Raw: October 14, 2013

Randy grabs me from behind to kiss me. "I'm tired already."

I lean on him. "Me too, but we've got work right now."

"I know. Ugh."

"But we'll be home in our own bed tonight."

"That's true. Ah, I love our bed. Especially if you're in the bed with me."

"After we put our children to bed."

"And then I'm making you stay in bed all night."

I laughed before Randy pulled me back into his arms. "You're being so needy today."

"I'm allowed to be so needy. You're my beautiful wife who loves and appreciates me so much. I need to have some of your attention for my ego."

"For your ego? Sounds about right."

"You check in with Kenny to see how he's doing with the kids while bringing them here at all?"

"I texted him about twenty minutes ago. He said everything was going smoothly. I'm sure he'd text or call if there's any concern."

"Good. I just have to make sure things are going well."

"That's because you're an overprotective dad, Randy."

"There's nothing wrong with that."

"I agree. I think it's great. You being a good parent makes you even more attractive."

"I'll give you another baby whenever you decide you want it."

"I think I still need a while before we start trying to have another baby. Plus, we should probably get through our couple's therapy before trying again."

"You make a good point. And we're starting that soon, right?"

"I got told we could start on October 25. About a week and a half away."

"Okay. That's good to know. Keep me posted when you hear the time of the appointment."

"I will."

"Good, so did you schedule a match for me tonight?"

"We're in our hometown. Of course I scheduled a match for you, Randy. You're facing Miz."

"That's good. Thanks."

"Of course."

"You're a good boss, just so you know."

"Thanks, but that sounds like you're kissing up to me."

"Maybe I am. Just a little."

I laugh. "You're really trying to butter me up, aren't you?"

"Possibly." Randy kisses my forehead. "I love you so much."

"I love you too."

"Forever and always." Randy whispers.

"Forever and always."

The door to my office opens.

"Marissa, Paul Heyman is running around backstage, making a fuss about how you seemingly let Punk get away with cheating at Battleground when he gave Ryback a low blow behind the referee's back." Brad says from the doorway.

I sigh. "Ryback already has a rematch at Hell in a Cell. What more does Heyman want? I guess I'll go track him down. Sorry, babe, I'm gonna have to cut this conversation short. Is there anything you need from me once I deal with Heyman?"

"No. I'm quite alright, sweetheart." Randy tells me while giving Brad a slightly annoyed look. "I understand completely, so no worries. Go do your job. But if Heyman or his clients give you a little too much trouble, let me know."

"Alright. I love you."

"I love you too." Randy comments as he heads to leave. "I'll see you in a little while."

"See you in a little while."

Randy leaves and likely heads to prepare for his match. I go to head out myself to see if I can track down Heyman.

"I don't think Randy likes me being around you." Brad comments.

"Why?" I ask as I turn to Brad.

"He seemed annoyed that I came in here to tell you about Heyman."

I sigh. "I'm pretty sure that's not about you. I think he was a bit irritated that our conversation got interrupted, but he understands that I have a job to do."

"If you say so."

"We'll talk about this later." I leave to find Paul Heyman.

I still hadn't found Paul Heyman, but the show had started. My attention had been drawn to a monitor as Shawn was in the ring speaking (as scheduled) and my husband had interrupted him, which wasn't scheduled.

Randy didn't fully trust Shawn to referee this match between him and Daniel for the WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell, and I was well aware of that as Randy and I had some small debates over the issue, seeing as I had made Shawn the referee. However, I wasn't thrilled with Randy making this issue public on TV.

Feeling like this was going to escalate, I headed towards guerilla to be able to catch Shawn backstage after he's done talking and catch Randy after his match against Miz that was scheduled to be right after this. Before I make it to guerilla, I see Curtis Axel, who was one of Paul Heyman's clients, in the hallway.

I turn to Curtis. "Tell Heyman that I want to speak with him soon and will be available in my office to do so after Randy's match. Got it?"

"Got it." Curtis answers before quickly walking off.

I enter guerilla, and my eyes land on a monitor. Randy goes to RKO Shawn, but Shawn shoves Randy to counter it. Shawn goes to hit Randy with Sweet Chin Music, but Randy ducks and rolls out of the ring, only to be attacked by Miz.

I look over at the referees in guerilla. "Go out there and separate those two. Tell them to keep it in their match in the ring."

The referees head out there.

I look over at Shawn. "Got a minute?"

Shawn nods. "Yeah."

"I'm sorry about all that. I know Randy isn't being all that trusting when it comes to you being the referee at Hell in a Cell."

"He tried to RKO me."

"I know. I saw. I've already talked to him about this whole thing before and will again, and I'll get on to him about that RKO attempt because I think that was out of line."

"Okay." Shawn walks past me to exit guerilla.

I sigh before turning back to the monitor to finish watching Randy's match.

I look at Randy as we walk together towards my office. "I can get you being a bit untrusting of Shawn being the referee, but being completely public about it and trying to RKO him was a bit dumb."

Randy sighs. "But he said things to me and about me that were insulting. I had my reasons."

"But you aren't refereeing a WWE Championship match that he's in. He's refereeing your match."

"I'm well aware. Listen, Rissa, I get that you want to believe that Shawn will call things down the middle fairly since he was a big help in training you, but he was even more involved in training Daniel and had nothing to do with training me. How can you expect me to trust Shawn will be fair when he's the referee?"

