"Alright, that should do it," Atsuhiro announced as he finished healing Izuku and cleaning him up.
Izuku was amazed as all his injuries (even earlier ones) disappeared from his body. He felt a little tired, but otherwise good as new.
"Quick but important question," Atsuhiro announced suddenly. "Does your apartment have tea & coffee?" Izuku nodded. "And sugar?" Izuku nodded again. "And biscuits?" Izuku waved his head. "WHAT! How can you not have biscuits with your caffeine?" He sounded completely outraged at the notion.
Izuku shrugged. "I don't even have sweets." Atsuhiro stared at him in absolute horror. "Look it's been a difficult couple of years for me. I kind of went off them."
The magician stared at him for a couple more seconds before sighing and pinching his nose.
"Well, this will be the first thing I teach you when we get back," Izuku wanted to remind him that he hadn't agreed to be his student, but he also wanted to get home, so he kept his mouth shut. "First things first I'd better clean up this mess. I'll just be two seconds."
Atsuhiro brought his staff down and tapped the ground twice. In an instant, the very area they had been fighting in began to repair itself as it slowly reverted to its original form. Buildings were restructured, broken glass returned to its source and healed, burn marks vanished, out-of-place objects returned to their original location, and the road was mended. When he was finished the city looked as it had when they first arrived as though they had never fought at all.
Izuku stared at the scene in awe. 'Could I do something like that?'
"Ready to go?" Atsuhiro asked to which Izuku nodded. The magician smirked. "Perfect."
Holding up his right hand, a blue light shone and consumed them both.
Seconds later they were hovering back in Izuku's apartment. Before setting them down, Atsuhiro removed his boots and sent them to the front as well as cleaned Izuku's feet to keep outside dirt out.
Taking off his coat, he levitated it and his staff before picking up a blue marble (the one Izuku had seen before) and smiled.
"Now then we have much to discuss, but first let's ourselves some tea & coffee, shall we?" he suggested. "No better way to have a conversation than over those."
"Um, sure. Right this way please," Izuku said softly as he led the man to the kitchen.
They prepared their respective beverages in silence with Izuku brewing the coffee while Atsuhiro made the tea. Finally, they sat down at the table with a tray, teapots, and cups. Atsuhiro magicked up several types of biscuits ranging from chocolate chip cookies, yoku moku cigare, Oreos, and even some Izuku didn't recognize.
"Impressive," Izuku complimented.
"Thank you," Atsuhiro accepted as he readied tea and a rich tea biscuit. "Know it's not alcohol but Kanpai!"
"Kanpai!" Izuku returned as they both downed their caffeine.
Behind Izuku the Sceptre was positioned against the wall. It had been quiet since they got back, though Izuku could hardly blame her. He himself still wasn't sure what to make of the situation.
Atsuhiro Sako was definitely a weird one (though who was he to judge). He was powerful, skilled, dangerous, and very theatrical. Most of all, he was an anomaly. He came out of nowhere and proceeded to beat the crap out of him in a truly epic fashion and then says he wants to be his teacher and was now sitting at his table drinking tea and eating biscuits. Granted, he had only known about magic for a day, but it all seemed a bit much for him.
"This is probably quite confusing for you," Atsuhiro admitted. "Me just appearing and… the rest."
Izuku stared at his cup. "It is. Everything in the last twenty-four hours has been." He briefly hesitated. "Also, I want to make it clear that I have not agreed to be your student. My current teachers are far from being Saints, but at least they didn't try to kill me."
"Neither did I," Izuku shot him a look of pure disbelief. "Okay, look kid, when I fought you in there, I rigged the place so that you wouldn't die no matter what I threw at you." This only served to confuse Izuku. "My quirk allows me to compress objects and people into those blue marbles. However, by utilizing my magic I can craft very specific areas that can be moulded and fixed as I please, which believe me is a process a lot harder and complex than you can imagine. I can set conditions on these marbles, such as no dying." Izuku's eyes widened. "I won't deny I allowed roughing you up, but the spells I cast would have prevented you from dying. No matter what I threw at you it wouldn't have killed you and it still would have been possible to heal you. Hell, I could have decapitated you and you still wouldn't have died. Outside the marble, not so much."
Izuku stared at him horrified. He much preferred his head where it was, even if it could be reattached. Atsuhiro at least had the decency to look ashamed.
"There was probably a better way to phrase that," he said as poured more tea.
"Maybe leave out the "decapitation" part next time," Izuku suggested. "That would probably help."
