Rivercourt Rambles

Chapter 10

Karen and Brooke finished their shopping. And went to the food court. Before leaving the mall together.

Brooke couldn't help but thank Karen for saying what she did to her and getting Victoria off her back.

Karen made it very clear that Brooke was officially family and she would be treated as such.

On the drive home. Brooke brought up the trip that she had brought up to Lucas. And to her surprise Karen was in support of it.

"Having a baby is life altering for a couple. And i imagine having two babies is so much more. So yes take that trip and enjoy yourselves. Sleeping in. And being able to savor the privacy of not having to focus on anything but each other." Karen replied.

"We'll do exactly that. I had alot of reservations about becoming a mom. Given the ice queen example i had."

"I'm still nervous about the entire situation. I know Lucas was meant to be a father. I don't know if any of this will come naturally to me." Brooke confessed.

Before leaving the car. And going inside the home. The couple shared.

When she got upstairs and made her way through the hallway.

She walked inside their bedroom. Surprised to find Lucas packing his suitcase.

"Sun. Water. And anything else Mrs. Scott wants."

"I booked our flight. I got us into later childbirth classes."

"Bu first we have the maternity shoot coming up. And i think we should put our time and energy into that first." Lucas explained.

Brooke's face lit up with a bright smile. She leaned over to kiss him gently.

"This is all i ever wanted." Brooke stated matter of fact.

Days Later

After a big breakfast and a short drive. Brooke and Lucas had their long awaited photoshoot. And the photos came out better then they could of imagined.

They could various print outs. And hung up a few in the living room at home and decided to put the rest away.

Brooke still energized and lively. She spent time packing her suitcase. Until it was time for dinner.

They had take out. Cuddled up under the stars. In their backyard.

Their flight would be taking off. In the early morning.

Which is why they went to bed earlier then normal.

The flight to their destination was a blur. But once they got off the plane and Lucas checked them into at the reception desk.

Brooke couldn't take in the beauty and scenery all at once.

Lucas lead the way to their suite. And as they entered the room.

Brooke's senses went on overdrive.

Lucas wasn't one to just throw money at things. He was smart and sensible. Liked a budget and sticking to that.

While she was the opposite. She liked it and bought it or planned and looked at the price later.

This was a top suite. The views. The bed. The jacuzzi. The closet space.

"Should we unpack.?" Lucas asked.

"We should. And i'll call the girls and let them know we got here."

"And i need to thank Karen and Keith for house sitting for us. When we get back." Brooke replied.

As Lucas turned his attention to his own closet and putting away his clothes.

Brooke started to put away what she brought with her.

And wondered if bringing along lingerie was a mistake.

They hadn't been close in that way since early on in her pregnancy.

"Were you waiting for me to find you in here.?" Lucas asked.

Brooke turned and smiled shyly. "I just am really looking forward to seeing what you have planned. And i can't decide what to wear." She replied.
