Angel: This is the episode that starts with both the new opening and ending for the season. However, I am not writing both of them because the chapter is long enough as it is with only the opening here. So the ending's gonna be in the next chapter. And I will also do this for season 3, since season two only had one opening and ending.
Kinro placed his foot on Magma's weapon, shocking his opponent. "I'm so grateful...for science," Kinro spoke up, one of the lens sparkling. "For Suika, Senku, and Sumi!" Suika looked determined while Senku was smirking, Sumi smiling happily. Kinro then sent multiple blows to Magma. He pulled back and with a yell, hit Magma right in the face with the weapon. He flew backwards and landed roughly on the ground. Sumi beamed while clapping for him.
"He did it!" She cheered happily at him.
"Learn this lesson, Magma," Kinro put his spear into the ground, now no longer letting his fuzzy sickness hold him back. In fact...he was glad to be wearing the watermelon mask now. If it wasn't for his friends, he wouldn't have been able to do this at all. "If I'd had this gift of science before...had this vision...I would've surpassed you long ago!"
Magma was still kneeling on the ground as Kinro stood in front of him. "Can you believe it?'' Ganen asked in shock and awe. "Kinro's got Magma on the ground!"
The man was clutching his stomach, breathing heavily while looking up at his opponent. "Get up, Magma!" Mantle called out to him, but the man didn't have a reaction to this.
"That was really amazing, Kinro!" Suika exclaimed with a big grin on her face. "But when you wear my watermelon mask like that, you look pretty silly!" Chrome and Senku popped up behind her, nodding their heads in agreement with blank faces.
Sumi shook her head at them and then placed a hand on Suika's head. The little girl looked up at the black-haired scientist. "Yeah, but if it wasn't for your incredible aim, he wouldn't have won. So he has you to thank for it, right? You should be proud of yourself, Suika."
Suika slowly beamed up at the woman, nodding. "Hooray!" Ginro cheered while hopping around in excitement and pumping his fists. "Magma's all worn out! Kinro's definitely gonna win this round for us!"
"Whoohoo!" Kaseki cheered next to him. "That means we are on our way to the ultimate victory!"
Sumi nodded with a big smile, a hand on her hip. "The Kingdom of Science has won this one."
Chrome's eyes glimmered happily from the news. "We're definitely gonna get that medicine to Ruri now!"
Magma narrowed his eyes at Kinro from the ground. "I guess that watermelon mask is your sorcery? That's against the rules, isn't it?" He pointed out and Kinro didn't have a reaction to this at first. He hadn't considered that...
"Possibly. Though it may be after the fact, we'll still have to confirm it's allowed," He stated as he couldn't accept his win unless the watermelon mask was approved. That was just how he felt otherwise it wouldn't feel right to him.
"I can't move anymore..." Magma looked up helplessly with a small smile. "Can barely speak...this match is over. Ask old Jasper, the referee. If he says that it's allowed, I'll take my loss to you like a man..." He then gave a semi-big smile.
Suika smiled softly as she looked on, her eyes sparkling a little. "I can't really hear what they're saying over there. But Magma looks so kind and gentle all of a sudden, doesn't he?"
Senku and Sumi looked on, as they couldn't share the same sentiment as her. But they weren't going to tell her that since she wanted to be optimistic. And Sumi would've felt the same if a, Magma didn't try to kill Gen already. And b, if he and Mantle weren't such creeps sometimes. So she highly doubted that Magma would be just willing to take a loss like this...he was up to something. And she didn't like it at all.
"Referee," Kinro turned around to Jasper, walking towards him. "It's quite clear that Suika threw this mask into the ring in order to help me. I knew that yet I still put it on. Does this nullify my victory? The rules are the rules."
Chrome sighed at him doing this. "Come on, man. If it's gonna cost you the win, just keep your damn mouth shut."
"Kinro has to follow the rules. He just can't help it," Ginro defended with his eyes closed.
Jasper stared at Kinro while thinking about it. He then looked towards the ground, closing his eyes. "You didn't use the item as a weapon during the match. It's merely an article of clothing." If he had used it as a weapon, then he'd be disqualified since no outside weapons were allowed during the Grand Bout. "There, I see no issue-" He looked behind Kinro and let out a shout. Kinro's eyes widened as he heard a yell behind him. Magma jumped from behind with his weapon raised, a big grin on his face. With all of his strength, he struck at Kinro, and the watermelon mask shattered.
Things flashed, including science formulas, before a split screen appeared, revealing a smirk from Senku on the left. On the right, Sumi had a sly smile before stone broke to reveal Dr. Stone in space.
(Why does the sky look blue?)
Senku was walking towards the left, being turned to reveal Sumi with her eyes closed as she walked in the opposite direction.
(The memory of my yellow cry)
Then she was turned again to reveal Chrome, who looked up with a smirk. Sumi and Senku were walking behind him on opposite sides.
(When I was born is now silent)
The date of when Sumi and Senku woke up appeared from the tree before Gen's eye opened.
(The blue and yellow mix together)
He was in front of a purple sky, his hair blowing in the wind. He then looked up with a small smile, leaves flowing by.
(Adding a flower to the resulting green)
Kohaku was on the left while Ruri was on the right, standing in front of blue.
(As the flower needs water, I need my dream)
The two held up flowers, Kohaku having a red flower while Ruri had a flower crown. Suika jumped up with a smile, holding sunflowers in her hands. Senku then stared up ahead with a soft look in front of a telescope. He held out cotton candy and Sumi took it from him. Two pairs of legs were squishing grapes and then Homura lifted up her head from trying cotton candy. A bowl of ramen then appeared.
(Add to zero, multiply by now)
Yuzuriha and Taiju were looking up ahead at a symbol as the sun set. Their clothes both blew in the wind.
(Like the red of running blood)
(Draw a line, break the shell)
Kinro and Ginro were sitting on top of a rock, looking around.
(In the pattern of the blooming flower)
Kinro put on his glasses, and when Ginro looked back at him, he recoiled back in shock.
(Hold on to consciousness, pick up the brush)
Magma grinned widely while punching his fists against his palm.
(And take back life)
Kokuyo appeared from behind him.
(Let's set out toward an unseen rule)
A katana was being made, held by Kaseki.
(To find the equality)
Senku and Sumi were leaning against walls of circuit boards. Sumi was on the left, her eyes closed while her hands were behind her back, her hair flowing to the side. A record spun around, along with gears and a waterwheel. Tungsten glowed in Senku's hand and a wing appeared.
(Please let this pure beginning)
In the zooming forest, Kinro swung his katana blade, followed by Ginro. Suika then jumped in from the left.