"Probably," Atsuhiro agreed. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind." He took another sip of tea. "I do apologise for roughing you, but I wanted to test you and see what you were capable of. While I acknowledge I could have done it a better way, I didn't think you'd trust me if I approached you personally."
Izuku raised an eyebrow.
"Seriously! That's your excuse!" Izuku exclaimed in disbelief. "I trusted a glowing magical stick who hypnotised me into coming to it alone in the forest. I'm pretty sure I would have at least heard you out."
Atsuhiro's expression suddenly turned grave. "You did what?" Izuku was taken aback by the edge in his voice. "Do… you… have… any… idea… how… utterly… stupid… that… was?" The temperature in the room began to plummet while the lights began to flick on and off. "You idiot! You could have been!"
Izuku felt like he was trapped alone in a room with Bakugo, quirkless and powerless. In response, the Sceptre glowed bright green.
ENOUGH YOU FOOL! CAN'T YOU SEE YOU'RE SCARING HIM!
That was enough to snap Atsuhiro out of his rage. Glancing around the room he saw nothing had been damaged. He then looked towards Izuku and noticed he was trembling with an expression of fear plastered across his face.
"I'm sorry," he apologised instantly. "I forgot you were new to all this, but Midoriya… you must understand… what you did was incredibly dangerous and stupid." Izuku looked confused. "You shouldn't just trust an object like that off the bat. Regardless of how appealing it might sound, it could just as easily be leading you to your death or worse, it could possess you. One second you might be brushing your teeth while the next one you're covered in blood after unknowingly murdering someone."
Izuku's eyes widened. He hadn't thought about that. He glanced back at the Sceptre. It had possessed him once, and it had cast spells of its own volition. Would it do so again?
"You don't need to worry about that from this one," Atsuhiro assured him having calmed down. "Despite its reputation, Maleficent's Sceptre is the least likely to do that to you. Other objects, or voices, few as they are, not so much."
Izuku blinked. "Maleficent's Sceptre? Do you mean that Sceptre?"
This time Atsuhiro blinked. "Seriously? You didn't even know that?"
Izuku crossed his arms looking irritated. "She's been here one day! Literally one! Most of which I was asleep for! The other half I was training and getting the shit kicked out of by you! So, excuse me if I don't have all the answers!"
"The other answers can be excused, but her name, that's a simple "who are you?" Midoriya," he chastised. "Granted, she herself might not have known it." He turned towards the Sceptre. "Did you?"
Of course, I remember my name. The rest not so much. Just bits and pieces. Different people who wielded me, though even those memories are faint.
There was a brief silence as Atsuhiro carefully formulated his next response. However, Izuku (lacking such concerns) spoke first.
"Wait, is that your name then? Maleficent?" he asked softly. The name sounded foreign to him, or rather, it sounded like something from a fantasy novel.
Yes. I've forgotten many things, but my name is the one thing I've always managed to hold onto. I apologise for not telling you sooner as everything has been happening much faster than I would have anticipated.
For a moment, no response was given.
Then Izuku smiled. "Maleficent huh? That's a pretty name. Very… European."
Izuku didn't know if her name originated from Europe or not, but it definitely wasn't Japanese. The Sceptre, or Maleficent, was flattered by the comment though she could not show it.
"It's a Fae name," Atsuhiro explained. "Though whether or not it's European is up for debate even if the woman herself was born there."
"Fae?" Izuku repeated.
"As in fairy," Atsuhiro took another sip of tea.
Izuku blinked as his brain processed the information.
"EEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" he shouted without thinking. "WAIT! WHAT?!"
"I said as in fairy. Maleficent was a dark fae, one of the most powerful to ever live," Atsuhiro said nonchalantly. "Also, please be careful when and with what you exclaim. You never know who or what might be listening. Though it wouldn't really matter this time since I put up a sound barrier around your apartment."
Izuku didn't even care to ask when he did that. He was curious about one thing, and one thing alone.
"I'm sorry but, what do mean fairy?!" he demanded. "Do you mean like in the West with wings and small bodies?"
Atsuhiro chuckled. "Wings yes. Small bodies would actually be pixies. Though I can understand the misconception."
Izuku stared at him in disbelief. "So, you're saying fairies are real?"
"Quite real," Atsuhiro assured him. "You wouldn't see them very often, if at all. They went into hiding a long time ago along with many other magical species. To my knowledge, they still exist though they are out of reach."
Izuku was now curious about the other species. If fairies were real, did that mean mermaids were real? What about Yokai? Or Oni? Or Elves or even Dragons? Izuku had seen a vision of a dragon, so it had to be possible.
