The Key Wish

Chapter 6: The Weirdos

As the sun shines over the forest of Mount Paozu, time has seemingly stood still as nature was covering the land with its beauty with no problems seemingly in sight, all was peaceful, calm and quiet. Though for one individual, they just couldn't keep still. Jumping from branch to branch along the highest trees, a young girl was leaping at great lengths from point A to point B almost as if her life depended on it, though the smile on her face would tell you otherwise.

She continued to use her momentum and agility to swing and jump from various trees before stopping at a waterfall, let out large exhales and sat down near it. From the duffle bag she had behind her, she pulled a water bottle and drank a good portion in one sitting before exhaling from delight. She closed the cap and began to relax, listening to the sounds of nature, though it was hard to hear all of it with a waterfall beside her.

Xion/Narration: "It's been a little over a week since I started as Goku's student, and honestly, the daily training is nothing like what I expected. Sure we sparred plenty of times though nothing too serious other than growing my strength through battles, while other times it's with basic exercises. He also has me doing objectives like this where my goal is to find certain objects within a certain time period and I have to travel specific ways to increase my muscles but also in a way to not lose any speed, which is where my agility and athletics come in.

He told me that he and a fellow student of his master did something similar when they were kids and the deadline was sundown or there was no dinner for the loser…honestly, that's pretty rough. Thankfully, my punishment isn't as severe, but then again fighting giant animals and dinosaurs isn't exactly what I call an improvement, though I get to eat what I kill…no matter how many times I say that, I will never get used to it. For other training sessions, Chi-Chi offered to help me train my mind, she tutors me a lot about fighting and non fighting topics. She wants me to learn a lot but not too much since a lot of stuff is way over my head, she's almost a strict instructor as Goku is a trainer.

As for my spiritual training, well…that's kind of on hold. Goku says I have a lot of spirit but wants me to get far enough on my physical and mental training so it's on a level equal or close to my spiritual level. So for today's assignment, I'm to locate an orange sphere with three red stars that he tossed into the forest with his incredible strength. I tried to follow it to the best of my abilities and figured its trajectory, now all that's left is to find it and bring it back before sundown tonight since I'm to use my physical training to search for it and my mental training to map out its location, but before all that, I need to keep my energy up since I'll always have to carry a heavy burden. No, I'm not talking about the mission of helping Roxas and Axel, I mean a literal heavy burden.

Thanks to Goku's new training outfit, my body almost makes me feel like an anchor in the ocean. I'm getting used to them now after many, MANY attempts, but I'll never forget the day I first tried them on."

*FLASHBACK*

Goku: "Alright Xion, since I got a good idea of your strength from the spar two days ago along with the training yesterday, and the mental capabilities you have due to your missions with the organization, we're going to move a little past the basics that every martial artist beginner needs to learn." He told her.

Xion: "But Goku, I'm not a martial artist, I'm a sword user." Xion said.

Goku: "Even sword users can be martial artists. Despite using one's body to fight or one using a sword in battle, the training is essentially the same principle. Synchronizing your physical and mental capabilities along with strengthening one's own abilities and valor with your spirit. As long as you train this way, your swings will be faster and your hits will be harder. Even the old saying goes "Think of your sword not as a tool, but as an extension of yourself." I mean…it did help me a lot when I used my Power Pole when I was younger." Goku explained.

Xion: "I see…so you can use a sword and still be a martial artist." Xion thought out loud.

Goku: "Of course, there are some martial arts competitions where weapons are illegal to use, but as long as you got the training memorized, you won't be needing the keyblade all the time. If you want, I can teach you a few martial arts techniques that'll help you if for some reason you aren't able to or don't have to use the keyblade in battle." Goku offered.

Xion: "Hmm…let's get my basic training done first before I consider that, Goku." She replied. Goku nodded his head in understanding.

Goku: "Got it, we'll wait before continuing this discussion. Now for the next part of your training, since your spirit is at a level above those of your physical and mental capabilities, we're going to use the same way my master taught me and my pal when we were kids to increase our strength. So, with that in mind Xion, I want you to wear only this outfit for your training everyday." Goku instructed. He then held out a black training top for women, black gi pants with a silver belt, black wristbands and black boots with silver line details. "I asked a master of mine if he could whip these up for you for your training. Honestly I wasn't expecting you to be at this level already, but with your smarts from the organization and your history of battle, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. I kept the color scheme the same as your coat since it seems like you're attached to it. If you don't like it, I could always ask him to change it." Goku offered. Xion stared at the clothes in awe.

