Chapter 85: Tale of X-49:
X-49's POV:
The name's X-49 and yes, I'm a robot. I turned on my CD and it played a techno-trumpet solo. It's raining. I hate the rain. It makes me sentimental. Then I think about Lulu... Sweet Thing. You're probably wondering why I have all these conflicting emotions. Well, it all started with the robots Aku began using, they were a disappointment. Eventually, the Mad Scientist...
. . .
Angry Scientist: ANGRY!
. . .
... created the X-series, robotic assassins in coats, hats and wingtips. Our job was to seek out dissidents and eliminate with extreme prejudice. I was built to learn, understand, and feel. I then started to develop emotions and the knowledge of right and wrong and what we did was wrong... very wrong. The other X's couldn't care less, how could they? My ability kept me from harm's way, but the others were destroyed. When the last was destroyed, I got angry and destroyed an entire district. That was when I met a pug dog with a huge smile and an odd, heart-shaped tongue. I've never seen anything like her. I decided to take her with me and named her Lulu... Sweet Thing. I then decided to retire and that's when Aku had the Beetle Drones made. I didn't care. I had my music and Lulu... Sweet Thing.
Singer/Chorus: Do I worry, 'cause you're stepping out?
Do I worry, 'cause you got me in doubt?
Though your kisses aren't right, do I give a bag of beans?
Do I stay home every night and read my magazines?
Am I frantic, 'cause we've lost the spark?
Is there panic, when it starts turning dark?
And when evening shadows creep, do I lose any sleep over you?
Do I worry? You can bet your life I do
Do I worry when the Iceman calls? Do I worry if Niagara Falls? Though you treat me just like dirt. You think I give a snap? Are my feelings really hurt. When you're sitting in somebody else's lap? Am I curious when the gossip flies? Am I furious 'bout your little white lies? And when all our evenings end. 'Cause you got a sick friend that needs you. Do I worry? Honey, you know dog-gone well I do.
Am I frantic, 'cause we've lost the spark?
Is there panic when it starts turning dark?
And when evening shadows creep, do I lose any sleep over you?
Do I worry? You can bet your life I do!
Then one day, I found out Lulu was missing. Aku had her and if I want to see her again, I'd have to get rid of the Samurai problem. Looks like I got one last mission.
That brings us back here. I'm sitting in my car in a dingy, rain-soaked alley. I tracked the Samurai to the decommissioned beetle robot factory. Pretty ironic... huhh? Now, I'm entering the factory to take out the Samurai.
Jack's POV:
A robot I did not recognize has entered. His attire reminded me of the gangsters. The robot spies my campfire. He then finds me and attempts to shoot me, but I dodge his bullets and block some with my sword. We then fought. I attempted to strike him with my sword, but he was too quick. This robot was different. He was very determined. I needed to think fast. I then found an identical robot and tricked my opponent into thinking this robot was me. He then killed it, but then saw it was his brother. He was disgusted. I then took this opportunity to slice him. I have won, but then the robot said something...
" Lulu. Take care of Lulu!"
I then realized that this was more than just an assassin... it was another robot with a soul.
. . .
I found his car and found a picture of a strange looking dog. I figured that it must be Lulu. Aku must have her and one day, she will be saved, this I promise you. I am going to tell my friends about what have happened to me.