(The beginning that becomes an impulse)
From a cliff, Kohaku jumped onto it and then leaped off, spinning around.
(Be spread with my life force in the primary colors)
On top of a cliff she passed, Tsukasa and Hyoga were standing side by side. Hyoga had his spear at an angle. Tsukasa's eye then widened.
(Add the past to the blank slate age)
A split screen showed Senku's right on the left, and Sumi's left eye on the right. They then both closed their eyes.
(Built it up so everyone will notice)
Senku had his hands folded while sitting at a classroom desk, wearing a lab coat. He smirked as formulas started flying in front of him. Sumi was sitting on the desk Senku was at, in front to the right, a small smile on her face with her eyes closed. She was also wearing a lab coat like him.
(Turn black and erase it with the present)
Gen and Chrome looked at all of the formulas spinning around them with smiles.
(After we stack it higher, where to next?)
Gen, Suika, Kohaku, Kinro, and Ginro were admiring a Christmas tree in lights.
(If our tomorrow has color)
Snow was falling around them.
(Let's paint it)
In the graveyard, Sumi and Senku stood side by side at the top, violet flowers behind them everywhere. Then it changed to Lillian in front of a crowd.
(So that we can see it)
Both of them held hands as they pumped their joined hands in front of the moon.
Magma laughed once he had broken the mask. "I knew you couldn't let it go without asking for permission! You're too much of a rule lover and do-gooder to just take the win! Right, Kinro?" He bragged as Kinro was on the ground, blood coming from the side of his head.
Jasper didn't say anything, though he did not look pleased with what just happened. "Winner, Magma!" He announced to the crowd. Loud cries broke out as people cheered. The only ones not doing so were from the Kingdom of Science as it wasn't fair. He knew Kinro would check up on it, and only acted all innocent and humble just to guarantee the win.
"Damn him!" Chrome punched his hand with his fist. "That sneaky bastard!"
"Such despicable behavior," Sumi glared at Magma with a clenched fist.
"Kinro!" Ginro called out while rushing over to his brother in concern. Jasper was carrying him over to the group. "Kinro, talk to me!"
He struggled to open his eyes, wincing while looking up. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay!" Ginro cried out with tears falling from his eyes. "You're alive!"
Senku let out a small chuckle, and Sumi glanced up at him. "That's just how it goes. We're approaching this as a team. So as long as somebody beats Magma, we win," He stated and she turned back to their main obstacles with a glare.
"Both of them disgust me, but we have to keep working together if we wanna beat them. He had to strike down Kinro when he could've just accepted his loss like a man," Sumi then sighed and looked towards Kinro. She walked up to him, Jasper blinking at her. She removed one of her belt's pouches to place over Kinro's body. "Don't worry, Ginro, he'll be fine. Have someone rub this over his wounds once he reaches his recovery area. Once the Grand Bout is over, I'll check up on him. I trust you'll bring him somewhere safe?"
Jasper blinked at her offer as she stared at him seriously. He could tell that, despite her being an outsider, that she knew what she was talking about. And that she cared for her friends. He closed his eyes and nodded at her silently.
"Thank you," She nodded back and stepped back to let Jasper hand Kinro over to someone else.
"Kinro lost, but it looks like he dealt plenty of damage to him," Senku spoke up as Magma was having some water. "That's what matters most. And he'll recover smoothly thanks to our medic," He patted Sumi on the head and she gave a light gasp from his praise. He then smirked as he started messing up her hair with his hands.
"Ah, Sen, knock it off!" She waved his hands away, blushing as she started to adjust it. "You're so mean sometimes..."
"Round two, Mantle and Chrome, come forth," Jasper announced, holding up a hand.
"Oh, it's my turn?" Chrome pointed to himself, in a bit of a panic.
"Did you forget that you signed up?" Sumi sweat dropped at him.
Senku glanced over to him, frowning. "I'm more worried about the match after this one," Mantle looked a bit smug while looking at his opponent. "If Kohaku isn't back before the end of your fight, she'll be disqualified." After all, the match right after Mantle and Chrome was between her and Senku. If she made it back, he'd be throwing in the towel immediately. But if not, then their chances at success would be low. If Magma had to face Ginro, Chrome, or Senku...it wouldn't be easy fighting him. The only other possibility would be Sumi, though Senku had faith in her if she were the one facing the muscular blond. He'd just have to leave it up to chance at this point.
"Yeah, I know," Chrome murmured to the duo.
"Considering what Magma did, you've gotta stall for time, Chrome," Sumi whispered to the brunet, rubbing a temple in worry. "We don't know where she is right now, but hopefully she's on her way back..."
Suika blinked in confusion at their conversation, just now noticing that Kohaku still was nowhere to be found. "Where is Kohaku? Did she run off somewhere or something?"
"Yeah, actually," Ginro popped in next to her. "She went down to the river earlier to try and save you."
"Huh?!" Suika whipped around to him in alarm. "I have to go and find her!" She ran towards the bridge. Before she could even make it, though, she tripped and fell to the ground. Sumi turned around and ran over to her.
"Stay right here. You need glasses, remember?" Senku sighed a little with his arms crossed, since Suika's mask was broken beyond repair. Therefore, she wouldn't get far and could possibly get hurt even trying to look for Kohaku. He then looked towards Mantle and Chrome, a little nervous. "It's too late anyway. All we can do is wait."
"Don't worry, Suika," Sumi helped up the little girl. "We need to keep our faith in her instead of worrying where she is right now," She saw the blonde girl frowning deeply. Smiling, Sumi removed her bow from her hair, bending down to her. "Hey, can you hold onto this for me?" Suika gasped a little as the woman tied it to the right side of Suika's hair, earning a happy smile from how she looked. "There. Now let's watch Chrome and Mantle," She ushered Suika forward to stand next to Senku. He glanced down at the two, giving a small smile to himself knowingly. He was glad he had his science partner around to encourage the Kingdom of Science when needed.
The two opponents stared each other down. I have to buy as much time as I possibly can. Kohaku was panting while standing in front of the tied tree Suika was at. She glanced back towards the village, knowing that the little girl broke free and had to have returned. Now she just needed to get back in time...
The crowd cheered...but all that was really happening was Chrome and Mantle hitting their weapons rapidly. Almost in a child-like way.
"After watching that last battle between Kinro and Magma..." A villager started off while sweat dropping.
"This is like two kids fighting!" A blond villager added in.
"Hang in there, you guys!" Shovel smiled while waving her hands.
