He did not go away. He followed.

"He's following,"

"Are you surprised, Inuyasha?" Kikyo asked,

"Funny for a guy who doesn't t give a shit,"

Kagome rolled her eyes and Inuyasha braced for a sit that didn't come.

"I haven't thanked you guys," Kagome finally said,

"What are you talking about?" Inuyasha huffed, annoyed at how close his brother was,

"You are welcome," Kikyo cut in,

Traveling pregnant was not fun, especially with food. Both women grew tired quite quickly; they were about to sit when they saw a two-headed dragon flying down at them, and to all their surprise Tula was on his back, with her mate behind her.

"Kagome!" She called out, waving as they landed nearby.

"Tula!" Kagome took a few steps to her friend, but she was growing weak and fast. "What are you doing here?" Kagome asked,

"Lord Sesshomaru sent for us; Jaken told us to bring the dragon,"

"Doesn't care, my ass," Inuyasha said under his breath.

Kagome glared at him, and his ears went flat.

"It would take you days by foot," Tula tilted her head. "The dragon can get us there by nightfall,"

Inuyasha huffed, feeling silly; he mumbled and grumbled about his stupid brother and then found a pebble embedded in his head. "Ouch, what the hell!"

"Did you think to have them walk the whole way, Inuyasha," Sesshomaru came forward,

Inuyasha became red in the face.

Tula ran back, and her mate helped her back up.

Kagome watched Sesshomaru walk by and up to the dragon "Come, Miko,"

She crossed her arms,

"You are growing weak; even now, you are turning pale,"

"He is right, Kagome," Tula said softly.

Kikyo put a hand on Kagome's shoulder. "He means well,"

She walked to the dragon, and Inuyasha, still pouting, hauled her up on the back.

Sesshomaru held out his hand, and Kagome reluctantly took it. He hauled her up in the middle. "Hold on tightly," he said, hoping she would make it there. He nodded, and Tula and the dragon took off.

Inuyasha didn't wait for Sesshomaru; he took off to follow.

"Inuyasha is hating this," Kagome felt bad,

"It is not what you think, Kagome," Kikyo stated,

"He wanted to prove he can provide, and his brother upstaging him has him feeling bad,"

"But he can," Kagome defended,

"Yes, but he is not alpha." Kikyo told her, "It is a dog demon thing,"

"Sesshomaru is just doing it to aggravate him." Kagome looked down.

Kikyo sighed. "I do not believe that,"

Kagome looked back at her. "What?"

"He is doing what he is meant to do,"

Kagome looked away. "A little late,"

"Better late than never Kagome."

Kagome ran her hand over her belly. "It doesn't matter,"

"Maybe it does,"

"He is responsible," Kagome added,

"Indeed," Kikyo agreed.

He wasn't doing this because he wanted to, because he cared. It could be worse, she guessed, in so many ways. Kagome closed her eyes. The further north they went, the better she felt. The cool air was nice; she could breathe easier, and her color came back some. Even Kikyo found it better. Tula hated it. They stopped only once for a break and snack and made it to the north castle by nightfall.

Tula was shivering. Kikyo and Kagome were fine.

Tula's mate helped her down, Inuyasha helped KIkyo down, and then Sesshomaru came forward, waiting.

Kagome sighed, and when he lifted his hands, she moved, and he grabbed her by the waist and gently pulled her down.

The castle was dark looking, could surround the top of it, and the cold air bit.

"My mother has already seen everything; it is ready." He told them.

Great, his mother was here. Kagome began to wonder if the other woman was, too. She hated that it bothered her because it meant she cared, and she was trying not to.

They went inside. It was warmer, not but warm. Kagome worried about Tula, but with a good warm fire and better clothes, she was fine.

"Oi, you staying or what?" Inuyasha asked.

"I do not answer to you,"

"Are you?" Kagome asked,

He looked at her. "My brother's power will only sustain you so long,"

She lifted the necklace. "I have this,"

"You will need that a birth, Miko,"

She left the necklace fall and looked away.

"Yeah, you have done enough," Inuyasha snapped, "How are you gonna help her now?"

Sesshomaru smirked. "She may use me any way she likes,"

"Screw you, Sesshomaru, "Kagome snapped,

"If you wish,"

She was so sick of his cocky attitude, and did he think she was going to blush with embarrassment because she wasn't. In fact, she said fuck it, or him, or whatever. If he thought she was going to sky away and let him win over her, he was wrong. He put this baby inside her and if took using him like he had heard to sustain her power then so be it.

She walked up to him and he thought she was going to hit him but instead, she grabbed his shirt and dragged him out. He was shocked, but let her, followed her.

Inuyasha sputtered,

"Calm down Inuyasaha she is just using his own words against him,"

"But ain't he winning?"

"This is not a game Inuyasha," Kikyo sat with her cup of tea "But no, she is simply using him, in the end, he will be the one to hurt,"

He didn't look convinced,

"You do not have confidence?" She asked him,

"I know Kagome,"

"You knew Kagome, she is no longer a teenager roaming the lands, she is a woman, a mother wanting to protect her baby, and nothing is more important to her now than that because that is all she has,"

"Are you sure because it looks like she has him,"

"She doesn't know it yet, and neither does he," She sipped her tea without spilling it.
