Chapter 2: Awakening
Hermione woke up in a bed that was so soft, like a pillow, and the sheet was probably made of silk. She does not really remember how she got here, but she knew that yesterday she lost her parents. The memory was still fresh, and the tears were also going down her face. "Mom," she said in a tiny voice, and she found the bear that helped her at the police station in France beside her. She started to hug that thing like there was no tomorrow. She hid under the covert when the tiny elf came again to see if she was fine.
"Miss Harmony," Milly says, and the elf sends a message to other Malfoy elves to let Mrs. Malfoy or Master Malfoy know that Miss Granger is awake. Then the lady of the house entered Hermione's room and then moved toward the bed. "Hermione," she said, was wearing another fancy dress, and Hermione was still hiding under the blanket. The little boy that was there last night showed up. "Mother," he asked, and then looked at the girl hiding under the sheet. "May I try to talk to her?" he whispered to his mother. His mom let him go.
"Do you like books?" he asked the girl, and she smiled. "I could see that you have Hogwarts and History if you take the chance to read the book!" He asks, and the cover starts to move, then an eye pops up.
"I didn't have the time to read it that Man gave it to me to read, but I don't know what Hogwarts is," she said, and then he looked at his mother, and then he said, "Would you like us to read it? I never read it before." He lied, but if he could help the girl stand so she could go eat, he would do it. "How about Mother help you get your dress after breakfast? We could read the book in the library." She looked at the little boy and said, "Okay, I will love to see the library. I love books." She removed all the cover and then looked at the lady and said, "Could you help me get dressed?" She was still hugging the bear that was given to her.
Mrs. Malfoy looked at her boy, and he left the room. "Sure, my dear, we have your stuff from Paris. Would you like to pick your outfit from that or some that I picked for you?" She showed the closet that was just beside the washroom, and she didn't want to wear something that reminded her of that time in Paris. But she also wanted something of hers. She looked at the necklaces that her mom had brought her the day before. "Could I wear my locket with something that you pick? I just want to be comfortable."
Narcissa picked a dress that she loved from the collection that looked like something that probably Mrs. Granger would have picked for her daughter, and the girl went to the bathroom and started to get a dress, and she took her stuff that was there for her to use. She felt like someone was washing her last night because she did not smell like Paris. She took the beautiful dress, put it on, splashed her face with water, and then looked at her. "I need to be strong." The words of the policemen echo back in her ears.
"Mrs. Malfoy, I'm ready." She exited the bathroom, and Narcissa was speechless. "Draco will be waiting for us in the kitchen. Also, if you're lost in the manor, please call Millie or anyone in your family. Also, this afternoon we will have a person that will come and talk to you. If you need to cry, don't worry, we are here for you."
She followed Narcissa, and a kitchen full of elves was there, and the elves were cooking food. "Thank you, Draco," she says with a tiny smile, still with her bear. She felt like the bear was helping her to be strong. "What would you like for breakfast, my dear?" Another voice came, and she looked up, "May I have Omelette and Orange Juice?" She looked at the man standing, "I'm Lucius and I'm Draco Father; I'm sorry for your loss." She nodded, then tried not to cry, and she hugged that bear a bit closer.
The bear was built with a calming spell plus a water repellent spell, so that is why she was able to be so calm. The Malfoy and the Mind Healer that met her put spells on her to make her feel comfortable with them until she does not need them anymore. A plate of food shows up with fruits and a side of potatoes. She nodded at the elf and then started to eat, placing the bear beside the chair to the left of her.
"Thanks for the food," she has been saying since they visited Japan last summer. Then she took a bite, and the food was so good. She ate politely and correctly, like her Etiquette class taught her, but the food she did, and then she took her cup of orange juice, and she loved every bite of the food. "May have a second," she asks, and the elf says she does not remember the last time she ate, so she was hungry.
