Small council meeting

"The King must have an heir!" said Lord Strong as the council began its usual argument. "Perhaps it's now time for Prince Daemon to be recalled with his family from Volantis."

"My daughter is still young and will soon give the King a son," replied Otto.

"That's what you've been promising for the last eighteen years and she's only even conceived less than a handful of times," responded Lord Beesbury. "At least Queen Aemma was actually able to conceive and did birth a child who lived."

"Lord Hand, it is such a shame that your daughter doesn't share the King's daughter's fertility," spoke Corlys while leaning back in his chair.

"Does anyone actually know what has become of the King's daughter since her banishment? If the council refuses Prince Daemon as heir, perhaps she could be restored to that position?" inquired Lord Strong not grasping what Corlys said.

"What is this of my daughter's fertility?" asked Viserys.

"She takes after Good Queen Allysane, your grace," he replied.

"Rhaenyra is dead!" Roared Otto.

"Really? When did this news reach you? I have only just received news of her latest birth and that all, including herself, are well."

"Latest birth? Rhaenyra has children?!" exclaimed the King.

"It's impossible. Rhaenyra died long ago. She was a whore and likely died birthing a bastard," spoke Otto quickly.

"Nyra, your grace is what she's known as. Married 14 years and her husband has sired all of her children. Ten is the current count with one miscarriage. The pair still struggle to keep their hands off of one another, apparently."

"10 babies. 10 grandchildren. A husband. 14 years. How? When did you learn of this?"

"I've known for a decade back when they only had two boys and lived in Wessex. They've since moved to Mercia with plans to eventually move to Northumbria."

"Why have you never said anything Corlys? This is my DAUGHTER!"

"Why would I? You all but threw her away for the useless Hightower girl. Besides, she's happy and I don't want you to ruin it for her."

"Ruin her happiness? No, she's my daughter and I wish to meet her Lord Husband."

"Her husband is not a Lord, he's a warrior who serves a Lord."

"What?! Surely the Princess would have married a man of great status," inquired Lord Strong.

"She doesn't consider herself a princess, especially since that title was taken from her 18 years ago and no, she chose a war Lord's bastard son. They are deeply in love and very happy together."

"Why would she do this to me?" moaned Viserys. "This is shameful and an outrage. I must see her and make her see sense."

"Perhaps I should say that they wed before the 14, the Danish Gods and the Christian God? She won't leave him."

Standing up, Viserys growled, "Then I will go to her and remind her of her duty. She's been allowed to carry on with this foolishness for far too long."

"Your grace, your power only extends through the seven Kingdoms. If she lives outside of it, then you can't do anything to her. If her husband is sworn to a Lord, then that Lord is responsible for her, not you. You won't be able to do anything," replied Lord Strong.

"I am her King and father!!!"

"Nyra no longer has any duty towards you. Your daughter was raped under the orders of your precious Hand and his whore of a daughter and, instead of actually listening to her, investigating things or even being her father, you told to her about how perception matters more than truth. Then you stripped her of your name and all her titles, locked up her dragon and banished her from the Seven Kingdoms. The fact that she found the strength to survive all alone in a strange place and to build a life there, is a testament to her. You chose your WHORE over your own child who was FORCED to whore to survive. She then found love, chose HIM and chose to THRIVE."

"I concur, your grace. When you took everything from your daughter, you also took away from her any duties she had to the Kingdoms or to your house," commented Lord Beesbury. "Also, without any title of her own, she would not be seen as an attractive option for those of status as a bride. If she wished to wed, inevitably she would have had to settle for a man of lower standing and birth."

"You say it's all my fault then," said the King with tears in his eyes. "It's my fault that she's living in poverty with her bastard husband?"

"They own an alehouse and have a farm, my King. They aren't destitute. Plus their Lord is good to his people and shares his wealth with them all."

"Still, Lord Corlys, this is my daughter, she should be living in luxury."

"Perhaps then, you should have thought of that years ago rather than now that you know she's moved on with her life. She no longer craves luxury as she loves her simple life. What she lacks in wealth, she's gained in love and absolute acceptance. Her husband and her friends value her solely for herself rather than her parts."

Ser Lannister then spoke, "With 10 children I'd wager her husband does value her cunt and womb greatly."

"Of that, my Lord, I have no doubt but he also values her mind and spirit and they enjoy taking long walks together, just to be together and to talk. They make a very attractive pair and he's also gotten her to get a couple tattoos, similar to his own in addition to the matching ones they've gotten together."

Now in an absolute outrage, Viserys stood up and roared, "She's gotten TATTOOS?! WHAT THE HELLS IS SHE THINKING! NO ONE WANTS AN INKED WOMAN!"

Also standing up, Corlys glared at his King, "Her husband is a Dane and many Danes are inked. She's chosen to follow the customs of her husband's people just like she worships her husband's Gods. You threw her away. You banished her. You have no say in her life. He wants her. He actually truly loves her and shows her that. He built their house. He brought their farm and alehouse. He protects her and their children. He doesn't care about her past. He only cares about THEIR future. Her childhood had you breeding her mother to death before you killed Aemma as she was never enough for you. Then you discarded her over a LIE that covered up a CRIME. You don't deserve her. You never did. Thankfully she found herself a better man."

With that, Corlys stormed out of the room while the King slowly sank into his seat.

"Your Grace, Lord Corlys should be punished for his behavior," said Lord Otto. "Perhaps a huge fine and a banishment?"

"Banish him where exactly? To Volantis and Daemon or the Isles and Rhaenyra? He knows more about my family than I do Otto! No, if anything I will have him take me to my daughter."

"That would be inadvisable, my King. The realm needs you here," said Lord Beesbury.

"Your Grace, I will find your daughter and deliver to her the punishment you decide upon," said Otto in response. "Her misdeeds and dishonor to the crown will be dealt with, I assure you."

"My daughter will not be punished Otto! I need to see her and speak with her. I need to meet her Lord, her husband and my grandchildren. I will go to her. End of discussion and now this meeting is over."

The King then stood and left the room.
