Hello dear readers! I hope you guys and girls are doing well.
All crazyness going on with me on work, my study ( I study Japanese for the curious ones who wants to know ) and Christmas is coming as well.
Anyway, I like to warn that this chapter contains violence. So please be cautious.
Enjoy!
"Hand me the bag of chips." Stinky asked Sid while they were all watching Daily Life.
They had watched some old episodes beforehand to get into the storyline. This way, many people could understand what was going on between Violet, Vincent and Samantha.
And guess what?
In their teenage years, Vincent and Violet were a set together and did absolutely everything together until Vincent was drafted.
After Vincent returns, he is changed by what he has experienced. The once positive boy he was was now a man haunted by his own fears.
Violet thought he shouldn't put himself in such a position and wanted Vincent to pick up their old rhythm again. Going to parties together and getting drunk was what Violet and Vincent always did together.
But Vincent couldn't do it, loud music was a disaster and too many people around him made him panic.
Vincent received help, but progress was slow.
After a few months, Violet dumped Vincent and started partying alone.
She couldn't wait for him any longer than she already had so she let him go.
To Vincent's great sadness and with this emotional blow, Vincent started drinking more and more. He made mistakes, lost contact with his friends and walked the streets intoxicated.
Until one night, Vincent had been drinking and was waddling across the bridge. He looked up and saw the river flowing by and without thinking he grabbed the railing.
At that moment, many things went through his mind, but especially the pain and sadness he had experienced.
That fear that followed behind like a black shadow even though there was light.
'' Wait a second...''
A soft but clear voice that pulled him out of his dark moment and standing off to the side was Samantha.
At that moment they were together and Vincent saw light in his life again. Much to Violet's chagrin and even jealousy.
She tried to win Vincent back but Vincent was clear, he loved Samantha.
Samantha was now pregnant, much to Vincent's delight. And now it came down to it...
After Violet's umpteenth attempt to convince Vincent...Vincent tells him that Samantha and he are expecting a child.
The class was completely immersed in the soap series. Harold even forgot he had popcorn in his hands.
The episode ended with Violet crying alone and looking at Vincent's back until her sad look turned into an angry swirl.
The class was impressed and told Helga that they couldn't wait until tomorrow and that Helga had to pass on the compliments to Olga.
Two weeks had already passed and Arnold didn't know how quickly the other two weeks would pass, but he really started to miss contact with his friends and Helga.
Arnie literally followed him everywhere except when Arnold was in his own room studying or at school. Then Arnold could spend some time with his friends and even talk to Helga, but that was it.
On a Friday evening, when Arnold is lying on the couch and listening to music, Stella comes in.
Seeing his mother's serious face, Arnold sits up and takes off his headphones.
''What's wrong mom? Is something wrong with grandpa?'' Arnold asked worriedly.
Stella sat down next to Arnold, this wasn't going to be fun.
''School just called. They found out that Arnie needs 2 more subjects to pass...'' Stella said carefully.
Arnold's face scrunched up.
"Does that mean Arnie is staying longer?" Arnold asked and Stella nodded yes.
Arnold sighed deeply.
'' For how long?''
''An extra two weeks...''
Arnold stood up and put on his vest.
"Arnold, where are you going so late?" Stella asked.
'' Stoop Kid's house. Arnie doesn't get along with him. I was always allowed to visit him.'' Arnold said and Stella had an idea.
She grabbed his backpack and handed it to Arnold. Arnold looked after it.
"Call him and ask if you can sleep with him for a weekend so you can breathe." Stella asks and Arnold's eyes lit up.
''You are the smartest mother on earth!''
An hour later, Arnold was sitting on the couch with Matthew aka Stoop Kid and his wife Linda.
Linda turned out to be an attentive woman and Arnold was soon provided with a mug of hot chocolate and cookies.
Arnold talked about his cousin and Stoop Kid made a face.
''That cousin of yours is such a weird guy. When I went grocery shopping 3 days ago, he was reading the label of potted herring out loud. And when he was done he walked to the sardines.'' said Matthew.
''Maybe he's trying to get attention.'' Linda said and Arnold thought.