"He may have trained Daniel, but his best friend is Triple H, who mentored you and has chosen you to represent the company. He won't be unfair towards you."

Randy opens the door for me to enter my office. "It's not like Shawn is unfamiliar with screwing someone over. The Montreal Screwjob exists."

I walk into my office and wait for him to follow. "I get that, but that was also about sixteen years ago. Things change."

Randy walks into the office. "Maybe but how can you be so sure?"

"Because Shawn is a good guy, Randy, and I don't think he'd do that to Triple H or me."

Brad looks between me and Randy from his desk in my office. "Should I go so you two can talk in private?"

Randy gives Brad an irritated look. "Yes."

"Alright." Brad gets up. "Paul Heyman came by. Just so you know, Marissa, since you weren't in here, he claimed he was going to air his grievances in the ring. Do you want me to handle it?"

I shake my head. "No, I'll do it myself. Thanks, Brad."

"Alright." Brad exits the office and closes the door behind him.

I look over at Randy. "You were a little rude with him."

Randy shrugs. "I don't like him."

"But he's my assistant. You could be nicer to him whether you like him or not."

"How am I supposed to like him when he seemingly doesn't ever actually help you? All he does is come running to tell you about issues instead of solving them for you, just like he has with all the Paul Heyman stuff tonight. If Brad was a good assistant, he'd have settled it for you."

I roll my eyes. "He does actually settle problems for me. Paul Heyman is just a huge pain in the ass to deal with, which is why Brad came to me."

"I don't think I've seen him settle any issues for you."

"Well how often are you in my office?" I noticed on the TV in my office that Paul Heyman was heading to the ring. "We will talk about all this stuff with Brad and Shawn later, but I'm not doing it while the kids are with us later. I don't care if you stay in here or go to your locker-room, but I have work to do."

I walk out of my office without another word.

"CM Punk won at Battleground with a low blow, which is clearly cheating." Paul says as he stands in the ring. "I want to ensure that this match at Hell in a Cell is fair, but I seem to be unable to find Marissa Orton. Which is why I'm out here to plead my case, hoping it'll be heard."

I know I want that girl so bad

I lie awake at night

And think of all the things that I would do

With a girl like that…

I walk to the ring with a microphone in my hand. "Paul, what is it exactly that you want? Ryback already has a rematch with Punk at Hell in a Cell."

Paul gives me a stern look. "Mrs. Orton, I want to choose the stipulation at Hell in a Cell. This cheating happened on your watch at Battleground. You need to have me do this to make up for that. I am making this match a Handicap match as CM Punk will take on Ryback and Curtis Axel. That is, as Stephanie and Triple H say, best for business."

I start laughing. "Paul, there were like four other authority figures at Battleground who could've theoretically done something. Don't be throwing all the blame on me. I'm no pushover, so there's no way I'm just going to give in to your demands. However, I'm feeling generous tonight, so tonight Ryback will face R-Truth and CM Punk will face Curtis Axel in matches that will be a part of a Beat the Clock challenge. If Ryback wins, you can have this little Handicap match. However if Punk wins, he will choose the stipulation for the match at Hell in a Cell."

Paul gives an annoyed look before exiting the ring. I do the same, but stop to see my cousin and children at ringside. I kiss my children on the forehead and give Kenny a hug. Kenny, sensing the irritation I had still from my conversation with Randy, gives me a look of concern.

"I'm fine." I whisper.

"If you say so." Kenny responds.

I nod before making my way backstage.

I was standing in my office with Renee as we watched Daniel Bryan vs Alberto Del Rio. While the match was good, I knew things were going to change. Randy had come by my office earlier after Brie got hurt during her match against Tamina Snuka to see if I would have an issue with him going to seem like he was going to mess with Brie (and possibly Nikki) in the trainer's room during Daniel's match to get under his skin and possibly distract him.

I wasn't necessarily completely comfortable with the idea, but since Randy had the decency to ask first, I let him go through with it on the condition that he apologize to Nikki if she got caught up in it.

"Daniel! Daniel, up here!" Randy says as he appears on the titantron. "I saw what happened to your sweet fiancee earlier this evening. I'm very sorry that that had to happen, Daniel. But don't worry. I'm gonna check on her right now. I'm gonna see if she's okay."

Randy walks into the trainer's room and closes the door behind him. Daniel immediately runs backstage to help Brie and Nikki, leaving Del Rio to win via countout.

"Did you know about this?" Renee asks.

I sigh. "Unfortunately."

Daniel runs into the trainer's room, and Randy attacks him from behind. Randy throws Daniel into a few things before a couple referees get involved to diffuse the situation. Randy leaves, and the referees, trainer, and Brie check up on Daniel.

"Something tells me you aren't all that comfortable with this." Renee comments.

"I'm not. I only agreed to it since he had the decency to ask me first and apologize to Nikki after the fact." I explained.

"Oh."

"Plus, I'm sick of fighting tonight. He and I have already disagreed on multiple things tonight. I don't want to have issues in front of our kids."

"That's fair."

It was fair, but all this fighting with Randy was constantly exhausting. I wished that he and I could get along much better, just like we used to. I was putting a lot of faith into this couple's therapy.