Xion: "No, it's fine Goku. Just, never imagined myself ever wearing something like this before. The color's also fine too, thank you. I'll take them." She replied. She puts her arms under the clothes expecting to carry them, only to give out a loud yelp as the clothes go crashing down with her arms almost being the victims to becoming pancakes if Goku didn't catch them with his foot, holding the spot between where Xion's hands are. Xion removes her arms and shakes them as if they were covered in mud. "What in the world was that?!" Xion exclaimed.

Goku: "That is what you're going to be training daily in. These are weighted clothing, with the training top and pants weighing in at 50 pounds while the wristbands and boots are only 25 pounds." Goku explained. A sweat dropped from Xion after processing this information.

Xion: "How do you expect me to train in this stuff if I can't even carry it?!" Xion shouted. Goku instinctively waved his hands defensively in front of him.

Goku: "It's ok, Xion. Try just carrying the boots instead of the whole load at once. For training today, we're going to increase your body's strength so we can get you able to lift and wear these clothes. Once you're able to wear them, you'll be training in them everyday so your body will naturally adjust to their weight and they'll feel like normal clothes. Me and my friend did something similar, but instead of clothes, Master Roshi had us wear heavy turtle shells that weigh 50 to 100 pounds. The weighted clothes that I'm wearing now are even heavier than that." Goku explained.

Xion suddenly began to have doubts about training here and was considering making a break for it before the only thing that breaks are her bones. Ultimately, she decided to accept the clothing. Sure enough it was heavy for her to lift both boots off and set them on the ground, it was nearly twice as hard to move with them, but eventually her legs gave enough strength to walk around with just the boots on. Soon enough, she slowly began to grow confident that she'd be able to wield all her weighted clothes, though it didn't stop the pain from spoiling her confidence.

It was decided, her daily training begins with mental training with Chi-Chi in the morning, then physical training with Goku during the afternoon, come evening Xion practices what she learned, both physical and mental, through the day, dinner with the family being a resting point and get plenty of rest for the night. Goku offered to let the weighted clothes be an option when it comes to eating and practice but she's allowed to have them off before she goes to bed. This was the training style Goku had for Xion in the similar way as the Turtle Hermit School slogan goes; Work hard, Study well, Eat and Sleep plenty. A balance that Xion came to accept.

*FLASHBACK END*

Xion/N: "Gotta give Goku credit, I wasn't expecting my body to ever move again after putting on these clothes, but I've slowly begun to get used to the weight and make adjustments to my body's movements to help balance out my speed with the weight of the clothes." Xion then got up off the ground after a little struggle of standing up.

Xion: "Alright, break time's over! Time to find that ball." Xion said out loud and proceeded to move towards the direction she was following before. An hour passed and Xion was still unable to locate her target, though she narrowed the search to where she thinks it landed, it was still pretty difficult to locate a small orange object.

After a few minutes of wondering, she heard some noises that didn't sound like the natural wildlife, it sounded like machinery. She investigated out of curiosity and came to discover three large stationary humanoid robots, but in front of them were the pilots. A tall woman with long black hair, a blue coat, tan pants, and brown boots. A small humanoid dog creature with a purple suit, wielding a katana. Finally at the front, to which she presumed is the leader of these three is a small blue skinned man in a green and black shirt, wearing blue pants, and a blue and red hat.

?: "You sure it was around here?" The blue man asked the woman. She nodded her head and pulled out a radar from her jacket pocket.

?: "Yes sir, the radar indicates the Dragon Ball is around this vicinity." The woman replied.

Xion: "Dragon Ball? What's that? Also, who are these guys? I don't know whether to take them seriously because of those robots, or laugh at them for looking like a circus act." Xion thought to herself.

?: "Sire, look up there!" The dog man called while pointing at a tree. They looked up and gasped in shock.

?: "There it is! My Dragon Ball!" The small blue man cheered.

Xion: "Guess they found what they were looking for. What am I doing?! I can't hang around here, I have to find my target!" Xion thought angrily to herself. She began to walk away from the trio of weirdos.