"...You know, considering that the both of them lack in upper body strength, I was kinda expecting this..." Sumi sweat dropped with a nervous smile. "Not that I'm not supporting Chrome, but this match is pretty easy to guess who'd win..."
"Heh heh heh," Senku smirked at the woman. "Yeah. But he's gotta keep it up until Kohaku gets here."
"He can pull that off. His stamina is normal and so is Mantle's. But Chrome's determination will keep him going," She smiled a little, glancing back at the bridge. Although she was still holding out hope Kohaku was near the village by now.
Magma just watched from the sidelines with a small smirk. "Chrome's a joke," He mocked at the brunet. "He's not gonna give me any problem at all. I'll kill him if he makes it far enough to face me." He saw something from the corner of his eye, gasping in shock at what he saw in the distance. His eyes widened as he could see Kohaku. She was swinging from tree branches to make her way back to the village.
Kohaku!
"Hey, Mantle!" His right-hand man flinched from his name being called. He immediately stopped fighting and turned around. Magma then sliced a finger across his neck, sticking out his tongue. Lose. Right now!
'Yeah!" Mantle understood what he was being signaled to do.
"Get your head in the fight, man!" Chrome shouted, only for his eyes to widen in shock to see Mantle falling backwards on purpose. He held both arms in the air, dropping his weapons.
"Mercy, mercy!"
"Winner, Chrome," Jasper declared, as there were only six competitors left to continue in the Grand Bout. Villagers cheered, but Chrome was not happy by the sudden victory at all. Kohaku ran across the bridge as he sweated.
"This is real bad..."
"She's still not here," Sumi bit her lip in concern. However, there was nothing they could do about it.
"Now it's time to begin today's third match," Jasper stated as Kohaku panted...but it was too late. "Due to Kohaku's absence, winner: Senku." The villagers murmured as Sumi gasped, hanging her head a little with her eyes closed.
"No..." She murmured at this, gritting her teeth in anger. She knew Mantle did this on purpose since Kohaku was almost here. And for once in her life, she was really pissed off about the whole thing. Now there was only one person that could beat Magma...but could she really do it?
Suika started to cry, squeezing her eyes shut. "She didn't make it back in time!" Sumi snapped out of it hearing her be upset. She frowned at the little girl, bending down to try and assure her.
"Suika!" Kohaku shouted, getting their attention. Everyone turned to her as she panted while running down the bridge.
"Kohaku!" Suika cried out to the woman.
"Damn it!" Chrome said in frustration as she stopped in front of him. "You just barely missed it!" She fell to the ground in exhaustion. Suika ran over to her.
"I'm so sorry! Mantle caught me and-"
"Thank goodness!" Kohaku interrupted in relief, reaching out and pulling Suika into a hug. She was crying with a smile on her face, as she wasn't angry at the little girl at all. She was just glad that Suika was okay and not dead. "I'm so happy he was lying. I was afraid that we'd lost you forever. But you're okay!"
"This is all my fault," Suika murmured sadly at the blonde. "You lost the fight cause of me. I'm sorry...I didn't mean for this to happen." Sumi stared at the two, trying not to cry herself at how much Suika was blaming herself for this.
"Nothing we can do about that," Kohaku attempted to reassure her. "Besides, you didn't do anything wrong so it's not your fault." Suika closed her eyes, embracing Kohaku back. Sumi wiped away her stray tears, smiling at the two. Senku gave a fond smile to himself as he had overheard.
"Doesn't really seem like we need to keep going, does it?" A villager commented while Mantle and Magma looked proud of themselves.
"Nope. The priestess has a husband, and we have a new chief. It's Magma!"
Magma grinned widely hearing this and looked towards Ruri. His eyes sparkled while blowing a kiss at her. "Be happy, sweet Ruri. For as of today, you are Magma's woman!" Ruri looked pale while Suika and Kohaku were throwing up in rainbow color. Sumi grimaced from their reactions, looking away.
"Ew. I really hope we can turn things around with the next two matches so that I don't have to see that for the rest of my life..." Sumi murmured in dismay, her shoulders dropping.
Senku gave a frown as his eyes were closed. "Kohaku was our best chance at ultimate victory. But now we're left with just two fighters from the Kingdom of Science," He looked up at the blond and Sumi seriously. "Bodyguard Ginro, Sumi, you two are the only hope we've got!"
"This is a lot of pressure that you're giving out, I'll admit..." Sumi said nervously while standing next to him. She then pumped a fist, getting a little fired up. "But I'll do my best!"
"...Bodyguard Ginro..." He said slowly with his back facing his friends. Chrome and Kohaku gave him a deadpanned look. Chrome leaned in towards the blonde.
"Do you really think he's got a shot against Magma?"
"To put it nicely, it's gonna be tough," She said in a blunt manner before a shine was near her eyes. "As for Sumi, it's gonna be a close one."
"Heh heh...you said it best yourself, Senku, Sumi!" Ginro said confidently while looking across the arena. "We're gonna game the hell out of this Grand Bout to work in our favor! Which means the strongest isn't necessarily gonna win!"
"That wasn't what I said..." Sumi mumbled while looking away.
He then turned around to them, his cheeks big like a squirrel. "So we gotta use everything that we have! I'm sure you noticed I've been chewing on something. But did anybody wonder what it is?" Kohaku popped up next to him nervously.
"I think I know what it is..."
"It's the raw ingredients from Senku and Sumi's power up drink!" Chrome exclaimed in realization.
"Oh yeah," Sumi popped up next on the upper right. "The one with the boost in caffeine that you ended up eating all of...wait a minute, is that even safe?!" Her eyes bulged out as she realized this.
"And you've really just kept that in your cheeks like a squirrel this whole time?" Senku asked a bit nervously.
"I was saving it for when my match was gonna start!" Ginro explained, his voice still muffled. Sumi let out a breath at this with closed eyes, since the effects would not be great on him...
"Ginro! Argo! Come forth!" Jasper announced the match. Argo was a tall man, with muscles rivaling Magma almost, though wasn't as strong as he was. Ginro chuckled lowly while pressing his cheeks together to chew on the leaf.
"Senku and Sumi were able to do some crazy stuff with their science skills! I learned that lesson when we went to get that dangerous acid...they were making that special power up drink for us earlier," He then swallowed the ingredients, his eye turning green as the effects were kicking in. "I bet the raw stuff is even more effective!"
"You idiot!" Chrome exclaimed while reaching out a hand. "You're just gonna end up getting the runs, man!"
Senku placed a finger over his lips behind him. He then gave a mischievous grin. "Hush. At this point he's better off not knowing!"
