"I know that you are in love with another girl Adrien." Those were the first words out of Ladybug's mouth as she came to land and the rooftop and join her partner for their scheduled patrol.
Cat's green eyes popped wide open in shock and he stared at Ladybug with a baffled look crossing his face. "H-how did you know it was me?" He stammers out a few seconds later.
At hearing this question from her crime fighting partner, the black and red spotted hoeing gulped and wrung her hands together nervously in front of her.
"It really wasn't that hard to figure out once I saw how you and the fencer girl have been acting around each other lately." Was her simple response to his question. "And as for myself? I'm dating somebody else now since I figured... you two are perfect for Escher and ris girl I'm dating has already told me once before that she likes me."
It took a few moments for those words to sink in for Cat, but when they did, his emerald greens eyes grew wide and he stared at his partner with a dawning revelation.
"Marinette?" He whispered so softly that the girl in question almost missed it. "Oh my God! How fuck stupid are we? We've been dancing around each other this whole damn time."
Ladybug spluttered for a few moments before she broke out into hysterical giggling. "Y-yeah, we are just two damn fools fooled by the magic of our suits." She managed to gasp out in between her giggles."
It took quite a while for the two of them to regain their composure before either of them dared to try speaking again.
Once their laughter had finally died down a bit, it was Cat Noir who finally spoke up in an attempt to break the ice.
"So Mar... who's the lucky girl who caught your eye?" Cat asked his partner as they sat on a rooftop close to the bakery. Ladybug paused for a moment, a bit startled and not expecting him to bring it up so casually in a conversation.
She thought her words over carefully before she finally answered his question. "It's Chloe's step sister Zoe, we've been dating for a few months now." Was what she eventually settled on saying in the end.
Cat blinked and raised a questioning eyebrow at her from under his mask. "Huh? Why do you say it like it's a bad thing Bug?"
The spotted hero sighed softly and wrung her hands together anxiously in her lap. "I-I don't know... I guess it's just that I feel like I'm not spending as much time with her as I want to." She paused for a moment to give Cat a knowing look and he nodded his head in return, knowing exactly what her unspoken words meant.
She was afraid of what Zoe might say to her if he were to find out that she's Ladybug. But to Cat, that sounded very unreasonable to him. Why was his friend worried about something as trivial as her secret identity being exposed to her girlfriend?
Cat sighed softly and ran his hands through his shaggy hair. "Look Bug, I know you're scared of what she might think of you: but you should just be honest with her and explain your reasoning for keeping your superhero identity a secret."
Ladybug mulled his words around over in her head for a few moments before nodding her head and turning to face Cat with a soft yet unsure smile forming on her face.
"Thanks Kitty Cat, I'll give your advice a try and just be honest from the start." She stood to her feet, holding a hand out to help him up as the two of them head back to the place they had started out at earlier that night.