"Yes, they are real," Atsuhiro confirmed as he took another sip of tea. "Merfolk exist in different parts of the sea where they actively avoid humans. The others reside in different realms to avoid association and persecution. Dragons… aren't very common. To be honest, I'm not sure they're still around." He stared at Izuku with an amused expression. "By the way, we'll have to work on that muttering of yours. As entertaining as it is to watch, it would be troublesome if you let out information in front of the wrong sort of person."
Izuku blushed in embarrassment. That was one habit he'd never managed to curb no matter what he tried (and one that tended to bring him a lot of trouble).
"So, all that stuff from myths and fairytales are real?" Izuku asked.
While he knew magic being real should have been proof enough, he had seen definite proof it was real. What Atsuhiro was describing though, not so much.
"They are, or at least, were," he softly corrected. "It's been a long time since I encountered anything like that. It's been a long time since I encountered anyone magical in general. Most of us went underground or into other realms to escape humanity. Even those who remained avoided getting together."
"Why on earth would they do that?" Izuku asked without thinking.
"To avoid persecution and extermination," Atsuhiro answered bluntly. "The usual. Granted it's been quite some time since those people were around, their last appearance being during the beginning of quirks, but scars run deep and fear remains strong. Humans have never liked what they don't understand. That turns into fear which turns into irrational hate which later turns into mass murder and genocide, all because it's different from them. Of course, that happens even on non-supernatural matters."
Izuku felt a bit unnerved by what he was describing. He knew from history that those types of events had occurred. Discrimination was an age-long issue that spanned several millennia, even over the pettiest reason. When quirks first appeared, things were no different. Quirkless humans discriminated against quirked individuals, though slowly over time the roles had reversed.
However, what was most disturbing was Atsuhiro's tone. The way he said and described it was like he was speaking from experience. Izuku couldn't say for sure, but either he heard the stories from someone else, or he was a lot older than he looked. If magic existed long before quirks maybe it could halt a person aging. Or perhaps those with magic aged at a much slower rate than those without.
"Believe it or not, some of those people believed magic was the reason quirks first appeared," Atsuhiro revealed.
"Eh!" Izuku's eyes widened. "And did it?"
"No idea," he said with a smile. "I don't know if magic was involved in the creation of quirks or if it was some science experiment gone wrong. But it makes for good theoretical discussion, especially online."
Izuku was finding it very hard to take him seriously at this point.
"Maleficent, which one would it be?" Izuku asked. "Or were you active during that time?"
I am afraid I do not have the answers. I think I did have a wielder during that time, after all, it's how I know quirks do exist, but it would have been well over a century ago.
"I see. Well, that's too bad," Izuku lamented.
I am sorry.
"Oh, no, no, it's not your fault," Izuku stated firmly. "If you can't remember you can't remember. You'll just have to wait until it comes back to you."
"About that," Atsuhiro interrupted. "If I may, with your permission, I'd like to drop a few names on you."
Drop a few names on me. I don't know what that means.
"It means he wants to bring up the names of people and places you might have known before I met you," Izuku explained.
Ah, I see. I am not sure this will work, but by all means, go ahead and drop them. No guarantees it actually works.
"Fair enough," Atsuhiro remarked as he stood up and approached the Sceptre. "Okay, let's start. Does The Moors sound familiar to you?"
I don't… it… I'm not sure. Maleficent was struggling to answer as light dimly glowed from the Sceptre's eye. It's not familiar, but it doesn't feel like it's unfamiliar either. Does that make sense?
"To me, yes," Atsuhiro confirmed. "Though it would have been a long time since you were there last, it would bear so much significance to you that it would be impossible to forget it completely."
"What are The Moors?" Izuku confused.
"I'll get to that later," Atsuhiro assured him. "First, more questions. Does the name Diaval mean anything to you?"
No.
Atsuhiro's eyes narrowed, but he refused to give up.
"Balthazar?"
No.
"Knotgrass, Flittle, and Thistlewit?"
No, no, and no.
"Okay then, Prince Philip of Ulstead?"
No.
Izuku was starting to get confused by the names. Philip and Balthazar were definitely normal names (normal sounding anyway), but the other four, not so much. Perhaps they were fairies themselves.
"Guess I shouldn't be surprised with that one," Atsuhiro admitted. "What about… Aurora?"
No.
"Wow. Seriously!" he said sombrely. "I expected that one to ring a bell, especially since Diaval didn't."
I'm sorry I don't recognize them… at least.