"He'll learn soon anyway..." Sumi shook her head slowly. "Definitely need to be careful from now on of when we'd make more of that stuff..."
Ginro was thinking that he was a buffer man full of energy. "Let's go. Let's go. Let's go, now!" However, in reality, he was swaying back and forth, barely able to stand. Argo stared at him while sweat dropping, wondering what was going on with him.
"If he believes something, he'll ignore all the facts," Kohaku stated, not sure how to feel. "But then again, I already knew that."
Senku let out an amused chuckle, giving a small smirk. "It just might work for us," Sumi blinked while turning to him. "We're gaming the Grand Bout anyway we can. Maybe that shot of overconfidence is all this little chicken needs."
Sumi giggled a bit from the nickname. "Little Chicken Ginro, huh? He does kinda look like one, to be honest. Although I definitely wouldn't say that to his face, regardless of how funny he might react to that."
"Match four! Begin!"
Ginro lunged forward to Argo, who looked at him wide-eyed. This kid is nuts! Ginro then gave him a thrust to the stomach with his weapon. Argo didn't have time to strike back, as Ginro gave him multiple blows without even stopping to take a breath. His attacks were similar to Kinro on Magma, actually. Argo tried his best to block them off as quick as he could. Ginro gave a confident chuckle at him.
"Man, he's really going in for the kill!" A villager commented while Ganen was eating.
"Ginro's on fire!" He exclaimed with his mouth full.
Kinro had arrived back at this point, a bandage around his head thanks to Sumi. He stared at his brother with wide eyes in shock. Suika was squinting her eyes, unable to actually see the fight. "He really believes he's gotten strong! Just because he ate all those herbs?"
"It's his first taste of caffeine, so the guy's wired out of his mind," Senku gave a small grin. "Heh heh, his delusion makes him fearless. But it seems to be working out all right."
"Yeah, for now," Sumi sweated a little. "But eventually, he will wear himself out before he's back to normal. I'd say he has until the end of the match before the caffeine really stops taking an effect and affect his bladder," She shrugged a little before pumping a fist. "You've got this, Ginro! ...Hopefully."
"You're going down!" Argo attacked rapidly as well, to the shock of the Kingdom of Science. A dust cloud appeared around the two opponents, causing them unable to see what was going on. Once it settled, Argo was left with a few scratch marks on his chest. Ginro meanwhile, let out a laugh from the smoke while standing confidently.
"I barely even felt that!" Argo gasped while looking at the blond guard, who thought he wasn't harmed at all. "I have something that you just don't. And that's the mind to trust in the power of science!"
"Holy crap, Ginro!" Ganen exclaimed nearby Chrome and a happy villager.
"This is bad!" Chrome piped up in front of them.
Rubby, Sapphire, and Garnet all squealed at him...
But that was all in his head again. Ginro actually had a bloody, swollen face as blood was dripping from his nose and mouth. His right eye was also shut, having other bruises as well. "And that's the mind to trust in the power of science..." He mumbled, to the horror of everyone.
"Holy crap, Ginro," Ganen murmured with white eyes.
"This is bad..." Chrome said in worry for him. The three sisters were all screaming in horror at him. Despite this, Ginro began approaching Argo. He backed away from the blond.
"What in the hell? Why won't you just fall?" He yelped as he was towards the edge of the arena's cliff, unable to move. He started panicking as his eyes went white. Ginro approached him and then lightly poked him so that he'd fall off the cliff. He screamed while heading for the water, giving Ginro the win.
"Winner, Ginro!" Jasper announced as his friends looked at him happily, and they cheered. He was basking in the glory, and suddenly, his stomach rumbled. His legs shook while he hugged his stomach, and he couldn't hold it anymore. He screamed as he ran away from the arena, speeding past a shocked Kinro and Chrome.
"Where are you going, Ginro?" Kinro called out in confusion since there wasn't even a warning or anything.
"He probably has a bad case of the squirts..." Suika guessed while still squinting from between him and Chrome.
"Yup," Chrome had a deadpanned look. "He really did eat a lot of that stuff..."
"H-He'll be fine in a few minutes after airing himself out..." Sumi laughed nervously while rubbing the back of her neck. Ginro released his gas a few seconds later, lying down on the rock floor. His pants were pulled down as he looked dead. His soul was flying from his mouth. Sumi yelped in alarm from his pants being down and Senku placed his arm in front of her face. "Nope, not looking at that!" Sumi turned around in embarrassment, covering her eyes with her wrist. "Someone else check on him."
"Poor guy's lookin' all beat up and withered..." Suika said with tears rolling down her face, feeling bad for him.
"Not good...I don't think he has any more rounds left in him..." Kinro mumbled from behind, frowning a little. Sumi wouldn't be able to tell if he even had more energy since she refused to look at his parts showing. Ironic since she had medical experience and would have to deal with that at some point. But for now, it still made her uncomfortable.
"We still have one more person from our Kingdom of Science," Senku smirked towards Sumi, even though she couldn't see it. They all turned to her as she dropped her wrist, a hand on her hip. She smirked while looking over her shoulder at him. "Luckily, they saved our Sumi for last. Now it's finally time to see her in action."
"Sumire and Carbo, step forward," Jasper waved a hand.
"Looks like it's my turn," Sumi stepped past everyone, but stopped near Suika, bending down to her. "If you want, I'll let you wear this later, but I'm gonna need it back," She stated, watching the little girl reach out to her blonde hair to remove it.
"You know, come to think of it, I've never seen Sumi actually fight," Chrome commented, glancing to Senku curiously. He had seen her and Kohaku spar at least once, but that was only defensive training, not offensive. "You said she used to train almost every single night the two of you were camping together, right?"
"That's right. Although if I have to face her, I'm throwing our match. She'd wipe the floor with me in seconds," Senku chuckled while as Sumi stepped forward, she tied her hair into a low bun with the ribbon. Kohaku stared at the woman, wondering if she would really fight Senku. Already she didn't kill Tsukasa, so she had a feeling that she wouldn't actually hurt her friend.
"Ha! The outsider sorceress I can take down in no time," Carbo bragged a little while looking at her; he was the blond villager that was with Magma and Mantle during the storm. Sumi held her weapon close to her while staring at him. "Or better yet I can watch her fail."
"Match five! Begin!"
