Brian POV

I'm awakened with a jolt as the hammock I'm lying in swings against the wall to my left. My vision is blurry but I can tell I'm inside a wooden cart, I can hear the wooden wheels rolling against the ground and feel the cart jolt with the occasional bump. I try sitting up but I can feel the pain in my right shoulder again; grunting in pain I lay down and turn my head to see my shoulder is bandaged up and has stopped bleeding. As my eyes adjust to the dark I look around the interior of the cart I can see it's nearly full with various boxes, crates, and my bike. It's leaning to the right against a dresser with various colors of bungee cord holding it in place, the left side saddle bag is still open with my shotgun sticking out. Draped over the seat of my bike I can see my leather jacket with a large bite mark on the right shoulder, I shudder as I remember the fight I'd had with the wolves.

The sound of the wooden wheels on the ground gets louder and shakes the cart more, it sounds like we're on a stone path now. We slow down and I can hear various voices from outside the cart; are we going through a town? We finally come to a stop and I can hear more voices from outside, the doors behind me open letting light in and nearly blinding me. I can hear trotting from behind, I turn my head to see a mulberry-colored unicorn with a worried expression looking down at me.

"My name is Princess Twilight Sparkle, are you okay?" she asks

Confused I say, "I'm not sure, my shoulder hurts and I feel weak,"

Twilight nods before I can feel myself being lifted off the hammock, I look down to see myself being lifted by a purple aura, I look up and see that Twilight's horn has the same colored aura around it. She's levitating me, what the hell is going on? I look around to see a crowd of ponies has formed around the cart, most of whom have shocked and worried expressions. I look to my right and see that we're in front of a hospital. I'm lowered onto a stretcher outside the cart and a couple of doctor-looking ponies bring me into the hospital. As we move through the halls of the hospital my vision starts to blur and I can feel myself getting weaker again. My head rests to the right and I can see that I'm bleeding through my bandages. I can hear the doctors talking to each other in worry but can't make out the words they're saying, my vision goes black and I pass out again.

Starlight POV

As the hospital doors close I look down at my blood-soaked hooves before wincing at the thought of that poor creature's wounds, I trot into the hospital waiting room and take a seat while trying to take control of my racing thoughts. I look up and notice Twilight and Fluttershy entering the room while Rainbow Dash is trying to keep the door shut from the small crowd that is trying to enter the hospital as well.

"Uggh! A little help here!" Rainbow Dash says struggling to hold the door shut. Twilight nods before putting a spell on the door, the door is now covered in a light purple magical barrier, keeping it closed.

"Thanks," Rainbow Dash says with a sigh of relief before resting on one of the chairs, I look at Twilight who is looking at me with a hint of concern.

"What happened out there Starlight?" Twilight asks.

"Trixie and I were camping out near the Everfree forest last night near Dodge City, we weren't going to head back to town until this afternoon but we heard some loud bangs like cannons in the distance. We packed up camp quickly and went to investigate the sounds when we came across that, creature. He had been attacked by timberwolves,"

Twilight, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash gasp in shock, "T-Timberwolves?" Fluttershy stutters.

"I need to let the doctors know to give him an antidote for the Timberwolf poison," Twilight says before trotting quickly down the hall into the hospital.

"Were you or Trixie hurt by any of them?" Rainbow Dash asks.

I shake my head, "N-no, he'd killed both of them with this, small canon thing he had with him," Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash gasp at this, "Trixie and I tried to patch him up the best we could but he'd already lost so much blood when we found him." I sigh and glance at the floor, "I just hope he's ok,"

Fluttershy rubs my back with a hoof before saying, "The doctors are gonna do their best, I'm sure he'll pull through,"

Rainbow Dash nods, "He seems like a strong creature, I'm sure he'll be ok,"

I smile and look at Fluttershy, "Thanks you two, I appreciate the support,"

Twilight trots back into the waiting room with that same concerned look, "He's in really bad shape, they gave him the antidote for the timberwolf poison and were able to get the bleeding to stop, but he's lost a lot of blood, and might need a blood donor. I've already given the doctors a sample of my blood to see if I'm a match, did you three want to give a sample as well?"

We look at each other before I ask, "Would our blood even be a match for whatever he is?"

"We aren't sure yet," Twilight says trotting closer, "But more than one sample couldn't hurt to find out,"

I look to Fluttershy and Rainbow, "I'm in if you two are,"

"I'm in," Rainbow says.