?: "Looks like the Three-Star ball. So now that leaves six more to go." The blue man said faintly as Xion was walking away. Though as soon as he said "Three-Star", she quickly rushed back to where she was and saw if what she thought was correct. She looked past her hiding spot and saw the blue man was holding a small orange ball with three red stars, her objective.

Xion: "Oh great…" Xion complained.

?: "How close is our next target?" The blue man asked the woman.

?: "Pretty far away, should take almost a half an hour if we fly with our mechs." The woman replied. The three of them heard rustling close to them and faced towards the direction. Xion was walking towards them with a somewhat hesitant expression.

?: "Who are you?!" The blue man demanded. The purple dog man stares intensely at Xion before looking at the woman.

?: "Hey, Mai? This kid seems an awful lot like a younger you, is she a relative?" The purple man asked. The woman looked angrily at the dog man.

Mai: "Of course she's not! Just because we have black hair and blue eyes does not mean we're related, Shu. Don't be an idiot!" The woman called Mai replied.

Xion: "So those two are called "Mai" and "Shu", huh? I don't know why, but they remind me of that weirdo me and Roxas found in Agrabah." Xion thought to herself.

?: "Silence, both of you!" The blue man yelled. Mai and Shu freaked out at the blue man and quickly bowed.

Both: "Sorry, Emperor Pilaf!" They both yelled.

Pilaf: "All right, kid. Who are you and what do you want?!" He asked angrily to Xion.

Xion: "Oh…uh, I'm Xion and I was asked to retrieve that ball you're holding. I think you called it a… "Dragon Ball?" Xion answered.

Pilaf: "I see, so you're after the Dragon Balls too?" Pilaf asked suspiciously.

Xion: "Well, not really. You see, my teacher instructed me to find that ball after he tossed it into the forest as part of my training. I'm not really looking for these "Dragon Balls", I was just told to bring that one back." She explained.

Pilaf: "I see, well I'm glad I don't have to worry about someone else finding the Dragon Balls, though I believe this particular instance prohibits me from relinquishing this Dragon Ball. I'm sorry my dear, but I'm afraid the law of the world is at work here and it is a powerful law indeed." Pilaf said solemnly before turning his back to her.

Xion: "Wait, there's a law? What law?" She asked curiously. Pilaf turned back to her direction, staring at the ground before wearing a large smile with an evil look in his eyes, facing Xion.

Pilaf: "Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers!" Pilaf taunted before laughing menacingly. Xion on the other hand…was dumbfounded. This man who acted so mature just a second ago…was now acting like a complete child. "Mai, take care of her!" Pilaf ordered. Mai grabbed her gun and blasted Xion in her state of confusion, but the blast knocked her out of her state and onto the ground, motionless.

Shu: "Sir, wasn't it a bit harsh to blast a kid like that?" Shu asked Pilaf. Pilaf looked back at Shu with anger before grabbing his collar with his free hand.

Pilaf: Now you listen to me! We are not having a repeat performance on what happened all those years ago! When I see a brat asking for a Dragon Ball, I make it a personal mission of mine that one of you two idiots kill them!" Pilaf scolded. Shu nodded out of fear. "All right you two, onto the next ball!" Pilaf commanded as they walked to the mechs. "Too harsh…honestly, like we need another Goku to worry about." Pilaf complained.

?: "So you know Goku, huh?" A voice behind them asked.

Pilaf: "Yes, we know of Goku. That brat ruined my plans for world domination plenty of times in the past, but not this time! I'm going to get all the Dragon Balls and wish for world domination, baby!" Pilaf answered before laughing menacingly again. The laugh was short lived as he slowly turned around in disbelief and saw Xion standing up from her spot holding her chest from where the bullet hit her. "H-How are you standing up?!" Pilaf asked in disbelief.

Xion: "Sorry, but a gun like that isn't good enough to kill me. But if it makes you feel any better, that really hurt." Xion said, with an angry tone. Pilaf screams from terror and disbelief.