Sumi closed her eyes as he came running forward, attacking first. She spun around her staff once he got closer, thrusting it forward to hit him in the chin. Carbo looked at her in shock as she gave a small smirk, not unlike Senku's. She extended a fist upwards to get him in the gut. He then flew backwards right onto the ground. Everyone looked at her in shock as she opened her eyes with a confident smile. The villager rushed towards her, but she ducked her head as he attacked. She then stood up, using her elbow to both hit him in the stomach and face in quick succession. He reached out to grab her weapon, but she swung her head down at an angle, his fist missing it by just a few inches. She then grabbed his wrist using her weapon while still bent over, the stick above his wrist. He gasped down at her in shock.
What?! How is she-?
Sumi stood up and spun the weapon around, twisting his body so that he was now standing with his back to her. She stood behind him as his arm was now over his shoulder, his fist positioned at her waist thanks to her hold on him. She placed her weapon into the ground, lifting up her feet with ease. She spun at an angle above the ground to kick him. He slid backwards a bit as people stared in amazement. She raced towards him and then moved her weapon underneath his arm to toss him across the arena. He slid to a stop on the ground.
"I've never seen anyone do this before!" Kinro blinked in awe, the crowd murmuring as they watched.
"How did she do that?" Ganen murmured in awe.
"She's so quick with her reflexes!"
"There's no way she's doing all that on her own..." Magma narrowed his eyes at her.
"Wow! I guess Kohaku's training really did pay off!" Chrome exclaimed while Senku stood there with his eyes wide, unable to look away. He had never seen Sumi fight like this before. The way she reacted, how she was using her weapon no one else had...how could someone as cheerful as her take a 180 to fight like that? Not even when they were camping together for 3 months did he ever see anything like this since she never needed to fight then...
Carbo stood up to see her charging forward and he caught her weapon in time. He laughed while pulling her towards him hard. She landed a few feet away from him, the two face to face. "Not so tough anymore, are you?"
She flung around swiftly so that the handle was back in her hands. He gasped as she whipped around again to fling him up by throwing her arms to the side. He spun in the air in front of her, the long end of her weapon facing upwards.
"I've never seen anything like this!" Kaseki exclaimed in awe while Chrome had his mouth open in awe. "Using her weapon when it was at a disadvantage to gain the upper hand!"
She then spun her arms around to hang the lower end to her opponent's back. Once she faced him, she wiggled her arms around to send him towards her with a simple small turn of her weapon. Then the woman spun backwards so that her knee hit him in the stomach. Once he was sent back flying upwards, she jumped up after him. He looked terrified for himself while she simply winked. Everyone gasped at this while looking up towards the sky.
"You might wanna hold onto this," She said calmly as she moved her weapon so that he was holding onto the end. She then lifted him above her head, spinning him around. She let out a yell as she did a 180 turn kick to send him back down onto the hard rocks. Everyone stared at the man in shock as his eyes swirled around. Once Sumi landed on her feet, she did a little twirl to release her weapon from his grasp. She stopped slowly, placing a hand on her hip as the weapon was over her right shoulder.
"Look at that. I took you down without even a scratch," She looked at her fingernails casually and blowing her bang away from her face. "And all from an outsider I might add. Thank you, Kohaku," She said the last part in a smug way.
"Winner, Sumire!" Jasper gestured to her, his eyes white in shock.
"She won!" Suika shouted as almost everyone ran up to surround the black-haired woman. She blinked from the bunch of questions they were throwing at her. Magma was dumbfounded at the woman, his eyes shaking while looking at her from the sidelines.
"...Now I have two people to kill," He narrowed his eyes at Sumi. "Didn't think a sorceress like her could do that."
"Can you teach me how to do that?"
"That was incredible!"
"Please be my teacher!"
Senku was standing behind all of them next to Chrome. He could tell which one was her immediately, though. She looked happy answering all their questions, but a little overwhelmed as well.
"Whoa...that was so bad!" Chrome's eyes shined at her. "So fast and fluid!"
"Heh," Senku finally let out a chuckle from her getting all this attention as she glanced behind her. The villager she defeated looked upset for his loss. She stared at him before slowly walking away from the crowd, confusing them. I don't know what it is, Sumi...
Carbo looked up in confusion to see her offering both her hand and a smile. "You fought greatly in this Bout. I'm sure by next year, you'll have trained even harder."
But up until now... Senku continued off in thought while watching.
He took Sumi's hand and she helped him up. She then dusted him off, almost all the villagers smiling behind her. She congratulated him and he bowed to her nervously, mainly because he respected both her fighting skills and what she did. Sumi then started to check over him, making him blush.
Ohhhh...! He blushed deeply while stiffening from her hands. She's so pretty...and so kind to me!
I never realized just how rare you are as a person... Senku finished off as she turned around towards the villagers with a beaming smile. And Senku treasured looking at it.
"Wow, Sumi, that was something else!" Kaseki commented as she walked back to her friends. She was in the process of untying her hair. "All of that was from your training?"
"Sure was! I used to train before Sen and I even found the village. So I just combined that and the training with Kohaku," She explained to the craftsman, Kohaku smiling proudly at her with her arms crossed.
"Ha. I never had any doubt. If I had the chance to go up against you, we might've tied."
"Remind me to never make you mad..." Ginro laughed nervously at the black-haired woman, as he had been watching from the ground.
"That was incredible, Sumi," Senku said breathlessly and she gasped from the compliment. "I've never seen anyone move like that," He then gave her a smirk. "With fighting like what we all just witnessed, there's a ten billion percent chance we'll get that medicine to Ruri!"
She blushed and then smiled happily at him. "Thank you, Senku..." She spoke up softly at her science partner. The Kingdom of Science then all cheered again while surrounding her, glad that they had her skills on their side.
The drums could be heard again and everyone stared as the next matches were drawn up. Next up would be Magma vs Chrome, then Senku vs Sumi, and then Ginro would face whoever won from that round.
"I realize this probably goes without saying," Senku spoke up while looking at the announcement board. "But if we let Magma make it to the final match, it's game over."
"Ginro's too messed up to fight, and it's no secret that Senku's not any kind of warrior..." Kohaku looked a bit grim, a worried look on her face. Things weren't looking the best for their chances at this point. "And Sumi's chances of facing Magma are slim to none..." She wished that it was Sumi against Magma, and maybe there could've been some hope. "That means..."
"The only way for us to save Ruri, is for me to take down Magma in the next match!" Chrome said with a confident smirk.
"We have faith in you, Chrome. You've gotta find a science way to beat him," Sumi clenched a fist while looking at him.
"Magma! Chrome! Come forward!" Jasper announced and it was now very tense as the two opponents stared down each other. Both of them looked very determined to achieve their own separate goals with this match.
"You realize what's at stake here, Chrome..." Senku spoke up, Ruri watching them from the hut. "If you can take down Magma, you'll be the new village chief. As well as Ruri's husband." He glanced back at the blonde woman.