"Me too," Fluttershy adds.

Twilight smiles before leading us down the hall, I nervously follow my friends around the corner and down the hall, anxiety and nervousness washing over me. As we trot down the hall nurse Redheart approaches me and asks, "As you ok Starlight? Your forehooves are covered in blood,"

I nod, "I'm ok nurse, there was a lot of blood from that creature's injuries, we t-tried to stop the bleeding but,"

Redheart stops me before saying, "It's ok, you did what you could, I understand seeing that amount of blood can be startling. Why don't we get you cleaned up, follow me,"

I look to my friends who stopped, Twilight says, "It's ok Starlight, you've helped plenty, I'll come find you when we're done, ok?"

"T-Thank you Twilight," I say before following Redheart into a side room. The room has a large walk-in shower and a variety of soaps and conditioners.

"Towels are in this cabinet, and the hamper is right next to the sink, take all of the time you need," Nurse Redheart says before looking at me.

"W-why are you doing this for me?" I stutter, Redheart puts on a warm smile before saying, "Most ponies outside of the healthcare world never see more than a few drops of blood, you look like you're in shock, and regardless of our past I'm still here to help you."

I look to the floor in embarrassment, kicking at the floor with my front hoof awkwardly, "I'm sorry we didn't work out Red, it's just Twilight has me so busy with all of these friendship lessons, and now she's talking about opening a school, I've been so overwhelmed,"

Redheat puts a hoof on my shoulder before saying, "It's ok, you just have a lot going on, I miss what we had but it's for the better. Just remember you still have a friend here regardless,"

I smile before hugging her, "I'm happy you understand, thank you so much,"

She hugs back giving me a small nuzzle, "I've gotta get back to it, take the time you need,"

I nod as she leaves the room, I turn to get into the shower and catch a glance of myself in the mirror, a small blush on my face. I shake my head and get into the shower, turning the water cold and putting my face in the stream. I sigh and sit on the shower floor before closing the sliding door, I levitate one of the soaps over and begin to wash myself.

Brian POV

My vision is blurred and I feel dizzy, I've been experiencing time dilation for who knows how long, the voices of doctors both male and female come and go as I slip in and out of consciousness. I slowly regain my vision and my head doesn't feel as heavy. The room is empty and it appears to be nighttime, I glance down at my right shoulder to see it bandaged up and looking clean. I sigh in relief and set my head back on the pillow, looking around the room this appears to be your typical hospital room, just a bit more rustic with the mostly wooden furniture.

The door creaks open slowly and a white pony with a nurse hat on enters the room and approaches my bed, she pulls a clipboard stored at the end of my bed out. She holds the clipboard in one hoof and flips the pages with her mouth. I can see her eyes running across the words before she looks up at me, her eyes widen slightly and she gasps a tad.

"Y-Your awake, how do you feel?" She asks before rushing to my side.

I try to sit up but feel the pain again in my right shoulder before setting myself back down, "Easy there, you probably shouldn't put any weight on that arm for at least a few days," She says rubbing my arm softly.

"Agreed, it only hurts when I use it though," She nods before writing on the clipboard.

"Good, that means we used the right amount of Timberwolf antidote," she says before putting the clipboard back in front of the bed.

"Timber-what?" I ask in confusion, she nods before saying, "The animals that attacked you, are called Timberwolves. When they bite you their fangs inject poison into whatever they bite, if Starlight and Trixie hadn't gotten you here fast enough you could have been dead,"

I nod as I look around the room more, confusion on my face, "You're not from around here, are you?"

I shake my head, "Not really, I was riding my motorcycle through this tunnel, and next thing I know I'm being attacked by those wolf things,"

"Look, I'm not sure how you got here, but I'm sure the princess will have answers for you tomorrow," the nurse says.

I sigh looking down at my hands, sadness crossing my face. The nurse puts a hoof on my shoulder before saying, "It's gonna be alright, we're here for you, I'm here for you. If you need anything just let me know, ok?"

I nod, trying not to show my sadness, she nods before saying, "Get some rest, you'll have plenty of visitors tomorrow,"

Before she can leave I ask, "What's your name ma'am?"

She looks back at me with a smile and says, "Redheart, Nurse Redheart,"

I smile back at her before she leaves, I lay my head back down and put my hands to my face, trying to contain my emotions. I hope I can get back home soon, these ponies are nice and all but I don't want my friends and family back home to worry about me. I close my eyes and eventually fall asleep.
