Chapter 10: Chamberlain Firehouse

(Later at Ewen High School…)

Jones returned to Ewen High School for his shift.

"Aldridge Mansion? Check. Seward Street subway station? Check." Jones's voice replied.

Jones held the broom & pulled back the table, he turned a corner in a hallway on the locker… Jones went back to the boiler room in the basement and talked to his reflection in a full length mirror.

"Well done, Jones. But still so many more checks to go. You have been bullied your entire life. Now you will be the bully. Trust in your abilities, and the universe would bend before your will." Jones replied.

"Hey, Jones. We got a clogged room in Mr. Downer. It's bad. I mean, like, biblically bad. Get on it." Principal Morton's voice replied, as he hailed him from a walkie talkie to Jones.

Suddenly, there were radio static crackles…

"Absolutely. Nothing would make me happier." Jones confirmed he heard him.

"Whatever, frank show. Just do it." Principal Morton's voice replied.

"And the universe shall bend before your will." Jones replied.

The vortex was static.

"Charge the lines. Create the vortex, and break the barrier." a voice replied.

A green hand thudded against one of the mirrors from the inside…

(Later at Chamberlain Firehouse…)

The Chamberlain Firehouse to Pratt Street Maine exterior was adorned with "Building for Sale" signs in red letters. The windows were whitewashed…

A real estate woman, the name of Beth to Kristen Wiig, inside was talking, she told Sue and Tommy.

"There's office space, sleeping quarters and showers...and there's a full kitchen." Beth replied.

Sue and Tommy looked around the garage bay.

"It just seems a little pricey for a unique fixer-upper opportunity, that's all. What do you think, Sue?" Tommy asked in concern, as Sue grazed her boyfriend's right arm and walked.

"I think this building should be condemned. There's metal fatigue in all the load-bearing members. The wiring was substandard. It's inadequate for their power needs. And the neighborhood was like a demilitarized zone." Sue replied.

Sue stepped by a locker covered in cobwebs, George called out to them from upstairs…

"Hey," George replied, they looked up at him. "does this pole still work?"

George slid down the fire pole.

"Wow," George replied, as he turned to them. "this place was great. When can we move in? You gotta try this pole. I'm gonna get my stuff."

Sue looked up, George ran up the stairs to get his stuff and paused, Beth turned to Sue and Tommy with a smile.

"Hey, we should stay here tonight, sleep here. You know, to try it out. Tell our parents, okay." George replied, as he continued upstairs.

"Right." Tommy replied.

"Good." Sue replied.

Tommy looked at Sue slowly shook her head 'no' as Beth took some steps closer to them. As Tommy turned to Beth.

"Beth, I think we'll take it." Tommy replied.

"Good." Beth replied, as she pleased and nodded yes.

(Meanwhile…)

Carrie walked, turned her head, and paused and she watched a commercial on Plasma TV's… Sue, Tommy & George stood side to side with each other outside Chamberlain Firehouse… They wore blue lab coats. Sue held the camcorder. Tommy wore the Ghost Sniffer and pointed it at the camera. George had on his stethoscope and PC-4 calculator.

"Are you troubled by strange noises in the middle of the night?" Tommy asked in concern, as he stepped back to his mark on TV.

George stepped forward to his mark. "Do you experience feelings of dread in your basement or attic?" He asked in concern, he stepped back to his original mark on TV.

Sue stepped forward on TV. "Have you or any of your family ever seen a spook, specter or ghost?"

"If the answer is yes, then don't wait another minute. Pick up your phone and call the professionals." Tommy replied on TV.

"Ghostbusters." Sue, Tommy & George replied.

The note flashed on the screen 'Ghostbusters 555-2368'.

"Our courteous and efficient staff is on call twenty-four hours a day...to serve all your supernatural elimination needs." Tommy replied on TV.

Sue, Tommy & George instantly by the door.

"We're ready to believe you." Sue, Tommy & George replied, as they smiled and pointed at the camera.

"Ghostbusters." Carrie replied, as she turned her head. "I'm talking with them. I found the phone. I will talk to Miss Desjardin. I'm coming."

As Carrie walked around and went to the Telephone Booth. Sue, Tommy & George smiled and still pointed at the camera to Ghostbusters 555-2368…

(Later at Snell's Residence…)

At Sue's room, she got her bags & laptop computer. As Sue went downstairs to the living room, she walked out of her home to put the bags in her Silver Volvo Hatchback car…

"Hey Sue." a voice came.