The younger Chrome smiled down at Ruri in the flower field, promising to cure her.
He stared into Ruri's eyes, also remembering what Sumi had said to him when he asked if they could cure her. He was dead set on winning this match, not only to cure her, but so he could fulfill that promise he made to cure her sickness.
Magma continued to stare down Chrome, determined to beat him in the match...or kill him. "If this was a normal fight, there's no way that he could beat that monster!" Kohaku said in concern, but still believed in her friend since it wasn't just him fighting to win. It was everyone from the Kingdom of Science. "But we're doing this as a team!"
"All we can do now is hope Kinro inflicted enough damage to him in the earlier match," Senku looked on with a frown.
"You got this," Suika had her eyes closed, clasping her hands tight while hoping for the best. "You practiced so hard against that target! I know the gods of battle are watching over you today!"
"You can pull this off, Chrome," Sumi stared at him in determination. "We know you can."
"Semi-final!" Jasper started off. "Magma vs Chrome! Let's begin!"
Chrome immediately attacked first, yelling while aiming for Magma's crotch like he planned. There was a loud smack heard and Ginro sat up.
"So what'd I miss? How's the fight goin'?" He wondered, gasping at the sight up ahead. Chrome had been knocked down by Magma, panting heavily. His right eye was shut, and there was blood coming from his face. Magma stared down at him, with no care at all. He lifted up his weapon and then swung down, hitting Chrome on the lower back. He let out a cry of pain, the villagers watching in a bit of horror.
"This is horrible," Ruby, the woman with pigtails, murmured behind her hands in front of her mouth.
"We all knew that it was gonna end this way," A villager spoke up a bit grimly.
"Obviously," Ganen commented while sweating a little. "Magma's just toying with him at this point."
Magma kept hitting Chrome again and again without mercy. Ginro looked on in worry, letting out a small cry. "Give up and ask for mercy!" He pleaded so that people wouldn't have to see this.
"If Magma keeps beating him, Chrome's gonna die!" Suika cried out with tears in her eyes. Kohaku narrowed her eyes, clenching a fist. Part of her wished that she had made it back in time so that she could've easily beaten Magma...and not have to see her friend go through this. And if outside interference wasn't allowed, she'd definitely be stepping in.
Senku stayed silent, though he was sweating a little. His eyes blazed a little as he glanced at Sumi. She was looking on with her eyes glistening in worry. "Poor Chrome...I wish there was something we could do, distract Magma somehow so he can form a plan!" She frowned deeply and he wished he could do something, but they couldn't.
Then suddenly, a familiar person arrived, and he was looking on from the opposite side of the bridge. "Oh, my...things are looking especially bad, aren't they? Poor little Chrome," He gave a knowing smile.
Magma eventually stopped, looking down at Chrome. He had a wicked grin on his face as he was no doubt enjoying this advantage. "Listen here. Since Ruri's on the line, you and I both know there's no way in hell you're giving up."
"Oh, wow," Chrome gasped in a bit of pain, his lips in a small smirk. "You might actually be a little bit smarter than you look! I always just assumed you had meat for brains," He breathed out and Magma's grin grew wider.
"Well, it's just lit a fire in me!" He then gave a satisfied look. "And until Ruri comes down and begs for me to stop...I'm gonna enjoy breaking every single bone in your pathetic little body!" Sumi gasped sharply from his declaration, now even more disgusted. She bit her cheek while looking angry at him. Seeing her friend going through this was just...gruesome.
Ruri looked down in worry. "Oh, Chrome..." She whispered sadly as her eyes glistened a little.
He knew he had to come up with something or else it'd be all over for them and Ruri. And he couldn't let Magma win, or beat him to death. Chrome lifted up his head, looking across from him and seeing Suika's destroyed watermelon mask. One of the lenses for her glasses was still intact, and that was when he got an idea. Chrome recalled what Sumi said, about using a science way to beat his opponent. He grabbed a fist full of dirt, rolling onto his back.
"Special attack!" He threw the dirt in Magma's face. "Blinding!"
With this window of opportunity of Magma being distracted, he ran over to the watermelon mask. He hunched over it so Magma couldn't take it from him. Once he was done wiping his eyes, he glared towards Chrome angrily.
"Special attack, my ass! You piece of shit!" He snarled angrily while raising his weapon. He then continued to hit Chrome's back, over and over.
Who am I kidding? I never stood a chance against Magma to begin with... Chrome thought to himself while taking hit after hit. He let out a deep breath and stood up, the mask over the end of his weapon. He then pointed the mask at Magma, causing him to step back a little in alarm. But still, I'm Chrome! "I'll use science...to fight!" He declared fiercely at Magma, glaring at him with the one eye since the other was swollen.
The villagers were just confused, as they had no idea what was going on. They murmured in confusion while looking at the two opponents. Kohaku stood next to Senku, with Sumi on his left as they weren't sure what was happening either.
"What the heck is Chrome doing?" She murmured to the two scientists.
"I'm not entirely sure..." Sumi answered, her arms folded underneath her chest. "Maybe it's his strategy, but why?"
Magma stared at the watermelon mask, a bit surprised. But then he snapped out of it a few seconds later, smirking. "Oh, look. If it isn't that pitiful sorcery mask I crushed earlier! What are you planning to do with it now? You can't scare me with that stupid thing!"
Chrome didn't answer as the sun was shining down from the skies. The rays then started to hit through the only lens from the mask. The sky's clear. He remembered Senku pointing a big lens glass at the furnace. I'll start a fire with sunlight and this lens. I'm betting everything on this one move.
Sumi gasped while backing away a bit, Senku's eyes wide as they both realized Chrome's plan. "No way...is he trying to...?" Sumi faltered in shock while staring at them.
"He's got the wrong idea!" Senku exclaimed, keeping his eyes on their friend. Kohaku and Suika turned to the duo in confusion. "He's setting a fire, using the lens in that mask, and Magma's dark clothes as fuel. At least, that's his intention...the magnifying glass Sumi and I used to start a fire is convex, which focuses light. Meanwhile, glasses are concave, so they spread light."
"Okay, so what does that mean?" Kohaku asked him in confusion.
"It means there's a ten billion percent chance Suika's glasses won't start a fire," He informed, Suika and Kohaku gasping a little.
"A concave lens is shaped inward, it's more hollowed out because light caves into it," Sumi frowned while she continued explaining. "They spread light rays out before reaching your eyes. Meanwhile, a convex lens goes outward, and is more curved. There, it converges light and is able to point at a specific direction...which means Chrome's plan falls flat on his face..." She frowned deeply at this.
