembling the Punk Busters to roll along the ground and ended up finishing on his knees next to Katsuki who landed.

"Don't worry about others!" Bakugo yelled at Rex. "Don't just rest on your knees! Make all those weaklings leave!"

"Doubt I could even if I wanted to, which I don't." Rex voiced while gently laying Shoto down.

"Hey Bakugo, who are you calling 'those weaklings'?" Kirishima asked.

"We are the 20 students of Class 1-A." Momo declared firmly.

All remaining students stood with those two.

Ochaco nodded. "We will all be Heroes."

"Oh, how brave." The big guy commented.

He then swung his fist fast kicking up debris.

"I'll take care of it!" Yuga declared, firing his laser.

While that did deal with a large amount, some got past him. This only brought Eijiro and Rikido forward as they utilized their Quirks to decimate the rest of the debris. Jiro then jacked in her plugs and used sound to discombobulate the big guy. Hanta let his tape fly while Momo created a canon that blasted a next over him, ensnaring the Villian twice over.

"Now!" Momo yelled.

Iida, Shoji, Tokoyami, and Midoriya charged in together before the Villian flexed breaking his confines. He then kicked up a massive shockwave which pushed everyone away.

"I didn't think you would all attack me at once like that." The big guy declared. "It's unexpected, but with something simple like…"

Bakugo came in high while Rex came in low, unintentionally working together to capitalize on the opening created by the class. The former got a palm in on the big guy's head and utilized an explosion while the former slammed home a Smack Hand into his back. Even catching him by surprise, the Villain was quick to recover leading to both reengaging him as they had prior.

"Kacchan…Rex…" At that moment, Izuku was struck by an idea. "Tenya, Mina, Ochaco, Hanta, Momo, and Tsu!" He stood up firmly. "I have a plan…"

The Villian swung out his arms sending massive air pressure at both students still battling him. Bakugo was sent skidding back and crouched panting while Rex managed to get his Smack Hands up keeping himself from skidding nearly as much.

"It seems you are tired." The Villian zeroed in on Katsuki. "Time to end this."

"Don't make me laugh." Bakugo got back up with his signature grin. "I'm barely getting started!"

"Do you really think I'd sit back and simply let you end this Villian!?" Rex declared, charging at the same time as Katsuki.

"Now!" Izuku yelled.

He ran at Ochaco, who high fived him to make contact, and utilized her Quirk to lighten him.

"Tsu!" Izuku exclaimed.

She wrapped him with her tongue and spun with all her might before launching him. At the same time, he utilized Full Cowling 5% as he flew right towards the coming clash, and Ochaco released her Quirk giving him further momentum.

"Tenya!" Izuku shouted.

The speedster kicked on his engines to follow right after Izuku. Rex reached the Villian first plowing both Smack Hands into his legs with all his might. This managed to destabilize the Villian more than anything they managed prior.

That was perfect for Bakugo, who came in seconds later letting off a large explosion at the big guy's face. This sent his top half teetering backwards while the bottom half was teetering forwards truly offsetting him perfectly for Izuku.

He crossed his arms and rammed right into the Villian from the side. His current usage of Full Cowling, coupled with how the prior two offset him, finally pushed the big guy off his feet. Midoriya managed to reach out his hands planting them on the Villian's torso.

He pressed off with all his might sending himself into the air just in time as Tenya smashed full force into the Villian. He kept moving only to cease his engines and let the momentum carry the big guy right into a slab of debris. His body shattered it on impact, but he still stopped.

The Villian was encircled by Momo, Hanta, and Mina who let off multiple canons containing nets, fired tape from both elbows, and coupled it all with her acid to act as a sort of binding agent that would make it harder to break free than it had been prior.

"Alright, the plan went off!" Mina declared. "Now, he should find it much harder to escape this!"

"That's good." Izuku declared relieved.

"We did it, Deku!" Ochaco declared happily, as she and Tsu came over.

"Impressive!" Asui added, amazed.

The villain wiggled through the slime, netting, and tape until his head popped out. Somewhere in all that mess, he lost his helmet revealing someone they all knew.

"I am here!" All Might declared.

"All Might!?" The whole class exclaimed in shock.

Aizawa and Thirteen came out from hiding as the students all gathered around the captured Hero.

"These exercises are a bit repetitive and boring when you do them enough." All Might explained. "So, I wanted to add a surprise element to it in the form of a Villian appearing. In the end, you all did a great job."

The class clearly wasn't happy with almost everyone stomping or slapping the Hero. Aizawa had known about this and reluctantly gave his blessing provided the number 1 took responsibility for it. Despite the students' reactions, the other two teachers were impressed by the results.

The two students All Might had paraded around walked up to their class with Izuku noticing. "Todoroki? Kendo? You two were in on this?"

All Might had stopped mere inches from hitting them before revealing himself and asking for their participation in his ruse.

"Sorry." Both apologized sincerely.

Even as they apologized for their part in this, all the blame landed squarely on All Might. At this point, it's only been over two weeks since the actual Villian attack. He could have waited to try something like this later down the road.

Fortunately, Aizawa called an early end to the day after this because people wanted to now go home. Once everyone got the chance to rest and process today, they'd be back on the grind in preparation for the quickly approaching Sports Festival.

I think this chapter shows Rex and Katsuki could make quite the team; however, it clearly wasn't perfect. At this point, Bakugo isn't about teaming up, and Rex didn't trust him to be a team player, hence working more around him than with him...honestly, can you blame him at this point in the story? I mean sure, in the OVA Bakugo did work with the plan Izuku concocted, but I'd still say he has quite the road to traverse before Rex actually works with him like that.

Note: Once again, Full Evo isn't completely in Rex's control. Even with this 'Villian' to focus on, he viewed the potential to lose control as far too high which isn't great considering there are nineteen other people around.

Jose19 (Ch.3): Well, I can't speak for everyone, but for me personally it was something clearly outlined in the anime. Regardless of how far Ochaco's throw actually could have gone, the score we were given was infinity. Here, nothing in my story changed what result would be given, and it wasn't bad in any way. I mean, Rex still got first place, so might as well let Ochaco take the top slot of one test.

3bodyjaa: You're Welcome

Arturwho: No problem.

Maximum Rhapsody: Eventually, there could be. As for the USJ Nomu, I have plans for it.