Sue turned her head to her younger sister: Sierra came here.

"Yeah, Sierra." Sue replied.

"I saw you, Tommy and George on the TV." Sierra replied.

"I know." Sue replied.

Sue into her car.

"Go Ghostbusters." Sierra replied, with a smile.

"Yeah. See ya, Sierra." Sue replied, with a smile.

"See ya, Sue." Sierra replied.

Sue went to the Chamberlain Firehouse… Sue in her car in the street, she turns to the road.

(Meanwhile…)

Carrie found the Telephone Booth, she walked and thought about the Telephone Booth. As Carrie buttons to zero the phone rings. She then picked up a phone and called the Operator.

"Hello." Operator replied.

"Hello. This is Carrie White." Carrie replied.

"Can I help you, Miss White?" Operator asked in concern.

"I'll talk to my gym teacher Miss Rita Desjardin, please." Carrie replied.

"Sure. I got it. Where?" Operator asked in concern.

"Thomas Ewen High School." Carrie replied.

"Okay, good thing. Thank you for the call." Operator replied.

"You're welcome. Thank you." Carrie replied.

"You're welcome." Operator replied.

Carrie holds on the phone to wait for Miss Desjardin. She then picked up a phone and called Miss Desjardin, the head educator at Ewen High School.

(Later at Miss Desjardin's office…)

Miss Desjardin in her office, she walked and took the door closed… There was a phone ringing… Miss Desjardin turned her head to her phone, she walked & took her phone on the desk.

"Hello." Miss Desjardin replied.

"Hi Miss Desjardin, it's me." Carrie's voice replied on the phone.

"Carrie? Where are you?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern.

"I'm in the Telephone Booth." Carrie replied.

"Are you all right?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Carrie replied.

"You're going to my house." Miss Desjardin replied.

"No, I'm not going to your house." Carrie replied.

"Why not?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern.

"I saw it on TV." Carrie replied.

"Who?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern.

"It's them. You saw the TV, please." Carrie replied.

"Sure, held on." Miss Desjardin replied, as she took media television and turned on the Plasma TV.

Miss Desjardin looked at the TV to Sue, Tommy & George.

"We're ready to believe you." Sue, Tommy & George replied on the TV.

Sue, Tommy & George smiled and pointed at the camera to Ghostbusters 555-2368.

"That's Sue, Tommy and George? Wait, Ghostbusters?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern.

"Yes, they're called Ghostbusters." Carrie replied.

"Hmm, that's weird." Miss Desjardin replied.

"I want to talk to Ghostbusters. I'm going to the firehouse. I'm staying with them at the firehouse. Please, Miss Desjardin." Carrie replied.

Miss Desjardin sighs and nodded yes.

"Okay Carrie, you're staying at the firehouse. You talk to them. You did understand." Miss Desjardin replied.

"Yes. Understand." Carrie replied, as she nodded yes.

"Good. Tell you, okay?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern.

"Yes. Bye Miss Desjardin." Carrie replied.

"Bye Carrie." Miss Desjardin replied, before hanging up. Once the call is terminated, Carrie is out of the Telephone Booth. Carrie going to the Chamberlain Firehouse…

(Later at Chamberlain Firehouse…)

Renovations were in full swing at Chamberlain Firehouse. Tommy supervised Ethan and watched him put up a sign that read "GHOSTBUSTERS" in small typeface.

"You don't think it's too subtle?" Tommy asked in concern.

Ethan turned his head to Tommy.

"You don't think people are gonna drive down and not see the sign?" Tommy asked in concern.

Ethan shook his head. A worker walked across with wood. Another came down the ladder across from Ethan… Tommy turned his head to his girlfriend's Silver Volvo Hatchback car and drove up to the Chamberlain Firehouse. Tommy tried to peer inside and yelled at the driver.

"You can't park that here!" Tommy yelled.

As Sue got out of her car.

"Everybody can relax, sorry, I'm late. Needs some suspension work and shocks and brakes, brake pads, linings, steering box, transmission, rear end." Sue replied.

"How much?" Tommy asked in concern.

"Only 4800. Maybe new rings, also mufflers, a little wiring." Sue replied.

"Yeah, good thinking, babe." Tommy replied.