Chrome wasn't backing down, though, holding his position. I'm going to save Ruri! I'm going to win and turn this village into a Kingdom of Science! Using the lens Senku and Sumi made and my tenacity! He looked up at Magma with a smirk, the sun beaming down. Magma just laughed at him.
"Well, come on!" He challenged the weaker brunet. "Are you gonna fight or just stand there? Even with that mask, there's no way a weak brat like you can defeat me!"
"It won't work, Chrome!" Senku yelled urgently at him. "You'll never start a fire with a concave lens!"
"You've gotta think of something else!" Sumi added in with worry. "Otherwise he'll make sure you won't even be able to stand!"
"Yeah," Chrome responded without any worry at all. Sumi blinked at him in confusion for how calm he seemed. "Don't worry about a thing, Professor Senku and Professor Sumi! I may be a novice, but I'm still a science user!"
Sumi let out a small whiff and flinched. "Wait...that smell...he couldn't have..." She murmured and Senku's eyes widened as he realized what she was smelling. For the first time, Senku was actually impressed with Chrome's mindset.
Stupid arms. Stop shaking, damn it. Chrome kept willing himself to keep the weapon straight, or else it wouldn't work. I've gotta calm my nerves!
"Hold on...could that really be it?"Senku murmured as he and Sumi continued to stare in awe. "Back then...when he was crouching over Suika's mask, he dripped water over the concave lens. I don't believe it. But using his own sweat and tears, he's turned the concave lens into a convex one!"
"Using the oxidation of his own sweat...he's corroded the concave lens enough to be a convex one! Water can change the shape of lenses!" Sumi gasped sharply, a smile on her face from Chrome's plan and that he figured that out.
"Will that be enough to start a fire, though?" A familiar voice spoke up, standing on a pillar. "I onder-way."
"Yeah," Senku answered, though he didn't register the voice. Sumi's eyes widened as she turned around to the person behind them. "It's what you would call a burning lens. There was even a pretty cool case about it once. Using air and a suction-" He stopped speaking as he finally recognized who was speaking. The others turned around to see Gen standing on one of the bridge's pillars. "Asagiri Gen?!"
"What's that sneaky little rat doing here?" Kohaku wondered as they stared.
"Gen, you're back! And you're fully healed," Sumi blinked, surprised that his injuries were all gone.
"It's been a while," He smirked at the group. "And it's all thanks to Dr. Sumi that I'm back on my feet at all. I'm not sure now is the time to be worrying about me. What about poor little Chrome?" He stared at Chrome and Magma. "If the Kingdom of Science should fail to triumph today...how will I get that bottle of Cola?"
Sumi closed her eyes with a grin, a hand on her hip. "Of course you're concerned about your Cola. Is that all you care about?"
Senku had a grin on his face as well before chuckling a bit. "Let me guess, you've been watching the whole time, haven't you?"
"Exactly how much time does he need to start the fire?" Gen ignored their teasing with a serious look on his face. "That's the big question."
Senku glanced at Sumi with a frown and she looked up, arms crossed. "Well, you ask like that math is simple," He remarked to the mentalist. "Turns out it isn't. However, Sumi and I can figure it out," He raised up a finger, as he usually did this when calculating. Sumi placed a finger on her temple, closing her eyes. Kohaku and Suika stared at the duo.
"First we consider the shape, size, and how much heat is hitting the lens right now," She started off as they concentrated.
"The diameter of 5 centimeters. Solar constant is 1362 watts per square meter. Damn it! Calculating the heat transfer rate mentally isn't easy."
"Heh. That's why I'm here, Sen," Sumi gave a small smirk, still thinking as well. "So the heat transferred to that lens, along with the mass, heat, and the temperature between the fluid in the lens and Magma's clothing would be..."
"2.6821 rounded down to 2.86," Senku continued for her. "Thanks for the reminder. The radiation rate is 0 in comb winds for ignition conditions close to paper. With a specific heat of 1.3 kilojules."
"Density value is important to consider as well. The lens is small, so it'd be under 1,000 per cubic meter once you convert 1,980 pounds into kilograms. The lens needs to hit a straight point of contact of 572 degrees Fahrenheit," Sumi stated, everyone staring at the duo in shock. It was like they were watching a well-oiled machine with how they were operating.
"So a density of 900 kilograms per cubic meter, and an ignition point of 300 degrees Celsius..."
Sumi opened her eyes, the two having smirks on their faces once they had the answer. "60 seconds!" They both said in unison.
"Right on the dot," Senku finished as they looked on.
Everyone was shocked by their teamwork of calculating, as they had never seen anything like it. Sumi smiled at Senku, as him calculating was one of her favorite traits from him. It was challenging, but also rewarding for both of them.
"Okay," Gen jumped down from the pillar, a smirk on his face as he ran up ahead. "Sounds like it's time for this mentalist to go to work."
"Give 'em a good show, Gen," Sumi waved to him encouragingly with a wink.
Chrome was still holding his weapon steady, even though his arms were getting tired. Magma was getting a little restless by all the waiting. "Would ya hurry up already? Get on with it before I decide to kill you," He waved a hand forward. However, his patience had already run thin as he raised his weapon. He was about to finish Chrome off when...
"Oh, Magma~!"
He froze, eyes widening as he recognized it immediately. He then turned around to see Gen standing on top of the chief's hut. His hands were hidden in his sleeves, an evil grin on his face. "I just wanted to say thank you. You know, for killing me the other day?"
Magma had sweat dripping down his face, shocked to see that Gen was on his feet at all. He thought he had killed the mentalist the last time he saw him. "It's you! The sorcerer from outside!" He shouted, as he believed that the blood was real.
"Impossible!" Mantle shouted, just as shocked as the blond. "But how are you still alive?!"
"Why, by using my sorcery, of course!" He grinned gleefully, pressing his hands together as he concentrated. He then made several hand gestures, a bunch of flower petals appearing from the sky. Magma looked up in surprise and Gen had his fingers together as if he was casting a spell. "I've put a curse on you! Your heart will explode the moment you take even a single step! So tread lightly, Magma!"
"His heart will explode?!" Everyone, including Magma, was shocked by this. Well, everyone except the Kingdom of Science, since they knew that he was just making them believe this lie.
"He'll die in seconds?!"
Magma was actually scared for once as he looked to Jasper. "This obviously counts as outside interference! And that's cheating!" He called out so that he could get an automatic win for this.