Pilaf: "Mai, hurt her again! Keep hurting her until she begs for mercy!" Pilaf commanded while pointing at Xion. Mai, in response, pulls out two pistols and begins to fire at Xion. Xion in retaliation, summons her keyblade and deflects some of her bullets, mostly the ones aimed at her head the most. The Pilaf Gang looked at her weapon, shocked that such a ridiculous looking weapon could deflect Mai's bullets. Shu charges at Xion, wielding his katana in his hand, and attempts to slash at her. Xion counters by blocking his blade's attack and launching both him and his weapon back at Pilaf's direction.

Xion: "You know, it's funny you should mention Goku. He's actually my martial arts teacher. Now drop that Dragon Ball and get out of here!" Xion demanded. Pilaf laughed at her demand.

Pilaf: "Very well, my dear. We'll leave, just as soon as we're done putting you in your place, brat! Into the power suits!" Pilaf commanded. The three of them ran to each of the machines in a panic. Mai ran to the pink colored one, Shu entered the green one, while Pilaf laughed evilly inside the blue one. They unexpectedly combined into a single giant robot. Xion wasn't impressed enough to call this thing intimidating, but she was surprised that these goofballs had machines capable of merging together.

Pilaf: "Usually we'd never start all out with the merging process, but since you're Goku's student, it only seems fair to use our new giant robot on his student as a test run. This robot is far more powerful, much stronger, and more durable than the last time Goku fought this machine as a child. I hope you make the same pained expressions as he did when we were beating him to a pulp." Pilaf boasted before laughing once more.

Xion: "Truth be told…" Xion began. The three look at her with smug faces, expecting a scared surrender. "...I've seen much bigger things in my life. And if you think this overgrown toy will frighten me, you've got another thing coming." Xion taunted. Quickly angering Mai and Shu but Pilaf kept laughing.

Pilaf: "If you think empty threats will scare me just because you're Goku's student, you're wrong. Not even he will be a match for this mechanical terror!" Pilaf declared. "Now, feel the wrath of the power of Pilaf!" He yelled before the mech gave a devastating punch at Xion. She quickly dodged out of the way before the strike could hit her. After the machine pulled its arm back, the blue portion of the robot opened up and missiles began to fire at Xion. She quickly ran off to the left, trying to avoid some missiles while swatting away the ones that would have hit her with the keyblade.

The robot came charging at her with quick speeds, it took Xion by surprise. Before the mech can deliver another devastating punch, Xion uses her keyblade to block the attack, sending her flying into the forest. She braced herself better, and while she did hit multiple trees, none of them knocked her out of commission again. She saw the robot come charging at her and began to run towards the robot. As soon as they were close enough, Xion used her Blizzard magic to freeze up the ground underneath the robot, causing it to slide onto its back with its motion. Xion jumped onto the robot part with Pilaf inside and proceeded to attack the glass with all her strength. Though even with all her attacks, the glass didn't shatter, not even a scratch remained.

Pilaf: "Something wrong? I told you this robot is far more durable than the last time we fought Goku, even the glass is far more stronger." Pilaf boasted. She hears something to her left, and after a quick glance, jumps out of the way before she could get hit with the robot's left arm. The mech stood back on its feet and seemingly did the impossible and vanished from sight.

Xion: "Oh not again…" Xion exclaimed. She heard the robot's movements clearly, but couldn't pinpoint its exact location.

Pilaf: "Up here!" Pilaf's voice yelled. As Xion quickly looked up, she was barraged with multiple missiles. She attempted to dodge out of the way of all the missiles, but the explosions they created sent her flying. She rolled back up to see the robot charge at her and in a hurried state, she raised her keyblade in the air and casted her Thunder magic. The lightning magic stopped the mech in its place as the trio were electrocuted from inside their machine parts. Xion wasted no time in attacking the legs of the robot, believing them to be the weakest point of the merged machine. After three consecutive attacks, the right leg broke apart.

Xion: "One down, one to go!" Xion thought to herself. The top of the right leg soon disconnected itself, and was replaced by a new leg. "What?!" Xion exclaimed. Before she had time to react, the hand of the machine grabbed her and brought her up the mid section's glass where Mai looked at her caught prey and smiled smugly. Xion struggled as best as she could but couldn't escape its grasp.