''Arnie has been like this for as long as I've known him. My mother suspects he has autism.'' Arnold said.
''That wouldn't surprise me actually with the things he does. Especially the fact that he can completely focus on textiles and labels. Has he ever been tested for it?'' Matthew asked and Arnold shook his head.
''My aunt so Arnie's mother says it is not necessary because Arnie will go into textiles later. Arnie wants to start making textile fabrics himself.'' Arnold explained.
''Arnie should mainly do what he likes. Then everything will be fine.'' Linda said.
Arnold nodded and took a sip from his mug.
"By the way, I heard from Gerald that Helga is still being harassed by Hilton." Matthew said and was shocked to see Arnold's face change.
''I'm starting to lose my patience when it comes to Hilton. Helga is good at defending himself but he keeps going. There comes a time when I lose myself..." Arnold said in a dark voice.
Matthew and Linda looked at each other and thought.
"Does Helga's father know about Hilton?" Mathhew asked after a while and Arnold shook his head.
"Helga almost never tells her parents things like that," Arnold replied.
''What if you tell? I don't think Bob is happy about his daughter being stalked.'' Matthew said with a wicked grin and Arnold saw the point in that too.
"I'll drop by on Sunday evening." Arnold said with a look that Stoop kid knew well...
The weekend was nice for Arnold, he had time to catch his breath from Arnie.
And Wednesday was also a nice day since Arnie had extra classes, so Arnold only saw him during recess.
Only the news that he was staying longer was a bombshell, especially for Helga. She was angry, but not with Arnold but with Arnie and she showed that to him too.
"Why is Helga being angry with me?" Arnie asked Arnold during the break.
Arnold, who just took a bite of his burger, had to chew and swallow before he answered.
'' Don't know. Did you ask?'' Arnold asked innocently.
'' Yes. She said I ruined it for everyone. I don't understand that.'' says Arnie.
Arnold sighed. Not the most tactical answer from Helga.
''Arnie, don't take this the wrong way but... you're claiming me in that sense... I can't hang out with my friends like I usually do. Many don't understand you and your interests.'' Arnold said.
"Not my problem." Arnie said as he continued eating and Arnold facepalmed himself. So that had no effect whatsoever.
Suddenly there was a lot of noise in the cafeteria and Hilton and his group walked in and sat down.
Helga and the others who were eating quietly looked up and rolled their eyes or shook their heads.
''Look guys what I found! A poem... a love poem!'' Hilton said as he takes a piece of paper with text on it from his bag.
"Ooh, read it out loud," said one of the boys.
''Who still writes love poems? That's so old fashioned.'' Belle said.
"Quiet everyone... Hilton, read aloud." said Daryll, Hilton's best friend.
Hilton start to speak loudly:
''Walking through the sand...
In the middle of the night...
Hand in hand...
The moon was shining bright...
You and me, the attraction...
We look at each other,
Your eyes so full of passion,
Our bodies ready to uncover,
We laid down and held each other...
How close can we be together...
As we made pure and blissful love..
I had never known so much beauty...
When you lean into me...
The moment so intense and full of delight,
Under the warm starry night...
I love you...''
Phoebe looked at Helga, who looked at her plate in shock.
"Is it yours?" Phoebe whispered.
''No, it's for me. Arnold wrote that for me.'' Helga whispered in shock. What now? Had Arnold lost it when he switched his books?
'' Disgusting. Who does it in the sand?'' Belle asked with a face.
"Imagine whoever gets this poem... how they must feel: Did I really sleep with such a cheap figure?" Daryll said with a laugh and Hilton laughed along.
When Helga hears that she stands up but does not move.
When Phoebe wants to ask why, she hears Gerald: "This is going wrong..."
''Give back my poem.''
Hilton turns around and sees Arnold standing there with an angry expression.
''You wrote this? Seriously?'' Hilton asked and started laughing.
His friends laughed along.
"I want my poem back, now." Arnold asked calmly but with a heavy undertone.
''Wait a minute there, Shortman. Do I understand correctly? You're not a virgin anymore? The innocent self?'' Hilton teased.
"This is going wrong, this is going very wrong..." said Stinky.
"Shouldn't we intervene?" Sheena wondered.
