Two weeks had passed since the day Nyra and Corlys had first been reunited and they had met regularly to talk about various things except for what had been done to her, her father and his "new family". Corlys had offered her money so that she wouldn't have to whore herself out but she refused, especially since she was primarily only working as a topless barmaid and show girl (stripper/ pleasuring herself in various ways before crowds) rather than being on her back being used. That wasn't to say that she hadn't sucked more than a couple men off since her return to the alehouse or that she hadn't been humped by a fair few men as she had, it just wasn't her primary service. Corlys knew he needed to be returning to Westeros soon but hated the thought of leaving Rhaenyra, Nyra, alone and he really wanted to meet her man so he could tell his family of his own impressions of the man. Then, as it would be, one day as he had just sat down within the Alehouse to wait for Nyra to finish up and then dress to leave, a young dark haired man entered the establishment holding some flowers in one hand. At first, Corlys dismissed him entirely but then he heard the man ask the barkeep where his wife, Nyra was.
"Are you Sihtric?" Corlys inquired of the man.
"I am," replied the younger man with suspicion in his eyes.
"I am Lord Corlys Valerian, a kinsman of your wife from Westeros. I have been hoping to meet you before I must return home as she speaks very highly of you and I have wanted to become acquainted with the husband of my good son's niece. Daemon, I know, would give me no end of grief if I only had her words to go by about you."
Before the men could speak further, Nyra walked down the stairs.
"Sihtric?!" she asked in amazement.
Upon hearing the voice of his beloved wife, Corlys couldn't help but notice the way the younger man's entire countenance changed, brightening and lightening with unbridled joy and love.
"Gods Nyra, I have missed you woman!" said Sihtric as he quickly moved to her.
Before Sihtric could pull her into his arms in an embrace, she slapped him. "Fifteen months and no word at all. Fifteen months and all I've even had to go by as to if you were even still alive is that Father Beocca said he saw you two months ago. I have been worried sick about you. How dare you leave me for so long. I've missed you," Nyra ranted, starting in an angry tone but softening as she broke down into tears as she collapsed into her husband's arms. "Never do that to me again! Promise me Sihtric!" she begged.
Wrapping the arm holding the flowers around her waist, Sihtric cupped her cheek with the other. "If I ever have to be away from you for that long again, I swear that I will try to find a way to send word to you on the regular. Gods woman I missed you. Finan and I have only just arrived in Winchester and I told him that I had to go and find you. I couldn't bear to be apart from you for even a moment longer."
Then he kissed her slowly and tenderly, full of love and longing, which even Corlys could tell showed how deeply the pair felt for one another.
After a few moments of kissing, Sihtric spoke again to his wife. "I will let them know you are leaving this place so grab your things and our son."
"You mean our sons? I will not leave either behind," Nyra then replied cheekily as she quickly escaped her husband's arms and bounded up the steps.
Wide eyed in bewilderment, Sihtric turned to Corlys, "Did she say sons? I have another child?"
Grinning widely, Corlys replied, "Yes, apparently you left her only a couple months pregnant with your second boy and she sincerely hoped you would return before he reached his first year."
"Finan will never let me live this down. Gods, I've always hoped to have my own family and to know my wife and the Gods have blessed me with two boys, this is truly amazing. I will have to find a way to make it up to her all of the trials she had to endure carrying and birthing him without me around. I love her so much."
"I doubt you will have much to do in that regard. I can see how you look at her. You truly value her as herself. To her father, she was at best something he could use and at worst, a reminder that her mother never gave him a living son. To her sweet, gentle mother, who while I know she loved her daughter dearly, I also know her mother also saw her as a failure as Nyra was the only child she ever conceived who actually lived. Daemon loved and spoiled her with lavish gifts but could never behave well enough to really stay and just be there for her. As for my family, the bitterness and resentment caused by the decision of the Great Council towards her father prevented any of us from really seeing her as herself. I know her Arryn kin she has some relationship with and they probably provided the most support for her but they also lived the farthest away. You met her as a whore, not a princess, not as a dragon rider. You begged your Lord for permission to marry her and take her away from a life of prostitution. You built her a home, that while nowhere near the size or anything of the Red Keep or Dragonstone, she loved because you built it for her and your family. You value her as herself and she told me of how much you doted on her when you found out she was carrying your first child and everything you did after he was born to make her life easier. You didn't have to but you did. Her father never showed her mother that much love or respect during any of her pregnancies or recovery periods. Hells, you found out that she had come back here in your absence and the first thing you do once you finally return is to buy her flowers and come to get her when many men would have written her off and abandoned her. She may be a bit angry and upset with you but she truly loves you too much to stay mad for long. Now, go tell them," as Corly nodded his head in the direction of the counter, "that you are taking your wife away from here, hopefully for good. Also, when she does come back down, tell her I've gone back to my ship and that I will be leaving tomorrow for Westeros and my home."
With that, Corlys left the Alehouse.