Pilaf: "Well done Mai, now crush her into dust! After that, we'll present her corpse to Goku. That'll put the punk in a fit and he'll meet the same fate!" He ordered. Mai began to apply even more pressure on the grip of the robot, causing Xion to scream in pain as the force began to crush her. "You may be wondering about the leg. See we knew either you or Goku would attempt to throw our robot off balance by attacking its limbs, but that's what contingency plans are for. Which is why we added multiple arms and legs on standby just in case someone were to smash them, and while they were caught off guard, we'd move in for the kill!" Pilaf explained before cackling triumphantly at Xion's predicament.

Xion: "He talks too much, but if I don't get out of this soon, I might be done for." She thought to herself. She began looking across the robot for any way to get out of this situation. She then noticed Pilaf looking intensely at Xion with a smug glare. "I only got one chance at this, but if I'm right about him…" She said to herself. As much as she could, she aimed the keyblade at the top half of the machine and fired a couple shots of her Blizzard spell at the glass, covering it with multiple shards of ice, blocking Pilaf's view.

Pilaf: *Screams* I can't see! Mai, get this stuff off of me!" Pilaf screamed. In a panic, Mai used both of the robot's arms to remove the iced casing covering Pilaf's glass, not realizing she accidentally dropped Xion in the process. "Hah…thank you." He said before screaming at the robot's open hand. "Mai, you incompetent buffoon! Why did you use both hands when only one was enough?!" Pilaf yelled angrily.

Mai: "My apologies sire! I couldn't see if the ice had broken through the glass since I can't see you from my own cockpit!" Mai responded. Xion used this opportunity to climb behind the machine in its blind spot. Once she stood on the shoulder of the machine, she looked at the head of the robot holding Pilaf's bot, specifically at one part, her target. Before the trio had a clue as to where she was, Xion began to attack with all her might the "neck" of the robot, the part of the machine that held Pilaf's machine in place. It took a bit of force to get the job done, but the neck of the machine holding Pilaf's pod broke.

Xion: "You said you had replacements for the arms, but something tells me even with extra parts, this machine has only ONE head!" Xion said, proudly. She looked inside the hole she made from damage to remove the head, revealing various wires and other electronic devices. She jumped off the shoulder, after which, she fired off one last thunder spell right into the hole and inside the robot. The machine and the two still inside received a massive jolt of electricity, before ultimately falling down due to the fried interior. Xion, seeing that the middle and bottom half of the robot were no longer in commission, began to walk to the pod holding Pilaf. She looked inside and found the Dragon Ball, still in Pilaf's hands.

Pilaf: "You may have taken down my machine, but you're still not getting this Dragon Ball from me!" Pilaf yelled before blowing a raspberry at Xion. Xion smiled smugly at his claim.

Xion: "Suit yourself then." She merely said before walking to another hole that was made when the pod snapped out of position and activated a Fire spell. The inside of the pod quickly burst into flames before she walked back to the glass and stared at Pilaf. He glared at her, but it soon vanished as the inside of the cockpit soon began to fill with smoke. "I just hope you're good at holding your breath as you are barking orders." Xion said. Seeing as there was no way out of the predicament and smoke filling up the pod, Pilaf opened up the pod and ran outside, coughing out the smoke.

Pilaf: "Water…*cough* I need water! *cough* *cough.*" He pleaded. Xion tossed him a bottle of water. He began to drink the water heavily to get all the smoke out of him, before stopping giving an exhale of relief. "sigh* Thank you." He said.

Xion: "You're welcome." Xion said before giving a heavy strike with her keyblade on the top of Pilaf's head, knocking off his hat. As he began to wobble back and forth from the impact, he dropped the Dragon Ball and collapsed into unconsciousness. She picked up the Dragon Ball and began to admire it. "Alright, mission accomplished." She said before returning back to the Son house.

Time was almost up, but she returned with minutes to spare. Goku was training himself by doing various exercises when he noticed Xion walking back.

Goku: "Hey, Xion. Did you find your target?" He asked. Xion didn't give a verbal response, but instead tossed him the Dragon Ball, to which he caught easily. "Well done, Xion. Glad to see you found it without any trouble." Goku praised.

Xion: "Actually, about that, Goku. I kind of did run into some trouble when trying to find that Dragon Ball." Xion replied. Goku stopped his exercises and walked up to Xion.