"My poem, Hilton..." Arnold asked again.
Hilton returned the poem and Arnold put it in his pocket.
"Question Arnold, since you wrote such a sad poem... is your relationship cheap or is the girl cheap?" Hilton asked with a laugh.
Before some people realized what was happening, Hilton flew from his chair to the ground.
When Hilton gets up, he puts his fingers to his lips, touches his lips and looks at his fingers.
Blood...
Hilton looked at Arnold and shivers ran down his spine. Arnold was furious. Hilton got up and got up and walked over to Arnold and raised his leg to kick Arnold.
Arnold was able to block the kick but not the fist that came after it. Hilton's fist hit Arnold's nose and blood began to pour out.
Arnold pushed Hilton away from him and uppercut Hilton in the chin. As a result, Hilton's view flew towards the ceiling, leaving him with several openings on the body, Arnold had not forgotten his karate.
Arnold then punched Hilton in the stomach and Hilton flew to his knees due to the pain. Arnold turned away, he didn't want to fight anymore.
Until he hears Helga scream and feels a sharp pain in his calf.
Arnold turned around and saw that Hilton was still on his knees but that he had a small pocket knife in his hand and had taken a stab at his legs.
Before Arnold could respond, 2 security guards entered the canteen and intervened.
One security guard went to Hilton and handcuffed him and the other went to Arnold and took his handkerchief and put it on Arnold's nose.
"How is Lewis?" the security guard asked his colleague.
''He can stand and only has a bloody lip. And with Shortman?"
''He needs to go to the infirmary. Someone who can come with you?'' the security guard asked Arnold.
"I'll go with him." Helga said and some looked surprised.
''What? Gerald and Arnie have such a test, I don't.'' Helga said.
"That's true," said Lila. "Don't be hard on him, Helga."
"I'll try..." Helga said sarcastically to cover herself as she walked to Arnold and they left the cafeteria together.
The nurse had stopped the nosebleed and wrapped the calf with bandages.
She made a note saying that Arnold was being sent home and that Helga was coming with him for support.
Once in the Boarding House, everyone was mad at Hilton. But first Miles and Stella went to look at Arnold's calf.
"I'm afraid we're going to have to stitch it up, son," Miles said.
Arnold, who was lying on his stomach, sighed.
''Just do what is necessary.''
"With or without local anesthesia?" asked Stella.
'' Without.. ''
While Arnold's parents were working on his calf, the police came by and asked what had happened.
Meanwhile, Helga sat quietly on the back of the couch until the officers asked what her contribution was.
Helga told what she had seen and that Hilton was more or less constantly bothering her despite her saying no.
When the police left and Miles went downstairs to explain the situation, Stella asked what Arnold wanted.
"Rest, just rest and Helga..." Arnold said exhausted.
Helga stood and walked to Stella.
"I'll lock the door." Helga said.
"What should I say to Arnie?" Stella asked.
"That Arnold wants some rest?" Helga said with a small smile.
"But that you are with him and that you are also staying the night, I think?" Stella asked.
"Just keep that quiet for a while." Helga said and Stella nodded yes that she understood and closed the door behind her.
Helga locked the door and walked towards Arnold who had his eyes closed.
Helga lay down next to him and gently stroked his hair and Arnold opened his eyes and looked at her.
"Sorry..." Arnold said softly.
"What for?" asked Helga.
"That you had to worry.." Arnold said.
''You defended me and our relationship, I would have done the same. Only I don't understand 1 thing. How did Hilton come up with the poem?'' Helga asked.
''I suspect it slipped out of my locker when I was changing my books. That's the only thing I can think of.'' Arnold said.
"Hopefully Hilton will learn his lesson now and stop bothering me," Helga said.
"I hope so too." Arnold said as he caressed Helga's cheek.
"Arnold, I want to tell Arnie that you and I are together..." Helga said suddenly and Arnold looked at Helga with questions.
''He can keep secrets and then we can be together. Those 2 weeks were hell.'' Helga said, slightly angry.
Arnold smiled and placed his forehead against Helga's forehead.
'' Fine. I can't live without you either."
Helga placed her lips on Arnold's lips and they kissed until both fell asleep.