Hermione ate three plates of eggs, two bowls of fruits, and three cups of orange juice, and she was full of a good feeling that the food was so good. She looks at the bear and then places the fork and knife to say, "Are you done, Hermione?" Mrs. Malfoy said she was surprised that the girl knew the etiquette; she was pretty good at it too. "Yes!" She looked at him with a smile, and then Draco stood and looked at his mother, then locked eyes. "Would you like to see the library, Hermione?"
She nodded and then stood. "Yes, please, I would love to read Hogwarts History, please," she asked, and then the elf that had taken care of her and Draco smiled at her and then started their way to the library. He wanted to make sure that he was going to give her no moment to cry.
But the fact that for now he is going to have a new person living with him because she lost her family was a bit sad, as was the fact that she was the last of her family of all Purebloods; she was coming from one of the most powerful ones in history. He didn't understand why she was living with the muggles; her father and mother said last night she did not know about the magical world. Draco was really sad for her; she was from one of the most powerful families, and she had no idea.
The Elf arrived with Hermione's copy of Hogwarts History, and he decided to see if he could show her some magic he was about to do, something in front of her. "How?" She looks surprised. "How did you do this, Draco?" She asks, and she looks surprised. "Sometime I'm also able to do that when I really want to get something." She looked at him, and Draco was keeping silent, and then Mother came when he did it. "Oh, Draco has been able to do that since he was a child, since he is a wizard." Narcissca got the cat out of the bag and then looked at her son like it was not something she approved but "A... Wizard." She was still in shock and then looked at Narcissa. "Like being able to do magic," she said, and then she looked at Narcissa. "Yes, I'm also a witch like you, Hermione." Hermione had her mouth open, then she saw black.
Draco and Narcissa rushed toward her, and she fainted in Draco's arms.
"Well, I thought that would happen when we told her, but this was a bit over dramatic," Narcissa said, and then she used her wand to put Hermione on a sofa so she could be ready and then give her the book and the magical bear that Albus had given the child.
Hermione woke up with her bear and then the book on a table. "So I'm a witch and you're all magical; is that why that man Albus told me to be strong and to read this book?" She asked the adults that were around her. "Yes, and if you have any questions, Draco, Lucius, and myself will be happy to answer all of them, but please take the time to read the book Albus gave you." She looks at Mrs. Malfoy and nods. She started reading the book.
(Hogwarts History Introduction page)
This book is for people who would like to learn about the history of Hogwarts School for wizards and witches, as well as students and future students who have no idea about the world of magic. This book was created for families that had never had an introduction to magic. You may feel some of the book explains about magical society, but it is not something that is to the fullest extent, mostly an introduction to the magical world and also an introduction to magical school. For more information about wizarding society, we recommend a book called Magical Etiquette and the History of Magical History, extended edition.
If you would like to know, by receiving this book, you are a wizard and witch soon to be of age to go to a school where magic and other disciplines of magic will be taught. Some families may have some experiences with magic because they were born of magical parents, and some of them have one or no parents who are magical. This is why this book was created to teach future witches and wizards that they are not alone. You may have had that feeling that you've never been like others, that sometimes stuff happens that you never understood, like a toy that you really wanted that came like magic in your bedroom, that sometimes you're able to control some stuff like light. feeling like you have the power to shock people. People who were born into a Muggle (Non-Magical) family when they were babies wanted their parents to give them Broccoli, the food in question completely degraded or was once set on fire.
Magic is everywhere, and you may not fully understand it, but this book will give you an introduction to the magical world.
Hermione was shocked by what she read, but remember that she was able to do some of the stuff that the introduction was saying. She always had a little secret that she was able to make her own light that was able to make her continue reading the book, or when she wanted her stuff closer to her, it was there. One time she also made bubbles that were of animals that were able to make the sound when she took a bath, and it was fun. This book was just telling her something—that she has been a witch since she was born.
She continued reading, and she was really interested in the book when Draco came to her. "It was lunch time."
She followed him, and this time she noticed that Malfoy was really magical because at the lunch table everything was floating like magic. She felt like this was what she wanted to do in the future.