Goku: "What happened?" He asked. The both of them sat down by the wall of the house and Xion began to explain about her introduction to Pilaf and his dummy duo. "I see, so you ran into Pilaf while trying to find the Dragon Ball, and he had a machine that he was sure was capable of taking me down…" Goku summarized, seriously. Xion nodded in response to his deduction, but what happened next caught her by surprise. "Well done, Xion!" He cheered.

Xion: "Huh?" She said, puzzled. Goku seemed to be filled with excitement.

Goku: "See, your training is working! If you defeated Pilaf's machine that was built to deal with me, you're definitely getting better! Your training is paying off!" Goku cheered with a wide grin as he gave her a proud pat on the shoulder. Xion hadn't noticed it before, but he was right. Xion knew Goku was stronger than her and whether or not that machine COULD beat Goku was unclear, but she did beat it with everything she had. She never even realized that she WAS indeed getting stronger.

Xion: "Huh, now that you mention it, I did, didn't I?" Xion said, perking up. She never really got excited after beating a large Heartless before, because it was just her assignment, so taking down three weirdos in a giant robot for the sake of training actually felt pretty good to her. "Yeah, I showed those creeps what happens when they mess with Goku and his number one student!" Xion cheered. She quickly covered her mouth and blushed after realizing she started to sound like a lazy bum she knew of. Goku however, laughed at her proclamation.

Goku: "That's the spirit, Xion! I also see you're starting to have a better handle on your weighted clothes, now I wonder what could've done that." Goku asked as he pointed at her dirty gi. She never noticed it before but during the fight, she never found it hard to move around in. This caught Xion by surprise.

Xion: "Wait, you said that ki helps break one's limit. Are you saying that I unlocked my ki?" Xion asked, excitedly.

Goku: "Well that's tough to say, you don't have full control over yet, but I think in the moment of battle, you unknowingly unlocked your ki. Now if you could control your ki, you're gonna get even stronger. In order to do that, we're going to see a master of mine, one that will help you control your ki. It's also the same master that made you your gi." Goku explained.

Xion: "The same one? How will he help me with controlling my ki?" Xion asked, confused.

Goku: "Well that's a talk for tomorrow, right now, we still got more training to work on. You ready, Xion?" Goku asked.

Xion: "Yes!" Xion replied, excitedly.

Day 16: While doing my training today, I ran into some weird characters. They called themselves Shu, Mai, and Pilaf, who calls himself an "emperor", but I think it's just his allies who think that. I battled against a large robot of theirs that nearly did me in, but I somehow managed to pull through after taking advantage of Pilaf's egotistical behavior. I asked Goku about the story behind these Dragon Balls and he told me that they're mystical objects that when all seven come together and say the right chant, a mighty dragon gets summoned forth and is able to grant any wish that the summoner makes. That honestly sounds incredible, but I'm not interested in collecting them. It sounds like too much of a hassle to search around an entire world to only get one wish granted.

The Four Star ball on top of Gohan's hat is the most special, at least according to Goku. He said it was a memento from his grandpa Gohan and it means everything to him, it lets him know that even though he's gone, he's still watching over Goku and his family in some way. I like that, kind of like my journal is going to be a memento from my time here, for when I leave. Even if I forget my time here, this journal will always keep my adventures. That way Goku, Chi-Chi, and Gohan will always be with me.

Back on topic of my training, Goku said that I'm going to be seeing another one of his masters tomorrow, the same one that helped him master ki and made me my weighted clothes. I hope they're like Master Korin, he's really nice.

After completing her morning training with Chi-Chi, Xion was told by Goku that they'll be using the Flying Nimbus to reach this mysterious master that Goku's been talking about. As they flew on the Nimbus, Xion can't help but feel a moment of Déjà vu.

Xion: "Wait, isn't this…?" Xion began, turning back at Goku who nodded his head.

Goku: "Yep! The one we're going to see is above Master Korin's tower. The Flying Nimbus can't take us all the way there, but it can lead us to the point where we can fly up." Goku explained.

Xion: "Fly?! Goku, I can't fly yet." Xion said, worried.

Goku: "You can't, but I can take you, but after that you'll have to pick up the trick on flying yourself so you can come here any time." Goku explained.

