Corlys had finally made it home after a long, two year journey that had taken him to a land he had never been to before and there had been shocked to find his King's only child alive, married, a mother of two boys and perfectly happy with her lower class, peasant life. Adding to his shock was learning from her that the King's second wife and her father had arranged for her to be gang raped several times and that the former heiress had proof of it, which her father refused to even look at.

During his trip home, he reviewed the evidence his young cousin had compiled before her banishment and was astonished by the amount and detail of all of it. How the King had refused to even look at all of it, was beyond him. He felt terrible that she had lost everything due to a lie. However, he was also immensely proud to know that she hadn't let her unfortunate circumstance prevent her from building a life of her own. One that her father or the Hightowers had any power to take from her. Her blood and tears had bought her freedom and Corlys doubted she'd ever accept the chains of royal duty again. Besides, Corlys also knew that if or when Viserys ever did learn of the man his daughter had married, he would not be happy with the match. Yet, Nyra and Sitric would surely fight to remain together and with their family.

When Corlys arrived at a place where he could get a message off to Daemon and Laena at their home in Volantis, he sent an urgent note begging them to meet him at Driftmark as he had important information for them.

Thankfully, the couple got the message in time as Corlys could tell that both had already arrived when his ship pulled into his dock.

That evening, after his family had eaten their meal, his daughter finally spoke up.

"Father, the message you sent said that you had urgent, important information?" Laena inquired.

Standing up and walking to the window with his goblet full of wine, Corlys responded. "Daemon, your brother is a fool and I can only hope we are there when he realizes it."

"What has my brother done NOW?!" asked the Prince, exasperated.

"Corlys, my love, you've been away for some time, what information could you have found about my cousin?"

Grabbing the evidence box from where he placed it earlier, he brought it over to the table where his family was seated.

"I was given this by a beautiful silver haired young woman while I was stopped in the Kingdom of Wessex in the British Isles. She told me that she had collected it while she lived in Kings Landing before being banished. She also told me that she did not need it as it was far too late for it to do her any good and that she does not think its likely she'll ever return to Westeros, especially now."

Then Corlys opened the box and passed out the evidence before letting his family review it in silence.

"The young woman you mentioned, husband, that was Rhaenyra?"

"She goes by Nyra now but yes."

"Is she well?"

"When I left, she was far better than when I first found her."

"Why father? What changed?" asked Laenor.

"When I first saw her, she was alone with her two young children in a city called Winchester after having been driven from her home in a village called Coccham following the banishment of the Lord of the estate by the King of Wessex. Her husband, definitely not a man Viserys would ever be happy knowing his daughter was married to, is a warrior sworn to that Lord and he had been away from her for over a year and she knew almost nothing about his whereabouts. The day before I departed, her husband finally returned to her and I got to witness their reunion. Both were overjoyed to finally be together again."

"Corlys, you said my niece is married to a warrior but have not explained why my brother would not like the man. Care to explain?"

With a sly grin on his face, Corlys responded. "Your dear niece fell for and married a pagan, Danish bastard with tattoos, including some on his hands, neck and one side of his head. He also has both sides of his head fully shaved with hair only right down the center of his head that has silver beads woven into it, a bit of a mustache and goatee. They've been married for four years, known each other for six and have two sons, a three year old who shares her husband's name and a baby of nearly a year named after Queen Aemma's father, Roderik. Apparently they married in the Danish pagan tradition, Christian tradition and by the 14 Flames to ensure their marriage was entirely legitimate and could not be undone."

"But is she happy? Does she love him and he, her?" the Prince asked.

"Again, I did witness their reunion and I will swear that they are truly a love match and that he really does make her happy. Before his return, every time she even mentioned him, it brought a smile to her face and made her eyes light up. I know that she'd rather have him than she would have all of Westeros and she'd rather never return, never regain her titles, never have the luxuries of her youth ever again than lose him and their children."

"Something I'm not understanding, father, is, if Rhaenyra had all of this evidence, before leaving Westeros, why did she never share it with her father? Why did she let the Hightowers win?" inquired Laena.

"Nyra apparently tried but her father refused to listen. He told her that perception was more important than the truth and since she was, in all truth, ruined, that there was no place in his court or Kingdoms for her. Now, even though she's still an only child, its her who no longer has a place for him in her life."

Rhaenys then stood up with a sigh. "I knew my cousin was a fool but to know he's a blind fool as well, is irritating. How he could have done that to his only child without even letting her have the opportunity to speak up about anything, that was very cruel of him."

Laena then continued, "Did Rhaenyra tell you what she wanted done with all this," as she motioned to all the evidence.

"She said she does not care but that its just dead weight for her. However, I plan to try to find a way to give her justice even if I never see her again."

"You don't know if you'll ever see her again?" inquired Daemon as fear set into his face.

"The last I heard is that the plan was for them to return to their home in Coccham though they might end up moving somewhere in the neighboring kingdom of Mercia, or, if their Lord can reclaim his ancestral lands, they might end up moving to the Kingdom of Northumbria to a place called Bebbanburg. Its even possible that her husband might end up taking over his father's fortress of Dunham. It was a miracle that we even ended up in the same place at the same time while I was in Wessex. I was told, however, that if I did need to get into contact with her to send the message via an Abbess Hild at the convent in Coccham who will be able to pass along anything."

"What is an Abbess and what's a convent?" asked Laenor to his father.

"A convent is basically a Christian motherhouse and an Abbess is the Head Septa of the motherhouse. Abbess Hild is a friend of hers despite that she's not a Christian but rather follows her husband's Gods and wears a pendant of what's called 'Thor's Hammer.'"
