Mathew could see it out of the corner of his eye again. It would sound crazy to anyone else, but if it was imaginings…they had happened too often for him to discount it yet again. It was a man, similar to him in appearance and most of the time he looked just like him, unless Mathew looked up too fast and saw a different reflection staring back. Red velvet pancakes.

Mathew was extremely NOT interested, in any relationship or plan or whatever else Alfred might be getting up to THIS time. And whatever machinations his twin appeared to be up to, his father appeared to be in the thick of it too. And that was a major Not Good. His father tended to go overboard, which could be even harder to predict than America's "plans." Mathew stifled a groan.