"At least?" the Magician repeated.
What I mean is I don't recognize them in the typical fashion. But… when I hear the names I… feel something. I can't if it's joy or sorrow or something in between. I don't remember the names, but if I feel something towards them then I must know them, right?
"That you do, or did, once upon a dream," he said softly.
"Dream?" Izuku echoed. "Don't you mean time?"
"Sure, go with what they do in the stories," Atsuhiro replied nonchalantly. However, his expression darkened. "Now for the final one. Does the name Stefan mean anything to you?"
For approximately a minute, there was silence. Then the lights and TV began to flicker on and off as the Sceptre glowed brilliant bright green.
YES! That name! I remember it! I… hate it… so much! I… hate its owner… with all my soul! I can't remember why… but I do! I want to hurt him! I want to make him suffer alone and in agony! I want him to lose everything he holds dear! And I can't remember why!
"Maleficent," Izuku whispered urgently. "Please calm down. Look what you're doing. It might be happening to the other apartments and if they call the police or someone else, we'll be discovered and…"
"Indeed," Atsuhiro said cooly. "Believe me I understand your rage, your hate. It is justified. However, that man is no longer of this world. He paid the ultimate price for his crimes a long time ago."
Their words seemed to reach her as she finally calmed down and everything returned to normal. The light she emitted also dimmed.
I'm sorry! I don't know what came over me.
"Completely understandable," Atsuhiro assured her. "While I'm surprised the other ones did not provoke anything, I see remains a sore subject for you."
Izuku, however, had had enough.
"Okay, what the hell is going on?" he demanded. "What was all that about? Who are those people you just mentioned? And…"
"They were former associates of Maleficent here. Diaval was her friend, the other four were fairies, and Aurora was a human she knew," Atsuhiro decided to leave out the part where she was cursed by Maleficent. Better let than one come back on her own. "And the Moors was where she grew up and protected along with the other fair folk. Before you get any ideas, I don't know where it is. That place was sealed off to humans a long time ago. It would be the perfect place to restore her memory."
Izuku felt odd about that description. The other night he'd had a dream and the things he saw, they were just a coincidence, weren't they?
"What about this Stefan character?" the lights flickered again.
"A monster!" Atsuhiro seethed. "A vile, evil, treasonous, unrepentant, genocidal, tyrannical monster! Let's just leave it at that, shall we?"
Izuku was taken by the level of hatred both of them had for this man. Whatever he had done, it must have been very serious for them to react this way.
"Maybe we should make more… stuff before we continue this conversation," Izuku meekly suggested.
Ten minutes later
And so, after making more caffeine with biscuits everyone seemed to have calmed down.
"Back to the topic of me being your student, what exactly would you teach me?" Izuku pondered.
"Channelling and directing your magic, casting spells, making potions, magical history and species, types of magic, risks associated with casting magic, meditation techniques, and a couple of martial arts lessons," Atsuhiro listed off. "Albeit simplified versions. We'll save the more complex topics for later since it's always best to cover the basics first."
As intrigued as he was with those topics, there were two he found confusing.
"Meditation techniques and martial arts?" he repeated. "Why would I need those?"
"The former is good for clearing your head, controlling your emotions, building willpower, and in general good for the soul. It can help with studies and mastering one's magic," the magician listed off. "The latter because you will not always be in a position to use magic so having a secondary means of protecting yourself becomes necessary."
Izuku didn't say anything. Hearing him describe it like that did make it sound necessary. His father had once offered to send him to classes but Izuku turned him down, not wanting to waste time the second he was rejected by the owner, let alone be bullied by the students for his quirklessness.
"What kind of spells? Elemental? Healing? Because I can already," Izuku continued.
"Oh, I know. I was watching you earlier, on the beach I mean," Izuku felt a little creeped out at that revelation. "But to answer your question, yes. That will be part of the curriculum. Alongside transformation, teleportation, concealment, telepathy, and perhaps one day curses."
Izuku was definitely intrigued by what he was hearing. If he could learn to do all of that, then he would get his revenge in no time. After ten years' worth of bullying for lacking a quirk, gaining a variety of new powers would be a surefire way to make up for it. It was about time the universe cut him a break.
"What about learning how to use magic without using the sceptre?" he asked.
Atsuhiro raised an eyebrow. "Sure, I can teach you that, but I don't recommend it. Casting magic puts a strain on our bodies. Overusing it can cause us to collapse or in some cases die. By channelling our magic through objects like my staff or a wand we can lessen this strain and increase both the power and efficiency. Still, I'll teach for when you don't have the Sceptre."