Xion: "Uhh…ok then." Xion said, hesitantly. Xion couldn't help but feel as if she's cheating in her training. She knows that Goku compared her current strength to his during the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, but that really didn't help if one of the challenges was to use a method other than flying to reach this master. She was taken out of her thoughts when she saw Korin's tower coming into view. "Do you mind if we say hi?" Xion asked.

Goku: "Nope, but remember, we're on a schedule here." Goku responded. Xion gave a nod of understanding and jumped off the Nimbus when it arrived at the staircase when the Nimbus first took them to see Korin. They walked up the staircase and saw Korin examining a green bean.

Xion: "Korin." Xion gently called. Korin was taken out of his thoughts and turned to the course of the voice. He saw Xion and Goku at the entrance way with smiles on their faces as they greeted their friend.

Korin: Ah, hello there Xion. How has training with Goku been?" Korin asked. She walked up to him and crouched to his level.

Xion: "It's been really well, Korin. I've gotten stronger than I was when you first met me and according to Goku, I'm only going to get even stronger." Xion explained. Korin nodded his head and stared intensely at her.

Korin: "Indeed, you have gotten stronger. The power I sense within you has increased. I see you've been fanning the flame of your power well, thanks to Goku." Korin said.

Xion: "Not just Goku, but Chi-Chi has also been helping me. Goku's been helping with my physical training while Chi-Chi's been my instructor for my mental training." Xion said.

Korin: "Ah, I see. So not only Goku but young Chi-Chi has been helping you. Good for you, Xion. I'm sure you're making both your teachers proud." Korin praised. Xion chuckled happily as a response. "Now my dear, tell me. What brings you here?" Korin asked.

Goku: "I'm going to take her to see Kami. We think she unknowingly unlocked her ki and I'm sure Kami will be able to help her understand how to control it." Goku explained. Korin sat in silence while looking at the two of them.

Korin: "I ask that you reconsider, Goku." Korin advised. This removed both of Goku and Xion's smiles quickly and replaced them with frowns of confusion. "You see, Goku. While I can clearly see that our dear Xion has improved a lot than when we first met, I do not believe she is ready to handle Kami's kind of training. I'm afraid her level of power is not enough." Korin explained.

Goku: "Ah, really? You sure? I thought she was ready for his training, after all she's about as strong as me when I first went to see Kami." Goku said. Korin shook his head.

Korin: "Well if we're determining it from past experiences like that, Goku…I'm afraid she's not quite there yet. Though she is pretty close though, and do not forget you had your powers increased with the Ultra Divine Water after that tournament to defeat King Piccolo. Only after his defeat did you seek training from Kami." Korin explained.

Goku: "The Ultra Divine Water…? Wait, that's it!" Goku yelled, startling both Xion and Korin. "We can have Xion take a drink from the water, then she'll be strong enough to be able to meet Kami." Goku said as he placed a hand on Xion's shoulders. Xion was all the more confused about this water they keep talking about.

Korin: "Goku, I'm afraid you can't do that." Korin said. Goku looked to his old master, waiting for a reason. "Yes it's true, the water can unlock her deep potential, but you know the risks of what happens when an unworthy human attempts to drink from the Ultra Divine Water. I was willing you let you drink it because we were in dire times with the threat of King Piccolo looming over us. But now that his time is over, we have no reason to have her even attempt it." Korin advised.

Goku: "Not true, Master Korin. Piccolo is still out there somewhere as I'm sure you know. Besides, Xion has her own enemies to deal with and if the Ultra Divine Water works, it'll give her a push for the training she needs to help stop them." Goku explained.

Korin: "Her own enemies? Tell me, who might that be?" Korin asked.

Goku: "A bunch of really bad creeps called "Organization XIII". Goku replied. "From what Xion told me, they're a bunch of bad apples, just like the Red Ribbon Army and possibly just as bad as Piccolo. Look, I don't know how to explain it, but I know this will work." Goku said, looking at his student.

Xion: "You mentioned the risks of drinking the water. What happens when I drink it?" She asked, nervously. Korin stood in silence before giving off a heavy sigh.

Korin: "Goku drank the Ultra Divine Water and in turn, received a massive power boost from it…though the thirteen humans that drank it before him, died almost instantly." Korin answered. Xion widened her eyes with fear upon hearing that. Thirteen others tried it and died as a result, yet at the same time, she couldn't help but get Goku's encouraging words out of her head.

