Written for Star Trek Femslash Week 2023, featuring Una/Batel, because Marie Batel Lives, Chapel/La'an as side characters, and just all the tropes. Set after s2e10, the Federation is in some kind of (cold) war with the Gorn. Batel and Una lead a reconnaissance mission into Gorn space on the smallest, jankiest ship ever designed to hold atmosphere. How is that not romantic gold?

I got very excited when I saw this update!

It took me some time to finally read the whole thing again but I really liked it. It's impressive how you managed to make this ship work. When I first saw it, I thought there was no way it would work but somehow, with your writing, you actually made it work. I also like how you use La'an and Chapel as side characters.

I am writing this review in order to let you know that I, a reader of your fics, do indeed still exist. Another matter that is now bothering me is that you said in your author's note that you will be posting anything you write from now on to AO3. Does this mean that you will stop posting on this site?

Thank you so much for letting me know there is still at least one reader out there. Unfortunately I was not notified of your review, so it took me a while to stumble across it in the manage stories tab. Also, as you are a guest, I cannot answer your review, hence the whole world getting to "enjoy" this reply.

First, isn't it fun how you can make any two people work if you just write them falling in love convincingly enough? Of course these two aren't a sensible pairing, but that was at least half the reason I started this challenge. I'm so glad you're enjoying the result. Personally it's made me like Una a lot more than I ever managed while writing the whole La'an / Chapel saga, so that's a win too.

Second, that's right, I will not be posting any new fics to this site until (unless) it's fixed. There's just no point flinging my work into a void like that. I will continue to update my two ongoing fics until they're complete, but anything new I write has been and will continue to be posted to AO3. There is nothing stopping you as reader from coming over there, where I can actually enjoy audience interaction (and even answer guest comments), is there? No need to miss out.

However, if there is a reason I don't know about that might be stopping people from reading over on Archive of our own, please do inform me of it. If it really is a problem for people maybe I'll change my mind. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing you over there. It really is a much nicer place.