Izuku could understand this concept well enough. Certain pro heroes used support items to aid and lessen the more harmful effects of their quirks. This was no different.
"Okay, two more questions, both serious," Izuku stated.
Atsuhiro shrugged. "Hit me."
Why would you ask him to hit you? How does that help with anything?
"He means go ahead and ask," Izuku clarified much to Maleficent's relief and Atsuhiro's amusement. "Earlier you mentioned me not covering my tracks after last night; it's how you found me." Izuku paused. "Is someone else going to come looking for me because of those tracks?"
The wizards' eyes narrowed, albeit impressed. 'So, he noticed. Good. It shows he's not stupid. A few beginner mistakes but he is a beginner.'
"I made sure to cover up all traces of your little spectacle so you don't need to worry about any unwanted guests," he said.
"Good, then I'll move on to the more important question," Izuku decided. "I don't know much about you, but I figure you won't just open up about your life out of the blue so I'll settle for something much simpler. Why do you want me as a student? Why me? I'm quirkless. I'm sure you could easily take the sceptre from me and give it to someone stronger. So why?"
If she had eyebrows, Maleficent would raise them. Izuku had asked her the exact same thing last night. Was lacking that power that severe a taboo in the modern world? She knew Izuku had been ostracised and discriminated against for lacking one, so she understood his pain. But for it to be this bad.
Atsuhiro was more understanding. He'd been around when quirks first appeared, so he knew how bad prejudice had gotten. It was an ironic role reversal not just of quirked individuals, but humans in general. Of course, heteromorphs also suffered for their appearance, but that wasn't much of a shock. Racism was a problem that existed long before quirks arrived, and it would be one long after.
"I couldn't care less if you had a quirk or not since it's not going to matter much in the grand scheme of things. I want you as a student, as my apprentice, because you are the first person I have met in a long time to have magic," Atsuhiro admitted. "You have potential, patience, and willingness to learn I have seen in only a handful of individuals. You have managed to do more in a few hours than most would do in days. That's why I want you, not for a quirk, but for the qualities you possess."
"A lot of people don't think that way," Izuku lamented.
"No, they don't," he agreed. "But a lot of people aren't me. If being quirkless bothers you so much, then you should be aware that most of the sorcerers before me were also quirkless." Izuku looked up at him. "What? Don't look so surprised. Magic existed long before quirks did. It's only natural that those with it would be quirkless."
"I-I suppose," Izuku muttered under his breath.
"If anything, you being quirkless is even better," Atsuhiro admitted. "People in this day and age have become… how we shall say… constrained, yes let's go with that, they've become constrained by quirks. Humanity was advancing very smoothly in terms of science and technology until quirks showed up. Then everything ranging from law to support became focused around them causing them to regress. Nowadays, many individuals tend to focus only on improving their quirks and how to counter others leaving very little room for thinking outside the box. Since you lack one, you're less likely to struggle with this as you demonstrated earlier today."
Izuku wasn't sure how to feel about this. His quirklessness was something he was mocked for his entire life by his peers and teachers. There were some adults who were neutral or at least tried to be supportive, his parents included, but ultimately never said anything positive about it. Two people whom he had only recently met saying it was good (one even preferring it) didn't sit well with him.
"Um, okay, I guess," Izuku said very slowly, something which did not go unnoticed.
They didn't voice it then and there, but both Maleficent and Atsuhiro realized that this was going to be a major issue. Years of abuse just didn't go away overnight. Izuku's self-worth had been hammered away at for far too long for it to be fixed so soon. However, that didn't mean it couldn't be fixed at all. It would take time and needed to be done carefully, but bit by bit, piece-by-piece it could be restored.
"If I agree to be your student, there's one or two issues we need to deal with," Izuku said quietly.
"Oh, and what are they?" Atsuhiro asked sounding intrigued.
"I'm still in school," Izuku pointed out. "Skipping today was one thing, but if I were to stop attending altogether would cause people to notice." Quirkless or not, he couldn't just disappear without a valid reason. "I could drop out, but my dad would be furious if I did. Transferring schools isn't out of the question, but it depends on where it is and if they'll accept someone like me. Then there's high school. My dad would know if I wasn't attending one."
The magician stroked his chin with a thoughtful hum. "If those are the only issues then I wouldn't worry. I'll speak with this principal and teacher of yours and ask them to let you finish off your middle school life from home."
Izuku raised an eyebrow. "Um, I don't think it'll be that simple."