"Only if your heart actually explodes!" Senku called out mockingly, getting their attention. "But if he's only bluffing, then it's just a taunt, right? Which isn't against the rules. You could always move around and test out the theory. Will your heart really explode? Who knows?"
"That's dirty," Kinro commented, both him and Kohaku sweat dropping.
"So dirty," Kohaku added in, Sumi shaking her head in amusement silently.
Well, the only person who needs to believe it is Magma. And given that he still believes in sorcery... She glanced up with a smirk towards the blond. He should be scared shitless right about now...giving Chrome the chance he needs.
Magma grasped at his chest where his heart was, as he believed Senku. He looked panicked as he didn't move, growling as he was cornered.
"Hurry up, Chrome! This is your chance to win while I have him incapacitated!" Gen told the brunet, and Magma glanced up in confusion. Chrome had the same expression as he didn't get the distraction at first. But then he soon realized what this was all about. "Oh, but I'm so terrified. I seem to be frozen. Just paralyzed by fear!" He fibbed, though his acting wasn't the best.
"Come on, that has to be the worst acting I've ever seen," Kohaku remarked, still a bit worried, but Senku chuckled.
"It's still good enough. Plus Gen made it convincing."
"And now he just needs to hold up the illusion," Sumi held up a finger.
"Get him!" Gen pretended to struggle keeping up the 'curse.' Thankfully, his acting was more believable. "Please! I beg you! Casting this spell is using the last of my magic reserves! I can only hold it one minute. Ick-quay!"
After hearing that, Magma laughed, his confidence coming back. "Good thing you're a pathetic wimp! All I have to do is wait long enough for the sorcerer's magic to run out and then I'm gonna pummel you!" He had a gleeful look on his face.
Not bad, mentalist Senku thought, impressed once again.
"Our dear Kinro has done quite a bit of damage to Magma," Gen started off as his robe flew around. "Then Magma started on Chrome with hardly any strength left," He had a snake-like grin on his face. "I understand. He just wants a little break. And now I've gifted him the perfect excuse. He can rest while he waits for the sorcery to wear off. The fact is, people will buy any cheap lie if it'll justify unending laziness. Which is why you were so quick to fall for my sorcery! Silly Magma!"
Meanwhile, the crowd was getting a bit restless of standing around and waiting.
"What's the matter?"
"Would you go already?"
"Hurry up!"
"Get him!"
"Magma or anyone else aren't gonna be able to take this for much longer," Sumi murmured to Senku as they watched.
Gen bought us 60 seconds. Now, Chrome, the rest is up to you. That's enough time under ideal conditions. But even the rippling of the water on the lens can throw that off.
Sumi looked fierce towards their friend as she clenched her fist. You'll win this, Chrome. Not just for the Kingdom of Science, but to cure Ruri. Just keep your body still for a little longer...remember that you've gotta hold on for her.
Chrome held his position, gritting his teeth. He had more determination than ever as sweat was dripping down from him. Crap. It's impossible to keep the tip of this spear completely still! You can do this. Calm your mind.
"Wow, Chrome," The younger Ruri smiled while holding a basket in the flower field. "Thank you!"
She looked down at him nervously, waiting in anticipation. I'm going to save Ruri. He opened up the eye that wasn't swollen, as he stopped shaking his arms. Senku's science, Sumi's optimism, Gen's magic, and my tenacity! With our strengths combined, we will succeed! The light will start a fire!
And soon after, Magma's pants started to burn, and a small flame of fire appeared. He looked down at his clothes in alarm, gasping a little.
"Now slap it," Senku smirked as Sumi gave a look of glee.
"Heh. Come on, fan the flames..." She said knowingly and after they said that, Magma slapped his pants to try and put it out.
"What the-? What is this?" He wondered as the flames got bigger and bigger. He screamed as the fire spread out through his clothes.
"It's a surface flash phenomenon," Senku stated as everyone watched in shock. "The tiny fuzz all over his clothing spreads fire instantly."
"And without this village knowing of proper ways to put it out on clothes..." Sumi placed a hand on her hip, smiling. "For once, that arrogant prick is finally getting some long overdue payback for all the trouble he's caused us."
"I'm learning a lot of things today that make me terrified of you, Sumi..." Ginro murmured in fear of her.
"Relax, I'm not a sadist or anything," She shrugged a little with a small hum. "I just think that after hurting one of our members and trying to cheat multiple times in this Grand Bout, he's done enough to warrant it."
"Heh. Yeah, Sumi's too much of a princess to ask for death unless it's necessary," Senku chuckled, crossing his arms.
Magma continued to panic while slightly rolling around, but not enough to put it out. Chrome stared at him for a few seconds. "Hey, Magma, try and relax. I have no intention of becoming a murderer. So just this once, I'll help you out."
Chrome let out a yell as he charged forward, aiming for his opponent. He then got him in the crotch like he wanted to in the first place. Magma let out a painful squeal, his eyes bulging out in pain. He lost his balance thanks to this move, and fell off the edge of the cliff. He screamed while his clothes were still on fire, and the water down below put him out of the flames. And also gave Chrome the win.
Jasper blinked in disbelief from the sight. He then gave a small smile while raising his hand. "Winner, Chrome!"
Chrome grinned widely for his victory. "Yeah! Take that, Magma!"
Kinro smiled while clutching a fist, Ginro having a big smile on his face. "Woo-hoo!"
"Now there's only four contestants left!" Suika exclaimed in joy as her eyes sparkled a little. Kohaku had a big smile on her face while pumping her fists.
"Senku plus Chrome, Mire-Chan, and our dear little Ginro," Gen smiled, glad for the win as well.
"You did it, Chrome!" Sumi clapped for him happily, and Ruri smiled in relief.
"Chrome won!"
"Everyone left is on our side!" Suika stated, Senku and Sumi looking to each other. They grinned before he took her hand, running towards Chrome.
"That's right!" The Kingdom of Science all went over to congratulate him happily. "No matter what, it's total victory for the Kingdom of Science!"
"And that means...it's only a matter of time to getting that medicine for Ruri!" Sumi revealed to them happily.
Angel: To those who thought Sumi was gonna fight Magma, um…sorry that she didn't! I did make a compromise in this chapter that her fighting skills were at least displayed here. And I think next chapter should also make up for it.
Tbh, I thought about her going up against Magma, but I didn't think it would fit the narrative. Especially since it has more impact for Chrome to fight Magma and win rather than Sumi. If she had gone against Magma, this episode and the previous would've been very different. Kohaku already didn't fight him, so it'd miss the point that the Kingdom of Science was losing fighters left and right—or at least, didn't have nearly as much strength thanks to Magma's constant trickery.
