KID became a temporary collaborator for Public Security. They actually got along pretty well, all things considered.
It wasn't until after the job did they meet unexpectedly.
When Kaito entered Blue Parrot like usual…
"Jii-chan? I need a chocolate parfait, ASAP," he calls.
"Of course, Young Master. Just a moment!" Jii-chan calls back.
Kaito sighs as he sits down at the counter.
Unfortunately, he didn't notice two certain characters seated in the booth, staring at him with wide eyes.
Both Furuya and Kazami recognize this teenager's voice as KID's. They couldn't believe that KID, their temporary collaborator, is a teenager.
Feeling stares directed at him, Kaito looks back and…sees Furuya and Kazami.
They all freeze and stare at each other, "Ah…"
On pure instinct, Kaito tries to run away like a stray cat but Furuya was faster, catching him.
"...get back here, you damn brat," Furuya grits his teeth and smiles darkly.
Kaito struggles uselessly for a bit before giving up. He feels like even if he did escape, this man would just chase after and catch him again. He knows when he has lost.
Kaito just whines in Furuya's arms.
Of course, Jii-chan walks in with the parfait, and sees this.
"...Young Master, you still want that chocolate parfait?" Jii-chan asks.
"...hai," Kaito sighs.
After Kaito ate his chocolate parfait, they got to talking. Mostly about KID's circumstances, and eventually…
Furuya offers, "Do you want to be personal collaborators?"
"Huh?" Kaito blinks at the unexpected offer.
"We'll help each other when necessary, in any case," Furuya muses, "Of course, if you refuse, I could always arrest you right here and now."
Sweat-dropping, Kaito groans, "...I really have a choice now, do I?" He breathes a heavy sigh, "...fine. You have a deal, Furuya-san."
Furuya smiles happily, patting Kaito's head, "Good boy."
Kaito feels like he just made a deal with the devil.
Meanwhile, Kazami just sighs, silently wishing himself and Kaito luck. They'll need it.