Atsuhiro waved his head. "Oh, it will. You'll find I can be very persuasive when I want to be. Don't worry. I won't do anything too serious to them. Just make it so they mark you as present for the rest of the year, pass you on homework to complete, and the right materials to study for exams. As long as you do the work, pass exams, and graduate in one piece then there should be no problems. As for high school, well, online school is an option is it not? I'm sure your father wouldn't mind as long as you graduate from somewhere."
The more he talked about it the more Izuku thought it was possible. If he could graduate from school without actually attending it then he could avoid Bakugo and his cronies. As for his father, Atsuhiro was not too far off about him. As long as Izuku was attending some sort of school, then he didn't care.
"Could I please discuss this with Maleficent in private?" Izuku requested.
"By all means," Atsuhiro replied as he manifested an MP3 Player with headphones. "I'll just listen to this on the couch."
As he headed towards the couch, Izuku grabbed the Sceptre and went into his room. He made sure to close the door so that they wouldn't be heard.
"What do you think?" Izuku asked. "Should I do it?"
It's your decision really. I do think it would be beneficial for you to learn from another magic user. He's likely to have access to knowledge that you wouldn't normally find, and he's quite competent in his field. Additionally, sticking with another magic user might be better than tackling everything by yourself.
"I don't trust him," he admitted.
Nor do I. While I didn't sense any malicious intent or dishonesty, I could tell he was hiding something. Even so, it would be a good idea to take advantage of his experience. It may even help you get closer to your goal.
Izuku pondered over the idea for a couple of minutes, weighing both the positives and negatives, before reaching a conclusion.
"I'll do it!" Izuku informed Atsuhiro who was lounging around on the couch. "I'll be your student."
Atsuhiro beamed and leapt to his feet. The sheer excitement on his face matched that of a child. "Perfect! I look forward to teaching you!"
"And I look forward to learning from you," Izuku replied somewhat flabbergasted by his enthusiasm. "When do we start, Sensei?"
Hearing that made the magician even happier, not that Izuku minded… much.
"We'll start tomorrow say around, after lunch," Atsuhiro offered never once losing his grin. "Right after I've gotten taken care of your school. Sound good you?" Izuku nodded. "Perfect! Well, I'll be heading off then. Won't overstay my welcome. Oh, and you don't need to contact me, I'll come to you. But first."
Waving his hands, the cups and table were cleaned while the food and caffeine were put away. Izuku watched with curiosity. He wanted to be able to do that.
Following this, Atsuhiro departed leaving Izuku alone to reflect on the events of the day. Within a short span of time, a lot had happened to him. While there was much to discuss between them there was much to learn as well.
Izuku was surprised the man never once questioned his own motives for learning magic. Maybe he wanted to gain Izuku's trust first, or maybe he didn't care. Either way, he would learn all he could from him.
And when he did, well, that's when his revenge could truly begin.
With Atsuhiro
Atsuhiro searched through his father's home for various books. Nothing major, just tomes that would cover the basics of what he was about to teach Izuku.
Over the course of their meeting, he had not once lied to the boy about anything. Of course, that wasn't to say he wasn't keeping secrets. That was allowed, wasn't it? Trust worked both ways, didn't it?
Whatever the case, he needed to prepare. Considering the Sceptre called out to Izuku a fair distance away, connecting his current self-worth issues, he had a good idea of what his goal was.
Not that it really mattered. He had a student now. He wouldn't be the only sorcerer. At least, for now.
Because how long would this one last? How long would he last?
Unknown parts
The shadow ripped the targets in half before retreating into their true form, all while the researchers took notes. The subject had been unusually agitated today. They wondered if it was something to do with the recent light show, though they had nothing to prove it.
Concluding they were finished for the day, they had the guards shock the subject into unconsciousness.
Locked away in its dark cage, the subject stood up weakly. Despite its wounds, it would not be discouraged.
The energy from last night, it had felt it. It knew what it what it was and what it came from. Now all it had to do was call out and wait. No matter what it took, no matter how long it took, they would come for them. They would free them. And most of all, they would help them get their revenge. All it needed to do was call them.
Within its cage, the raven cawed.
Beckoning the new master of the Queen's Sceptre.
Hi there! Well, what did you think of that?
This chapter was mostly discussion, next is Izuku learning magic. Even though he does not trust him, Atsuhiro (Mr Compress) is officially Izuku's magic teacher.
It's been a while since I updated because I've been preoccupied with my new job. I am trying to write chapters though, for all my stories.
I hope you enjoyed reading this! Please review!