Xion: "...if it can help me, then I'll give it a shot." She said boldly. "I'll drink the Ultra Divine Water, Master Korin." She continued.

Korin: "My dear, there is no reason for you to-" Korin began to reason before Xion cut him off.

Xion: "No!" She yelled. They stood in silence before Xion began to speak up again. "I'm sorry for yelling, but I have to do this, Master Korin. I need the power of the water to help my friends. Truth is, I came to Goku because I believed he was the only one who could train me to get stronger, but if I don't take the steps needed to get stronger that my teacher recommends, I might never see them again." Xion explained before staring at the ground. "Don't get me wrong, I'm scared of the effects of the water if it doesn't work. But I'm more scared of letting my friends down knowing I had a chance to get stronger but couldn't do it out of fear." Xion continued.

Korin: "Such dedication to her friends, even at the cost of her life. She's scared to die, naturally, but she's willing to overcome that fear if it means helping those she cherishes." Korin thinks to himself. He gave another heavy sigh. "Very well, Xion. Seeing as I'm not your master, I have no right to decline your request to drink the water, but I advise you to please be careful and I hope everything works out alright." He said.

Xion: "Me too." She replied. Korin started to walk down the staircase.

Korin: "Follow me, the way to the Ultra Divine Water is inside my home." Korin said, walking down the stairs.

Xion: "Wait, he doesn't have it with him?" Xion asked. Goku shook his head.

Goku: "Nope, but if you think traveling by cloud is crazy, you're really gonna love how we're going to get there now." Goku said, mischiefly, causing Xion to stand there in utter confusion.

Xion: "...huh?"

End Of Chapter 6

A/N: Oh yeah, I TOTALLY didn't have writer's block for a couple of months now trying to figure out the best way to do Xion's training. I dunno what you're all talking about…ok sarcasm aside, I hope you all enjoyed the sixth chapter of this story. Now then, the reason why it was so late. That was my fault actually, in terms of the timeline. When I first mentioned it, I said this opening act of the story happens a couple weeks before the start of Dragon Ball Z, and the most recent review from SuperSaiyanFever, specifically the part where they say:

"Raditz is, bare minimum, three times Goku's max at this point in Z. This is accounting for Goku ditching his weighted gear. Xion being weak from his viewpoint makes sense."

So that got me thinking…how the h*ll am I supposed to close that power gap within a span of a few WEEKS?! So I had to go through MANY different kinds of scenarios and find a way for Xion to increase her power just enough to be ready for the Raditz invasion. So using what I know of Kingdom Hearts' info about keyblade wielders, along with vasts info on ki, it came down to both an timeskip and accidental Ki release since anybody could release ki, but it takes time to master it, I figured this could be a stepping stone in the right direction. Also the Ultra Divine Water could also be another stepping stone in closing the gap.

For those who don't know, The Ultra Divine Water was a way for Goku to gain more power before his fight with King Piccolo on Dragon Ball when he was younger. I figured not only could this be a good way to close the gap, but it could also be a really cool callback to the original show and I plan on doing another one too. (I bet a lot of you can guess it, but please don't mention it in the reviews, I wanna keep it as a surprise for those who don't.)

Now I bet a lot of you are wondering, why did I have the terrible trio as the opponents for Xion's battle. In a way it kind of makes sense, The Pilaf gang were Goku's first big bad opponents, so I figured it was a good way to show that Xion's well on her way to following Goku's footsteps as his student. I also remember (or to the best of my abilities) that they never ONCE appeared during Dragon Ball Z, so this was a good way to introduce Xion to the pain in the neck that Goku had to deal with as a kid.

So, now that I got that block demolished, I can once again be well on my way to continue this story. I also have some other news for you. I asked a friend of mine and he said he'd be able to make some art for the fanfic in terms of a certain scene or some other things that I got rolling in my head…and you can bet I wanna see him make the moment Xion first meets Ox-King with her full intimidated posture. Though if anybody else wants to send their own fan art for this fanfic, feel free to message me and I'll post them after the end of a chapter, I'd actually love to see what y'all would make :D.

Ok, that should be it for everything. If I got anything wrong, feel free to message me and I'll make the appropriate adjustments for the later chapters. Hope you all have a good day!
