"When legend becomes fact, print the legend." Truer words have never been spoken. What was the world really like during Link's adventures in Hyrule? The history penned by Zelda and her scribes can hardly be trusted, and this tale is the key as to why.

Theden, one of Link's fathers, is one of the rather few Castle Town survivors after the Calamity. He's recognized by one of the Sheikahs who brought Link to the Shrine of Resurrection, and finds out what's happening with hi son. Now that he knows his son is alive, he sets out to do what he can to be of help long after his own death, when Link wakes in one hundred years.

As he drifted off into blissful unconsciousness, he managed to make out a response. A response spoken with a voice containing tones so sweet that it brought the child almost as much relief as the healing had. "It is my pleasure."

Ganondorf is gone, but Hyrule is far from peace. The political turmoil of the Kingdom weighs heavily on its new Queen, whose citizens question her fitness to rule them. As the unrest spreads to the outer parts of the land, the Lord Hero finds himself unable to contain the impending conflict, and must make a dangerous choice about where his loyalties lie. Post-TP.

A brutal war between the Zonai and Sheikah peoples sends ripples throughout the kingdom. In the midst of the violence, a young Zonai warrior discovers a mysterious ancestor, who urges him to see beyond the plight of his people. For peace is elusive, and Hyrule's greatest threat has yet to emerge. T for violence.

On the eve of his final battle against the Demon King, Link takes a trip up to the Light Dragon, for one final meeting with the woman he loves. *MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR TEARS OF THE KINGDOM*

The light spirits have abandoned Hyrule, plunging it into an ever-lasting night. Zelda's husband says that the light was stolen away; he says that the Twili are to blame. But Midna? She calls him a liar; she calls the missing daylight a burning apocalypse upon her realm; and she calls upon Link to betray his comrades, his prince, his queen, and his kingdom. Slowburn Midlink.

Link finds Princess Zelda showering beneath a waterfall one tranquil day in Hyrule and is mesmerized by the beautiful scene, leading to romance brewing every second he's there.

Requested by DragonSlayerOfAwesomeness. Poor Link gets stuck after an exhibition between him, and Zelda go south. Zelda enlists some help, but things take a turn when the compromising position Link is now trapped in has everyone acting differently, the mission to help Link quickly turns to him being at the mercy of the ones who were supposed to help him. Must be 18 .

Link is a prodigy who can already, at 12 year old, defeat fully trained Knights in combat. That didn't mean anyone expected him to be the one Chosen by The Sword that Seals the Darkness.

Released at last from the ruins of Hyrule Castle, Princess Zelda exults in her freedom and grieves for a century of loss, but discovers that her knight is not the man she had known and loved. (Breath of the Wild)
